Chapter 4: Learning the ropes
Cora summoned a Servant, and he appeared.
"Yes, Your Majesty?" He asked as he bowed.
"I need you to teach Robin how to be a Servant, and quick, because he is going to serve the Princess. I'll give you a couple hours to teach him. " Cora ordered.
"I'll teach him everything, your Majesty." He said as he left with Robin.
Meanwhile, Regina was contemplating what she had done, she loved Robin, but he mother could never know. She had to let Robin out of the cell, it was killing her to see him, rotting away in the cell.
Now she made him have the lowest role in the castle, a Servant...
I mean there wasn't any other way to free him, she had to do that or Robin would rot in the cell.
Regina paced around her room until a maid knocked on her door, and Regina opened it.
"Your Majesty" the maid bowed, "dinner is ready, the Queen requests your presence."
"Thank you." Regina said as the maid ran off.
She freshened up, and walked downstairs, where servants bowed at every corner and hallway.
Regina looked and couldn't see Robin, where is Robin?, she thought, as she walked to the dining hall.
She arrived and saw her mother at one end of the table, where her thoughts of Robin paused. "Come, sit." Cora motioned to Regina, and she sat next to her mother.
Some butlers came out with trays of food, and she saw Robin wasn't one of them.
Regina let out a sigh of relief, Robin was safe, she thought, at least he's out of my mother's grasp.
A butler put a tray of Lobster on front of Regina, and he removed the lid, revealing a steaming, buttery lobster with mash potatoes, he also did the same for Cora. He also brought out two glasses, he poured Wine into both of them and waited next to the table.
Suddenly, Robin ran into the dining room, but stopped to bow towards Regina and Cora.
"I'm sorry my absence was long, I got lost in these halls." Robin said as he stood by Reginas chair.
Cora and Regina ate in silence.
-Time Skip after Dinner-
Robin accompanied Regina after dinner, as they were walking back to her room.
"Robin." Regina asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty?" Robin responded.
"Did my mother hurt you?" Regina asked curiously.
"No, she didn't." Robin replied.
"Are you sure? You seem kind of nervous." Regina observed.
"Your mother didn't hurt me, I assure you, Milady." Robin answered.
It's not that I don't believe Robin, it's just my mother will hurt anyone who comes too close, Regina thought to herself.
Regina felt Robins hands on her shoulders, and she looked at Robin.
"Milady, you were deep in thought and I didn't want you to bump or fall into any obstacles, so I held your shoulders to keep you balanced." Robin answered.
"Thank you, Robin." Regina replied.
Robin took his hands off of Regina and they arrived at her room.
Regina looked at the corner of her eye and saw Cora walking down the hallway.
"Open the door for me." Regina ordered Robin.
Robin opened the door and let Regina in first, then he walked in and closed the door.
Regina and Robin sighed in relief, as Regina sprawled across the bed.
"Are you ok, Milday?" Robin asked concerned as he stood by her bed.
"I'm fine, just startled, that's all." Regina replied.
"Milady, can I tell you something?" Robin asked.
"Sure." She responded sitting up.
"Your mother is scary." Robin observed.
"She sure is." Regina agreed, nodding her head.
"I've never felt happiness around my mother, and if I ever found happiness, she would destroy it." Regina confessed.
Robin listened to Reginas life story, and he asked questions through out.
"Why does your mother like to destroy your happiness?" Robin asked curiously.
"Because she never experienced happiness herself, her mother,my grandmother was very controlling, so my mother is also controlling," Regina said, "sometimes I wish that my mother knew how she made me feel, whenever I liked a boy, he would exile him or kill him and make it seem like an accident."
Robin felt sad after hearing Reginas story. He walked over to Regina and was going to hug her, to comfort her.
Suddenly, Cora appeared with her maid by her side, and the maid opened the door and bowed to Regina.
Robin fell on top of Regina, instead of Hugging her, and Cora wanted to see Robin, in private, while Regina was worried.
They were outside, and Cora pulled out Robins Heart, and Robin fell onto his knees.
"You shouldn't have done that, no Servant is supposed to be that close to their Princess, unless ordered to, do you know your place?" Cora gently squeezed Robins heart, and he groaned in pain.
Robin was opening his mouth in reply, but Cora stopped him from speaking.
"That was a rhetorical question, and I didn't give you permission to speak." Cora replied.
Cora shoved Robins Heart back in, and he walked back into her room, as he saw Coras maid catch up with Cora.
"I'm sorry, Milady, your mother wished to speak to me." Robin told Regina.
"It's ok, I'm glad you listened to me, no one does that around here." Regina said as she hugged Robin.
Robin didn't stop Regina, as he liked the feeling of her arms around him.
"Milady, it's late, you should go to sleep." Robin observed as he looked outside the window, as it was dark outside.
"Robin, can you stay here with me? To help me fall asleep." Regina asked.
"As you wish, Milady, can I tell you a story?, maybe it will help you fall asleep." Robin asked.
"Yes, you may." Regina said as she put the covers over her, and Robin sat on the bed.
He told her a story, about how he had first learned to shoot a bow and arrow, and she was fast asleep, by the time she was done.
Robin left, and walked to the servants hall, as it was late, and he went to his room and fell asleep, dreaming of Regina.
Meanwhile, Regina had a nightmare.
~Dream~
Regina was running towards Robin, but the closer she was to him, she noticed that Robin became her mother, Cora, and she was holding Robins heart.
(A/N: Cora can become anyone, like a shapeshifter)
"So you do love Robin." Cora said she played with Robins heart.
Regina saw the real Robin, on his knees, as he was in pain.
"Milady, please don't worry about me." Robin said painfully.
"Enough of this." Cora crushed Robins heart, as the ashes fell and Robin fell dead.
Regina rushed over to Robin, and held him in her arms, just in time to hear a statement from her mother, "Love is Weakness."
~Dream Over~
-Time Skip To Next Morning-
Regina woke up with Puffy eyes, as she was crying all night.
Meanwhile, Robin heard the bell next to his bed go off, meaning he needed to wake up, so he got out of bed and ran to Reginas room.
Regina hugged Robin the minute he entered her room, "It's nice to see you too, Milady." Robin said with a chuckle.
He noticed Reginas puffy eyes and asked her, "Did you have a nightmare?"
Regina nodded her head, as if crying had taken all her energy away, but her stomach growled.
Robin broke away from the hug, "Milady, I'll go get you breakfast, I'll be back soon." Robin left her room.
-Time Skip After Breakfast-
Regina gave Robin a tour of the Gardens, and he was amazed.
