Diksha's POV :-

Both the ladies are hugging Aakarsh. While both the father's are looking at them emotionally. What's happening? Am I missing something? Of course I am. I looked at Aakarsh.

Why is he staring at me suddenly. I averted my gaze from him and saw the atmosphere is still emotional.

Okay now this is awkward. Like they are sharing some emotional moments and I feeling so out of place wanna know why? Because I know nothing at all. What happened 3 years ago that they are this much emotional. I want too ask but looking at their faces I decided against it.its better to lighten the atmosphere so that this tension subsides. I came to know that Aakarsh is going to be my boss, his words not mine.

"That you're in office unfortunately."

"So what a boss is always a boss." He replied cockily.

The nerve of this potato shaped man. How dare he?

"Listen don't try to boss around me otherwise I very well know how to teach you a lesson." I warned him pointing my finger at him.

But to my surprise he didn't reply me in fact he just kept on stating with a sweet...ahh not-sweet-but-sweet-anyhow smile. Though I don't like this man from the bottom of my heart but don't know why I like his sharp features, specially that killer smile. I looked into his eyes but it felt deep, captivating today.

How can I say such words that too for him.

I can't believe my own subconscious now. She's betraying me.

Our eye-lock broke by uncle's voice.

"Krish's birthday is coming on this upcoming Sunday. I want all of us to be together. Kitna time ho gya hume sath celebrate kiye hue kuch bhi (how long it's been that we celebrated anything altogether.)" Ohh so this potato faced chimpanzee is having his birthday in one week. An evil idea came to my mind and I smirked looking at him.

"Papa you know I don't wanna celebrate." Aakarsh said calmly but I can say by his voice that he is disturbed by something.

"Why not this year even we can come...and Diksha will already be present over here." Maa said.

"Aunty it's just..." His sentence was cut by Papa's words.

" No just or any other excuse... we are celebrating your birthday and that's final."

"Maa" he looked at her.

"I have no say in it beta .... besides I too want the same." She ruffled his hair.

"Okay fine do as you guys please." He said but his phone rang at the same moment. He excused himself and went to receive the call.

I turn to the parents with a questioning look.

"Are you guys gonna tell me what was the reason behind that emotional moment few minutes ago?" I asked impatiently.

"I wish I could tell you bache (child)  but Aakarsh will not feel good if he came to know about this. So you just wait for somedays he will tell you eventually since you just witnessed all these. Yes, but there something I want to say." Krishna aunty said.

"Boliye na aunty (please tell aunt)."

"My son can never do anything wrong... like really wrong...so please trust him beta." She said looking at me expectantly.

I just nodded since my mind was more confused now. What happened 3 years ago that they are behaving like this?

Later we all had our dinner silently. And I noticed that Aakarsh was calm...like unusual calmness.

"Everything's okay beta..?...you look disturbed?" Krishna aunty asked him.

"Hmm...yeah Maa everything is fine." He gave her a tight lipped smile and went to his room immediately after finishing his dinner.

I wanted to ask but decided against it since we are not even talking properly yet.

Next morning

Last night I slept thinking about Aakarsh. His features, his attitude, his cockiness, our banter and the unusual calmness.

I got up at 7 since it's my first day at the office, I need to get ready and fully prepared for the day ahead.

"Since it's your first day." Maa fed me curd&sugar. We are standing at the door and as I'm all ready to go. Since it's my first day both the parents are giving me sets of instructions.

"If you find any difficulty just come to me straight...am I clear?" Mrinal uncle asked no no ordered.

"Uncle just because this is my uncle's company doesn't mean I'll take advantage of it. I am like any other employees working there. So  no upper hand for me. Okay?" I asked him

"Okay bhai....tujhse kaun jeet sakta hai ( who can win against you)." He said raising both his hands up in air.

I heard someone chuckle at this...ohh how did I forget...it's the potato faced chimpanzee also known as the Aakarsh jerk Verma. I glared at him but he just gave me a stupid smirk.

"Okay...now go...do your best." Papa patted my head. I checked my watch it's still 8 AM means I have 1 hour to reach there.

"The office starts at 9, see you there." Suddenly, Aakarsh said out of nowhere. He was silent all this time but now when I was about to step out he come up with a smirk and those words...ohh how I wish to swipe that smirk off his handsome face.

"You're boss at office not at home stop giving me reminders and deadlines.". I gritted my teeth at him. He smirked and picked his laptop and coat.

"Ohh soon baby soon..." He whispered in my ears and went out of the door. I looked all around to see but no one saw him doing so.

Baby..? Well that was weird... I got goosebumps when he said that.

My phone started ringing at the same time.

"Haa Sejal bas nikal rahi... office mein milti hoon...bye." I said to Sejal over call.
(Yes Sejal I'm leaving for there now.... See you at office... bye)
