//Kapitel Achtzehn//

A/N: let me live, I've never been to a "traditional" wedding in my life (no, I don't mean a gay wedding). When my brother got married like 5 years ago, I wasn't 100% sure what the hell was going on half the time and i was just fuckin hungry the whole ceremony. And sorry in advance if it's rushed and also the overall shitty-ness of the last chapter.

Those two months breezed by and soon Paul was standing at the end of the aisle, tapping his foot nervously. John stood next to him as his best man and noticed Paul's shaky breathing.

"You okay son?"

"Fantastic." He gulped, tugging at his collar and trying not to make eye contact with the few relatives of Elsie in the pews. It was a rather small wedding and none of Paul's relatives showed. The only people on the other side of the church were the photographer and Yoko, as John's plus one (as they were dating now).

"Just calm down Paulie. You're not having second thoughts are you?" John placed his hand on Paul's shoulder in an attempt to calm him.

"Of course not!" He yell-whispered. "I'm just nervous. What if something happens? What if I faint in front of everyone? Oh god, I can't breathe." John noticed Paul start to sway slightly and held him up. With a hand running over his back and the other on his chest supporting him, John did his best to calm his friend before the doors at the front of the chapel opened. All heads turned around as Elsie, dressed in a beautiful wedding dress, began to slowly make her way down the aisle linked arms with Richard. Paul straightened up and moved John's hand away. Ritchie gave his mother's hand a comforting squeeze before leaving her in front of Paul and taking his place next to John. Elsie looked absolutely stunning. Her hair was styled up under the translucent veil and the dress hugged her body in just the right places. He lifted his shaking hands to the end of her veil and pulled it back to reveal her subtly made-up face.

"You look amazing, Elsie." He said breathlessly. She blushed lightly as her cherry-red lips tugged up into a coy smile.

"Dearly beloved," the preacher began, startling Paul slightly. "We are gathered here today to join James Paul McCartney and Elsie Starky in marriage."

The ceremony progressed and eventually vows were exchanged. Ritchie smiled with tears of joy in his eyes as Paul slipped on their rings and later kissed his mother deeply, now her husband. Cheers and whistles chorused through the humble chapel as Paul and Elsie skipped their way down the aisle.

Outside they were showered with rice and many pictures were taken. Paul couldn't keep the giddy smile off his face as he remained attached at the hip with the love of his life. Ritchie smiled fondly, loving the expression of absolute joy on his mother's face as the pair embraced and kissed once again as the camera man shot the pictures.

"Attention! If you could all shut your gobs for a bloody moment that'd be nice!" John announced over the loud chatter whilst knocking his spoon on his glass. All heads turned to the long table at the front of the decorated recreation hall where Elsie, Paul, John, Ritchie, Yoko, and the bridesmaids sat.

"Thank you. Now, as best man, it's my duty and honor to embarrass the groom. And boy oh boy do I have some good material here." John smirked devilishly.

"Oh god. What did I get myself into." Paul shook his head and sat back in his chair. John cleared his throat and loosened his tie.

"But before I do that, I need to be a bit serious first. Paul," He began, turning to face the groom. "You've been me best mate since we were jus' a couple of too-late-for-the-50's teddy boys who spent their pocket money on ciggies and street fairs. And it brings tears to my eyes to see my Paulie all grown up." John sighed dramatically and dragged his finger down his cheek, resembling a tear while the other hand was over his heart. Paul rolled his eyes but let John continue.

"I don't have much to say, but I just want you two to know know that you chose well and I wish you a long, happy life." He raised his glass and gestured for everyone else to follow suit. Tipping his head back, John downed his champagne in one go and set it down.

"Now," he clapped his hands together, "Bet you all didn't know that I was Paulie's first kiss, now didn't ye?" Several people burst out laughing and Richard choked on his (non-alcoholic) sparkling cider before banging his fist on the table.

"Ohhh yes, I remember it well. Good ol' Billy Shears, a few too many drinks, and a game of spin the bottle."

"I actually hate you John Lennon." Paul sunk low into his seat, cherry red.

"Mhm, that's not what the Paul who slurred 'I luuurrve you Jawn Lemmon' all those years ago." John put on a drunken slur when he quoted him. Paul handed his wife a butter knife and guided on end to his chest.

"Kill me, Elsie." Elsie shook her head and put the knife back on the table.

"Aww, Paulie." She pulled him close and ruffled his hair.
