My Teams Over The Years
I've pulled out some of my older Pokemon Games because a friend of mine wanted to borrow a few of the OG games, I wanted to take one last glance at my save files before they fade out of existence. Then I got too carried away and it was a heavy Nostalgia trip. So today I'm gonna talk about some of the Pokemon Teams I've pulled together over the years. Some are horrible, some are genius especially for my age at the time.
1. Team Leaf Green
THIS is my first ever mainstream Pokemon game that I played when I was 4-5 years old. For a game/team that I put together when I was five years old, before i could even read might i add, I'm quite impressed! There's quite a bit of variety here. I vividly remember going 75% of the game with a Nidorina cause I didn't know how to evolve it. I also thought that Farfetch'd evolved so I kept it on my team hoping it'd eventually evolve... And Didn't. In this playthrough I even caught a shiny Rattata! I didn't even know what a shiny Pokemon was at the time lol. I looked at it and thought 'what the heck!?'. Anyways, although I know for a fact that I'll never play Leaf Green ever again, it was nice to revisit it.
2. Team Soulsilver
Yeah I'm not proud of this team lol. The only thing impressive about it was that I had captured 3 Shinies: Gyarados, a Golbat i never evolved & Meditite. One of the three of them being the Shiny Gyarados that they literally hand you during the game. I didn't even use 2/3 of my team either. I used Feraligatr & Gyarados 100% of the time unless they fainted & I had to switch in for someone else. No joke, this was the team that was registered as having defeated the Elite 4 with. I'm crying! Thing is this team ISNT bad, I just never utilized all 6 of my Pokemon, and failed to evolve two of them. If only I had evolved Shiny Golbat into a Crobat & Misdreavus into Mismagius, this would be a top tier team!!!
3. Team Y
See a theme in this one? In Pokemon Y I unknowingly made my entire team Fire typed, or most of it for that matter, Yet I somehow defeated the entire game with majority Fire Types. However, if you can tell, I have a Dragalge & Hydriegon on my team. Let's just say I had major issues during this playthrough. A friend of mine traded me Dragalge because for the life of me I could not defeat the 2nd Gym Leader. He specializes in Rock types and with an entire Fire type team you see the issue with that. Eventually I had issues with the Water Elite 4 member so I stopped using my Charizard & used a Hydriegon instead. Clearly, the game was much easier as of that point because I STOPPED USING SO MANY FIRE TYPES!!! I've replayed Y once since this playthrough and I had a much easier time, mainly cause I FINALLY had variety.
4. Team Pokemon XD Gale Of Darkness
This team is STEAMING HOT GARBAGE!!! I unknowingly played through MOST of this game with the worst Pokemon in the entire game. This team was so bad I RESTARTED IT!!! Yeah! I deleted my save file & restarted because of how shit this team was. I originally made my Eevee evolve into Flareon, the WORST possible Eeveelution to choose for this game. Furthermore, Sharpedo has SHIT Defense. It's defense was so bad, 90% of the time Sharpedo was dead if it got hit once! Fearow was on my team for the only reason it knew False Swipe and made capturing Pokemon easier. Delcatty knew Attract, a status move that I swear only worked 10% of the time. Venomoth & Lunatone was on the team cause they knew psychic moves but thing is, theres so many BETTER Psychic types in this game & i dont know why i chose those two... The only decent Pokemon on this team was Zangoose...
5. Team Pokemon XD Gale Of Darkness 2nd Playthrough
And this is my team for Gale Of Darkness AFTER I rage deleted my original save. It looks miles better than the original team dont it? This time around I had my Eevee evolve into Jolteon instead of Flareon. Statistically, Jolteon is the best Eeveelution by the way. I also opted for Gardevoir, one of the best psychic types in existence. Arcanine is a powerhouse. I also had an insanely powerful strategy too of where my two leading Pokemon were Manectric & Jolteon (this game is played entirely in double battles by the way). Manectric knew Rain Dance, while Manectric AND Jolteon both knew Thunder. Due to Rain Dance making it so Thunder never misses, I'd always 1 Hit KO my opponents. I was so proud of this team due to how over powered it was!!!
6. Team Black
I've played Pokemom Black more times than I can count BUT this is my team from my most recent playthrough. The entire team is overpowered lol. I specifically went out and picked the best Pokemon in the game that weren't legendaries. Eelektross of which is the only Pokemon in existence with no weaknesses. Hydriegon of which is insanely Powerful for a Dragon type that is infamous for how highly leveled it needed to be in order to evolve. Mienshao is the best fighting type available in game that DOESNT require you to trade in order to evolve. Chandelure has the highest Special Attack Stat in the entire game. Samurott because you cannot go wrong with a water type Starter and lastly Leavanny, although not the best Grass/Bug in existence, is pretty sturdy & powerful.
7. Team Legends Arceus
Let me just say how proud I am of this team! My team used to be miles different than this. I've never had to so heavily change my entire team due to how difficult the final boss of the game was. Wyrdeer, a Pokemon I used the entire game, had to get benched due to being insanely weak to the boss in question. I also had no intention of using Darkrai but it's an awesome Pokemon in battle. Lastly I also had no intention of using a Kleavor either but Kleavor is actually the definition of perfect in this game due to the variety of moves it can learn. You can't go wrong with Lucario! Zoroark is the only Pokemon on this team just for the fact that I wanted it on there. If any of you want to know a team perfect for defeating Volo, this, this team is it!
8. Team Shield
This is a team for a save file I have 100+ hours dedicated to... Every single Pokemon on this team can Gigantamax (if they have a Gigantamax form) Before the DLC gave you the ability to make Pokemon who couldn't previously Gigantamax, the ability to Gigantamax, I would run all over the wild area for Raid Dens that held Pokemon on my team that could Gigantamax. I've caught more than 10 Gigantamax Toxtricity JUST BECAUSE I wanted a Gigantamax Amped Toxtricity. Furthermore, my Corviknight was Level 100 BUT I started all over again because I found a Gigantamax Corviknight. I was also stupid & made my Inteleon Gigantamax when I NEEDED to give my Urshifu the ability instead. So I spent the next week looking for supplies to Gigantamax my Multi-Strike Urshifu. Furthermore, I'm so proud of this team! They're now all level 100 & crazy strong.
9. Team Sword
I decided to feature both my Sword & Shield teams due to how similar they are. You'd think that I'd go & try out different Pokemon since I was starting a new adventure & that there's version exclusive gym leaders and yeah, there are different Pokemon in each team but they share 4 Pokemon. Those being Inteleon, Corviknight, Toxtricity & Urshifu. The biggest difference being I only have 20 hours in Sword & 100+ in Shield so clearly not all of my Pokemon can Gigantamax & that in Sword I chose Single Strike Urshifu over Multi-Strike. Not to forget, notice how I have a green Espeon? Yeah, I somehow found a shiny Eevee during this playthrough. Then again, whenever I'm not actively shiny hunting, I find shinies so yeah that's my luck... I originally wanted a Shiny Umbreon, and I was leveling up Eevee while it was dark outside in game. I guess 3am is considered daytime in Sword. So yeah, my luck is shitty!!!
10. Team Ultra Moon
This team needs a little context... I chose Incineroar because in Moon I originally chose a Popplio as my starter & I wanted to try something new and DONT regret it. Incineroar is not only OP but it's now one of my favorite Pokemon. I never wanted to use Alolan Muk BUT Ultra Moon is the first game I chose Pokemon because of Stats. Grimer/Muk has the highest stats of all beginning of game Pokemon, no joke. Due to its insane stats, I kept this monstrosity on my team until the very end. The Tsareena & Noivern came from in game trades. Tsareena is such an OP Pokemon as well since it can learn Grass, Normal, Fairy & Fighting type moves on top of its insane speed & attack stats. Lastly, my Dusk Lycanroc... Dusk Lycanroc is an event exclusive Pokemon. I traded my Dialga in order to get Dusk Lycanroc. No Joke. Not like I was using my wonder traded Dialga in the first place. Still, I find the means of getting my hands on Dusk Lycanroc to be a little ridiculous...
Hope you had fun with this update! I know it was nice going down memory lane.
