10:30 AM, St. Xavier's College of Technology and Management

Orientation Day 5th Semester (3rd year BCA) :-

*A/N :- bracketed words are dialogues in English.*

Writer's POV :-

"I hope this year will also be as fruitful as the last two years. Since this is your last year I would like to wish you all the very best for your upcoming events...." Standing on a wooden podium, the principal addressed the students of the BCA department on the first day of their 5th semester, final year.

"Bas yar bas, ab aur nahi jhela jata mere se iss buddhe ko, shukar hai ye hamara last year hai warna iski kundli me mere hathon se khoon likha jana tha pakka....(Enough man... enough, now I can't tolerate this oldie and his speeches anymore. Thank God this is our final year, else, his murder by me, must have got written in his horoscope and destiny, for sure)." Diksha whined standing in the last row of the auditorium without paying any attention to the principal's ongoing lecture.

"Chup Kar wo principal k chamche ne sun liya na to aaj yellow card dilwa ke hi manega waise bhi pichhle semester se pichche pada hua hai humare…(Shut up! If that minion of principal got to hear these words, he would definitely get us a yellow card. He's already after us since the previous semester)." Sejal, Diksha's best friend, scolded her for behaving like a grumpy kid.

"Tu na darti reh bas Kabhi principal se kbhi Uske chamche se (You keep on getting scared every time. Sometimes by the principal and sometimes by his minions. You scaredy cat!)" Diksha told her, giving her the murderous glare.

"Shukar Kar main darti hoon to Tu bachi hui hai warna abhi tak to tujhe yellow, red sare cards mil jate aur tere sath sath mera bhi kalyan ho jata (Be thankful, I'm scared that's why you're spared, otherwise I too would have got red-yellow all the cards along with you)." Sejal whispered slowly, gritting her teeth, trying not to get caught by the administration.

"With these best wishes I end my speech here. Have a great day students." Principal ended his speech, politely wishing everyone to have a good day.

"Thank you Father." The students shouted in chorus; the auditorium echoed with their rhymed voices.

The principal came down off the podium and nodded his head in response to their greetings and headed straight to his office.

"Ahh jaan chhuti....agar ye ek aur minute bolta to main yahi gir jati behosh hokar... (ahh, thank goodness the speech is over, if he would have continued it any longer, even for a single minute, I would definitely have gotten unconscious by now)." Diksha exclaimed tiredly as she slumped her tensed shoulder blades.

"Tujhe pata hai tu ek number ki nautanki hai....dramebaaz....chal abhi warna phir se Jha Sir ki class me late pahunchenge aur phir wo apne buddhe beete zamane ki duhai denge...(You know, how dramatic you are, now let's get going or we'll surely get late again in Jha Sir's class and then he will again start his all time ranting).... humare zamane mein...(in our era...)"

" 'bache aise hua karte the'...(students were like)... bla bla bla" Diksha completed her sentence.

They laughed at their joke and went to the class.

*********

"What the hell man! They made a boring day, that too on the very first day itself." Diksha sighed entering the cafeteria with Sejal beside her.

The first lecture was over and the students moved to the cafeteria.

"Really yaar! they must teach us properly, at least 'ONE' day, if not daily. Anyway, did you hear about Nandini?" Sejal asked, grinning like a small carefree child; with great enthusiasm.

"Heard what about Nandini???" Diksha replied in confusion. heard what about Nandini?

"Are yaar kaha rehti hai Tu (Ohh, where do you live, man) !" She sounded astonished.

"At my home!" Diksha said in a 'duh' tone,  cutting her sentence in between.

"Hahaha very funny, mera to pet hi phat gaya haste haste (my tummy is bursting out of laughter)." Sejal said sarcastically.

"Wo Teri problem hai (that's your problem)." she laughed again.

"Are you done?"

"Nope....it's still left....annoying the hell out of you is the only relaxation in this boring day. So amazing, thoda to entertain hui main (at least I got entertained a bit)." Diksha laughed again, while Sejal was shooting daggers at her through her eyes.

"It's a complete wastage to talk to you. Yahan main itni important baat bata rahi thi lekin tune sara mood hi kharab kar diya (Here, I was giving important news but you spoiled the whole damn mood)!" Sejal complained, whining like a child whose candy had been snatched away.

"Okay okay babes... Bol kya bol rahi this aur ye aise ghur mat kyunki kaun sa tu mere karne pe chup rehne wali hai... (tell me what were you saying sweetheart. And don't throw such glares at me as i know... you, yourself not going to keep quiet, even if I ask you). So spill the beans, already." Diksha wiggled her eyebrows, cooing.

Sejal smiled knowing there was no way she could stay angry at her best friend for long.

That's how friendship works, right?

"Yes, listen, so I was saying that..."

Before she could continue, their phones vibrated together.

*BCA 5th SEM - All students are requested to mark their attendance at the meeting conducted by Nivedita Basu ma'am at 12:30 PM. Location - Hall no. 2*

"Ab kya Yaar… abhi tak Hume bore karke man nahi bhara inka ki ab Pura roast kar ke hi manenge (Now what man! Ain't they got over with their ways of making us bored yet that they just want to roast us properly)." Sejal said with a crying face.

"Come let's see what new topic Basu ma'am has to explain to us." Diksha told Sejal while heading towards the main hall.

They saw Vedant, another good friend of both of the girls, coming towards them.

"Where were you both, I was looking for you guys for so long." Vedant asked, munching his favourite onion and chilli flavoured chips.

"Ah that, we were in the cafeteria." Sejal replied, taking some chips from the same packet.

"I hope Umesh bhaiya didn't get a heart attack looking at your food quantities." Vedant asked, dramatically, hiding the appearing smile behind the straight face.

"You idiot, can't you live a single day without getting hit by me." Sejal replied, hitting on his arm.

Diksha and Vedant, both, burst out laughing hard at her expense doing nothing but making some more, beautiful college memories for the old time.

Ahh! The sweet - salty musings of College life!

"Ab dono apna drama band karo aur chalo nahi to wo Basu sabke samne mazak uda dengi humara. (Now stop your drama both of you and let's get going otherwise Basu will make fun of us in front of all)." Diksha asked the other two.

The trio was moving towards Hall no. 2 when they heard Anirudh, their CR, saying revealing something to Shikhar.

Widening their eyes at the new information they gasped and shouted loudly.

"What !!"
