Let's talk about love
"Taehyung, I told you he'd come today," he repeated again, not paying attention to the boy before opening the fridge. He moistened his dry lips with his tongue and checked its contents. Even though he and the younger man had had lunch together a few hours ago, he was in the mood for some trifle.
The young man he was talking to, just lowered his gaze in disappointment, his coal-black hair falling in his face. "But I was looking forward to baking gingerbread cookies together-" he began sadly, looking at Jungkook's back, but before he could even finish his thought, the elder interrupted him:
"We can bake them tomorrow," Jungkook reassured him, not even looking at him. It looked like he didn't even care, which struck the younger man a little close to the heart. He didn't like Jungkook's lackadaisical attitude all the more because they had had a serious debate with each other not long ago.
"Jungkookie, please, maybe we can make them before Mr. Kim arrives," he didn't give in and continued to try to talk his lover down, "Christmas is in two days and we haven't baked anything yet," he finally added and stood up from the barstool. "I can pick something simple that will be done quickly so you can make it in time to your meeting and at the same time we will get to do something together," he continued to persuade him. He thought that giving Jungkook a reason for the two of them to compromise would help, and that Jungkook would agree to his proposal.
"We did something together last night and I liked that meeting a lot more," Jungkook grinned and finally looked at the younger one to check his reaction - Taehyung's immediately stopped breathing and his cheeks unconsciously turned red, causing Jungkook to bite his lip and close the fridge with his right hand even though he hadn't taken anything out of it at all.
"Only t-this time we'd have different kind of f-fun," Taehyung swallowed, because he didn't like the meaning of Jungkook's words, and the fact that he was slowly approaching him didn't make him feel any better either.
"Exactly," the elder nodded with a wide smile, and when Taehyung had nowhere else to retreat, he gently pushed him against the kitchen counter. He grabbed the younger man's shoulders and gently began to massage them. As soon as he saw goosebumps appear on Taehyung's neck, his grin deepened even more.
"Didn't you say that you didn't have time for me?" Taehyung squinted his eyes and placed his hands on Jungkook's chest to maintain some sort of distance between them.
"I'll make time for you," the elder replied, after which he leaned forward, and the second he was about to place his lips on Taehyung's soft skin, Taehyung pushed into him hard, and before he could react in any way, the young man disappeared out of his reach. "What was that supposed to mean?" He raised his eyebrows in confusion and immediately turned to follow him, but did not come any closer.
"On the lower right, on the bottom shelf, there is a wooden board. You can take it out and put it on the sideboard," Taehyung spoke, not noticing the change in Jungkook's voice. He didn't pay much attention to it and walked over to the cabinet on the other side to pull out a box containing the baking molds he had managed to get at the store a few days ago.
It was difficult, considering Jungkook wouldn't let him out without his personal bodyguards reporting every single detail to him. Jungkook justified it by saying that he was doing it for his safety because there were enemies out there who were ready to intervene at any time and take away what was most precious to him, what was very close to his heart - that is, Taehyung.
"Why would I do that?" Jungkook demanded an answer, folding his arms across his chest. He watched Taehyung's footsteps, and once he stood on his tiptoes to reach the top cabinet since he was slightly shorter, he had to clear his throat. Thanks to that act, Taehyung's muscles flexed, and he had a beautiful view of his backside.
"Because you said that you'll make time for me now, which means we'll be baking together," Taehyung grinned back and excitedly picked up the box, which made loud noises because of his quick movements. "So I'll teach you how to make gingerbread," he explained logically, looking at Jungkook. He waited to see how he would react since he kind of suspected that he would fight it, but he didn't lose hope. He just didn't give him a choice and waited until he finally adapted.
"Taehyung-" Jungkook began, taking a ragged breath.
"Come on," the younger one urged him, "hurry up because we're going to make gingerbread houses. We've got to get it all done because you've got that meeting in less than two hours," he gave him a mischievous grin and set the box on the table, which he had cleaned up earlier.
Pushing his tongue on the inside of his cheek to ward off the vulgar remarks, Jungkook clenched his fists tightly and mentally counted to eight in an attempt to calm himself.
Eventually, however, he did exactly what the younger man wanted him to do and removed the wooden board from the lower shelves to put it on the kitchen counter. "Good enough?" He uttered ironically, the corners of his lips lifting into a false smile.
"Well done," Taehyung praised him, not minding the fact that he had literally forced Jungkook to do it because, after all, his lover was capable of doing anything for him.
"You can take the dough out of the fridge, it's in a white bowl," he told him further instructions, while he opened the box and took out the plastic bag containing the baking molds. He made his way to the sink, directly dumping the necessary items into it. With his free hand, he turned on the tap and began to wash the molds.
At that time Jungkook walked over to the refrigerator and opened it again. When he had done so a few minutes ago, he hadn't noticed the white-colored bowl at all that contained the brown substance. He uncertainly grabbed it and closed the door with his other hand. It may have been his kitchen, but it contained things, unlike anything he had ever seen before. Why didn't he have any idea until now that such a thing was even here?
"Lay it down here." Taehyung gestured with his right elbow to the open space next to him, after which he did so and placed the object in question on the kitchen counter.
"You planned this, didn't you?" Jungkook stated suspiciously, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"Of course," Taehyung replied with a boxy smile, "in my home country, baking honey gingerbread is considered a tradition, especially at Christmas," he explained, turning back to the sink. With wet fingers, he turned off the water and placed the molds on a cloth he had prepared in advance.
Jungkook knew that Taehyung was from Germany, he was born there, and when he was five years old, he and his parents moved back to Korea. However, he had no idea that they celebrated such a thing as he was unfamiliar with European customs.
Once Taehyung dried his hands, he turned back to Jungkook, who had been watching him all this time, and took the dough from the bowl. "Now let's roll out the dough so we can shape the gingerbread cookies later," he then explained, as he didn't miss Jungkook's curious expression. He didn't look the happiest, rather the offended look on his face reminded him of a child who wasn't happy with the situation because it wasn't to his liking.
However, Jungkook's gloomy demeanor didn't last long, because after a while, when Taehyung showed him everything in detail, he started to enjoy it as well. He didn't think that such an activity would be able to evoke positive emotions in him, and certainly not that he would be able to laugh so much while doing it. Though in Taehyung's presence, anything was possible, as his company had a calming effect on him and made him change his angry thoughts into happy ones with any activity.
If his bodyguards saw him now - standing at the kitchen counter, baking some kind of cake, eating raw dough at the same time, listening to Christmas songs with his lover and allowing him to order him around, to make mocking allusions to him; they would probably lose all the respect they had for him. However, because of the love he felt for Taehyung, he was willing to put any harsh reality aside and focus on this moment.
Taehyung was proof that even a man like Jungkook had the right to fall in love because even though the younger one could have chosen any other person, out of all the possibilities, he chose him.
"See? It didn't even hurt," Taehyung said as he put the last baking sheet in the oven. In total, the oven could fit up to eight sheets, but since they only needed five, because there were only two of them and it was enough for both of them, it had the advantage of being completely done in a few minutes. "Now we'll wait ten minutes, maybe fifteen, and we'll be done,' he smiled contentedly and looked at the tidy sink. In the time it took Jungkook to shape the gingerbread men, he was putting the dirty dishes back in their previous places.
As soon as he felt the elder's arms around his waist, he grabbed Jungkook's hands and allowed himself to be hugged. "What would you like to have for Christmas?" Jungkook asked him and started kissing his neck gently. The touch made him shiver all over, but he tried to act like it didn't do anything to him.
"To be together," the younger one replied calmly, his eyes fixed on Jungkook. He knew he could support the weight of their bodies and checked the contents of the oven just to be sure something unforeseen wouldn't happen.
"That goes without saying," he laughed, his laughter tickling him slightly, causing him to chuckle himself. "But I want to know if there's anything in particular that you desire," Jungkook clarified his question, moving to the other side, "you know I'll grant you anything," he assured him.
"I have you, so I don't need anything else," Taehyung assured him, closing his eyes contentedly and listening to the pleasant melody coming from the radio beside them.
"That was cliché, Taehyung, be more original," Jungkook teased, and within a second he had the younger man turning a hundred and eighty degrees. "I thought you'd gotten used to me over the years, you don't have to be shy with me," he declared, his left hand gently gripping Taehyung's nape, to which the younger one tilted his head a little so Jungkook could have better access, "go ahead," he gave him another wet kiss on his skin, teasing him again.
"Did you say anything?" Taehyung slightly closed his eyelids due to the incoming pleasure that was slowly entering his brain cells.
"Hmm," Jungkook nodded, his other arm still wrapped around the younger man's waist, pulling Taehyung much closer to him than before. He added his teeth to the innocent kiss, gently pinching Taehyung's skin between them.
Taehyung sighed weakly, gripping Jungkook's suit tighter with both hands to at least somehow ease the tension that was beginning to take hold of him. "I w-wish," he began, taking a deep breath and moving his head to the side so Jungkook could have better access, "that all the children at the Seoul orphanage would get nice presents," he voiced his wish and closed his eyes definitively, indulging in Jungkook's nice touch.
However, Jungkook himself immediately pulled away at those words and looked at his lover in confusion. "What?" He wrinkled his face in confusion and raised his eyebrows. His hand that so far was wrapped around the younger man's neck dropped down to his side and grabbed his hip.
"You heard me," Taehyung blinked innocently and bit his lip to keep from grinning.
"That's not a present for you," Jungkook continued.
"But it will make me happy because I'll see how happy those little kids are," Taehyung explained his idea, running his fingers gently over Jungkook's chest. "And you want me to be happy, don't you?" He asked him a rhetorical question because he knew the answer very well.
Although he had been preparing his wish for a while, as he had been meaning to ask Jungkook for a while now - given the amount of money he had, he knew it wouldn't be a problem, he wasn't expecting the reaction he got.
Jungkook immediately attacked him. But in a nice way. His lips attacked his and he began to kiss him roughly. He didn't even give him time to recover before grabbing his ass, signaling him to jump on him, and as soon as Taehyung did so, Jungkook nimbly spun him around and sat him down on the kitchen counter. Taehyung mindlessly wrapped his arms around Jungkook's neck and wrapped his legs around him as well. He didn't let him pull away from him and returned the rough kisses matching his pace.
Jungkook felt aroused by Taehyung's cuteness. He adored the way he always thought of others and tried to help everyone around him. No matter how serious the situation he was in was, he would seek help for others first, even if they were strangers. He had never met such a person before, so as soon as he met the younger man, he knew that he wouldn't let him leave him and would keep him close to him.
"I love you," he uttered between kisses, pulling away slightly, as he placed messy kisses on his face - right or left cheek, chin, nose, forehead; absolutely everywhere. It was as if he was afraid that Taehyung would melt through his fingers. "I love you so madly," he continued his confession, his hands wandering everywhere in an attempt to touch every part of his body, making sure that he wasn't dreaming and Taehyung wasn't his beautiful dream.
"M-me t-too," Taehyung's breathing became frighteningly irregular as his heart pounded furiously in his chest, making his lips part. Jungkook's proximity had a strange effect on him, and just being around him made him lose his sanity, which hadn't left him at other times.
He allowed Jungkook to show him that he meant his words - he enjoyed his displays of affection as he treated him gently, carefully kissing every part of his face, not forgetting any spot, and marking his neck with more signs of his passion. It was all too hypnotic, his lips had the amazing power to totally infatuate him and make him think of nothing else, to completely focus on the moment at hand, where every torment melted away.
He had no idea how long he'd been indulging in Jungkook's pleasurable touches. He didn't know how much time had passed since Jungkook had made it impossible for him to have a grasp on reality. He was breathing heavily, his lips swollen from the intense kissing with the elder. Jungkook had put him exactly where he always was - in a mood where he craved nothing more but reaching heaven.
"Um, excuse me," an unfamiliar clearing of the throat interrupted them, to which Taehyung was the first to react, to the fact that a stranger was in their kitchen and disconnected their lips. That made Jungkook growl furiously, pulling away from his lover, but not too far away so he wouldn't feel his desire on himself. "I was waiting in the hall, but when I smelled something burning, I followed the smell just to be sure, to check if anything was burning. I didn't know you were here. I'm sorry if I disturbed you," Mr. Kim clarified his actions and took a few steps back, startled by Jungkook's uncomfortable gaze that burned his insides and he could feel it gnawing at his bones.
Once he finished speaking, it took only two seconds for Taehyung to understand the content of the man's words before he too smelled the stench of burnt cookies. "Ohh, Jungkook," he exclaimed unhappily, to which Jungkook stepped back to give the younger man space, "our gingerbread cookies are burnt," he stated sadly and immediately turned off the oven.
Jungkook hadn't even realized that fifteen minutes had passed since they'd put the gingerbread cookies in the oven. It didn't bother him personally, since he could afford to have someone else make them, so they didn't have to worry about not having anything on the Christmas table, but he was more bothered by Taehyung's reaction since he looked like he was genuinely sorry. Therefore, for a brief moment, he ignored the older man standing at the entrance to the kitchen and walked over to his lover.
"It's okay, Taehyung," he gently grabbed his hip and squeezed it gently, "when I come back, we can do it again, and this time I'll do it all by myself," he tried to calm him down, not wanting to see the sadness on his face. He didn't like it when Taehyung was worried about something, he hated it when he was worried about some stupid thing or, heaven forbid, someone.
"Really?" Taehyung immediately looked at him. Depressing thoughts were beginning to invade his mind as he felt sorry for how his own carelessness had caused the food to go to waste. Moreover, it took him a lot of effort to convince the elder. That was why he was surprised when Jungkook suggested that he would do it alone. "Do you promise?" He squinted his eyes a little as a slight doubt appeared in his voice, waiting for Jungkook's reaction.
"I promise." He repeated again, and without a warning gave him a quick kiss that assured him he meant his words. "When I get back from the meeting, I'll be all yours," he kissed him again, not minding that a stranger was watching them - Taehyung was much more important to him. "In that time, get everything ready," he slapped him on the butt as a sign that he wasn't joking, causing Taehyung to jump weakly as he hadn't expected Jungkook to do that. The younger man's reaction made Jungkook smirk. "I'll hurry," he finally added before kissing him briefly one last time and pulling away.
Taehyung didn't say anything, just stared at the departing Jungkook, who immediately switched into the working phase of himself. He watched as he began to interact with the strange man. The latter handed him some documents, Taehyung had no idea what they contained. He put his trembling fingers to his lips in order to feel Jungkook's touch again and smiled to himself. A warming sensation filled his insides, making adrenaline pump through his blood.
But as soon as he smelled the stench of burning cookies again, his eyes widened and he hit his forehead in surprise. He had completely forgotten that he had left those gingerbread cookies there, even though they had been burnt. Therefore, he immediately grabbed the towels and opened the oven. A greater stench, perhaps even worse than before, came from inside of the oven, permeating the room.
Taehyung sighed unhappily as it was clear to him that he would have to scrape the burnt cookies off the baking sheets for the next while.

Let's talk about love
Everywhere I go, all the places that I've been
Every smile is a new horizon on a land I've never seen
There are people around the world, different faces, different names
But there's one true emotion that reminds me we're the same
Let's talk about love
From the laughter of a child to the tears of a grown man
There's a thread that runs right through us and helps us understand
As subtle as a breeze that fans a flicker to a flame
From the very first sweet melody to the very last refrain
Let's talk about love
Let's talk about us
Let's talk about life
Let's talk about trust
Let's talk about love
It's the king of all who live and the queen of all good hearts
It's the ace you may keep up your sleeve 'til the name is all but lost
As deep as any sea, with the rage of any storm
But as gentle as a falling leaf on any autumn morn'
Let's talk about love
Let's talk about us
Let's talk about life
Let's talk about trust
it's all we're needin'
(Let's talk about us) the air we're breathin'
(Let's talk about life) I wanna know you
(Let's talk about trust) I wanna show you
Everywhere I go, all the places that I've been
Every smile is a new horizon on a land I've never seen
There are people around the world, different faces, different names

Let's talk about us
Let's talk about life
Let's talk about trust
Let's talk about love
Let's talk about love
That's all we needin'

(Let's talk about love) the air we're breatin'
(Let's talk about love) baby
(Let's talk about love) ooh, it's in the air that we breathe
it's all we're needin'
