i have a shit ton of writer's block and rather than deal with it like a normal fucking person, i decided to cry

then i decided i would do what i told riptide2406 i was going to do, and give y'all a sneak peak of the shelper fic via my sims

this is a bit different than my other sims worlds because a big part of this fic is familial relationships, and i wanted shel to have a huge fucking family.

so, i started by making shel's family around the time she would have been three, then aged her up a bit, which is the image that you are currently seeing. i also wanted to get the bonus traits you get for raising a kid. so.

anyway, this is Maria Silva:

She is Puerto Rican and Cuban (we have a lot of pride within cultures in this fic, so it isn't important in sims, but is important in the fic--at least to me)

You may be wondering why she is wearing such an atrocious outfit.

It's becuase her husband Julio wanted them to match:

He is Mexican and Argentinian.

They both have a dream of owning a restaurant, but that just isn't possible.

small rant: i know a bit about the restaurant industry because my father is one of the big managers at one, but a lot of my family (the family in their 20s) are all wait staff and hosting. i personally see both sides of the coin. i hate capitalism, i think a lot of managers are harsh on their employees. but, i also see that supervisors fucking suck. especially since my dad is *gasp* black. my dad was promised his own store two years ago, because he was the assistant to the best store at the time. instead they sent him to the worst and didn't let him leave until the GM of the place he was at originally quit. and when my dad tried to just get the location that would have been five minutes away from my house (mugh better than the 45) they threatened him. it sucks as a server because you get the brunt of it all.

ok back to the sims

it just isn't possible in the wonderous world of Miami, Florida

especially not with their first daughter Clara:

who, at the start of the story is, like, 30-35, but is currently someplace in her 20s.

in the fic, she is married to Carlos Cohen Fuente:

who is from Brazil

and the two of them have a kid together: Faren Silva Fuente (they/them) and they also are that one HGTV designer/contractor power couple.

however, Faren doesn't exist yet, and they are going to be married in three days, sim time

As the eldest, everyone was surprised when they found out that not only did she want kids

she actually gave birth to one

Clara, Carlos, and Faren all really love football. Faren and Carlos both cried when Brazil lost. Then Clara and Faren lost their shit (in a good way) when Argentina won the whole fucking thing

also, i just wnated to say the youngest daughter would be 3 when the first grandchild is born

meaning when the youngest are 18 (when the fic starts) Faren will be 15, and i just love hispanic families, don't you?

then Maria and Julio have another daughter, Nora:

who is Nora Greene in the fic and in her early 30s and works as a nurse

she is also married to one of the two white boys: the one no one likes

this is George Greene. he works in business (in the fic he's a recruiter for the military) and buys stock and understands taxes but won't explain it to anyone.

he is also from Utah.

in the fic they have three kids: Sofia, and a 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old boy, both of which I have yet to name

however, in sims they have only just started dating.

Nora's sim life is very interesting, because she is the second closest to shel (it's not a competition, but i am keeping track because familial bond arcs) and shel fucking adores her niblings, especially sofi

the only problem is that George is an asshole who hates anyone who will describe him as such

Maria and Julio were both intent on showing their kids a healthy relationship, so while they would keep large arguments to themselves, small things would be done in front of the kids to show good communication

because of this, all of the children are keen on telling you how they feel in a healthy way, and George hates this and Nora adores George so when Shel and George have a disagreement, Shel gets a punishment by not being able to see her niblings

so, shel just stopped saying shit until one day at a family gathering, George does some homophobic shit, and Faren is there, having finally gotten comfortable with themselves

so shel says, "shut the fuck up" and Geogre comments on her sexuality and Faren's gender and Shel just goes at him

So, in sims, I have to build up a good relationship with Shel and Nora, but a bad one with George and try and find a balance to show that yes, Nora loves her family, but also loves George and she hears all about people who split up because of family and Nora doesn't want that

it's difficult to explain, but it's been fun translating this weird relationship

anyway, at this point, Maria and Julio move to Central Florida, though I'm still debating which city

why? because baby #3 is here!

This is the only son, Luis:

the outfit is purposefully horrendous

in the fic, he is... 26???? i think. i have notes, but i don't want to pull it up

he also is very buff because he becomes a personal trainer, but not one of the ones who is like "DON'T EAT CARBS"

why? because now, the Silva's own a restaurant, which i actually have on sims, but it will be at the end

so, food is a love language now. food is good

now, i really wanted to have a large range of body types, which is why I made Maria and Julio mid-sized. that way, when i played with genetics there would be a wide variety

but there isn't, so i will have to manually change the body types of each person, but whatever

in the fic, he is engaged to one, Ava Ramos, who I was able to make from scratch and able to make her muscular in a healthy way and have a similar body type to mine, which a large stomach pooch the way I do:

like, i was so tempted to go all out, but i decided to go for a more healthy and lean look instead, something similar happened to nora because she started working out religiously for some reason. i didn't make her, the game just wanted it

i was also going to give her a more triangle-like figure, but sims didn't fucking save it, so i will have to go back in and do it later

anyway, Ava is Filipino

in the fic, they met in high school because her dad was the football (soccer) coach and Ava was always very passionate about self-defense (also, yes, this is a football family)

so, she'd kind of sit in during the practices and spot people during weights and she met Luis there. They started off as friends, but grew apart and when they reunited after college, both with degrees in fitness, they became friends again and started dating

Ava currently teaches self-defense classes and Luis is a personal trainer, but they are both planning to step away from that to open their own training company, since Luis has a few (2) celebrity clients

and they get married in spring in the fic

however, they are teenagers at the moment, so i made Luis look like shit

they also only have American football as a sport, so I made Luis do that

and to keep the after-school activities thing, I put Ava in cheerleading.

i was lucky and got a pre-set with doe eyes and i was so happy, because i hate making doe eyes in sims. so i rounded out her face and gave her broader shoulders and wide hips and thicker thighs and she also has the stomach pooch

in the fic, shel is a cosmetologist meaning she works with hair and makeup and skin care. i think she'd be very into beauty and just ahve so much fun with it

because i didn't time everything correctly, but i do know what i am doign now, so i'm gonna let clara and carlos get married get her preggers instantly and then have her give birth instantly and then instantly age the child up

i have piper and her family ready too but i havent started on lavinia and oak or nico and will or the rest of the side cast yet

i am also about to reach my picture limit, as wattpad has reminded me about 10 times

it is also 11:30 pm and i need to spend all day tomorrow washing my hair

so, part two will be up at some point i guess
