Shiny Pokemon who ARENT actually Shiny

Shiny Pokemon typically undergo crazy coloration changes when they become shiny and then there's some Pokemon who don't even change! I'm not talking about shiny Pokemon with no color change or a barely noticable change, I'm talking about Pokemon who hold props or wear clothes and their prop is the only thing that changes in its shiny form. Today, I'm going over every Pokemon who TECHNICALLY aren't shiny.

1. Komala

I've talked about this shiny before, and you know how much I hate it. Komala's shiny consists of the log it carries around changing from brown to white. Komala itself does not change in coloration. Therefore, technically there's no such thing as a shiny Komala. Just give it a log from a Birch tree.

2. Tinkatink, Tinkatuff & Tinkaton

Fan favorites with shinies the fanbase raved about upon the release of Scarlet & Violet. You'll be betrayed to know that these three Pokemon ARENT shiny. The metal these guys salvage and wear from other Pokémon, this includes these three's giant metal hammers, are the only things that changes color when Shiny, not their actual bodies...

3. Smeargle

Technically a shiny now, ORIGINALLY Only the paint on Smeargle's tail changed color when shiny. Nowadays, Smeargle's body had been changed to turn yellow when shiny. This shiny was even retconned in the anime back in the Silver & Gold days that there's no such thing as a shiny Smeargle as these guys could literally change the color of paint they use. This most likely was what prompted Pokemon to change Smeargle's shiny all together.

4. Applin & Flapple

Another fan favorite shiny, mine included, The only thing that constitutes Applin & Flapple as a shiny is the color of the apple it's burrowed within. Applin is its own Pokemon and it's shiny green apple is merely a prop. Honestly, it would've been better if Applin itself turned pink like a worm and it's apple remained red, but that's just me.

5. Sinistea & Polteageist

Just like Applin, Sinistea and Polteageist are Pokemon that reside within items and technically the items ARENT a physical part of the Pokemon's body. Therefore, the teacup and tea pot these two reside within are the only things that become shiny and not the Pokemon itself. Still love their shinies though!!!

6. Mimickyu

Technically, we DONT know what Mimickyu looks like. This Pokemon lives its life wearing a disguise, a Pikachu costume. In the anime, it was confirmed that the costume Mimickyu wears isnt permanently part of its body unlike the belt on a Machoke or the punching gloves on a Hitmonchan. Mimickyu's disguise, as far as we're aware, only changes color when shiny.

7. Falinks

In Falinks Pokedex entry, these guys wear suits of armor and only the suit of armor changes color when shiny. Therefore the technical Pokemon itself doesn't change color, just the clothes they wear. Can't deny though, they know how to dress and own the place.

8. Cofagrigus

A shiny that I personally don't consider to be shiny. Back in the OG Black & White days, only Cofagrigus' sarcophagus would change color when shiny. Nowadays, this shiny has been ever so slightly altered. Now, the sarcophagus is a different color AND the ghostly body changes ever so slightly to a dark shade of blue rather than black. Still, I don't consider this guy to be shiny due to how in the original games it's ghostly arms didn't change color. What do you think, is Cofagrigus shiny?

That's all of the shinies that technically aren't shiny. Did any of these discoveries blow you away?
