The title is sort of a lie, while YES this is a Halloween update, the title is a little flexible. Today's update goes over Pokemon characters that either look scary, dress for the season or just seem like they'd love Halloween.

1. Acerola

If you guys didn't immediately associate Acerola with Halloween, then we can't be friends! This girl is the queen of Halloween! Acerola is a very cute and quirky girl introduced in the Pokemon Sun & Moon games. She is the former Ghost Trial captain and current member of Alola's Elite 4. She runs around sporting a tattered ghost pokemon inspired dress AS WELL AS having befriended a deceased shiny Mimikyu who follows her around like a pet. This girl owns a literal ghost, do you understand just how cool that makes her!? I straight up love Acerola for how cute she is and how much she adores spooky things and all ghost Pokemon. Let's not forget how in Pokemon Go, Acerola sported a Mimikyu costume to celebrate the Halloween Season.

2. Grimsley

Grimsley is a very minor character in the Pokemon games as he's strictly a member of Unova's Elite 4. The Elite 4 has never really been prominent in the games besides when the Player enters the Pokemon League and then spends at most 10 minutes fighting the Elite 4 member then the character is never to be seen again. You might think that Grimsley ain't much at first, until you learn his character inspiration. The creators of Pokemon inspired Grimsley off of gambling and vampires. Hence why he specializes in the Dark typing, he skin is normally really pale and that his clothes do somewhat give off a vampirish vibe. Grimsley just seeks like he'd be a treat to be around from how he looks like a Vampire and that his Elite 4 room looks like a Victorian style home. Very spooky for sure.

3. Piers

Piers, one of my all time favorite Pokemon characters, is the dark type gym leader in the Sword & Shield games on top of being the leader of his evil team: Team Yell. Well, Team Yell wasn't exactly evil, it was more they tried to be jerks to Gym Challengers in the hopes they'd drop out of the competition. Eh, evil is a sense... Piers is a prideful punk rocker who's real life inspiration is from the band KISS. Reason why I find Piers to give off the Halloween vibe or love is due to his artistic style/clothing choice and music genre. From being a dark type gymleader to being the lead of a heavy Rock band it already feels like he'd enjoy Halloween. Let's not forget that his entire artistic style revolves around wearing loads of black, appearing as if he's dead or sickly, and whereever he goes he sports a skull to some sort of capacity. He gives off Vampire vibes in all honesty. I could just be mistaking his love of Rock n Roll for liking the Halloween Season, but there's reasons why horror and Halloween season films usually consist of a Rock or Metal soundtrack.

4. Allister

The Ghost Boy himself! Allister is the Ghost gym leader of Pokemon Shield and his entire character screams Halloween and it ain't just how be sports Ghost type Pokemon. Allister is a young boy who sports a ghostly mask over his face as to hide his identity as he's a shy little boy. All of his mannerisms are reminiscent of a ghost. Yeah, no joke, this boy runs around acting like a ghost from his arm swaying walk to how he talks with his arms bent out in front of him. Let's not forget how this boy themed his entire gym. Allist decorated his gym in Halloween colors: Black, Purple & Green. On top of such, his gym challenge is like a game of pinball where the player sits in a spinning ghost teacup and hit bumpers that are monster hands. This young boy just loves all things spooky, and we're here for it!

5. Nanu

Nanu, one of the most unexpectedly important characters in the Pokemon canon, is quite the charmer. Nanu was introduced as an odd almost unsettling character in the Sun & Moon games from his sloppy appearance, lazy demeanor to his intimidating face. In the end, It turns out that Nanu wasnt just some creep who follows the player around on their adventures. Nanu is one of the most important characters in the Sun & Moon games as he's a Kahuna, a police officer as well as Acerola's uncle. So why does Nanu come off as a type of person to like or bleed Halloween Spirit? This man takes pride in the fact that he can scare people. He also specializes in the Dark typing of which can be considered a great trait for Halloween Lovers as many of our scariest and spookiest Pokemon are that of the Dark Typing. Also, with Nanu being Acerola's uncle, I'm sure that her love of ghosts has rubbed off on him. In fact, I'm 100% certain that when Halloween rolls around, Nanu & Acerola are having the time of their lives.

6. Dr. Kaminko

The most forgettable character on this list, Dr. Kaminko is a minor character from the game Pokemon XD Gale Of Darkness. He's a mad scientist who occasionally helps out the player by upgrading his technology or lending him robots. From the get go, Kaminko's laboratory is located on a VERY spooky plot of land very reminiscent of that of a neglected abandoned home. From the gloomy atmosphere, the dried up fountain, Pokemon statues that are meant to represent gargoyles, his home being surrounded by dead trees and that his lab in general IS a giant tesla coil. HUGE Frankenstein vibes here!!! It's due to where Kaminko's lab is located and that he's a mad scientist that just screams Halloween to me.

7. Shauntal

Shauntal, much like Grimsley, played a very depressingly minor role in Pokemon Black & White as their Ghost Elite 4. Shauntal's personal room IS a Haunted library with countless ghostly wisps leading the player to Shauntal. Shauntal is dressed very fun and very Gothic too. From her ghost type specialty, her haunted mansion themed room and how she dresses, I wouldn't doubt that this woman looks forward to Halloween the most every year.

8. Ingo

The least Halloween-esque character on this list, Ingo from the Pokemon Legends Arceus timeline just comes off sort of spooky. He's a man that lives day by day with amnesia so he spends his days currently as a proud member of the Pearl Clan as the Warden to Sneasler. Many call Ingo to be often cold and disconnected from everything due to his appearance and that he's an outcast in the community due to having fell from the rift in the sky JUST like the player had been. Ingo, considering he's from the past, held onto his hat and coat he formerly wore in the Black & White games and that his coat had most definitely seen some wear and tear over the years as his coat is tattered beyond belief. Maybe it's just me, but Ingo comes off as an old ghost captain.

9. Gladion

Gladion is the player's rival and Lily's older brother in the Sun & Moon games. And I'm gonna say it right now, Gladion is pretty much just an edgy teenager but we're here for it! From how Gladion was depicted as a criminal, he's dressed as if he's a villain, he specializes in the Dark typing on top of how his personality is always really cold and uninviting. Like I said, maybe it's just cause Gladion is edgy or maybe he just really likes spooky things. Maybe both?

10. Guzma

Yeah no this man would adore Halloween. Guzma is one of the main villains of Pokemon Sun & Moon as the leader of Team Skull. He takes pride in intimidating those around him, he specializes in the bug typing (which Is a rarity in the Pokemon universe) on top of how his entire evil team is inspired and themed after gangsters and bones. Even later in the game Guzma turns over a new leaf and claims he's such a jerk due to how he loves to build his ego, get into character and have fun in costume. Either Guzma would love Halloween or he'd be a theater kid if he was in school. Maybe both?
