Chapter 11
Getting into the club was no problem; they all entered through the back door of the club which Fallon didn't even think about. She couldn't lie though, the anxiety that was pooling at the bottom of her stomach was growing by the minute. Crowds and strangers didn't mix well for her, she was trying so hard to be confident and perhaps it delayed the anxiety that was growing.
Yet, she stood by the halls holding her stomach and observing her surroundings. The boys had all gone forward to enjoy the club and as much as she wanted to stick by them because they were now the only reliable people she knew, she clung onto the wall and waited.
That was when Chris noticed, he was always in the back of the group to make sure no boys were left behind or lost and he was glad he was able to see Fallon. He noticed by her body language that she felt uncomfortable, he saw how she stared at Lloyd who was now dancing with a random girl like he always did. Her face looked cold and he always admired her poker face but at times like this, he just wanted her to have fun, he didn't want to leave her at the house alone with the maids. He wanted to teach her how to have fun but only at his side, god knows what would happen if he wasn't by her side to protect her.
"I'll be by your side," He walked up to Fallon who looked at him scrunching up her eyebrows. "I'll order you a couple of shots, you should be able to loosen up."
"Shots?" She had a frown sitting on her face now, maybe she wasn't the kind to drink? "Are you offering a minor a drink?"
"Technically, you're not a minor," Chris chuckled. "You work for me, we all drink here I mean Lloyd started drinking before your age."
"Really?" She nodded. "I mean, I've always wanted to and my mom always offered but-"
"No buts, many teenagers drink it's a part of life," Chris called over a guy who nodded his head and showed them to the bar where they sat down. "We'll start with a few alcoholic drinks then, no shots."
"I don't trust this," She looked at him a little more scared. "What if something bad happens."
"Fine, you don't have to drink but if you choose to I'll make sure nothing happens to you." Chris takes a shot before passing a drink towards the girl. "If you don't drink it, I'll drink it."
She stared at the drink knowing that it would be the first time she drank, she needed to try for her mother. She needed to take risks and who was she to suddenly side with the law when she was quite literally in a gang? There was no more following the law because the people she was with had broken it countless times! She didn't feel pressured into drinking, she was going to do this for herself. She took the black straw and slowly drank from the cup, Chris stared at her with his eyes widening at how much she had drank. She had almost downed the entire drink but she stopped and squeezed her eyes shut, it was the the taste of alcohol that finally hit her, and dare she say it was gross in a good way. She could definitely down a shot right now, she really could but she chose to stare at her boss in a more... different way.
"I'm not drunk," She put her hand up in defense. "I heard it takes a while."
"Yeah, for normal drinkers," Chris scoffed shifting his weight on the counter, he ordered another shot for himself before turning to look at her again. "You might just get a little dizzy with a bit of luck, but then again I don't know how well you take in alcohol."
"I'm not sure, I guess we'll find out," She stared at Lloyd again who was dancing with a different girl this time, she didn't even notice how many different girls he danced with. "Is he always crowded like that?"
Chris turned to what she was motioning at before downing the shot, "Oh Lloyd? Yeah, he's always got ladies wanting to dance with him, I had to remind him to not take any home with him."
"Oh," The simple reply from Fallon made Chris frown, had he gone too far? It was a very bland answer and he almost expected for her to at least sound a bit agitated...
Fallon looked sad though, she almost looked at his brother like she was giving him away to someone who would actually be worthy of him- No, this can't be right.
"Don't worry, he's quite flirty but he never means it," Chris tried to save the conversation but it made Fallon even more gloomy, he had realized that all those smark remarks Lloyd shot at her were nothing more than a joke.
"One shot for me," Fallon swiftly turned to the bartender who poured her some of Don Julio, without another thought she drank from the shot glass and stared back at Lloyd.
"Slow down, that was your first shot maybe you get a chaser-" Chris started but Fallon turned to him.
"I'm fine," She shot him a bored look, Chris couldn't understand if she felt some sort of way for his brother and it was hard to read her mind. She was just so private and kept to herself, the poker face she always had on was so intriguing but at times like this, he wished he knew what she was actually thinking about. "I think I wanna go dance."
She felt her vision move a little as she stood up, it wasn't the same as sitting down it hit her a bit more and the dizziness was settling in. Chris carefully grabbed her hand with no words leaving his mouth, he took her to the dance floor and she felt a bit more free this time. She had worries about others staring at her but with Chris, by her side, she knew no one would dare disrespect her in front of him.
"I don't know how to dance!" She yelled over the loud music, Chris just stared in awe as she tried to navigate herself through the dancing. She didn't dance badly but it did look like it was her first time, she was still shy but trying to open up more and it was cute seeing her try.
"Me neither!" He twirled her around which caught her off guard, the smile on her face was enough for Chris to continue having fun with her on the dance floor.
Fallon had never felt this much fun before, the music growing louder and louder in her ear and her heart beating so fast. Maybe it was the alcohol that allowed her to get this far but she didn't regret it one bit, the best part was that she still felt completely safe in Chris's care. Little by little she slowly forgot about Lloyd and the girls he danced with, she didn't feel jealous of him but she just wanted to stay by his side because of how close they grew with each other. She continued to be spun around by Chris who formed a small smile due to her giggles, he had never seen her look so... bright.
Meanwhile, two boys were staring at them from a distance, "I never seen boss dance at the club," Liam laughed hitting his friend on the back. Cameron stared at his boss and the new girl he brought in, he never knew such an ordinary (but still weird girl), would be the one to finally make him dance at clubs.
"What's so special about her anyway?" Kian joined the two boys with a drink in his hand, the two boys shrugged before Myles interrupted their conversation.
"She's smart, I'll tell you guys that." Myles had an amused look on his face with his arms crossed. "I couldn't tell you guys, how many times she's reminded me of someone. I can see why he picked her up."
"But what if she ruins this for the rest of us?" Cameron asked causing Liam to smack him at the back of his head.
"Let the boss have something to be happy about, you know there isn't much that he holds onto." Liam scolded.
Kian frowned and turned to Cameron with a questioning look, "What do you mean 'ruin it' for the rest of us?"
"I don't know, it's probably nothing." Cameron shrugged wincing just a bit from the smack.
"Something tells me we have a lot to learn from her," Myles smirked as they all stared at Fallon now. "No matter what you think, that girl is going to make us a better team."
"I trust the hacker," Liam put his arms up in defense as both Kian and Cameron nodded their heads.
"She's definitely something," A voice made all the boys turn to their right, Lloyd had stopped dancing with the girls and was listening in on their conversation. "Anyone else had a dream about her?"
All of the boys stared at him with such fright they'd never felt before, it was like multiple chills running down their spines from just a single question. They all turned amongst each other with the same petrified look on their face because yes, they all shared the same dream about her but only Lloyd was speaking up about it.
It wasn't a dream they could describe, they could all sense her in their dreams but they could never wake up and remember the scenario from where she was in. How could they all vividly remember her presence in their dream but not why or where she was? It was like they were all scared of her, even Lloyd felt a bit scared by the information but the only one who didn't seem to care was Chris.
Why was that?
