no, i do what i want.

anyway i do have a creative writing assignment that i've been working on in which i need to write the pilot episode to a TV series

i figured i could show you the outline because i haven't done the actual script yet.

i also have exams starting this week and i missed three weeks of school because i was so sick

so i have a lot of missing work, and this creative writing assignment was one of them. so i've been working for the past three days on the outline.

but anyway this is formatted in a way that i normally don't do because instead of mini-tangents everywhere, it's one big paragraph per section. i'll try to edit it, i just won't have a lot of time to do so.

and because this is meant to be a TV show... idk pitch i guess? it has a title, longline, long and unnecessary descriptions of the setting that isn't really my normal style, and no character description. BUT i can tell anything and everything about them if you ask me to.

i actually do need to make a character description, that's the next part of the assignment so idk i might publish it later

anyway, why does it need to be formatted like that? no idea! i just do what my teacher says

the writing style is a bit more stiff than my usual prose, mainly because i was told to not get into to much detail about what the feelings were or any dialogue which is my thing, so bear with me here.

ALSO yes i am going to do that annabeth character analysis, i just have no time until june because exams are a bitch. and then i have a few vacations and concerts i'm going to do even then it's gonna be tight.

ok here it is:

Title: Never the Same

After the death of his sister and brother-in-law, a man needs to raise his two nieces.

Genre: slice-of-life, drama

Setting: Arianna's house, Priyanka's house

Arianna's old house is walking distance away from the school which resides in the back of the neighborhood, making the neighborhood full of families. The first floor has the primary bedroom and bathroom, as well as a guest bed and bath. Right after the foyer, there is an office. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all open concept and were renovated a year before Alex moves in. The second floor holds the kid's bedrooms and their shared bathrooms as well as extra living space which was converted into a playroom. The communal spaces are all modern, minimalist, white, gray, and black. The guest bedroom is really just a bed and nightstand. The primary bedroom and bathroom were recently updated and the walls were bare of any decoration besides the black accent wall. Upstairs, however, was a different story. The kids' bedrooms were bright and colorful, and the playroom was filled with a mess of toys. The backyard was fenced in and large with a big magnolia with a custom-built bench around it. In the corner there was a trampoline and a lot of space to run,

Priyanka's house itself looked expensive due to the refinement in the details like the white trim atop the roof and warm, stained wood columns that supported the building or the amount of solar panels atop the black roof. The interior was filled with bright warm woods with white and silver making it feel homey, yet sophisticated. The primary bedroom continued this theme with white walls and wooden furniture. There were plants randomly placed around the room, and all of them seemed to be thriving. The kitchen had pothos hanging in corners and herbs were planted in terracotta pots that sat on a windowsill. The spare bedroom was plain and more minimalist than the rest of the house. This stopped there as the room that eventually became the place Priyanka's honorary nieces would stay in had pastel beds and cupboards filled with toys and a window that looked over her backyard. The yard was probably the biggest indicator of Priyanka's vast wealth. It was around 3 acres of land. A large amount of it was dedicated to her garden where she had fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers growing. She also had a chicken coop she built herself to match her house: Deep green siding and a black roof. There was also a massive weeping willow that Priyanka had grown quite fond of.

Plot:

Start: Alex's sister, Arianna, and her husband, Oliver, die in an unnamed accident. Alex, despite not talking to his sister in a year, was called as the emergency contact. He was the godfather of his two nieces.

Giovanna was 4 and crying into her stuffed koala. Andrea was 6 and silent, refusing to let anyone touch her.

Alex and the social worker who had taken the case went through the girl's history. Giovanna and Andrea were separated for the past two weeks in emergency foster care, and if he didn't take them, odds were that they would be separated again. The social worker briefly mentions Alex and Arianna being in that situation when they were younger, which Alex confirms.

They then go into the will which shows that Alex was the godfather and would live in their house and inherit the car. There was money for the kid's college fund and ¾ of the money left was for them once they were in college. ¼ of it was left for Alex. He didn't know how rich his sister was until that moment.

The first thing he did was call his best friend, Priyanka, who didn't really have much to add besides offering her full support of him, no matter what. After considering the factors, he agreed.

The only reason he was able to get Andrea in the car was because she kind of trusted the social worker. When Alex said they'd be going to her house, she screamed, but as soon as the social worker said the same thing, she reluctantly strapped herself into the carseat. Andrea didn't do anything during the car ride while Giovanna was screaming and crying.

Day 1: By the time they actually arrive at the house it's around 12pm. Giovanna was still crying, though it was silent now and Andrea was not talking and wouldn't be touched. Alex kneeled down, asking Andrea if she wanted anything to eat or if she wanted to go outside. She didn't say anything and as soon as he opened the door to the house Andrea sprinted up the stairs.

Giovanna was slowly bringing herself up the stairs when Alex asked her for the tour. She perked up a little bit and did so, stopping at her parent's room. Alex asked where he'd be sleeping to let her know that he won't stay in his sister's room, but she said that the parents get the big room. He's the parent now. She said she knew this because the social worker told her. She sniffled, then continued on with the tour. When they reached Andrea's room, Giovanna just opened the door, and Andrea ran up to slam it shut.

That marked the end of the tour, and Giovanna said she was hungry. Alex asked what food Andrea liked and that ended up being "GIGANTO NUGGIES" which Giovanna ran to the freezer to get. They were dino nuggets. He made a plate for Andrea and went up to her room. He asked if he wanted to eat there or downstairs. She tried to grab for the plate, but Alex said that if she ate in here, they were going to talk about what was going to happen next with Giovanna there. She nodded, and Giovanna sat on Andrea's bed while he explained. Andrea didn't say anything and Giovanna began crying again.

Andrea wanted to be alone and Giovanna wanted to help him answer the door when someone knocked. It was Priyanka who was coming over like she said she would in scene 1. She also brought ice cream for the children and $2 wine.

She asked if he managed to murder the second child already after handing a pint of chocolate ice cream to a scarily excited Giovanna. Alex explained and she said to get her in a room with a tile where she could be alone and give her the ice cream.

After Alex did so, and Giovanna was happily getting ice cream all over her face in the backyard, Alex says he hasn't even cried, took a sip of the $2 wine, spit it out because it was terrible then drank it anyway. Priyanka once again expressed her support.

After Priyanka left and Giovanna had taken a bath and gone to sleep, Andrea slowly came down the stairs holding a dirty spoon and an empty pint of chocolate ice cream. Alex asked if she wanted to watch something, and she nodded and asked to watch a movie she liked. She didn't say anything else and backed away from Alex after the movie turned on.

Day 2: Alex, who didn't sleep that night, made breakfast and sat in the office, trying to add his Windows account so he could work from home. Andrea woke up first and ran down the stairs, found Alex and got sad again.

He asked what she wanted to eat and she wanted cereal. While she ate, Alex googled "How to help kids adjust to new parents" and went through them. He chose to follow the "do family activities" advice.

When Giovanna woke up, she brought down her stuffed koala and was silently crying. He asked what she wanted to eat and she wanted a "panacake" or "edamadame" beans.

He asked what they wanted to do that day, and they wanted to do. Andrea didn't say anything, and Giovanna didn't know. He asked Andrea what she likes. She said she doesn't like doing anything.

Giovanna said that she likes to draw, so he let them go wild with the crayons he found. Andrea didn't do anything. Giovanna wanted to go to the park and Alex was trying to get Andrea to get off of the corner of the couch. He ended up trying to comfort her, and instinctually touched her shoulder.

She hated that. She was screaming and kicking until Alex backed off. She screamed "no" and told him to go away before going into a corner of the couch. He asked what she wanted to do and she screamed "nothing, go away" until he left.

Later, he asked if she was hungry, she said no. She hadn't eaten the cereal earlier. Giovanna ate a PB&J. Dinner was the same thing. Everytime he went near her, she would either be silent or tell him to go away. He told her to at least eat half of the sandwich so she wouldn't get sick. She did, then remained silent.

She went to sleep in that corner and while Alex was working up until almost 1am Giovanna must have snuck into his new room. She was hugging a pillow and crying. Alex hugged her until she fell asleep

Day 3: Alex woke up and started working while he called Priyanka. Andrea woke up on the couch and ran up the stairs very loudly. It woke up Giovanna.

Giovanna was still very clearly grieving, but was starting to look a little better. Alex made her breakfast and played doctor with her for a little bit. When she started playing by herself, Alex made his way upstairs, but decided against talking to Andrea because he was pretty sure she'd rather die than have to see his face.

Instead, he called Priyanka. She said that maybe going somewhere else would be good and invited them over. She told him to bribe the children with the wide variety of ice creams she has and also her dog and chickens and massive yard.

Giovanna was sold and started getting dressed. Alex knew the outfit would be horrid, but didn't care. Instead he went to Andrea. He explained that his friend had ice cream and a nice dog she could hug and also little baby chickens. Andrea agreed.

Priyanka introduces herself to the kids and shows them around her house before taking them to her dog in the massive acreage she calls her backyard, saying that she has to make sure her chickens are ready before they can see them. Andrea chooses to stay with Priyanka's Bernese Mountain Dog, Pickle. Giovanna found a cool stick which she used to stick in the ground and throw smaller sticks and rocks at to try and make it fall down.

While they were busy, Priyanka was in the kitchen trying to see how Alex was holding up. He says that he hasn't slept since the accident and wished he could go back. Then he says that Andrea hasn't had any food today and barely speaks. Priyanka says "huh, interesting," to that. They started to talk about what was supposed to happen next, which Alex starts to explain.

Eventually, Giovanna went in to ask if she could see the chickens, and Priyanka took her and Andrea out to see them. She also made sure to tell Alex to stay away from her kitchen.

Priyanka didn't really try to get Andrea to talk, she honestly didn't seem too keen on even going to see the chickens. She stayed close to Giovanna and kept a more stoic expression until Priyanka gave her a little chick to hold, then Andrea smiled.

Priyanka saw the opportunity and took it, asking her what her name was. She said that Alex could be lying when he said her name was Andrea. Giovanna giggled and said her name was Andrea. Priyanka turned and whispered to Andrea asking if they were all lying. She shook her head. Priyanka kept asking in various, progressively weirder, ways if she was sure. She got a laugh out of Andrea.

When Andrea went back to laying down and cuddling with Pickle, Giovanna went to help Priyanka cook. At which point Priyanka went and bragged about getting Andrea to laugh. When Giovanna got distracted by a bee that led her to Priyanka's flowers, Priyanka started giving Alex her advice on what to do with Andrea. She thinks that as long as you make Giovanna feel human, she's fine. Just make sure to validate her when she's not. But Andrea simply doesn't like Alex right now because he is a constant reminder of what she's lost. Giovanna just doesn't see it that way.

It started to get a little dark out, so Alex called Andrea in and Priyanka was able to get Andrea to eat a little bit of khichdi and also some ice cream.

On the car ride home, Giovanna stayed awake, but Andrea fell asleep. When they arrived at Arianna's house Giovanna went in fine, but Andrea needed to be waken up. Alex shook her awake, Andrea didn't want to be touched, and screamed at him.

It woke up one of the neighbors who apparently knew Arianna. He asked what was going on and when Alex said he was just trying to get her out of the car, the nieghbor asked where Arianna and Oliver were. That was the last straw for Andrea who ran inside and slammed the door shut.

Alex explained the situation to the neighbor, and he said that Andrea and his son were friends and offered his support.

Alex went in after Andrea and she was still screaming. Alex asked her what he could do to help and she said that her head hurt and her stomach hurt and she wanted her parents back. She started bawling.

Giovanna appeared from the kitchen, asking what was wrong and when Andrea told her Giovanna got sad and started crying too.

Alex knew that he could hold Giovanna, but got a big stuffed giraffe for Andrea. He didn't try to touch her when he sat down on the couch, cradling Giovanna. Instead, she hugged him very tightly. Alex started crying for the first time since it all began.
