Just a little disclaimer, I am mixed! I also have two younger brothers and they are also biracial! So, trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

First of all, just because Sadie is mixed does not mean she has darker skin. She can have light skin and still "look black." For example, my younger brother is very light compared to me and my other brother. But, he looks just like my dad.

So, you saying that in order for Sadie to be biracial, she must be a mix of the two colors, is total bullshit and low key racist! So shut the fuck up!

Also something I see a lot of in the fandom is "looking black." Bestie what the fuck does that mean?

Like, are you just unaware of the fact that wider noses and think hair and curls are black features? Are just unaware that a fuck ton of mixed kids have those features?

Or is looking black simply having dark skin?

If so, I ask that you open a fucking book and read ANYTHING about black history and the treatment of mixed kids in the past. You'll never guess how they treated white passing mixed kids! That's right, folks, just the same! Sometimes even worse! They even had their own slur.

Also, being black is about history and culture. Not about skin tone.

Another thing, guys... mixed people can have lighter hair. Why is that such an anomaly to you?

Also, Sadie 100% has curly hair and probably relaxed it because
1- curly hair is a pain in the ass
2- her grandparents didn't know what to do with it
3- her grandparents were racist!

Another note is that just because Sadie is white passing does not mean she doesn't experience her own issues with race.

Actually, we see it in her character arcs. She has always been insecure about her skin tone. She talks about how she wants to be recognized as Carters sister and Julius' daughter, but never is and feels like that's why he let her go with her grandparents.

We also see that she knows she has black features (wide nose, curly hair, thick hair, etc.) And that can create a divide in white spaces because she still looks different.

Not only that, but I hardly see any biracial girls in media, much less white passing girls WHO HAVE THEIR OWN ISSUES

I know it was probably amazing for light mixed girls to see that in media.

So it probably feels like shot to have y'all say oH sHe IsNt ReAlLy MiXeD
