Let's pretend, chapter 19

Zachary Walton's POV

"I mean, I found her. I'm not stupid Zachary, I know she left you a long time ago and I know you kept looking for her. So I've decided to help you find her. And I have"

"What do you mean you have? How could you find her when my PI couldn't?"

"Well your PI is... your PI. I'm Ella Walton" she smiled and took a seat "I called her mother, I just told her we were going to Greece next week for Amelia's show and that we should get together. Of course I had my doubts that Elise was staying with her mother which is the most logic place she'd be. But I never brought it up. While we were talking I heard Elise's voice in the background, she was talking to some kid."

"Mother, what if it's not Elise?"

"I recognize her voice and I did some research. You see after your hotel was done, many clients asked who the designer was, so it hit me. She probably kept working wherever she was since she's that talented. And I found her. She lives in Athens, but often visits her mother in Santorini. That's why I called her mother this morning, to make sure of what I learned. And yes, she's in Santorini now."

I couldn't hold my joy any longer I went to my mom and hugged her tightly "You're the best! I don't know how I can ever thank you"

"Well first, you can buy a plane ticket, or use your private jet it will be quicker, and second you could give me a grandson" she grinned from ear to ear.

"You should totally have been an FBI agent" I teased and she just smiled.

"You never know, maybe I am" she teased back.

Later that afternoon, I had packed a suitcase and was in my private jet waiting the pilot to Santorini. I couldn't believe I'd see my Elise again, we were pretending yes, but we were real at the same time. I just felt stupid for not making it real when I should have. And also for hanging out with Jamie so much after Elise and I drifted apart. Maybe if she hadn't seen all those pictures of us she would have stayed. I can only blame myself for losing her.

Elise Collins POV

"Mama, Helena is asleep, could you keep an eye on her for a while? I feel like going to the beach a little"

"Sure thing honey, careful it will get dark soon"

I smiled at how she was always the protective mother. When she learned what Asher did to me she almost lost it. I made my way to the beach in my knee length white dress and camel flat sandals. The weather was great, and I had a few days before I had to get back to Athens. It was hard at first, being away from Zach, always wanting to know about him, always wanting to check on him but when my baby started growing more and more in my belly, all I could think about was my baby girl. I really wanted to tell him, on many occasions, but I just couldn't. I was afraid he would take her away from me. Zachary isn't a bad man. He wouldn't do it to hurt me, he would do it because he would want his baby, but not her mother. I sighed as I reached the sandy shore and took off my sandals wanting to feel the sand under my feet. It was beautiful, the sun was about to set and even though I felt a part of myself missing, still in New York I felt happy. Helena gave me all the love I could ever need. She was my everything.

I took a deep breath and let it out enjoying the sunset "Breath taking" I whispered to myself as the waves caressed my feet.

"Breathtaking indeed"

I froze. It couldn't be. But it was his voice, it was Zach's voice, I would never forget his voice. Tears started welling in my eyes. Maybe I was just imagining him here with me. I missed him a lot after all.

"You are breathtaking; you are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen"

I slowly turned around with tears sliding down my cheek "Zach..." my voice came out in a mere whisper as I saw him standing before me. I wasn't dreaming; he was really here.

"Elise" he said obviously forcing the tears back. Without giving it much thought I closed the distance between us and hugged him tightly. He wrapped his arms around me and kept me so close that my body was molded into his. "I missed you so fucking much Elise, every day, every minute, every second, you were always on my mind. You kept me sane even though you weren't there. You kept me on track Elise. I can't believe I'm finally here with you"

I pulled away just a little and looked up at him "Shhhh" I hushed him before planting a kiss on his lips. It was more of a shy peck, but as I was pulling away he pulled me back to him and kissed me fervently grazing my lower lip so I would grant him access. And I gladly did. Feeling his tongue dancing with mine was heavenly. My hands went into his hair as the kiss grew more and more intense. It was like we never left each other, like kissing each other was the best thing to do, the right thing to do. I let out a moan and felt him groan as he squeezed my ass with one hand while the other was on my neck. I pulled away breaking the kiss out of breath "Zach" I whispered his name as he started kissing down my neck and going further down to my cleavage. "Not here" I whispered and pushed him slightly away so he would compose himself again.

"I want you Elise, here or on the moon I want you" he said huskily making me burn with desire.

I pointed to my parents Cabin not far from us "Let's go there, it's more private" I giggled at how his eyes lit up with anticipation. He picked me up bridal style and made his way to the wooden cabin. We were silent and I was grateful for the quietness as I was studying his face, remembering every detail of it. He was handsome with his sexy jaw and straight nose. I buried my face in the crook of his neck inhaling his cologne. "I missed you so much"

He said nothing to that, he just opened the cabin and walked inside as I guided him to the bedroom. He sat me on the bed and loosened his tie taking it off before he started unbuttoning his shirt slowly. I knew he was teasing me, and it was working. Seeing him like that already got me wet. I lay back spreading my legs just a bit as I pulled up my right leg up so my dress would hitch up. I heard him groan as he approached me in all his glory wearing nothing but his birth suit. Zachary Walton's POV

I woke up to the sound of a phone vibrating somewhere, I blindly searched for it and found Elise's phone on the floor next to me. Her mother was calling; she had called so many times already. She must be worried, I thought but I couldn't answer it so I declined the call and set the phone aside. I turned my attention to Elise who was fast asleep looking like an angel with a slight smile playing on her lips. The temptation was too strong; I captured her lips in mine and kissed her gently feeling the softness of her lips against mine. She stirred under me and her arms went around me pulling me closer as she deepened the kiss.

Her phone vibrated again "We fell asleep, your mom's been calling you" I whispered against her ear before biting it gently. She moaned relaxing under my touch before realizing what I just said.

She sat up straight in bed looking around "What time is it? Where is my phone?"

I picked her phone up from the floor and handed it to her "It's almost 11 pm"

"OMG she's going to kill me, I need to go" she hurriedly put her dress on and was looking for her panties when I handed it to her.

"Elise are you okay?"

"Yes" She looked at me and smiled warmly "I'm great actually, but I really need to head home"

"Ok I'll take you, and I'll head to my hotel as well" she nodded waiting impatiently as I got dressed. We walked out hand in hand smiling like teenagers; I could feel how happy she was and it made me even happier.

"Come back with me Elise"

She stopped walking and looked at me with a worried expression "I... Zachary there are things... I mean I changed. Things in my life changed and I just can't leave everything and leave"

"Elise please, I can't believe I finally found you and now you're telling me you can't come?"

She stayed silent until we reached her parents house and went inside the front gates. It wasn't until we got to their front door that she spoke again "I want to go back with you. But I can't"

"And why is that? Because of your carrier?"

"No, of course not I could work anywhere, it's not that Zach"

"Then what is it Elise? Please you're killing me. We just spent hours making love and now you tell me you can't go back with me. I'm tired of chasing you around Elise. This isn't a game anymore. We're good together, we need to be together"

"I know, and with you here with me I feel complete I really do but before we talk about getting back together we have lots of things we need to discuss."

"Things like what?"

"I lied to you... it's not really a lie it's more of a secret I kept to myself, and you might never forgive me"

"What are you talking about? What secret?"

The front door opened and I saw her mother coming out with a baby in her arms "Elise where were you! I was so worried!" she stopped when she saw me and looked at Elise with fear in her eyes. I couldn't understand why she would be afraid of me, I've never met her before. I frowned looking at the woman in front of us "Hello Mrs Collins, Zachary Walton" I extended a hand introducing myself. She shook my hand gently but was still looking at her daughter as if they were having a silent conversation. I looked at Elise and she had tears in her eyes and was shaking "Elise? Are you okay?" she just nodded and pointed to the baby. I looked at the sleeping beauty and smiled "Beautiful girl, who's baby is it?"

"Yours" I heard Elise say and everything else around me stopped. So that's what she was talking about. That was the secret she kept from me. Then it hit me "You were running from me... you knew you were pregnant and you just disappeared" I felt broken.
