CHAPTER 14

Aakarsh's POV :-

This was what he was talking about.

Alright baby boo, let's keep it your way; aa rha hoon main tumse milne jald....bahot jald, but before that a surprise will be waiting for you at your home. Wo kya hai na baby boo, samay aa gya hai kuch purane dino ko phir se jeene ka......see you soon brother.....till then keep missing me.

His words from the other day, rang in my ears.

Shit! how can it slip out of my mind? I should have thought it earlier.

God knows what does that parcel has in it. But whatever it is, I need to make sure, Maa - Papa mustn't know about this.

I looked at them, they were looking at me already. I need to distract them from this topic otherwise it won't result into anything good.

"Maa wo mere naye business partner hai na Mr Mehra, unhone hi kuch bheja hoga as a token of new friendship and association. Waise hai kaha wo parcel?" I asked cautiously.
(Mom, it must be something sent by new business partner Mr Mehra, as a token of new friendship and association. By the way where is that parcel?)

Mom and shared a look with Papa who was looking equally clueless and I can conclude from their looks that they didn't buy my lie.

"Actually, Mera ho hi gaya lunch to main zra Mr Mehra ko call kar ke personally thanks bol deta hoon." I started getting up.
(Actually, I'm almost done with my lunch so I should call and thank Mr. Mehra personally .)

"Krish...baith chup chap. Mr Mehra kahin bhage nahi ja rahe ki unhe abhi hi call karna zaruri hai. Pehle khana pura khtm kar phir hi uthna idhar se." Mom said rather ordered strictly.
(Krish...sit quietly. Mr Mehra ain't running anywhere that you must call him this instant. Complete your meal first than you can get up from here.)
I sat down and gulped seeing Mom's angry Avatar.

Dad now I understand why you're so scared. Angry Mamma is scary! It won't fruit me good if I try to speak another word. I started eating again.

After lunch mom went to kitchen while Dad and I were sitting in living room. I was lost in thinking numerous ways to get that parcel from Mom.

"Mr Mehra bahot zyada friendly nahi ho rahe beta (ain't Mr Mehra getting too much friendly, son)? Sending gifts, suddenly. Strange!" My thoughts got interrupted by Papa's words. He was having this doubtful looks on his face.

O God, not again please. First Mom now he is doubting the whole scenario.

"Ahh...no Papa...I don't find it strange. I think he wants to have a harmonious relationship. Ain't that good?" I replied trying to sound carefree about it.

"Well...I think I should call him now." I said and got up with my phone acting as if I'm dialling some number. I walked towards my room. But, instead of going there, I moved to kitchen.

I saw my Mom arranging something. She turned hearing my footsteps.

"Maa wo parcel kahan hai..?" I asked a bit calmly, trying not to look impatient.
(Mom where is that parcel..?)

She did not say anything but stared at me for good 2 minutes, as if reading my mind. I started getting nervous inwardly, with her silence. Suddenly she crossed her arms and said something which left me baffled.

"I'm not asking anything doesn't mean I'm not understanding anything. I know quite well that you're hiding something, Krish. And I know whatever this matter is, it is troubling you. I'm just waiting for you to come out with the whole matter and explain it , yourself."

She paused for few seconds looking into my eyes, as if searching something.

"Par agar tune aisa nahi kiya to yad rakhna beta main bhi teri Maa hoon...aur apne bache ki pareshani kaise jan ni hai wo mujhe ache se ata hai (But if you didn't do this, then son keep this thing in your mind that I'm you Mother...and I know how to find the reason of my child's problem, very well)." She said in a dangerously calm tone. Calmness that can scare the natives of hell, too.

Okay this is strange! How can she just look at me and know everything almost clearly. Am I too obvious to hide something? Or is it her, who possess any kind of superpower of knowing things on its own?

Whatever it is, I need to hide at least try to hide this matter for some time, otherwise, it will only create a havoc in our life, and I can't see my parents being troubled any way.

"Mamma aisi koi baat nahi hai...aap zyada soch rahi hai." I said holding her hands.
(Mamma there nothing like that... you're thinking too much.)

She wasn't replying but staring at my face, again. Oh God what is happening? Why isn't she believing any of my words?

"Mamma.." I said in a whining tone.

Why the hell am I whining like a girl? Girl... chocolate brown shining orbs, black mole under lips.

Urrghhh! Why on earth am I thinking about her, that too in such a critical situation. I should be focusing on my problems right now but no my mind has become traitor I guess. It's thinking on it own without seeking my permission to recall her beautiful features.

Wait! Did I just say beautiful? No...no...it my be my illusion. I'm hearing things.

"Krish.."

"Krish.."

"Haan..(yes..)?" I came out of my reverie why Mom shook me lightly.

God was I zoned out till now, that too in front of Mom?

"Krish...kahan khoya hua hai? Aur ye smile kyu kar raha tha?" She asked scrunching her eyebrows.
(Krish... where are you lost? And why are you smiling?)

Whattt..! I was smiling, on a mere thought?
How come is it possible. What the hell is happening with me. How could I even think of such things when I have so many issues to deal with.

"Nahi wo main smile nahi kar raha tha....smile ki practice kar raha tha...haan...smile ki practice...see." I said smiling nervously.
(No...that...I was not smiling... actually I was practicing to smile....see)

"Smile ki practice (practicing to smile)...?" She asked shaking her head with a questioning look.

"Haan matlb aap hi bolti hai humesha ki main aaj kal muskurana bhul gya hoon to wahi practice kar raha tha ki sach me na bhool jaun." I didn't know what crap or nonsense I was uttering but it was okay. As long as she's getting distracted, it is in my favour.
(Yes... means you yourself tell me always that I've forgotten to smile these days so that's why I was practicing to smile so that I don't forget it for real.)

Time to use the ultimate weapon. This will be a masterstroke in my mission 'distract Maa'.

"Aur haan Maa mere sar me kafi der se dard ho raha hai...aap apne hathon se massage kar dengi, please." I said touching one side of my head. I'm relaxed, at least for this I'm not lying. It's really aching a lot.
(And yes Mom my head is aching for too long...will you please massage it with you hands.)

Mom immediately frowned and asked me to go to my room and relax till she's coming with oil.

Sorry Mom I had to distract you from all of this. Neither that parcel nor that beautiful orb...cut the crap man...I mean that call ....nor your should know about the call. Former will destroy everything if I don't handle it now and the latter....well let it be for the later.

Writer's POV:-

After finishing all her classes Diksha along with Sejal came back to her home, infuriated by the things that happened today.

"Kya hua hai kuch bataogi...kab se puch rahi hoon mood kyun kharab hai, lekin nahi, batane ki jagah gusse me ghoom rahi ho idhar se udhar." Her mother asked her for nth time. But she was just pacing around the hall, in anger.
(What has happened...I'm asking you for so long why you're mood is sour, but not, instead of explaining you're just pacing here and there.)

"Ye to batane se rahi tum batao Sejal, kya baat hai?" She asked Sejal who was sitting on the sofa, silently.
(She won't speak you tell me Sejal, what is the matter?)

Sejal explained everything to her in which Diksha was interrupting every now and then with her point of views.

"Tumhara dimag to theek hai na ladki (are you in your right state of mind, girl) ?" Her mother asked angrily.

"Maa meri kya galati hai? Mujhe laga har bar ki tarah ye hi hai." Diksha said in her defence, pointing at Sejal.
(Mom, what's my mistake. I thought it's her as usual.)

"Tumhe puchna chahiye tha isko na ki call kar ke baat itna aage badha koi musibat create karna (you should have asked her, not to stretch the matter this long and create any problem)." Her mother, Annapurna, scolded her angrily.

"Main bhi yahi boli aunty (I too told her the same thing aunty)." Sejal intervened, for which Diksha glared her hard.

"Pta nahi kab akal aayegi iss ladki mein. Ab block karo uss number ki aur papa aate hai tab unhe sab bata kar ye number dena. Wo hi pta karenge kis ka number hai kaun aadmi tha. Aur jaa kar hath mooh dho kar aao khana laga rahi hoon main. Sejal tum bhi jao beta." Her mother said and went to kitchen.
(Don't know when this girl will use her brain. Now block that number and give it to Papa when he will come, after explaining the matter thoroughly. He'll find out whose number was that, who was that man. And go get freshen up and come I'm serving the food. Sejal you too go.)

Both went to her room and came after 15 minutes. They had their lunch after which Sejal left for her home.

In the evening, when her Dad came, her mother explained everything to him. He was very angry but on that anonymous guy for how could he text anyone. He assured Annapurna that he'll find out about it. And for Diksha, he just made her realise the foolishness she did. He can't scold his daughter, his heart, for anything.

Though, initially Annapurna was fuming with anger as why not he scolded her, but at last she melted. After all a mother can no longer stay angry on her child.

✴️✴️✴️

Same evening

After massaging his head, Krishna gave the parcel to Aakarsh with a warning to not hide anything from his parents.

Aakarsh assured her and asked her not to take stress. After she left he opened the parcel. The things which he saw inside it made his blood boiled. He dialled a number in hurry and explained the scene as soon as the call was received.

"Mujhe pta tha wo aisa hi kuch karega (I knew he'll do something like this). Can't expect anything better from him. All he knew is how to play a dirty game. But two can play the game. Bahot shauk hai na toofan lane ka use (he too much likes brewing storm). Now I'll make sure ki toofan zarur aaye(that the storm must brew). Let it end for once and all." He said with determination.

"Finally the ending has begun!" The person on the other side said laughed loudly.

Aakarsh's eyes darkened on that person's words. His lips twitched forming a dangerous smirk. Something in his aura was saying,. He isn't gonna loose this time.

"Finally the ending has begun.." he repeated the words in a low but dangerous voice with a smirk and disconnected the call.
