CHAPTER 40

Diksha's POV :-

Krishna aunty's words got us more bewildered than we were at the start of this matter.

Apparently, this -wild-card-entry- of a property ain't gonna make it easy for Aakarsh, I guess!

I slightly turned my head to the left to have a clear look of Aakarsh's face.

One look at his facial features and you would know that behind that stoic face, there's a man who is struggling inside his mind.

Beneath the mask of firm calmness there lies a complete tornado of emotions twirling inside his mind and heart, putting both on an unsettling internal war.

The war is nothing else but the current matter in hand, because, indeed, the constant change in the Maninagar's issue, is a matter of concern.

And, again, if this whole matter is considered from a wider angle, then definitely it is getting more mysterious!

I mean why on earth is a simple looking 'Will', has no simplicity in it's terms and conditions, at all?

All the way it's getting more complicated than the previous speculations.

Let's reframe the whole scenario; At the beginning, only Aakarsh was the proposed heir as per his grandparents 'Will'.

Then there came many clauses and conditions tumbling in front of us for him to fulfill in order to have his ownership.

And now he can't claim his already entitled property 'completely'.

Seriously?

Wow!

Like where is this thing going, God?

"And why is that so?" Neev voiced out the curiosity which was hitting the insides of my nerves.

"Because, the Will has been created in two parts, belonging in equal proportions. The elderly couple had made it clear for their respected halves, to whom it may concern exactly. The descendants were decided beforehand. Even in the testament, the points are clear - two for two." Advocate Desai, in his - professionally built up - lawyer tone, rolled out some other planet's language off his tongue.

*Blank - errr what...?*

Like we were otherwise any less confused, so he decided to throw some more difficult terms in our ways.

Perfect! The ever cumbersome lines we absolutely needed at the moment!
*Eye roll*

Ahh, sarcasm to be noted My Lord!

We - Aakarsh, Neev and I - were gawking at Mr. Desai and other elders with a lot more confused expressions etching our faces like three perplexed owls trying to fetch the process of trigonometry in broad daylight.

I was about to ask when all of them broke into laughter suddenly.

Like what the exact hell is happening people?

Am I a joke to you? *cries*

"Yaar Desai bas kar ab... bachon ki shakal dekh... kaise rang udd gaye hai inke... (buddy Desai, get done with this now... look at our kids' faces... they have fainted in confusion)..." Mrinal uncle said as he sucked a deep breath control his laugh.

"Alright... alright... kids now listen carefully." Desai uncle said, demanding our undivided attention at his next words.

"So the thing is... Aakarsh tumhare Dada ji aur Dadi Maa ne do alag 'wills' banaye hai, jiska ratio 50:50 hota hai pure Maninagar asset ka. According to them jeevan ke sare rishte ek time ke baad secondary ho jate hai bas Aapka life partner hi aakhri time tak sath rehta hai. (Aakarsh, your grandparents have made two 'wills', in the ratio of 50:50, of the whole Maninagar asset. According to them, all other relationships of your life become secondary at one certain point of time, it's only your life partner who stays by your side till the end)." Desai uncle started to simplify his earlier said - oh so complicated - words.

"Pati patni har mod par ek dusre ki dhaal banke khare rehte hai (husband and wife always have their backs; they stand by each other's side shielding each other in every phase) because of the love & trust which they have in between them. Isi ideology ke sath undono ne salon tak ye responsibility sath sath nibhayi thi (leading their life with such a great ideology, they had fulfilled their responsibilities together, for years). And this is the exact value they wanted to pass on to their next generation." Mrinal uncle added further as Desai uncle nodded him to continue.

"Ohh... okay, now it's making some sense to my brain, otherwise Desai uncle's mini nuclear bomb of legal words had me dead today." Neev added a pinch of humour in between the heavy words we were being filled with.

Everyone chuckled except Mr. PFC...

Huh... sadu... (arrogant).

"But ye aap dono ko kyun nahi mila... sidha mujhe kyun...(but why wasn't it given to you... why directly me)...?" Aakarsh asked his parents, looking all ready to retaliate anything they would say.

"Kyunki ye tumhara gift tha Aakarsh tumhare Dada ji aur Dadi Maa ki taraf se... ( because it was your gift Aakarsh from your grandparents)." Krishna aunty replied, softening her features at his almost pissed son.

"And we were made the acting owners of it till your eligibility. And even then you see, Krishna and I were sharing the responsibilities equally, as per the norms." Said Mrinal uncle indirectly mentioning about the unbreakable rules set by his parents.

"But can't we let it go...? I mean what's the need of having something which comes at the cost of so many unwilling emotions?" Aakarsh raked his frustrated fingers through his perfectly set hair.

Being really unsure about one of the two things, Aakarsh can't think straight right now. And his random question just proved this.

"That's not even a question, Krish. Kyunki agar tumne ise jane diya to wo log barbad ho jayenge. Neel puri koshish karega uspe kabza karne ki (because if you let it go then those innocent people will be destroyed. Neel will try all in his might to capture these forcefully)...." Krishna aunty shouted loudly in extreme anger.

"Which I'm sure would result in another success of any of his vile plans. Sirf tumhare grandparents ka hi nahi humari BHI mehnat aur feelings judi hai isse (not only of your grandparents, but our efforts and feelings are also attached with them). We too have spent many sleepless nights to provide them with a brighter and secured future." She again yelled without decreasing the decibels of her voice.

"Krish, you should never make a decision with an irrational mind. Let your nerves calm down before coming to any final sentences." This is the first time in the whole conversation that my Papa is speaking. And, indeed, this advice is much needed for Aakarsh at the moment, I believe.

"We know you're suddenly feeling burdened with all these... but never forget to trust the process beta. Bhagwan jo karta hai aur karega wo tere paksh me hoga (whatever the almighty God does or is going to do will be in your favour). Have faith in him." Said mumma caressing his face. He just nodded and looked away.

Okay, I know there are things getting pretty messed up with each passing second and he needs constant support, but hey, she's my Mamma...! And, Mr. PFC is getting her attention, not fair at all.

"Tomorrow sharp 10 AM... we'll meet you at the court Desai. Don't worry main mere bache ko haarne nhi dunga (I won't let my child lose)." Mrinal uncle said in a dismissing tone, indicating that today's discussion is over here.

"I know...hence, concluding this... let me repeat the last word of your grandparents regarding the wills - humare wasihat mein Aakarsh mera uttaradhikari hai, uski patni Ambika ki uttaradhikari hogi. Ye sirf daulat ki baat nahi hai duaon ka sauda hai... jise har haal me dono ko ek sath prapt karna hai. (In our wills, Aakarsh is my successor, his wife shall be the successor of Ambika. This is not just the concern of wealth only, but a deal of blessings & wishes which they have to gain together, at any cost)." With these words Desai uncle stood up from his seat closing the buttons of his grey suit.

Suddenly the whole atmosphere changed into serious but powerful.

Like the sense of awakening or the transformation of weaker moments into strongest, we were feeling some different kind of energy into our souls.

Indeed, the aura remained no more perplexing. It was now determined and strong willed.

Reason - The powerful words of an experienced man.

Writer's POV:-

"I think it's time we should break this news to them." Annapurna said, suggestively.

Four of them are sitting in Krishna & Mrinal's bedroom to have this urgent discussion.

"Right, because after today's incident, we anyway have to get them married in 6 months." Krishna made a statement agreeing with Annapurna.

"Hmm from what we saw I think wo dono ek dusre ko pasand karne lage hai thoda bahot ( they have started developing some kind of likings towards each other), so this may not freak them out totally... but even if it did, let's use the situation, since they haven't left with any other options than to give in." Mayank suggested the modified map of their plan.

"Haan shadi to ab karni hi hai (yes as the marriage has to be done).. and by the looks they share... I don't think kisi aur ka naam bhi lenge... (they would take anyone else's name even). So this sudden arrival of Maninagar's issue is a win-win situation for us." Mrinal winked, sharing his point of view.
