Chapter 15

Chris pushed her off and instead pinned her to the ground as his glare intensified, he was starting to get pissed off at her but something in him held him back from spitting out vile things to her. It's like he had this soft spot for her and he was starting to realize maybe that's why she bothered him so much. He knew that if she wasn't his and ended up disappearing- If something had happened to her he knew he couldn't live with himself.

"Stop it, I'm not fighting you," He warned again with a stern look replacing his glare.

"I'm a good fighter, let me show you I can be sent on missions!" Her eyes softened as a tear fell out of her eye again. "I can be useful."

"I know you are," He sighed before sitting back up keeping her hands in his grip, she didn't mind being held from the hands because she knew at that moment he wouldn't hurt her. "I know you are- Damn it."

Her expression finally turned somewhat more sympathetic for the first time in a long time, she tilted her head to get a better look at him since he was facing down. His hold on her finally weakened and he dropped her hands, they sat close in front of each other in silence.

"Hey, you know I don't think I'm good at communicating my feelings at times... I know how you feel," Fallon sighed as Chris looked up with a troubled look.

"You have the best poker face out of all the boys," Chris sent her a cheeky smile. "You're incredible."

"Really?" She questioned, a small smile appeared on her face as another tear fell down her cheek. "I'm so sorry, I don't know why I keep crying."

"You hold so much inside, that's why." He placed a gentle hand on her cheek to wipe the tear away. "I want to apologize for what I said earlier, you weren't supposed to hear and-"

"So you'd rather talk behind my back?" She raised an eyebrow earning a frown from Chris.

"What I meant to say back there was different from what I worded," He admitted. "I never know how to say the right things, what I want to say in my mind turns completely different from what comes out of my mouth it's a bad habit."

"Then what did you want to say? Take your time," She scooted towards the wall and laid her back against it leaving him time to process.

"I..." He started staring blankly at the floor before turning to her, he tried to find the words but he didn't want to reveal too much of himself.

"Come on, Chris," She encouraged him. "Two months ago we had a deep talk just like this, you know you could tell me anything."

"I don't want you to see me differently afterward, I'll word it in a way that you can understand as a member of my group." He nodded.

"I guess," She frowned, she didn't understand why she had hoped he'd finally open up to her more since two months wasn't enough for her to completely get to know him. The truth is, she had always felt nervous around him since he was the big boss, she hung out with Lloyd because Lloyd was more welcoming and positive compared to Chris.

The way Chris carried himself around the mansion was scary and all the boys knew it, with this fear in themselves they knew they couldn't talk back to their boss or try to betray him because he would come after them. Fallon wanted to know what it was like on the missions in person, she was very much scared of the loud gunshots but staying at home like she was quarantined for two months was starting to make her lose her mind. She thought she could get through it because back then it was her dream to be in total isolation with her mother but now that she's gone and has no chance of coming back, she needed a new family.

She rarely talked with Chris and most of the time they did pass by each other in the mansion she noticed he was always staring at her intensely, she didn't know what actions made him look at him like that but she was nervous regardless. She had to remind herself that this guy was a gang leader and he could kill her at any time he wanted, she heard the stories and past missions about the boy's conflicts with him but kept her mouth shut.

"I have to be the strong one for them, even the boys older than me rely on me a lot... I need to be the leader they want, I don't want to be alone I only have my brother and don't want to restart everything..." He sighed before getting up. "You're in, you'll be on the mission starting in two days."

"Really? That's it?" Fallon smiled getting up as well. "But you didn't test me-"

"You passed the test." Chris rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

     "I- What? I did?" Fallon's eyes widened.

"You have to listen to me, I am your boss." He ignored her excitement and tried to keep her in check. "You need to listen to me, if you're on missions and you disobey my order I have no choice but to leave you behind because my plans are put in place to protect my men."

"Got it," Fallon grinned widely and clasped her hands together. "I'll listen to you, I can do it!"

They both stared at each other fondly like they made another breakthrough but they both still felt that the full truth wasn't out yet, they felt an overwhelming pull to each other yet they couldn't let themselves reveal too much.

"I got to go get Lloyd, you better ask Cameron for help on your weapons to keep with you on missions," Chris turned to the door not saying another word, he was quick to dismiss her after everything because if he was truthfully honest he was just worried about his brother at the moment.

Chris was running all over the streets with nothing but a gun strapped to his belt, it was hidden pretty well but he knew he didn't want to have to use it. He didn't have any protection, no guards, no one watching over him, he just knew he had to find his brother who was also unsupervised.

"Fucking idiot," Chris cursed as he redialed the number and pressed his phone to his ear. "Pick up."

With the phone call not getting anywhere, Chris was walking rather quickly around the area trying to figure out where the hell his brother would be. He stopped by a club that ran throughout the day, he knew the owner and the staff and quickly asked if they'd seen him. He let out a breath of relief as they nodded their heads and let him in, Chris rushed in to see Lloyd surrounded by a bunch of ladies around him serving drinks.

"Really? The strip club?" Chris crossed his arms as a glare was placed on his face, Lloyd rolled his eyes as he looked at Chris.

"Ladies, can you excuse us?" Lloyd fixed his jacket before the ladies nodded and left the two boys alone. "You lack comprehension skills."

"I don't give a fuck," Chris walked a bit closer already not wanting to deal with his brother's bullshit. "You're coming home, I didn't give you permission to go out."

"I'm 20 years old, I'm old enough to do whatever I want," Lloyd let a chuckle before taking another shot, for once Chris felt himself get pissed watching his brother get intoxicated. "Leave me alone."

"I don't want to have to drag you out," Chris rolled his eyes as he placed his hand on his brother's arm. "Your choice, being humiliated or we can walk out normally."

"Where's Fallon?" Lloyd changed the subject making Chris glare immediately, Chris couldn't explain why it infuriated him why his brother cared so much for that girl. Why was he asking for her instead of focusing on himself? He was the one who went out and got drunk, he hated how his brother became so selfless the minute she got there when it was Chris who had to be the most worried. Did he not care enough about the girl? Or did he care too much that it caused him problems, did she consume his mind so much that he had dreamt about her? It was weird, night after night he sensed her in his dream yet her face never entered the dream.

"She's at home, I put her on the next mission so you get your ass up and help her train for it- That's an order," Chris straightened himself up and let his brother go, Lloyd's eyes widened and that was enough for him to walk out of the club with Chris and no more arguments.

Lloyd did keep in mind that Chris did not apologize to him, why would he though? To maintain Chris's image he didn't mind putting other people down to shame, he isn't entirely heartless but was rather cold even with his members. He wasn't always like that though, there were some good attributes about him when it came down to it- It was hard to point them out. It seemed as if every time he let his guard down, one of them got hurt so in his perspective it was the only way to make them behave.

He did let Lloyd have his fun but recalled many times when he would bring girls home who would want to hurt the boys, little did Lloyd know that the girls were sent to plot against them from another gang... He learned that the hard way but it had to be done, the girls had to be killed off to keep the safety of the other boys in the mansion. There were many times when Chris had to clean up Lloyd's mistakes and he never scolded him harshly, Lloyd only felt guilty when Chris admitted he felt disappointed in him and that was enough to shape him up.

Still, all Lloyd had wanted in that moment was an apology from his brother and he knew he would not get it.
