|3|A Fun Game!|
~O~
"That's something I can explain!"
Midoriya was seen sitting on the reception desk.
His posture was carefree and calm. A casual smile on his face as he raised his right hand and waved at his classmates who never expected him to show up.
Why did he show up now anyways?
What exactly was he doing?
Why was he so calm about all this?
Did he still had all his memories?
They had many questions which were bound to be left unanswered for the time being. Right now, they only silently stared at the green haired boy who retracted his hand and was just sitting there with a friendly aura and a gentle smile.
But for some reason; the friendly aura they were used to felt so damn dangerous and alarming. They were all on the tip of their toes. Cold sweat lining down their foreheads. They didn't even need to rethink the fact that they were having goose bumps out of pure fear.
Why...?
Just why did their resident cinnamon roll's happy presence screamed danger? Why did this feel so intense? Was this just Toga in disguise? Twice making clones? Was any other villain behind this? Was this all just a test being conducted by UA? Was this all fake? Was Midoriya in some serious danger?
No.
This was different.
This was so very different than anything else. It felt like they were all trapped under this person who usually smiles a lot and appears bright but deep down they were the complete opposite. Midoriya appeared completely fine and the same as ever. Just your average happy nerd. But the gut churning feeling his presence gave them; Class-1-A could feel death just by looking at the green haired boy.
"Midoriya...?" Kaminari uttered out.
"Mhm. That's me!" The said boy enthusiastically pointed at himself.
"What's going on...? What are you doing here?" This time, Iida asked.
"I'm having fuuuuun~!" Midoriya said in a singsong tone as he jumped off the desk, throwing his arms up in the air. His expression was like an excited five years old on his birthday party with his friends.
And something in that felt so terrifying.
The green haired boy dropped his smile and a concerned expression sketched across his face when he saw the current state of his classmates. They were all frozen in fear. It was like something about Midoriya was holding them down. Something about Midoriya kept them on guard. Something about Midoriya made their breathing hitched.
"Why the long faces?" Midoriya furrowed his eyebrows, slightly pouting as he tilted his head to a side.
He looked genuinely concerned for his friends. But then why was atmosphere so tense?
The green haired boy smiled once again.
It was killing them.
Midoriya took slow delicate steps towards the group of teenagers.
Stop... Please.
His hands were locked behind his back. He just wanted them to be happy with him.
Why did it feel so awful?
Midoriya stopped right in front of them. More specifically; right in front of Iida.
Despair.
That was all that they felt.
It was so hard to breath. There was something yelling at them to run and never look back.
But no...
They had to act strong. Midoriya could be in danger. They had to stick together. They needed to leave; but with Midoriya. The green head was always there for them whenever they needed him and so they had to be there for him as well. They are UA's Hero Course students, Class-1-A, they've stood up to multiple villain attacks, this was just their friend. No big deal. Ease up. Take Midoriya. And leave.
So, our manly redhead boy put on a smile and stepped up.
"Midori—?" Kirishima began, but was cut off by the green haired boy suddenly appearing right next to him, disappearing from where Iida was standing.
Midoriya repeated, "Why the long faces?" The expression on his face darkened but the smile never left.
Yeah, no. Run.
Kirishima's smile faded in an instant. Kaminari was shaking in fear. Jirou covered her ears. Bakugou clenched his fists. Iida couldn't breathe. Ashido hugged Uraraka's arm while the brunette didn't even dare to look up. Yaoyorozu's hand was on her mouth. Aoyama tried his best to wake up from this nightmare. Sero felt a chill run down his spine. Koda squeaked behind Shoji who was frozen in place. Mineta almost screamed. Todoroki's eyes were wide in disbelief. Tokoyami was internally screaming. Asui rubbed her arm to calm herself down. Hagakure hid behind Ojiro who himself couldn't move and Sato bit his inner lip.
"You. Didn't. Reply." With each word, Midoriya turned to a different student; Kaminari, Asui and Todoroki.
Backing off, Midoriya inhaled, "Hmph. No fun. You guys are no fun."
He closed his eyes and walked away from the group.
They all sighed in relief. At least he decided to keep a distance between them.
"Hey, Kacchan~?" Midoriya was standing right behind the ash blonde.
Every single person backed away at least three or four feet from Bakugou who froze as soon as Midoriya placed his hands on his shoulders from behind.
"What's wrong~? Why are they so scared? Did something happen?" Midoriya whined as he stood on his toes to reach the blonde's height.
When not even a grunt came in reply, Midoriya closed his eyes halfway and whispered in Bakugou's ear, "Told you to be careful, didn't I?" His tone was hushed yet cocky. And that's something Bakugou had never expected to belong to Midoriya.
He was right. This wasn't Midoriya. He couldn't possibly be Midoriya. That nerd would never dare to stand so close to Bakugou. He would never act like this around him. But right now he was. What the hell. Secondly, Midoriya most absolutely didn't have a warping quirk that could allow him to just pop up next to anyone of them. That was unless he was the UA traitor and was secretly affiliated with the League of Villains and Kurogiri was helping him. Which meant they were all stuck in a huge trap and were about to have a full-blown battle.
With a growl, Bakugou swiftly turned around and attempted to hit Midoriya with an explosion right in the face... Once the smoke cleared, he looked to realize the boy wasn't standing there anymore.
"Attacking someone in the face isn't fun. And we're supposed to be having fun." Midoriya pouted. He was now seen sitting cross-legged on the reception desk once more.
Bakugou's left eye was twitching, "You asshole... Who the absolute fuck are you?" He didn't turn around so nobody could see his face. But his tone of voice gave away the fact that he was frustrated as heck.
Midoriya cocked his head and smiled, "Eh? You don't know who I am? I'm your childhood fri—!"
"If your trying to convince us that you are Midoriya then you should've thought about it before acting like this." Todoroki stated, cutting him off.
"Right. Even if we don't remember anything, we know you aren't our friend. So, tell us where the real Midoriya is. Because you're not him." Iida added on.
The green haired boy stared at them.
He looked down and chuckled, his bangs covering his eyes. He quickly and swiftly lifted up his head, his eyes closed and a proud smile on his face, he said, "I can neither confirm nor deny that information!"
Almost every other person in the room had the I-knew-it look before Midoriya interrupted them.
"But," the green head lifted up a finger, "I assure that I am the only Izuku Midoriya you'll find in this world. Looking for another one will take you nowhere."
'The only Izuku Midoriya? That means he is Deku. But then why is he so different? What is this heavy aura that surrounded him? He isn't acting that very different either, but then why? Why?' Uraraka clenched her shirt from the chest.
"Well, Uraraka, that's because you all forgot!" Midoriya exclaimed.
Oh crap, he can read minds now.
But for now, they all tried to take in the information he was indirectly giving to them and to not give out a big reaction. Warping, mind-reading; these abilities weren't Midoriya's. Yet, he said he was the only one. They have to investigate further before anything else.
"You... You remember what happened?" Jirou asked.
"Maybe. Maybe not." Midoriya replied casually.
Seeing the irritated faces of his classmates, Midoriya stood up on the desk and spoke, "Besides, me remembering isn't the point. What really matters is that you're all here and we can start this super fun night I've planned for you guys!"
"Super fun night...? What's wrong with you!? Does it look like any of us are having fun!?" Ashido exclaimed, tears resting on the corner of her eyes.
"Hm? What? What do you mean, Ashido? This was your idea... You were the most excited to play with us~!!" Midoriya said.
"My idea...?" The pink girl was taken a back by the boy's statement. She never said anything like that! But then again, just like the rest of her classmates, she didn't have any memories. She can't completely deny him with proper proof.
Seeing that the girl was out of words, Midoriya shook his head, "Now, now, let's play a game, shall we?"
"What 'game'? The hell are you planning?!" Bakugou yelled.
"It's very simple, really..." Midoriya said, "We're are playing Hide N' Seek with our memories~!"
Oh thank goodness, they thought someone was going to die. But this was surprisingly tamed.
"Rated R for blood, gore and death!" Midoriya added on.
Nevermind.
"You're telling me someone's going to die in Hide N' Seek...? Are you crazy? Nevermind you are crazy... I don't wanna play that shit. I wanna go home..." Mineta was practically crying.
"Too bad! There's no way out of it!" Midoriya gave his signature smile.
"You're saying we can't escape!?" Sero asked.
"Of course you can!" Midoriya replied, "But then you'll die~!!"
Class-1-A just stared at him, hopelessness in their eyes. Was he serious? Was he really going to kill them if they tried to run?
"Considering your reactions, I'll take you're all in. Great, now let me explain the rules!"
Midoriya lifted his index finger, "I'll occasionally stop by and give you tiny hints or help you, okay?"
He lifted up two fingers.
"Have fun."
He disappeared.
