May's POV

School trip was arriving at the door in just no time and with it bringing chaos everywhere, so much so that the poor teachers had gotten sick and tired of the bubbling of us students and let us off for two days. Yes! We were leaving tomorrow early in the morning and our airplane will be waiting in the airport.

Us girls were currently in our own rooms preparing for everything. I could see that Dawn was really excited because it was her home place and truth be told, Sinnoh is just beautiful. Some lakes that it has are mystical.

"Packed everything May?" An excited Dawn asked.

"Yup! everything in order. I just hope I don't reach there and find that something is missing." I said, nervously.

"Nah, no need to worry. God! I don't think I would be able to sleep tonight." Dawn said.

I sighed, "Look Dawn, if you don't sleep you will be tired tomorrow. I understand your excitement but control it okay?"

"Hey May! Wanna take a look at the map of Eterna Forest? Just so that we are sure where we will be going right?" Dawn asked.

"Yep, sure let's do that. I bet Misty and Leaf wouldn't like to go blind to a place either." I said matter of factly.

So for the next half an hour both of us studied the map. The professor had also mentioned about various activities...I just hope they weren't too scary. I was pretty sure Drew and Paul would be doing the same thing. For a brief moment our little picnic from last day came in my mind and I blushed. It was as if I saw a different Drew. He looked so relaxed and contented.

Maybe he missed being so free and happy, always worried about things regarding his family. I was glad I could help him relax atleast a little bit and I was sure the trip would do the rest. Dawn had her blue backpack out. I really wished she took things which are necessary too other than her hair clips and makeup.

We were really lucky that we got to go shopping and bought the necessary items. Tomorrow morning I planned to wake up a bit earlier to make coffee and store it in a flask during our journey. The airport was quite far from here and I was pretty sure in the bus journey all of us would like some hot coffee. For the fifth time I opened my red backpack and went through the list of things that I had decided to take with me on the trip. We were supposed to have some light snacks before going to the airport tomorrow. I wondered if I would be hungry at all to have something at 6 in the morning...

Shaking my head I decided to read a book before going to sleep. Dawn was in the bathroom, maybe checking whether she had everything she needed. My phone vibrated and I noticed I had received a text from Drew and another from Paul.

Drew: Hey June, whatcha doin'?

I rolled my eyes at the random month name but nevertheless typed back.

May: Well, chilling around and hearing Dawn's constant chatter!

Drew: Hehe, I can relate. Paul here is engrossed in a book about Sinnoh.

May: No surprise there. Oh Drew, I planned to make some coffee for us tomorrow, is that a good idea?

Drew: Great idea May! But how early are you gonna wake up?!

May: Coffee doesn't take a long time to prepare. Anyways Drew, see ya tomorrow. I will crash early today.

Drew: Goodnight May. See ya.

May: Goodnight Drew :)

I smiled and was just going to keep my phone away when I remembered Paul's text. I opened it and smirked.

Paul: What's Dawn doing? Hope not too excited to drive her sleep away.

May: If you are so worried why don't you text her yourself? 😏

Paul: ....

May: Ok ok I got it, you won't. She's fine, don't worry. I will see that she gets enough rest. Happy?

Paul: Thanks May and Goodnight. Oh and Drew here is too eager to spend time with you!!

I blushed, seriously?

May: Ha! We will see. Goodnight Paul.

I looked over to see that Dawn was lying on her bed smiling up at me.

"Texting Drew?" She asked.

Uh oh not now.

"Goodnight Dawn!" I quickly said and with that turned to the other side and drifted off.

I was sure Dawn was smirking. Oh well, I would give her the pleasure just this time.

"Ugh! What time is it?" I murmured sleepily. My alarm was ringing. It was currently 5:00 am. Time to get up I guess.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Dawn was still asleep. I decided to clean up before her so I entered the bathroom. Showering so early wasn't pleasant at all. I cleaned up, brushed my teeth and got out to see Dawn waking up.

"Ugh! I hate getting up so early!" She whined.

I chuckled. "But weren't you really excited yesterday?"

"I was but....," She trailed off.

I was turning my back towards her blow drying my hair. I turned around to see that she had fallen asleep again. I sweat dropped.

I went and shook her. "Dawn, Dawn! Wake up! Dawn, are you listening? Dawn! DAWN!"

No use.

"Dawn, Dawn!!! Time to get ready Dawn! You will be left behind. Dawn!"

Still no reply. An idea came to my head and I smirked. This would work for sure.

"Dawn! Look Paul's here!" I whispered.

She jolted up, looking this way and that.

"Where? Where's he? Where? Oh God! My hair!" She started panicking.

I started laughing. "Calm down Dawn. Finally you are awake! Now get up and get cleaned. I am going and making a sandwich for the both of us."

With that I went away. "Don't fall asleep again!" I yelled.

"I won't." Dawn yelled back.

I shook my head. She seriously needed a babysitter. I hoped Paul would suffice.

I went to our mini kitchen and prepared sandwiches for the both of us. Dawn loved cheese so I planned to give her one. I didn't have time to make for the whole lot of us. I was pretty sure Paul would be doing the same by now and Leaf and Misty would make their own. I just hoped Gary and Ash would be able to manage somehow without burning anything. The last time they tried cooking it ended in a disaster. I sometimes felt as if I was Dawn's elder sister taking care of her. Often she would mess up her shoe laces or tie. I found it amazing how such a girl became an expert when it came to fashion and makeup.

Dawn finally came out and we ate our food before once more going through our backpack and putting inside our toothbrushes and toothpaste. We had our room key and we had to return it in the reception for the time being. I made sure that I had switched off every light and the gas stove before going out and locking the door only to hear a horrified Dawn rushing past me. Apparently she had forgotten her hair brush after brushing her hair today morning.

I unlocked it once more for her and locked it again. Misty and Leaf had told they would be waiting outside the dorm building along with the others. Well yeah Dawn and I were the last to come out among our friends though we weren't late. We went downstairs with Dawn regaining her energy back. After handing over the key I found several students milling around in the cafeteria apparently having something to eat. Thankfully we both didn't run into anyone unpleasant and unwelcome like Ursula or Brianna.

We found our friends with Ash waving enthusiastically and Leaf giving a small wave too. We both waved back. Dawn ran and reached them first with me following close behind.

"Good morning everyone! Slept well?" I asked

Drew and Paul both nodded with Drew adding a "Good morning May."

"Yep!" Misty and Leaf said simultaneously.

"Ashy boy here was too excited to sleep last night but finally fell asleep." Gary said.

"Hehe, he's right. It has really been long since I had gone to a trip!" Ash smiled sheepishly.

"No elders included." I added.

We all shared a laugh before going towards the luxury buses parked outside the gates. Students had already started filling in and Ash and Dawn raced towards it.

"Such babies!" Paul said but he had a twinkle in his eyes. It made his eyes look softer. I smiled up at him

"Yeah but you won't care if that baby has midnight blue hair right?" I teased.

He looked away. I laughed.

"Hey May!" Drew fell into step beside me.

"Hey Drew! Wanna grab sits together?" I asked.

"Sure! Let's go."

I smiled. He seriously seemed to be enjoying but trying to show his enthusiasm as less as he could. Atleast he was enjoying. That's all that matters right?

We both found a sit. Drew became a gentleman and offered the window sit to me. I gladly accepted of course. He sat down beside me with his headphones plugged in. We sat for about ten minutes before the bus took off. Finally!

I poured out coffee in paper cups and passed it to my friends which they gladly accepted. I found that a lot of students had either made hot chocolate or coffee. Sheesh! I could have made hot chocolate. Totally forgot.

After about half and hour I found most of the students asleep. Drew was resting his head on the head rest.

I laid my head on his shoulder surprising even myself but it was comfortable so I didn't bother to move.

"May...." I could hear Drew whisper.

"Mhmm, lemme sleep." I muttered. I felt really sleepy now.

Drew didn't say anything more so I drifted off.

I woke up to find someone slightly shaking me. It was Drew. I yawned and looked at him with a smile.

"Thanks for being such a wonderful pillow." I said.

I swear I saw his cheeks turn red. He looked cute.

We were finally in the airport. We stepped down or more like certain people skipped out and certain people stepped out. Dawn skipped out and engulfed me in a hug.

"May! I am so excited! Oh I am not dreaming right?" She asked with excitement.

I awkwardly hugged her back and said, "No you aren't dreaming and geez if you are this excited now what would you do after reaching there?" I asked.

"I will hug you more tightly then!" She said.

I chuckled. After waiting for about an hour finally the plane arrived. It was huge. I could feel my excitement bubbling out. Sure I had made plane trips before but never with friends! How fun! I just hope everything goes smoothly and we get to have the best memorable trip of our lives!
