Surprisingly, I dislike very few of the starters out there! But there are some that I straight up don't really like or when I initially met them I was disappointed.

1. Marshtomp

I don't HATE Marshtomp, I just never really cared for it😅 The other middle stage starters Marshtomp had to compete with completely blew it out of the water. I mean Grovyle is one of the most beloved starters out there, mine included. Part of the reason I partially dislike Marshtomp is due to how I played ALOT of Pokemon Colosseum when I was younger and it's 3D model has never sat well with me on top of how vacant and almost 'derpy' it's expression is.

2. Pignite

Most of us can agree here that Tepig's evolutionary line is widely disliked. I think this line of Pokemon is VERY good in battle but their designs aren't one to write home about. While I genuinely love Tepig and don't mind Emboar, Pignite is a monstrosity and we all know it.

3. Delphox

As of today, I genuinely like Delphox, nowhere near as much as I love Fennekin and Braixen, but I do like Delphox. However, Braixen IS one of my all time favorite Pokemon. So when I played X & Y for the first time I fell in love with Braixen and hurried to evolve it as I thought it's evolution must be awesome! Right? Yeah no... When I evolved my beloved Braixen and saw Delphox, I immediately went wide eyed and my heart sunk. All that I thought for the next few days was "I regret evolving Braixen. I hate this thing." It's 3D model does not do it justice, it does a complete disservice. I love the anime design of Delphox, but I straight up cannot describe my heavy disappointment after seeing Delphox for the first time.

4. Quiladin

5. Brionne

In my first playthrough of Sun & Moon, I chose Popplio because I fell in love with it upon first sight. When I evolved it, I've never seen a Pokemon so god damned ugly. In fact, I hate Brionne so much ill never willingly choose Popplio as a starter ever again. Whether Popplio is a starter choice in a future Legends game, I replay Sun & Moon again or the Alola starters are a gift in a future game, I'm still NEVER picking the Popplio line again because of how much I hate Brionne.

6. Drizzle

Another case of awkward middle stage evolution Pokemon. Drizzle just sucks... I hate this design. It doesn't look like a middle stage between Sobble and Intelleon. It just looks like a bunch of bad design choices. Like there's literally no reason to give it an emo hairstyle, and why are his hands GREEN and look like boxing mitts!? Despite how I will always choose Soble in a Sword/Shield playthrough, I have to just tough it out when I have to evolve Sobble and put Drizzle at the back of my party. I allow the EXP Share to feed it the EXP necessary to evolve it cause Drizzle ain't battling unless it's absolutely necessary.

7. Rillaboom

Never liked the Grookey line and think that Rillaboom is a horrible design. I don't like how it always carries a tree log/drum prop. This Pokemon would've been miles better if it's sprite didn't have its drum out 24/7 and instead pulled out the drum when attacking.

8. Hisuian Decidueye

One thing I vividly remember when Legends Arceus came out was that EVERYONE was pissed off with how poorly designed Hisuian Decidueye was. While I admittedly don't mind shiny Hisuian Decidueye, I'll admit I'm not a fan of this regional form.
