Pokemon Games I Might Never Play Again...

This doesn't mean the games were bad, or atleast most of them aren't bad, but there's just something about these games be it the amount of time and effort necessary to complete the game, the game was more of a headache than it was enjoyable or maybe there just isn't replayability.

Here are a handful of Pokemon Games I might not pick up ever again

1. Pokken Tournament

Pokken Tournament is basically if Pokemon was a Tekken/Street Fighter-Esque fighting game. I've played this game beginning to end twice if that says anything and I can confidently say that I regret playing it a second time. I originally played this game when it initially came out on the Wii U. Thankfully this was back when Family Video was still a thing so I rented the game, and thankful I never owned it as the game was a bit of a headache. Years later, I purchased the game when it came to the Nintendo Switch, thinking that the Switch release was a sequel or an ironed out version of the original game considering it had a different name and new fighters, only to realize it's the same exact game as before except with extra fighters. Literally nothing about the first game was fixed or enhanced... Reason why I won't be playing this game again is because A: They suckered alot of people into purchasing the game twice due to poor advertising. B: This game is VERY repetitive. Smash Bros is a repetitive fighting game yes, but at least there's minigames and fighting modes you could play under. In Pokken Tournament, there's fights. Nothing but timed fights. That's it. So it gets boring quickly. And lastly C: The gameplay had issues! Although the game gives you level difficulties, unless you grinded in the training area of the game and KNOW the controls like the back of your hand, you stand no chance in this game. I literally had to grind in the training area until I was familiar with the controls enough to not get my butt handed to me, found a Pokemon that I could play as decently, then I had to level grind to the point it could actually take a hit without dying. The other issues stems from how nauseating the camera can get when it's constantly switching on you and that if your character gets hit once you cannot defend yourself. They can barrage hits on you till they win most of the time and you're stunned the whole time. This game just takes way too much skill to play to the point its aggravating and that I don't ever want to touch it again.

2. Pokemon Channel

I WASTED so much time when I was younger playing this BS of a game!!! I don't even recommend anyone to play this game once!!! The premise of the game is that the player owns a VERY lazy Pikachu that refuses to go play outside with its friends as he instead would rather watch TV and spend your money. No joke, that's the point of the game. All you do is sit there, and watch your Pikachu watch TV and if he throws on the shopping network, he'll beg and beg you to buy it plushies and games and stuff. If you don't let Pikachu be a lazy piece of crap he'll electrocute you. So, not only is this game boring as all heck but the ending was so lack luster too. I'm sorry, I don't wanna be bullied by my pet Pikachu. BYE!!!

3. Pokemon Ranger Shadows of Almia

I know, controversial opinion here😅 I don't hate this game, not in the slightest, but I cannot see myself playing this game again. Furthermore, I remember the least amount of things that happened in this game compared to the rest of the series. I prefer the design of the protagonist of the first game, I didn't like how Darkrai was the big baddie of this game, it made no sense. If they would've stuck to the advanced technology/hypnosis plot I would've liked the game more. Plus this game acts as if pokeballs/trainers dont exist which is mind boggling unlike the rest of the series that does acknowledge the existence of trainers. The tutorial/prologue is ridiculously long to the point I dread ever wanting to play this game again and theres too much hand holding, i wasnt fond of the evil team. I mean heck, Team Dim Sun? That sounds stupid... In the end, I prefer the first game over this one ten fold and I don't think I'll pick this game up again.

4. New Pokemon Snap

I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough of New Pokemon Snap, however, there's reasons why I firmly believe I may never replay this game ever again. There just isn't any replayability here...
I level grinded in order to access new photo routes and to be able to snap pictures of all the Pokemon. However, once you play this game once, there's nothing new to experience. You can say that about literally any game, but I dumped a ridiculous amount of hours into this game only to get nothing out of it. What especially keeps me from replaying this game is how annoying the God damned melody you can play to lure out Pokemon but also how astonishingly lackluster the end of the game was. I dumped hours into this game only for its ending to feel really rushed and make no sense on top of it. When the ending came and went, I sat there thinking 'Was that really the end?' I'm just so disappointed with its ending and that I got more of a headache out of this game than I actually enjoyed it, therefore, I don't think I'll be downloading it from the eshop again anytime soon. That's another thing too, 95% of the time I purchase physical copies of all my switch games. This is the only Pokemon game to date I don't own a physical copy of. This is due to me not really being interested in it when it first came out but also it just so happened to be on sale.

5. Pokemon Legends Arceus

Yup, another opinion I know will get some shaking heads😅 I LOVED this game, it's one of the best games Pokemon has ever put out, but I don't think I'll pick it up again. Or let me rephrase, I don't think I'll be picking it up again anytime soon. This game requires so much time and effort! In order to even complete the main story, you have to fight one of the hardest trainers in Pokemon history, In which my Pokemon had to be level 90+ in order to defeat him on top of how the game requires you to 100% the Pokedex in order to get the true ending. Do you know how difficult it is to capture all of the Pokemon, in which some Pokemon had ridiculous requirements in order to capture them, let alone complete their dex entrys? I literally had to trade with someone in order to get the last Pokemon in my dex due to how for the life of me the Pokemon in question refused to spawn in my save file. (That or i just have shitty luck) On top of such, the reward for completing the Pokedex is... A few Rare Candies? After I let that disappointment settle in, I realized I'll probably never try for the true ending again. As much as I love this game, I don't think I'll have the time or effort to wanna try and complete the game again. I especially hate games that require you to 100% the game in order to get their true endings (Yes I'm talking about you Spyro A Heros Tail, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep and Sonic Heroes!!!)

6. Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

When we wanted Sinnoh remakes, this is not what anyone meant. The game was rushed, the game looks bad, there's so many bugs, they didn't change anything that Platinum improved upon Diamond and Pearl and therefore left us with an aggravating game that is an eyesore to look at. In fact, I never finished my initial playthrough of Brilliant Diamond. I even pre-ordered both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and have no intention of finishing either of them. I've been tempted to sell them but I know nobody will take a crap game like this off my hands. The only good thing this game did was eliminate HMs. HMs are still a thing by the way, HOWEVER this game made it so you aren't required to teach them to your pokemon in order to use said move. Instead, they adopted the same system as Sun & Moon where you can call upon certain Pokemon in order to handle a task at hand. This is the only thing I like vastly over the original games. In the end, I'd rather replay the OG Diamond, Pearl & Platinum over these horrendous remakes.

What about you, are there any Pokemon games out there you won't be playing again anytime soon?
