Prologue

"Are you sure that they will try to rise?" Zeus asks.

"Positive," Athena says. " They must unite, or Olympus will fall!"

"They will become too powerful."

"The kittens do not want power," Bast says.

"That is true," Odin says. "I have been watching the young demigods."

"Fine," Zeus grumbled. "All in favor?"

Every one except Zeus raises their hand.

"Well," Hades says way too calmly, " I suppose it is time for my daughter to learn her true identity."

Chapter 1

Gabby

Hi there! This is the story of how my life went to hell. And by hell, I mean Helheim, the Underworld for Greeks and Egyptians and definitely not Valhalla. I wouldn't be surprised if the hell the Christians believe in is real or if whatever the Aztecs believed.

Wait.

They don't exist, right?

I'm just not going to think of that right now.

I should start from the beginning.

I'm Gabriella Adams. I have the blood of the Pharaohs and I have known ever since I was 5.

That is very early.

How did I figure it out?

Well, I have always been able to catch onto things easily. So I figured out by reading.

Yes, I said reading.

I saw things and I read. After reading I discovered Egyptian mythology.

And then it just happened.

A few days later my mom took me to the First Nome where I trained as an Elementalist. I also earned a leading role in the 46th Nome in Florida.

As I said, I was 5 then.

Now I'm 14 and in March my best friend, Isabella or Izzy, and I went on an assignment.

We had to go to New York and teach some people at the 21st Nome some combat, without magic.

We also need to go to school.

We went to Goode High.

Within the first week or so, Izzy and I met Nico di Angelo and Will Solace. We became very close.

I guess it's because Nico and I are "emo" though I hate it when people call me that. I mean just because I like rock and wear black doesn't mean that I'm emo. I'm pretty cheerful and sarcastic and kinda social? The social part I can get but everything else?

Anyway, one day we were eating lunch trying to be normal for once in our lives.

Then something came through the roof of the cafeteria.

A monster that surprised everyone.

Note the sarcasm.

So I say, "Great. You two get to safety from that thing!"

I also act so I don't think that they suspected anything.

Welp, I was wrong.

What's worse is that the monster was Greek.

So Nico says, " Wait can you see it?"

Izzy and I share a look.

"Ha-di!" I scream.

The hieroglyphs glow on the head of whatever it was and it explodes into dust. Which I thought was weird. Normally monsters turn into sand...

"Well, that just happened," Will says breaking the tension.

"What cabin are you?" Nico asks.

"I'm sorry," I say. "What in the name of Ra do you mean by cabin?"

"Who's Ra?" Nico and Will ask in unison.

"The Egyptian sun god," Izzy answers. "And back to our question. What do you mean by cabin?"

"Wait EGYPTIAN!" Will screams.

"You mean that you do not have the blood of the Pharaohs?"

"I'm Greek!"

"Wow, Solace way to freak them out," Nico says.

"They just did the same thing to us!"

"Okay, okay," I say. "So you have a camp I think? And we have a house that we train in."

"A house?" Will says.

It would probably be better if we showed you," Izzy says.

Chapter 2

Isabella/Izzy

"Welcome to the 46th Nome!" I say.

Gabby made a portal taking us to Florida.

"So, you mean that you have a mansion with an unlimited amount of rooms and a place to train?" Will asks after we explain all the stuff that has to do with being an Egyptian magician.

"Yep," says a familiar voice.

"Annabeth?" we scream in unison.

"I've been keeping this a secret from you guys forever now!" She says.

Sadie then pops up out of nowhere. I honestly don't know how in the name of Ra she does that.

"We met a while back after the war with Apophis and Gaea, there was this thing with Setne..."

She tells us the story and then Annabeth's phone starts to ring.

"It's my cousin, Magnus," she says.

"It's completely fine if you need to talk to him," Gabby says. "If you want there is a room upstairs that you can use. Great service there."

"Doesn't Zeph go there?" I ask.

"No, not now anyway," says a girl.

I turn around to see Stella, our senior magician. (Even if Gabby and I taught her almost everything that she knows) She is about 5'7 even if she is 19, and has paler skin with tons of freckles.

You might see her and think Wow she looks pathetic.

So did I, but that changed fast.

Stella is one of the best combat magicians I have met and I'm pretty good friends with the Kanes.

How we all got placed in the Nome of underdogs, I don't know.

Gabby is very powerful. She was the only magician that could read the music part of the Book of Thoth.

Yes, I said the Book of Thoth.

Our Chief Lector, Amos Kane, wanted to better understand it so he called out to all the elementals to read it.

Stella is a combat magician. We got her about 3 years ago, just before the old chief lector passed. May his soul be at rest with Osiris. When she came here we thought her some more tricks and she was really good.

Zephaniah (Zef-an-I-uh the I is "strong") or Zeph is good with Earth magic. We got him 6 years ago when we first started teaching older magicians. But Zeph was 15, a year older than Gabby and me, so it wasn't hard to teach him simple spells. Btw he is 15 now not 21

Lucas (Don't worry you will meet him soon) is new. None of us know what he is good at. But that's okay. I think that we will find out soon enough. He is 15 and is Zeph's best friend. It has caused many gaming wars...

Melani (You will also meet her soon) is rare. By rare I mean the only deaf magician alive. She is Stella's younger sister and looks like her but she is a lot taller. She also specializes in air or sky or whatever you call it. Basically she follows the path of Nut. And she is dating Zeph. We got her with Stella.

And then there's me.

Isabella.

I have the rarest path from all the gods.

I'm a diviner.

It's like an elemental but with the ability to see small parts of the future.

I found out that I had the blood of the Pharaohs when I was 6. Just a year after Gabby.

The people at my Nome along with a few others like Carter, Sadie, Felix (Stella and Melani's little brother), and Zia know that I am a diviner.

Amos let me train with him a few times and I got to understand my powers a little bit better.

But now, they are getting out of control.

Every night something happens.

Only Gabby knows this, and because of our ability to act extremely well, it's been easy to hide it.

But now I can tell that it's starting to get to her.

Because the only other time that this happened was when Apophis was rising and now I have heard voices. Multiple voices. I can't see or hear them, well I can hear them but like it's more of a recording with a lot of static.

And we just found out that there are multiple myths.

It's just a coincidence.

Right?

Chapter 3

Nico

I have been to Tartarus and back and my mind wasn't as expanded as it is today.

The people at the Nome seem decent enough.

I will probably never talk to them.

But this is a lot to take in.

First I find some random exchange students that just so happen to know each other and one is just like me?

And by just like me I mean it's like I had a fraternal twin all my life.

But that quickly changed.

Gabby looks a lot like Hazel. Gabby just has lighter skin and her hair is more of a kinky curly than just plain frizzy curly.

Izzy (Yes I call her that. No I do not know why I started calling her that I just did and you will deal with it) is about me and Gabby's height and Hispanic with long dark hair and black glasses.

"So all this time," I say. "You knew that they exist and you don't tell me?"

"Funny," Annabeth says. "You did the same thing to Percy and me."

"That was majorly different."

"Was it really?"

"Stella," Gabby says. "Where is my dog?"

"Uhh..." Stella answers.

"Wow, you are really reassuring!"

"He's probably with Lucas," Izzy says. " I think and I hope."

"Ahem," Will clears his throat. "Dog? You never mentioned a dog."

"Well, I couldn't because of your ranting, Will," Gabby says.

"Well here's an idea," Sadie says with her fading British accent. "Find your dog!"

"No shit Sherlock," Gabby says.

I go and sit on a nearby couch. (This place has a ton) 

Then I hear growling from under my feet.

I look down to see a hellhound that looks a lot like a Saint Bernard.

"Hey, uh Gabby?" I say.

"Yeah?"

"Does your dog so happen to be a Saint Bernard?"

"Shit," Stella says.

"Kai come here!" Izzy says.

The hellhound gets up and walks to her.

"I had no idea that you were there!" Gabby says. " Good boy!"

Out of nowhere a piece of bacon comes into her hand and is fed to the dog.

"Who names their dog Kai?" Sadie says.

"Trust me it wasn't my idea. I wanted to name him Beethoven," Gabby responds.

"Beethoven?"

Will's mouth starts to hang open. "You've never seen that movie?"

"Who would watch a movie about Beethoven willingly?"

Percy, who I think came here with Annabeth, says, "It's a dog movie."

"Ohhhhh."

"Yeah," Gabby says.

"Gabby?" I hear a voice behind me say.

"Hey, Lucas!" Gabby says.

"Who are... you know," he says.

"Uh," Stella says. "I don't think that we should tell you. Names are very, very powerful in Egypt."

He glares at her. Stella glares back.

"Ohhhkay," Izzy says breaking the tension. "Honestly we have broken the rules so many times, I don't think that it matters anymore. So, let's start over, and if you have anything to show us about Greek stuff, please feel free to freak us out."

"Sure, I'll get Leo," Percy says.

"Please don't," I say. I don't tell him why because I know for a fact that he knows why. I don't want to be annoyed today.

"Then storytime with Greeks an Egyptians!" Percy says.

"Wait," Gabby says.

"Yeah, please wait," Will says. "My brain needs time to expand."

"I-I-I just figured out about this stuff," Lucas says. "And now you want to tell me that there are more! I need some major brain expansion time!"

"Well, if you would let me continue," Gabby says. "I could explain some stuff. But, first, we need Melani and Zeph to come back. And I assume that Chief Lector Amos knows about this?" The last question was directed to Carter and Sadie. Yes, Carter was here. He appeared next to Sadie.

"Yes," Carter says. "He knows."

"Okay. And I'm just going to assume that you know about more myths?"

"Looking at you, Percy and Annabeth," Izzy says.

"I'll just call Magnus," Annabeth.

"And tell him where we are," Stella says.

"We still need to wait for Zeph and Melani," Izzy says.

"And don't forget our most recent new-comer!" Stella says.

Izzy and Gabby look at each other in confusion, "What?" they ask in unison.

"I-It's Luis," Lucas says.

"Hey, Annabeth. Percy. And other random people that I don't know."

"Is that Magnus?" Gabby asks.

"Yeah," he answers. "Why?"

"Well let's wait a little longer," Will says. "Get your friends and prepare for your mind to explode!"

"There are easier things to do in life," Gabby says.

"Well, I just found out that-"

"Don't finish that sentence," Lucas says.

"Hey..."I hear a voice behind me say.

A girl next to him signs something.

"Well if I knew what they were talking about I would tell you," the guy says in response to the girl as if she could hear him.

"Okay, I'm just going to..."

Another guy enters. He was tall and Hispanic with long black hair.

"Is that the newbie," Gabby asks.

"Yeah," Stella answers.

"He's going to die fast," Sadie says.

"What?" Everyone other than Gabby Sadie and Izzy says in unison.

"Long story short-" Izzy starts and she passes out.

"Great," Gabby says " Just what we needed a vision!"

"What do you see?" Stella asks slightly annoyed.

"A lot of people," Izzy says. " And a girl with red hair. She is saying something that sounds like a prophecy."

That got the girls attention. She signed something.

"Melani wants to know what the girl is saying," Gabby says.

" I-I can't hear her anymore. It's not the same voice. It's like a different person. Like she's hosting a god."

"She's not," Annabeth says. "That is Rachel Dare, our Oracle."

"That is great but do me a favor and be quiet for a minute," Izzy says. "Thank you. It's mostly about all myths uniting and facing underworlds." She then opens her eyes and gets up.

"It isn't that big of a deal."

" It is," Magnus says. " The Norns-"

"The what now?" Stella says.

"It's a Norse thing," Gabby says. " Please continue."

"The Norns said a similar prophecy when this guy, Jason, came in."

I could feel my face paling. Jason has died but his soul wasn't in the Underworld...

"Was his name Jason Grace?" I ask.

"Yeah," says a guy with green hair. " How did you know?"

"I think that now would be a good time to share stories," Annabeth says.

Chapter 4

Luis

What. The. Fuck.

I found out that I had the blood of the Pharaohs 2 days ago.

2 DAYS AGO!

I cannot.

When I told Zeph this he told Gabby.

"You didn't go to the 1st Nome?" She asks.

"No!" I say about an octave higher than usual. "Was I supposed to?"

"Yes."

"Well, Gabby cut him some slack," Stella says, saving my life. "He came here with cheese demons on his tail."

"Cheese demons? Holy... wow," Izzy says.

" He survived cheese demons?" Gabby asks.

"Okay, I'm just going to ask," Magnus says. "What is so scary about cheese?"

"Cheese demons. There is a difference," Stella says. "And uh, everything."

"Stella," Izzy says.

"What? I answered his questions!"

"Kurt Cobain Jr. probably doesn't have that mind expansion ability," Gabby says.

"Kurt Cobain Jr?" Magnus asks.

"Well you do look like him," Sam says.

Oh, wow. I remembered all of their names! I'm proud of my self.

"Please do not call me that. Even Maggie is better than that..."

"Maggie?" We all ask in unison. Other than Alex and Magnus.

"Okay, whatever but back to the-" Zeph says then passes out.

Melani looks shocked and tries to wake up her boyfriend.

When he wakes up his eyes are golden and he has a sinister grin on his face.

"Well, well, well," he says in a voice that was definitely not his.

Melani looked very confused being deaf.

I took an ASL class in middle school so I can sign fluently.

Why are his eyes gold? She asks.

I don't know! Gabby replied.

Well, can you please figure it out. I want my boyfriend back.

"What are you guys saying?" Percy asks.

"Ah, the famous Percy Jackson," Zeph but not Zeph says. "Your friend Leo Valdez trapped a few friends of mine in a robot. I believe that he died, but now you can pay the price."

Gabby calmly walks over and judo flips Zeph and ties him in some sort of magical rope.

"Stella?"

"What, Gabby?" Stella groans in response. "You clearly have the god in him handled."

"He's not a host first off. And second I do not have him 'handled'. Third, please let that lovely voice of yours flow and sing so I can make this thing get out of Zeph."

I was very confused. "How the fuck is singing going to help?"

Gabby, Izzy, and Stella share a knowing look.

"Trust us," Izzy says.

"Trust goes both ways," I answer. And I meant it. I just met Gabby and Izzy and coming from a past full a betrayal, I'm cautious now.

Gabby has a smile tugging at her lips.

It was weird.

It was like I just made someone who never shows emotion almost smile.

Ok, wow I really need help.

"I like you, newbie," Gabby says. Then she turns to Stella.

"Please."

"No."

Gabby then pulls out a bag of chocolate from nowhere. "Stell, I think that you should. Or else this chocolate will land in the wrong hands."

Stella looked longingly at the chocolate.

"I hate you. You know that right."

"Yep."

"Good."

Then she started to sing in the most angelic voice ever.

I think that the song was called when the party's over.

After the song, I was in tears.

Everyone except Gabby, Nico, Melani, Hearth, and Stella herself, was also in tears.

Zeph but not Zeph was crying and he said, "Oh gods, that was good."

"Now," Gabby starts. "You will swear on the feather of truth that you will leave this body and never possess anyone or anything ever again."

"What?"

"Say it!" She snaps.

"I-I swear on the feather of truth."

Then some golden air came out of Zeph's mouth and he passes out again.

Gabby and Izzy exchange nervous glances but Gabby covers it up with a smirk.

"Billie Eilish?"

"Yeah, your welcome Isabella," Stella says.

"Thank you!" Izzy says.

"Okay I think that my mind has fully absorbed this information," Will says.

Gabby laughs without humor. "Sit back down Will."

"No."

"Oh, shit," Stella says.

Gabby smiles.

Like a full-on smile.

And she looks beautiful with a smile on her face.

She notices me staring and blushing and says, "Are you going keep gaping or..."

I turn and Alex laughs.

This is great.

"Welp," Sadie says saving my life. "I need to find out who is connected to this amulet. It's for a hybrid Egyptian and the person who is meant to wear it is meant to fight in the biggest war in mythical history! Anyone want to see if it's you?"

Oh, hell yes! Melani signs

"Just hold out your hand and it will fly into your grasp."

She does it and nothing happens.

Dammit! I really wanted to die young and fight in the biggest mythical war. Melani signs.

Gabby, Stella, and Izzy exchange nervous glances.

"I want to!" Izzy says. The same result.

Izzy shrugs.

Next is Stella, then Lucas, then Zeph who woke up two seconds ago.

None of them.

I go and nothing happens to that amulet but a red amulet flies into my hand.

Gabby's face pales.

She grabs my arm and tells Stella and Izzy to follow her.

She then yanks my arm and pulls me into a room.

"We need to talk."

Chapter 5

Stella

This was bad.

Like bad.

Why is it so bad to the point that I'm having a mental breakdown?

BECAUSE THAT AMULET MEANS THAT THE FUCKING WAR IS COMING!

Okay, let me rewind.

The red amulet is for someone who is meant to fight in the war and is the element of fire.

And it will only claim someone if the war is starting.

When Gabby told Luis this he cried, gained his wits, then cried again.

Meanwhile, Izzy, Gabby, and I are having mental breakdowns.

Sadie comes inside of my room, "Gabby, I thank that you should try this amulet,"

She takes out the same one that was the most dangerous.

"Uh, no," Gabby says.

"Why not?"

"Because I know for a fact that it's not me."

Sadie rolls her eyes.

But I can't blame Gabby.

We are all underdogs. There is no way that we are meant to be a large part of the biggest war in history.

Right?

Yes.

I'm absolutely positive that we are not going to be a big part of this fucking war.

That's not even how Egypt is.

We don't run errands for the gods, we just protect them.

And trust me, the gods don't need protection that much. And even if they do need protection, they wouldn't want us to do it.

Unless...

No.

It's impossible.

"Gabby," Sadie says. "You don't give yourself enough credit."

"Don't care. I am not trying it."

"Okay, I'm going to get out now," Luis says.

"Wait, did you tell him?" Sadie asks.

"Yes, Sadie," I say annoyed. "He deserves to know and he didn't faint, so I'm guessing that he took the information pretty well, unlike when he found out who he was."

He fainted about 3 times during the storytelling thing.

"Well, I suggest that you go now."

"I was about to," Gabby says. "Before you decided to get in front of the door."

"Gabby," Izzy says. "I this is kinda off topic but shouldn't they know. About, you know, the visions?"

That got my attention. "Visions?"

"I've been hearing these-"

"Just say it in front of them," Gabby says.

"Gabby?" I ask.

"Mmhmm."

"Can I please have my chocolate?"

Gabby takes out the chocolate and walks out of the room.

I really hate her, but I love her as a sister at the same time.

"Excuse you!" I scream obnoxiously as I follow Gabby into the living room. "One does not simply steal someone's chocolate!"

Gabby rolls her eyes over dramatically. "Relax, Stell. I'm just taking out the milk chocolate."

WHAT.

"Bitch, those are the best ones and you know it."

"Maybe, but then again, maybe not."

I open the Duat and take out my curved sword.

I forgot what it's called.

Please don't tell Carter I said that.

Anyway, the curvy sword thingy is pointed at Gabby's neck.

"Chocolate," I say. "Now."

She hands me the chocolate.

"Thank you."

Chapter 6

Magnus

"So you can see the future, and you have visions all the time?" Blitz asks.

"Wow," Izzy says. "When you say it like that it almost sounds cool. But in summary, yes."

I'm an enherji that does at least once a day.

And yet everyone here has fought in many wars and survived and they are not having mental breakdowns.

When I told them this Stella said, "Oh, trust me, we are having a shit ton of mental breakdowns."

"Yeah," Gabby says. "We just know how to hide it."

Oh.

Alex and I already knew about the wonders of Greek myths, but we didn't know about Egypt.

Gotta love the gods!

If you didn't sense the sarcasm, it's there.

After that horrifying 2 hours of talking to them, Melani gets up and walks out of the room.

When she came back she signs, I think that there is a god outside.

No one there pays attention except Hearth.

They never listen, do they? Hearth signs.

Yeah, hearing people suck.

That got a half-smile from Hearth. Which was his equivalent to dying of laughter.

I know.  Hearth signs.

Melani smiles, it's kinda cute. She doesn't seem like the type to do that very often.

She claps her hands, this time Gabby notices over the screaming.

What is it? Gabby asks.

There is a god outside idiot.  Melani signs in response.

Gabby groans. "Why?" She says out loud.

Well, I don't know. What if we asked the god what he wants?

Screw you.

I have a boyfriend.

I swear-

You swear what?

Gabby then makes a gesture that you don't need to know ASL to understand.

Wow, Melani signs. You are so kind.

I laugh, "You two have an interesting relationship."

"Who, us?" Gabby asks.

I nod.

Why thank you. Melani signs.

Gabby rolls her eyes and walks into the direction of the god.

"Hi, I'm Heimdal!" Heimdal says in his amazing puberty voice.

"Hello, Heimdal," Gabby says.

"Hi," Heimdal repeats.

"So... care to state your business?"

"Oh! I came here to transport a few demigods for you!"

Oh.

Then all I see is black.

Chapter 7

Inge

Why is he alive?

I don't understand, Hearth said that he died as a ring dragon.

I know that I'm not supposed to hate my "master", but no other elf treats a hulder like this.

He whips me again with his belt.

He leans in close and I try my best to not cry.

"Now," he says. "I want information on my future wife, Piper McLean."

"B-but sir," I start. "Didn't they want you to marry S-S-Stella or Isabella, or G-Gabriella?"

He contemplates this for a moment.

"They said that I didn't need to, but it would be best to do one of those 3. If I recall, they said 'One of those 3 would be best, but, it would also be very challenging. Take your pick. Anyone of the children will be good.' I saw the lovely Piper and I think that she is the one. Now, how dare you try to question me!" I brace myself for impact but all I see is black.

I land on a girl who is really, really attractive.

She must be Piper!

Then she pushes me off of her.

"Ow!"

"Well, you can't just fly out of the Duat and fall on an innocent magician and expect them to not push you, also you are hea-" that is the first time that she looks at me, and wow.

"H-hi," Piper says.

"Smooth," says a girl next to her.

"Shut up."

"I'm sorry," I start. "But is your name Piper?"

She looks shocked. "Me?" says the very attractive girl.

I nod.

"Uh, no. I'm Stella," she pauses for a moment. "And you are..."

"Oh, um Inge."

We stare at each other awkwardly.

"Okay... I don't really wanna third wheel so can you just, uh, I don't know, um, stop," says the girl next to Stella.

We introduce our selves, and it turns out that other people appeared here out of nowhere too.

"JASON GRACE!"

After about an hour of explaining yelling crying and fainting, we got to know each other a little bit more.

You guys know their stories so I'm not going to explain that.

I mean Percy and Annabeth could be 10 books long! (A/N See what I did there?)

But back to us "newbies" or "underdogs".

Let's start with the following:

WE ARE NOT WEAK!!!!

It was my 10th birthday, and I was so happy. I was finally becoming a teenager!

But that's not the only reason I was excited.

Today is the day that I will come out to my parents, and I'm confident that they will accept me.

I've known that I was gay for about a year now and my brother and sister accepted me, my parents go to pride marches all the time, so why wouldn't they accept me?

Well, I was wrong and then I was kicked out of my house!

Fun, right.

My parents sucked, they made Melani learn how to talk even if she was deaf, and my parents would always want us to be more, like being descended from Cleopatra wasn't enough.

I was on the streets for 3 years, and somehow, I found Melani again.

It was the best day of my life, and we ran all over Florida until 2 years ago when we came here.

I found out that Felix was okay some time afterward.

Now to heredity.

Cleopatra SUCKS.

You can inherit one of three things:

Beauty

Flaws

And mix

I can the conclusion that I was a beauty, Melani was flawed, and Felix was the mix.

We all have the curse, we will be heartbroken until we find the one that we are meant to die with, and by heartbroken I don't mean your classic break up, I mean cheating, abuse, and more.

Melani got lucky and found Zeph who is her one, Felix doesn't even need to worry about that now, and then there is me.

There is no way in hell that their lives are that bland.

But whatever.

Let's start with... the fact that I'm an orphan.

My parents died in a crash when I was 7 and my aunt wanted me and I hate her.

I mean why do you need to raise me, Aunt Hera!

Wait, Hera... nevermind I know now.

And it explains why I hate her so much.

Anyway, I've run from place to place all my life.

I've been to Boston, New York, New Jersey, etc.

I did a few singing gigs and ended up getting enough money to buy a guitar.

More gigs came along after that and then I could get a plane ticket to Florida.

When I arrived, I was attacked by cheese things and I ran until I found this place and Stella saved my life.

Well, here we are.

In a magical mansion thing.

And Heimdal left us.

I hate the gods sometimes.

And now we are playing a game of truth or dare.

"Gabby," I say.

"Dare," she says before I can even ask the question.

"You mentioned a YouTube channel right?"

"I did," Stella says.

"Record this."

She takes out a camera from thin air and starts to link the camera onto her phone.

"And we are on in three... two... Hello, there human who are probably so bored and are now watching this!" She says with a fake smile.

"If you are new, this is a channel where we do a ton of random stuff," Izzy says as she starts to turn the camera to Melani, Lucas, and Zeph. "Except for them. They are boring."

Melani flicks them off.

"And Melani is deaf, so we will translate it."

"Annnnnd now," Gabby starts, "We are playing a good game of T or D with some other humans who dared us to record this."

"No, no, no," I say.

Gabby looks at me raising an eyebrow.

"I just said to record it that was not the dare."

"Alright." She looks at the camera. "These are the other humans," and then she introduces all of us.

"Can I say the dare now?" I ask. Stella nods. "I dare you to perform Say No To This from Hamilton with Luis. And you have to be Maria Reynolds."

"Like sing and act and walk around preform or..." Luis asks.

"Yep!" I say.

"Kay," Gabby says. "You can be James Reynolds, and I'll flirt with a wall."

Stella then jumps in and says, "Uh, no. You are going to be Maria, Luis will be Hamilton, and idk someone else can be both Burr and James."

"I wanna do that," I say.

And you have to kiss at some point, Melani signs.

Gabby translates it and shrugs.

"Wait you are fine with that?" Luis asks.

"I act, and I've done this song before so, yeah, I don't really care," Gabby answers.

"Okay, then," I say. "Entertain me."

They all look at me.

"What?"

"You start," Izzy says.

"Oh, right."

So I start to sing in the corner.

Alex:

There's nothing like summer in the city

Someone under stress meets someone looking pretty

I stop singing and sit down to watch.

After a few seconds of Luis' rapping, Gabby comes in with:

I know you are a man of honor

I'm so sorry to bother you at home

But I don't know where to go

And I came here all alone

My husbands doin' me wrong

Beatin' me,

cheatin' me,

mistreatin' me

Suddenly he's up and gone

I don't have the means to go on

And it continued on and before we could get to the part where they would probably kiss, the building shook.

Lavinia, a pink-haired girl who appeared when Heimdal transported us, along with Izzy looked outside.

"Do we let him in?" Lavinia asks.

"I don't know," Izzy answers. "He isn't mortal, but he isn't a demigod or god."

"So there is a monster at the door! YAY!" I say.

"I don't think that he is a monster, he just isn't human," Izzy says.

"Izzy, I swear if I go up there and see my brother, I will kill you," Gabby says.

"Well, he doesn't look like you," Lavinia says. "He looks a little like the tall deaf guy."

Magnus, Blitz, and Inges face pales.

"No, he doesn't," Izzy says. "He looks like Stella and Melani, actually. And there is a girl there too..."

"No, he is blonde and tall and looks like his identical twin, his face is just a triangle," Lavinia says. "The girl looks like Stella and Melani."

Now it is Stella's turn for her face to pale.

What now? Melani asks, clearly annoyed.

They said that there is a girl that looks like us, along with some guy who looks like H-E-A-R-T-H, Stella signs in response.

Well, look and see if it's your mother.

I really hope that you know that she is your mother too.

I don't care, just look out of the window and tell me if it is her.

"Gabby," Stella says. "Can you please look out of the window and tell me if it's that sweet mother of mine?"

"Sure," Gabby answers as she walks up to the window.

She rubs some sort of pink thing on her eye and says "It's your mom and an alf. His dad, I think."

When she says his dad, she points to Hearth.

And now, Hearth's face pales.

The mansion shakes again, and this time the people who live here, start to worry.

"So... do we kill them?" I ask.

They all look at me like I'm insane.

"What? I'm just asking," I say.

"Didn't he already die?" Stella asks.

"Yeah, I killed him, ate his heart, I did the whole thing," Magnus says.

"Then he should have stayed dead... " Izzy says.

"Unless- And this is just a theory- he made a deal with someone," Leo says. He also appeared here. I'll make a list of who came at the bottom of the chapter.

"Is that possible?" Sam asks.

"Sadly yes," Annabeth answers.

"Gods, this guy is so stupidly smart," Izzy says. "He could, in a way, become immortal."

"Yes, but only if he dies as a monster," Gabby says pulling out a knife from thin air.

Please don't! Hearth signs. He is still my father.

"Yeah, well, I doubt that those fatherly instincts are going to kick in any time soon," Stella says. "He ever treated you like a son, therefore, he isn't truly your father. Trust me, I have experience with shitty parents, and it never got better..."

That doesn't mean that you kill him. Hearth argues. Would you kill your parents?

"I would actually," Stella says.

Everyone but the people that live here stared at her.

"Oh, please. You had a little brother, right?" Stella asks. "Imagine if your parents treated him that way that they treated you. They did that to me and to Melani. It was a miracle that Felix didn't get our genes because he would have been abused too."

That seems to get to him.

"Think about that the next time you want to have mercy on him."

He is still my dad, Hearth signs, but this time it's more to himself.

Stella then screams something in a language that I can't understand.

The Egyptians burst out laughing.

"If you are so dead set on not killing him, then I will," Stella says.

"Please don't!" Inge says.

"¿Por qué todos intentan salvar a las personas que literalmente abusaron de ti?" Izzy says.

I understood that and started to laugh a little. And so did Reyna, Leo, and Gabby.

"I'll kill both of them if they come near the only place I have ever called home, got that?" Stella says. "Gabby open the door."

She does exactly that.

I walk outside with Stella.

"Oh, my beautiful girl!" says the woman that looks just like Stella. And she runs to her.

"What the hell?" Stella screams as she pushes her away. "What do you want?"

"Why we just want to see our children and my servant," says the guy, who I'm going to guess is Alderman. "Where is that worthless girl?"

"And where is Melani?" Says Stella's mom.

Melani, who appeared out of nowhere, signed Right here! And then punched her.

"Oh, my dear Melani, there is no need for violence. But my eyes seem to be giving out, can you speak for me?"

Melani looked like she was about to explode.

I grab both of their waists and pull them towards the building.

"Let's not murder them just yet!" I say.

"Fierro, if you don't let me go right now," Stella says, "I swear-"

"It's Alex, and whatever you want to do to me sounds wonderful but I think that you would have more fun killing them with help," I say.

Melani kicks me where no man wants to be kicked, yeah, I'm a guy today.

I groan and let go of them.

But instead of trying to murder people, they run towards the mansion.

I then notice what's going on.

About 10 monsters have successfully entered the Garden Gnome thing.

Stella turns into a giant chicken war machine, actually, just a giant Stella. It just changed form.

Carter is the giant chicken. "How did you do that?"

"Do what?" Stella asks as she stabs a monster near its heart.

"Change from a hawk to a human?"

"I just imagined it, I refuse to walk around as a chicken."

"Oh, how nice of you to join us!" Gabby says.

"Shut up," I say.

A small lizard-dragon-winged-Egyptian-thing came running in my direction, and its head got cut off by my garrote.

That, my friends, is why you should always carry one with you.

After about 10-15 more minutes of fighting, we successfully kill all of the monsters.

And then the gunshots start.

Stella

After the gunshots- I counted 4- I hear a scream.

I turn to see Zeph with 2 bullets in his chest, a dead Lucas with 2 billets in his head,  along with a crying Melani.

Before I process what is happening, Melani charged to Hearth's dad.

And my mother stabs her.

I scream and cry, and before I even process what is happening, I run to my mom and disarm her.

While she is in shock I shove her into the floor and break her neck.

Alderman ran because he is sensible and I go to my sister, who is holding Zeph's hand.

She does something that I haven't seen her do in a long time. She speaks.

"Hey, don't cry!" She says. "I'll be alright, ok. It's just my time."

"Don't talk!" I exclaim! "And I can't leave you!"

"It's ok. I'm gonna need you to move on for me, can you do that?" Melani asks.

I nod still crying she hugs me one last time.

Then she dies.

I sit there crying for what might have been hours.

Gabby comes up to me and while she is crying she says, "Come on, Stella. She wouldn't want to see you like this."

"Your crying too so shut up," I say.

She lets out a sad laugh and so do I, but it turns into a sob.

"She is right you know," Izzy says while crying.

"I know I am," Gabby responds.

"We should leave, they now know our location," I say.

"When did you get here?" Gabby asks Izzy.

"About 2 seconds ago, and I called Kinsey, she said we could go to their Nome," Izzy says.

"Then we go there," I say.

Stella

I sit on the couch, kind of trying to deny what happened about an hour ago, we still have not created a portal, but we are all drained.

You know what, I think, We are going to put Christmas stuff up, because we are in December, and it is almost Christmas.

I tell Isabella and Gabby, with their Hispanic heritage, they are ecstatic.

"Cool, I'm gonna steal your Spotify, and we will start our version of Christmas, and then the Demon Days!" I say.

"Yeah, we might want to start the superstitions earlier this year," Izzy says.

Then she passes out.

"WHY!" I scream.

Izzy

Great.

Just great.

I have always hated visions, but I am starting to hate them even more now.

I find myself in a chamber, similar to Apophis'.

Crap, is this his chamber?

I take a closer look at the prison and it is not the worst god of all time, thank Ra.

I see a girl, she looks about 10, but she could be older. She had sandy blonde hair and fair skin. Her eyes seem to change colors every two seconds, and she has not noticed me yet.

That makes me wonder, if she is in a gods prison, who is she hosting?

There is no god who will dress like a teenage girl unless it is a matter of life and death. And if you are already in prison, that is deep in the Duat, I doubt that there is a matter of life and death.

"Good," she says. "The plan is slowly starting to work, all that is left is for the hybrid to keep to herself, and the marriage. Oh, and if possible, keep our friends in London hidden."

Holy shit.

SHE KNOWS WHO THE HYBRID IS.

"Then, I Apep, will rise from this shithole, and rule. Ah, I have always hated the Greeks, but now I must thank them for creating the most powerful hybrid of all, me. And they know that they can't fight me, so now, Isabella,"- she gives me her full attention. "You will tell them who I am, and do as I say."

I scream as she begins to choke me.

And then I wake up in cold sweat while crying.

I run out the door and throw up my guts.

Gabby comes up to me and says, "What happened?"

I tell her everything, who the girl is, and what Apep plans to do.

"Well, she knew that you were going to spill, so we need to do the exact opposite. What do you think he and/or she meant when she or, that is too confusing when Apep said our friends in London?" Gabby asks.

"I don't know," I answer. "But we need to figure out who the hybrid is, that person may be our only chance of stopping Apep."

"Uhm, Okay. Tell the others what happened and, um, I will see if I can connect any of the dots."

"Okay..." I say. She sounded really nervous about the hybrid becoming known to the world.

But, I did what she said, and when I asked if anyone knew anything about the possible hybrid, Gabby raised her hand.

"I know who she is..."

I wait.

"It may or may not be me."

"WHAT!" Stella says.

"Dude, that isn't funny," I say.

She holds out her hand, and the amulet flies to it.

"I know that it's not funny, but, I am apparently destined to either end the world or save it," she says.

I then feel a large amount of pain, so I do the logical thing: scream in pain.

Like, it was worse than that monthly visitor (you ladies know what I mean).

I have yet another vision.

Gabby

I wake up in the same chamber that Izzy described, and I think to myself, why am I here, then I think HOLY CRAP I'M IN IZZY'S VISION OR I'M DEAD.

Magnus, who literally just became my spirit animal, says the following: "HOLY FUCK, I'M AM CURRENTLY IN A PRISON!"

See why I said that he became my spirit animal.

The Sandy cosplayer (If you don't know who that is watch Grease) turns.

"Ah, I see that you have finally decided to stop by..."

Gabby

Well shit.

Here we are inside of the fucking vision that Izzy had.

How fun.

"Now, I won't hurt you," says Apep. "I'm just transporting the people that I need if you are with the hybrid, then I need you. The rest of you will come near the end."

Then all I see is black.

When I wake up I find myself back in the Nome with Stella, Izzy, Luis, Magnus, Alex, Blitz, Hearth, Sam, Inge, Thalia, Reyna, Jason, Piper, Lavinia, and some random guy whom I don't know.

Stella has a huge cut on her head and she is currently passed out.

How fun.

"Where am I?" says the guy whom I don't know.

Sam, who is starting to process what is happening, says, "Amir? Why are you here?"

"I don't know!" Amir says. "But where exactly is here, and why is there a dead girl about 3 feet away from me?"

"She's not dead..." I mumble.

"No, I am most certainly not dead," Stella says.

"Yet you have an aura of death all around you," Nico says.

"Oh, how fun," Stella says. "Now, does anyone have any general idea of what we are going to do? No?"

"We could kill the son of a bitch," Izzy says.

"Dam, I haven't heard you cuss in a long time," I say.

"Well, when the all-mighty hybrid god is in a human-" Izzy starts.

"The host is dead," I say. "Nothing could stay there for that long, we weren't actually in the chamber."

"So, you are saying that and correct me if I'm wrong, a dead person who looks like she came straight out of Grease has a god in her head," Alex asks.

"What is Grease?" Inge asks.

"I'm going to educate you on that later, but I'm going towards an enherji being the host of Apep," I say.

Izzy the passes out.

Again.

Stella groans. "Why! What more do you gods want from me?"

"Holy shit," Izzy says.

"You are a daughter of Hades, aren't you?" Izzy asks me.

"How the hell am I supposed to know?" I say.

"Look, Izzy," Nico says. "It's probably not that, I doubt that my dad has gotten out of the underworld in the last few years."

"Are you going to start on that godly parent stuff or get onto the big picture," Stella says

"If you don't fucking shut up-" I start speaking in Egyptian.

"I could beat your sorry ass," Stella says. Sadie starts to die of laughter.

"Didn't she train you?" Sadie asks.

"Yes, but I can still beat the shit out of her."

"Oh, I highly doubt that," Izzy mutters. This time Luis starts to die.

Nico looks at me in pure confusion. "What are you saying?"

"Oh," I say. "Just that I could beat Stella if she tried to fight me."

Stella ever so subtly rolls her eyes.

She looks out of the window, her eyes get wide and she says, "Run."

Amir

Look.

I'm a pretty open person. Norse gods are real? Sure, why not. My fiance, Sam, is a valkyrie? Totally normal.

But I ever expected other stuff. For example Egyptians.

So when Stella said "run", I didn't run.

No, I sprinted and got out of there as fast as possible, with the rest of them on my tail.

Gabby, who is the hybrid I guess, somehow gets in front of me.

"You are really fast, for a mortal," she says.

"Gee thanks," I say. "Any idea of what we are running from?"

"Tjesu heru. A four-legged snake with two heads that will bite you and kill you with venom," Gabby says. "The only person that I know who has defeated it is Saide, and that was with some rage and lent strength."

Piper who also running for her life says, "So we can't stop it?"

"We can, but it's doubtful."

"Oh," I say.

"Do you think it can hear?" Piper asks.

"Yeah, why?" Gabby asks.

"I can charm speak it," Piper says. She runs to the monster and says something. It was dazed long enough for us to get far away from it.

We found ourselves in some sort of forest.

Nico was on the floor with two huge bite marks.

Will, who was the last to get here, started bawling.

Gabby ran up to him.

"Will, you need to stop."

"I-I can fix this."

"No you can't and you need to accept that, okay."

"I'm a healer, I can fix this. Please, Gabby let me fix this."

"Will, you cannot fix this. It's intense magic, and I don't know how to cure it."

"Please, let me try to fix this," Will says shaking and crying.

"Will, you can't fix this."

"Don't you care? You were his friend."

"Of course I care, Will," Gabby says. "I would be long gone if I didn't."

"Then let me heal him."

"WILL. YOU. CAN'T. FUCKING. HEAL. HIM." Gabby says as her voice starts to break. "I'm sorry."

She looks at Sadie, "Oh, hell no."

"Oh, hell yes," Gabby says.

"I'm not going to give him my secret name. You are an Elementalist, you can easily cure him."

"But Nico doesn't trust me that way, he trusts Will."

"Then give Will your secret name."

Gabby snorts.

"If you won't do it, then we have no hope."

Sadie smirks as Gabby gave a glare that would make anyone run.

"I'm sorry," Sadie whimpered.

Gabby rolls her eyes and whispers something in Will's ear.

And Will in response passed out.  

Stella 

Whatever Gabby told him must have cOmplEtely blown his mind because now he lays unconscious.

"Great," Gabby said.

"What did you say?" Magus asks.

"Well," Gabby started, "I simply told him my cosmic name that defines me and who I truly am, and now William Something Solace has full control of me and my magic and can use my magic ad not get tired, I would be the one slowly burning to death."

"That's great."

"Wow you are an idiot," I say, still kinda pissed that she didn't tell me that she was the hybrid. "Also how long have you known?"

Gabby raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"That you are the fricking savior of oh, I don't know, the Duat, the nine worlds, Olympus?"

"Oh, ever since I was like, 6."

"Excuse me?" Izzy says outraged.

"Yes, since I was about 6 and I never told anyone because my mother told me that if I did the world would die, and I wasn't particularly fond of that though, so I never told anyone just any six to fourteen-year-old would do. Also, Sadie, call your man-friend and tell him to bring Jaz."

"Call my man-friend?" Sadie says while laughing. "I'm going to call him that from now on."

Gabby shrugs.

I climb a nearby tree and sit on one of the thicker branches.

After about 10 minutes, Jaz and Walt arrive.

Sadie hugs Walt and Jaz quickly gets Will to wake up using some sort of pepper thing.

After what seemed like days, Will manages to heal Nico.

I let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding. I guess Nico isn't that bad, he kinda reminds me of Gabby about 99% of the time.

I start to relax and cry silently.

She was gone.

My crazy, quirky, pain in the ass of a sister was gone.

I stay on the tree for what seemed like months or years, and I slowly stop crying, not because I've accepted her death, but because I don't have any tears left to cry.

I hear a thin branch snap from under me. I look down and see Mangus climbing up the tree.

Once he gets to my branch, which didn't take him that long, he was actually really good at climbing, he says, "Are you okay?"

"As good as I can be," I respond.

He smiles sadly. "I get the feeling."

I raise an eyebrow. "I highly doubt that."

He chuckles, "No, I do. My mom died a few years ago and I was left homeless. I didn't want to stay with Randolph, so I just dealt with it."

"It's all you can do," I say. "People never think that it's hard, they just think that you keep pushing. But all we ever do is deal with whatever got us there. And sometimes we regret everything on the way to where we were."

"Because you just feel alone," Magnus says. "That was actually how I met Blitz and Hearth."

"Because you were alone?"

"No, because I was going to go to the mansion, but Blitz told me that whatever I was searching for wasn't worth it," Magnus says, sounding lost in the memory. "He told me, and I quote, 'If you ran from it then, you'll run from it again. You weren't there for a reason.'"

"The fashionista dwarf said that?" I ask.

"THE FASHIONISTA DWARF WAS POSING AS A HOMELESS PERSON AND I WAS WORKING FOR MIMIR!" Blitz shouted from below.

I laughed at the comment. "How did you like going through dumpsters on a daily basis?" I ask.

"It was the worst time of my life, and my life has had many low points," Blitz answered.

"But why would you pretend to be that wise old grandfather?"

Blitz responds, "My dad would tell me that when people made fun of me at school or on the road. When I was younger my 'friends' would say that my dream was stupid and that a 'real dwarf' would make things. Whatever 'real dwarf' meant to them.

"When I got home I would cry and my dad would ask me what happened. When I told him he said that a 'real dwarf' depends on who will make something that will help people the most. He told me that making things isn't making swords or hammers, but I could make bullet-proof vests or a piece of clothing that reflects light for war between dwarves.

"The next day I saw my 'friends' at a candy shop, and I was going to talk to them and my dad told me that I left them for a reason. When he died a part of me also died. It's never easy losing someone you were close with."

I smile sadly. "You guys had it worse than me, losing a sibling is nothing compared to losing a parent that you were close with. When I killed Karen-"

"Who's Karen?" Magnus asks.

"My mom," I gag at the word. "She wasn't exactly the best person. Karen was abusive it took her a month to be fully satisfied with beating me out to drag me out of the house. My dad fought for me, but I don't really remember him, it's been nine years now, actually almost ten. But it didn't hurt to kill her, and I hate myself for it, but the more I think about it, the more I think that it wasn't her. I think that it might have just been a really well-crafted shabti."

"A shabti is a clay person, right?" Blitz asks.

I nod in response. "Even if it was a clay person, it still doesn't stop me from feeling bad, you know?"

"Hey, Stella," says an overly happy Leo, which made me nervous.

"Yeees?"

"Come down here and bring the dead guys with you," Leo says.
