Chapter 27

"Let's get it!" Lloyd clasped his hands together and inserted his earpiece.

The group was waiting in the car and the clock was ticking, the sun was going down quicker than usual but the group hadn't moved at all. What was holding them back?

"You can't get shot out there," Cameron joked at his boss which earned him a smack from Lloyd. "I swear you guys can't handle a joke!"

"He won't," Fallon held a blank stare as her emotions were all tapped out of her system, she was able to push them to the bottom of her stomach and focus on the real mission. Of course, it was almost scary to witness but somehow the boys learned to work with her like that. "I'll make sure."

"Yeah, put your trust in her she'll surely save the day guys." Kian snickered sarcastically laying his back on the seat but not before Fallon shot him an intense glare that made his skin tingle. "Joking! Of course, it's just a joke! Is it getting hot in here?"

"Remember, I'll be in the vents making sure everything goes smoothly, Kian and Liam you make sure the van is up and running okay? No fuck ups, I don't want the battery dying before we get here." The group were repeating the same agreements as before to ensure they didn't forget and screw up. This time Chris held an intense stoic expression on his face as he looked at his tablet again to look over the details, they didn't exactly know when the other gang would be out of the area but the entire perimeter was filled with security and one wrong move could cost a life.

"Fallon, here are your throwing stars," Chris passed the girl a small black velvet pouch filled with the weapon making Fallon's eyes widen.

She took the stars out and grinned widely almost scaring the boys, they never knew how much she enjoyed throwing stars- only Chris took the time to notice during practice.

"Do they explode?" She grinned looking at Chris.

"Yes, Fallon they do." Myles talked into her earpiece making her squeal in excitement.

"Thank you!" She smiled and tapped her feet in the car.

"I didn't get any special gift! Where's mine boss?" Cameron pouted.

"Guys, just focus!" Chris scolded and swatted his hands, they ran over the plans again before leaving the vehicle.

Chris, Lloyd, Fallon, and Cameron were walking towards what seemed like a sewer system protected by metal. There was water rushing down the rocks it looked so slippery to get down by a harness, they glanced at each other before Cameron got his tools out of his belt. The boy made a small incision to the metal bars and was able to drop it down the waterfall.

"I am not swinging around to get to the hole in the wall," Lloyd snorted and crossed his arms before staring at Chris who turned his head to Fallon.

Fallon switched her head from left to right as the boys stared at her. "What? You want me to go down first?"

"Your knives," Chris pointed at her belt and pointed to the rocks. "I had these new ones made especially for you to get inside of there."

"Oh, so that's why they're new," Fallon replied in awe as she whipped out the knife, it slid around her thumb perfectly and swung in a loop as she smirked at the boys. "Get ready boys."

She attached rope to her belt as she slipped through the hole and landed on the rock with her knives almost missing it but she was able to cling on, her heart was pumping really quickly but she looked up with a smile and a thumbs up to the boys. "I'm on my way to the entrance."

Fallon hoisted herself up the rocks and into the entrance where a lot of water was rushing out, the boys stared at her almost in awe before she gave the clear, they all buckled up and slid down the rope and freezer at the contact with water.

"Fucking hell! Why is it this cold?" Lloyd groaned as they quickly ran through the sewer system, it was actually quite clean water it was most likely not used to just dump trash out.

"I went over it in the plan, did you even listen?" Chris scolded as he took the lead and pointed to his boots. "Why the hell are you wearing sneakers? God damn it, Lloyd!"

"I wanted my feet to move! No one told me!" He groaned as he staggered behind.

"Everyone is wearing boots, Lloyd." Fallon deadpanned before turning back to Chris.

They all followed almost in a single file line and wandered through making sure not to split up, that was all up to Chris when they made it officially inside.

"A rat!" Cameron shrieked and held onto Fallon who sighed deeply and kept walking, the water was moving a bit slower which meant they were close. By this time all of them had their glasses on and there was light emitting from them, it was a perfect tool to use in all situations they faced.

"Myles, remind me to buy you food after this," Fallon said into her earpiece. "These glasses are so helpful."

"I'm actually going to kiss you," Lloyd agreed into his earpiece.

"Guys," Chris stopped and turned around to stare at them. "Comments later."

"Okay," Fallon stopped and raised her hands in defense as he turned back around to walk again.

Fallon, Lloyd, and Cameron didn't move as they stared at each other threatening to laugh but managed to keep it in.

"Thanks, compliments to Fallon for the idea." Myles chuckled.

The four finally found a huge pair of bars above them with some light coming from it, the building appeared to be some sort of factory but Chris informed them that it was a building where counterfeit money was being made.

"I'm first again aren't I," Fallon sighed before taking out her karambit knives again and jumping up with her harness attached.

"I'm presenting what you see in your glasses to everyone else, don't open the manhole cover," Myles instructed.

Fallon made her way to the top and peered through the holes as the screen showed everyone else what she was seeing, there were a few people down the hall but they were being followed by men with guns in hand. "Shit."

Myles stared at his screen almost cursing as this wasn't planned, there was a lot of security and even if they were down the hall there was a chance they could see them.

"We're going to have to be quick," Fallon looked down at the guys before talking into her earpiece. "I should go right now and scope it out."

"Stop. Not without someone else to escort you," Chris immediately protested.

Fallon sighed but caught her breath as she saw the people walk away and the halls looked completely vacant.

"I can hold the cameras for 5 minutes maybe, I'm not sure how smart security is so I don't know if they would notice the frozen cameras." Myles clicked on his screen and scoped the area before freezing the cameras, meanwhile, he was able to see the cameras in live time.

Fallon moved the manhole cover and pulled herself up first, she dusted herself off and looked around feeling the nerves creep onto her neck. "Okay, climb up now." She looked down into the hole and used all of her strength to pull Chris up first, when he came up he immediately held onto the rope to pull the other two up. With a swift motion he covered up the manhole cover again and they were down the hall.

Myles kept his eyes on the cameras instructing them which direction to go, the halls continued to be vacant because the real action was happening in separate rooms. It was like a huge warehouse where other innocent people were being put to work with no pay, they were all kept hostage there to print money and if they screwed up or tried to escape they would be killed.

Chris was already up in some vent and scoping out the areas, to his luck the vent was pretty big and spacious but there were a lot of fans that prohibited him from going to certain areas that he didn't expect. Meanwhile, the two boys and girl ran through the hall in an orderly fashion trying to find the room they needed.

"Pick the damn lock, Cameron." Fallon made Cameron fiddle with his tools and he could only glare at her, he wasn't sure about which room they were going to enter but Fallon didn't have time to think and hesitate because she knew if they doubted themselves then it would cost more time.

"Cameron after you open the room you're going to need to find the other room to find the money," Chris ordered before Cameron unlocked the room.

"Got it, go in guys I'll meet you guys after." Cameron rushed away with a glare leaving Fallon and Lloyd by themselves.

"This is the room, make sure to sound convincing okay, Lonnie?" Lloyd turned to the girl who nodded quickly before he opened the door.

There were boys and girls chained to the wall, the chains were on their hands and their ankles it was a sight Fallon hadn't seen before. It made her sick to her stomach to see them look like they hadn't eaten for days and looked super skinny. The light in the room was dim and they all stared at the pair in fear like they were the bad guys.

Fallon put her weapons in her belt before rushing to the small boy who looked so fragile like he could break a bone any day now, she remembered his profile in the slides; this was Mikey. "Hey, are you okay?"

The boy shifted away from her as she stared at him with so much concern written on her face, he just turned to stare at the wall and close his eyes shut like he was ready for a beating. Fallon's eyes widened and she kneeled only paying attention to the small boy, with gentle words she began to confide in herself again to get through with the mission.

Back at the mansion, Myles was gripping onto his seat almost shitting bricks because of the security that was now wandering the halls with other innocent people, one wrong move or sound could ruin this entire thing. Thank god Cameron had already found the money room and slipped in before the guards could see him in the halls, Myles kept track of his timer and they were already down 3 minutes. They had to hurry up. He talked into his earpiece and unfroze some of the cameras, "Now that all of you guys are in rooms, I need you guys to stay in for another ten minutes because the halls are swarmed with guards. Not one sound got it?"

"Got it," All of them replied in unison, Fallon turned her attention back to the boy making sure to keep the peace and calm atmosphere. "Hey, I'm not here to hurt you."

The boy slowly moved his head to turn to her flinching instantly as they made eye contact, "Who are you?" He turned his eyes back to the wall waiting for her to answer but she could only stare at him in pity. "I'm here to rescue you- All of you guys she stood up and stared at everyone else chained up who looked tired.

"Yeah? What a joke," A guy stood up and pressed his back against the wall with his arms crossed, a smirk on his lips undoubtedly. He quickly looked around the room as everyone stared at him, "What? Do you guys really think this isn't another one of their tricks? We're not escaping- There's no way out."

"What's your name?" Fallon turned her full attention to the guy almost scanning his face like a robot and trying to pin it to the profile she read in the conference room.

"Erwin," He raised his eyebrow at her before pushing himself off the wall and walking a little towards her with the small distance he was able to move.

"Don't," Lloyd quickly got in between them staring at the guy with a glare piercing through his eyes.

"Erwin, you're 28 huh?" Fallon didn't look fazed one bit but she stared at him almost with a challenging smirk on her face. "You're older and you still haven't escaped?"

"How the hell- Shut the fuck up-" He began before things quickly took a turn.

Fallon was being held in a chokehold, she didn't notice the guy closer to her who she identified as Colin had her in his arms and was pressing down hard. "Even if we don't escape, I'll be glad I knew I at least killed one of you guys," He spoke into her ear.

"Lloyd!" Fallon struggled to shout words and Lloyd tried to get to her but Erwin quickly pounced on him and they were on the floor fighting.

"Don't fucking touch her," Everything happened so quickly, Fallon stood in place but her legs grew weak as shots were fired. She couldn't remember how quickly time had progressed but by the time she was back in reality and blinked her eyes she didn't notice she was on the floor with two bloody bodies.

The sight of Erwin and Colin's blood chest and face was enough to make her squeeze her eyes shut and push her into a different headspace. In the time she was spacing out, Chris had killed two guys in the room with bullets through one of their chests and the other one in their head. Chris happened to get through a vent and saw everything that went on, he couldn't risk those two dying before they could even proceed with the rescue mission. He couldn't even look at Fallon because he had to deal with checking everyone else who was chained up, even if they didn't look like a threat they still could be. He knew they were fucked though, he didn't have a silencer on his gun and anyone could've heard the two shots.

     They were fucked.
