Pokemon Ancestors I WANT To See
In Pokemon Legends Arceus, we got a glimpse at more than 20 ancestors to characters we've already been introduced to in mainstream games. We got to see the ancestors of Champion Cynthia, Champion Leon & Hop, Wally, Volkner & many more. Today, I wanna talk about characters of whom I'd love to see the ancestors to in a future Pokemon Legends game (cause I know for a fact we'll get more Legends games)
1. Champion Alder
Although personally I don't care for Alder as a character, in Legends Arceus however Alder's ancestor is in fact featured within the game! He's not an actual character, let alone spoken of, but within the homes of the Pearl & Diamond Clans there's pictures of whom the audience assumes are important former members of their clans. One of the pictures featured within their homes is very clearly the ancestor of Unova's former Champion, Alder. Again, Alder is never spoken of let alone referenced, so I want to know how he's connected to the Diamond & Pearl Clans!!! Clearly Alder was important to the Clans so in a future Legends Game I hope we get to actually meet Alder's ancestor.
2. Koga
Koga is Kanto's former Poison Gym Leader now Poison Elite 4 Member. Koga is Pokemon's OG Ninja and in Legends Arceus, Ninjas & Shinobi were featured therefore letting us know that Ninjas used to play an even bigger part in Pokemon history. I'd love to see Koga's ancestor as we don't exactly know of any other ninja associated characters besides Wally/Beni. So, if a future Legends game gives us some more history behind in universe Ninjas, I feel it's guaranteed we'll see an ancestor of Koga. Plus, you cannot deny Koga is a cool ass dude!
3. Hapu
Hapu is the Kahuna of Poni Island in the Sun & Moon games. Although she is admittedly very forgettable, I'm definitely interested in her deceased ancestors as they were island Kahunas before Hapu. I'd love to see her ancestors become Kahunas to put it simply. Hapu is very in tune with the history of Alola which tells me that maybe her past ancestors were historians before they established their family farm. Anything is a possibility really. Furthermore, maybe we don't even need to get deeply involved with Hapu's ancestors in a future Legends Game. Since the PC in Legends Arceus was instead replaced with a farm considering electricity wasn't a thing back then, maybe Hapu's ancestors could host said farm where the player keeps all their Pokemon on in a future game.
4. Archie & Maxie
Archie is the leader of Team Aqua in the Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald games while Maxie is the leader of Team Magma In said games. For the same reasoning as Alder above, Archie & Maxie's ancestors are featured in Legends Arceus but they arent referred to, like at all. Instead, their portraits are featured within the homes of the Diamond & Pearl Clans telling us that they used to be important members of their clans and clearly has an even bigger story to tell. Therefore we NEED Archie & Maxie's ancestors in a future Legends game. Cause clearly their beef with each other is generational lol.
5. Professor Oak
I low key feel this one's a given. Professor Oak is the OG Professor and quite possibly the most recognizable face in all of Pokemon. Although game wise Oak has barely been involved since Red & Blue BUT in Sun & Moon we're introduced to one of Oak's relatives, Samson, who lives in Alola. Honestly I think it'd be cool if in a Legends game we get to see one of Oak's ancestors. Especially since in one of the Pokemon movies, Pokemon 4 Ever to be specific, we were introduced to a child Oak of whom traveled through time with Celebi. Since there's heavy speculation that the next Legends game will explore Johto & the Legend of focus would be Celebi, it'd be really cool if there was a reference to the anime & we see an ancestor of Oak.
6. Grimsley
Grimsley is a character that I want to see his ancestor just simply because I want to know more about him. It's not often that Elite 4 members get any sort of spotlight but not only is Grimsley a straight up cool looking character whose the Dark Type Elite 4 of Unova, but Grimsley was also brought back into Sun & Moon as a friend to Island Kahuna Nanu. Based on Grimsley's appearance in Alola, it gave off swordsman vibes/Japan vibes. Considering how the first 4 Pokemon regions are inspired by Japan, this tells me that Grimsley wasn't originally from Unova and therefore I'd love to see Grimsley's ancestor BEFORE he immigrated to Unova much like how Beni from Legends Arceus was originally from Sinnoh but immigrated to Hoenn.
7. Piers & Marnie
I absolutely love Piers! Considering how Legends Arceus gave us ancestors to Hop, Leon, Gordie & Melony, I'd absolutely love to see Piers & Marnie's origins! Considering how Piers & Marnie's style is heavily influenced by Punk & American Rock N' Roll, more specifically by an American band named KISS, this probably means their ancestors were most likely from Unova. Unova's real life inspiration is the United States & New York. HOWEVER I could be completely wrong as Rock originated from the UK from The Beatles. So, I don't know. All that I know is that no doubt an ancestor for this pair of siblings wouldn't disappoint anyone & would steal the spotlight no matter what.
8. Avery
Avery is a version exclusive gym leader to Pokemon Shield and he very quickly made an impact on the audience. Avery comes from a long line of Psychics, and strong Psychics at that. You know what region has a strong influence of psychics? Kanto. Avery is never said to originate from Galar but rather he came to Galar to train under one of their former champions. I genuinely want to see Avery's ancestors!!! I think meeting one or many of his ancestors would be fun as Psychics arent common in Pokemon games anymore. Plus, Psychics are just cool in general.
9. Byron & Roark
The fact that we DIDNT see Byron's ancestor in Legends Arceus is surprising in and of itself considering we met just about everyone's ancestor from the Diamond & Pearl games. Byron is a hard working father whose profession is mining. Mining isn't just something you get into, its a profession that's normally passed down onto you from relatives. Hence how his son Roark owns a mine of his own. Therefore, who are Byron's ancestors? When did they start mining? Was it Clay's ancestor that got Byron's family into mining? These are the questions that need to be answered in a future Legends game.
10. Lenora
Lenora is the Normal Type Gym Leader of Unova and a REALLY big part of Lenora is that she's a historian & owns a museum with her husband. Again, much like with Byron, you normally don't just get into being a historian & owning museums. They're both things that are normally passed down from your ancestors. To me at least, to run a museum, you have to have LOADS of money or the artifacts in said museum are family heirlooms. I could go on forever about Lenora, all that I know is that I WANT a relative for Lenora really badly. I'd love for a Legends game to show the player helping Lenora's ancestor put together/found their museum.
What about you, is there a Pokemon character of whom you'd love to see their ancestor?
