3rd Person POV

Being grounded fucking sucked...

While everyone else got to go on a mission from a client to massacre up top, Ayden was stuck back at the office with Loona and Jin, but what was even worse was how she couldn't practice with her weapons or powers or have any phone time for one more week after the whole mess with, in Millie's words, "sneaking out" to the Clown Pageant.

"UUUUGGGGHHHH!" Ayden groaned out loud as she let her head hang off the edge of the couch arm while petting Jin as they were napping along the back rim of the couch with one paw while the other messed around with the gray leather straps on her outfit for the day; a maroon halter top shirt with a bright red six-point star on the front, slightly baggy gray shorts that cinched above her upper knees, a navy blue half shirt with a long gray belt wrap that flowed along her left side and covered a thigh-laced mini satchel, and light brown wrap gloves that kept the tips of her digits exposed.

*FWOOOSH*

With a telltale sound, Loona opened a portal for the others to come back through from the ceiling so they could land on the ground in cool poses.

"Sharp shooting there, Mox, pro as usual!" Blitzø praised Moxxie, making him blush in appreciation after he holstered his gun back into his coat before Blitzø moved on to Millie,

"Millie, beautiful bloody mess in there."

Making her flex her muscles proudly as Blitzø chef kissed and enthused,

"Mwah! What a great fuckin' day this is!"

"Maybe fer you all..." Ayden mumble-griped from her position on the couch as she crossed her arms while sitting upright before Moxxie complimented Blitzø,

"You sure seem in good spirits today, sir. It's rare to see you wear something... not bad."

Referring to how Blitzø was wearing a white button-up shirt with a red bowtie where his skull charm sat underneath his bloodied jacket,

"Well, it's the-first of all, fuck you." He paused to berate Moxxie while hanging his jacket off the office cactus before explaining, "It's the Full Moon, I gotta go meet up with Stolas tonight. Felt like ~dressing up~ a little since it's been a few months since I've been inside of his feathered ass."

Before Moxxie popped up from within the hung jacket to exclaim in disbelief,

"A few months?!"

So Blitzø started to explain dismissively, mimicking Stolas' voice in the middle,

"Yeah, the bird started giving me more ways out of our monthly fuck-sesh. He'd be all like '~Oh, Blitzy, I know it's the Full Moon tonight, but you don't have to come if you don't want to, Blitzy~', so I've just been taking breaks from having to plow his feathered ass into his fancy ass mattress."

"Ugh... TMI, sir." Moxxie commented in disgust.

"Seriously..." Ayden deadpanned in agreement as she watched Millie and Loona attempt to shove a half corpse that fell through the portal before the latter could close it into a trashcan.

Blitzø continued airily as he crossed his arms behind his head nonchalantly,

"Point being; tonight I feel like I could use a little fuckery. It's been a good day, feeling like my stamina's up. And I'm horny."

"Oh shit... He's getting bored of you..." Loona abruptly spoke up, making everyone look at her.

"Whaaaat?" Blitzø questioned dubiously before she proceeded to explain with an attitude of indifference,

"Yeah, man. If someone wants to see you less and less, biiig red flag. If they give you chances to ditch, they probably want out themselves. Just wanna be more passive-aggressive about it. Dicks..."

"Got a lotta expe'ience wi'h that...?" Ayden snarked as she finally stood up from the couch before Jin hopped onto her shoulders after waking from the conversation, their tail waving around to reveal the thick new gold ring at the end of it.

In response to Loona's observation, Blitzø made some mocking noises while waving his hands around his head in a "cuckoo" manner before questioning her,

"How do you know... Loona?" Turning to her only to reveal she had disappeared before his phone started to ring and he answered it so Loona could speak through it,

*'Cause I do that aaaall the time.*

Before she hung up, making Ayden roll her eyes impatiently as she helped shove the corpse into the trashcan while thinking to herself about how moments like this where she somewhat knew exactly what was going on but couldn't talk about it drove her the craziest, especially when Blitzø started to complain,

"Well, tits... Guess I finally gotta do Position 37 tonight." Before picking up the Grimoire from the front desk as he assured himself and the others, "Don't worry, though this book ain't going nowhere if I have anything to fuck about it. I'll dick him so good, he'll let us keep this thing another year easy."

Ayden's deadpan only deepened with a comedic *whomp* in the background before Moxxie picked up a paper from the desk showing the company's rising business as he noted,

"Well, I hope so, sir! Business has actually hit a peak, and it would be disastrous to lose what we worked for now. So, fuck him good, sir."

Before Blitzø grabbed him around the shoulders to poke at him while emphasizing suggestively,

"Don't worry, Mox. By the end of the night, I'll have Stolas eating out of my ass... if the gag'll let him! Eh? Eh? HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Stoooop...!" Moxxie whined, albeit with a slight blush before the two of them went into Blitzø's office to talk some more.

Meanwhile, Ayden's attention was redirected when she heard her meowing text tone go off from Millie's pocket and she took her phone out with a huff to swipe away the notification while grumbling as she turned it over to examine it,

"How d'ya put this thing on silent...?"

"'Nothe' text from Fizz?"

"Yep." Millie answered plainly before putting the phone on silent and pocketing it as Ayden protested,

"Seriously it's been weeks 'lready, how much longe' can ya keep this up? It's a mee'ing wi'h a Sin I'm missin'...!"

"I don't care if it was a summon from Lucifer, you're grounded means you're grounded." Millie put her foot down on the matter, before adding, "'Sides Mox let you and Jin go to your lesson with the Prince yesterday so it's not like you've been under complete house arrest."

Ayden's ears and face drooped down in conflicted irritation but, before she could continue arguing, Blitzø came running out from his office, shoving the Grimoire into a horse-patterned bag while telling Moxxie,

"Moxxie, I need you to hold down the fort. Get some overdue paperwork done."

"What overdue paperwork?" Moxxie questioned before Blitzø dropped a big ass pile of papers on top of him labeled, "JUST GIVE TO MOKSIE."

Moxxie's eyes were seen glowering from within the pile before Blitzø waved to them all while announcing before leaving the office,

"See you all ~reeeeaaal late~ tomorrow!"

*TCH!*

Slamming the door behind him, Millie having to help Moxxie out from under the huge pile of paperwork before he questioned to them all,

"We're gonna follow him and make sure he doesn't screw up right?"

"Obviously!" Millie answered enthusiastically and Ayden added excitedly,

"Yes!"

"Not you..." Millie deadpanned making Ayden whine,

"Aww come ooooon...!" Before she decided to try her hand at begging, "Pleeeeaaase?"

"No."

"Pleahe-he-he-heeeeease!" Ayden was practically groveling on the ground and face-planted down dramatically with her paws clenching onto each other in a begging stance before Moxxie pointed out,

"Uh Millie we might need the extra stealth know-how for this and that is more her area of expertise..."

Millie internally debated it for a minute before relenting begrudgingly,

"Alright, fine!"

"FUCK YEH!" Ayden jumped back onto her feet with her paws raised triumphantly before Millie stopped her celebration by pointing right in her face to assert,

"BUT! You can't complain no matter how bad this gets."

To which Ayden just shrugged and commented as they all headed toward the door,

"It's jus' following Blitzø around." Ayden asked before she closed the door behind her, "How bad coul' it get?"

"I take it back, this is real bad..." Ayden whined from where she was covering her eyes while she, Jin, Millie, Moxxie, and Loona, who decided to join them after Ayden messaged her about their impromptu mission, were all hiding in the alley behind a sex toys store in the Lust Ring across the street from the candle store Blitzø had just entered, and if that wasn't bad enough, it was raining throughout the Rings so Ayden kept flinching whenever the water would hit her head with tiny but piercing stinging sensations.

"~Remember our deeeeaaaal...!~" Millie drew out teasingly and Ayden uncovered her eyes enough to shoot her an annoyed glare before Moxxie asked,

"Can you hear what they're saying?"

Ayden peeped out of the alley just enough to stay out of sight from anyone passing by on the other side of the streets as her ears swiveled around trying to adjust her hearing range but couldn't get a clear enough eavesdrop.

"No..." Ayden replied disappointed as she admitted, "I had bette' range hea'ing in my hellcat fo'm."

To which they all slowly turned to where Jin was sitting on a closed trash can cleaning themself before they stopped midlick with a "blep" face when they noticed them all staring at them expectantly.

They lowered their ears and slumped down a bit in discontent before they meowed in a way that practically vocalized a whiny 'Fiiiiiiine...' all on its own.

"Hey maybe we shoul' try me'gin' again. 'Specially since we've b'n needin' ta practice an-" Ayden suggested but Millie quickly shot her idea down with,

"Nope!"

Making the both of them frown before Ayden patted Jin on the head to deadpan,

"Wo'th a shot."

None of them noticed that a dim light shone from where her paw made contact with their head only to fade away once Jin jumped up from the trash can to hop up the fire escapes on the sides of the buildings to get to the roof.

"Millie, we need ta practice an-" Ayden tried to reason before she was shut down yet again with the classic "Mom Death Stare" that made her wilt a bit in place with her ears lowered before she rolled her eyes as she resigned to watch Jin as they made it to the top of the building.

From there, they were seen perching on the ledge to get a higher vantage point so their ears could swivel around and tune into what was happening across the street,

'They're all horny! What's the mood?' They heard the shopkeeper retort before Blitzø argued,

'I don't know! I'm a simple pervert imp. I just need something fucky.'

But a new voice caught their attention from somewhere close by,

'Ooooh! There he is!'

"MREE...!" Jin tried to hiss-meow down to Ayden but she couldn't understand them as she hiss-whisper-called back up in confusion,

"Whaaat...?!"

And Jin rolled their eyes before blinking their eyes shut and their ears folded completely down and then shooting back open with their eyes glowing bright pinkish red and their ears opening wider while down below Ayden's eyes and ears did the same but she clearly wasn't ready for it as she yelped and stumbled back with a hand to her unseeing eyes,

"YAH!"

*TCH!*

Stumbling right into some trash bags as Moxxie exclaimed while helping her back up from one arm,

"Oh crumbs! Are you OK?"

"Uhhhh...." Ayden waved her free paw in front of her face before shrugging and theorizing, "I think Jin'n I a'e connectin'... from afa'?"

"I said no powers!" Millie scolded.

"I di'n't do on pu'pose!" Ayden was quick to react defensively with her paws raised up before focusing as she tuned in to what Jin was seeing and hearing as a familiar shrill voice was complaining,

'-we're never getting back into Heaven!'

"Fuck!" Ayden exclaimed as she swiveled around in a circle, trying to turn to the others but had to be guided by Moxxie to face them as she reported,

"The Che'ubs a'e he'e...!"

"What?!"

"Seriously..."

"Shoot!"

Moxxie, Loona, and Millie spoke respectively before peeking out from the alley corner and retreating back with deadpan expressions as Moxxie commented blankly,

"Yeah we can see them from here..."

"Not very subtle..." Millie added with a sassy hand flick.

"But thei' gea' is new..." Ayden noted, her brows furrowing as she looked over the robotic suits that were modeled to look like her imp teammates through Jin's eyes.

Loona cut off her train of thought and visual connection to Jin as she devised,

"Let's just keep watching for now and if they try to start something, we finish it..." Punching a fist to her other hand with a vicious grin that the others matched as they nodded their heads in agreement.

Peeking back out, they saw Blitzø heading out of the candle shop, somehow managing to shove a giant-ass candle into his tote bag, and walking toward a sex toy store with the armor-clad Cherubs following him into the store through an open upper-level balcony door.

"Jin...! Follow'im in...!" Ayden whisper-shouted up to them and they nodded once before hopping back down to the ground and darting across the puddle-ridden street to follow Blitzø into the store inconspicuously.

As soon as they made it inside, Ayden long-blinked again to reactivate their long-distance connection and saw, from Jin's position by some stairs behind the Cherubs, that Blitzø was being measured on all sides by a spider-like demon with six arms (giving Ayden a slight pang of nostalgia that she quickly shook off) as he was questioning him in a slightly high-pitched voice,

'Do you know the measurements of the other one?'

'Uh, not really. But he's tall as shit.' He answered before wincing as his tail was yanked back for measurement as the shopkeep suggested,

'Well, we have some pretty long harnesses. Also can't go wrong with something that stretches.' Reaching over to a slide-out rack that had some sex harnesses and demonstrated the elasticity of one of them, impressing Blitzø as he commented,

'~Ooh, that is fancy.~ Alright, I'm into it.'

Taking it off the rack and nearly exposing the Cherubs and Jin if the latter hadn't ducked behind the corner right behind the former to stay out of sight.

"Oww..."

Abruptly, Ayden blinked again to cut the connection off as she pinched the bridge of her nose with the headache rising up as Loona asked mildly concerned,

"You good?"

"Yeh jus'..." Ayden blinked her eyes open with one mostly closed in a wince to reveal her pupils were dilated and one was glowing a darker scarlet before narrowing back down and returning to light pink as she finished answering, "It hu'ts a li'le to connect fer too long.. We still haven't made much progress drawin' out the time we connect 's one..." Before shooting Millie some slight stink eye, "'Specially cause we haven't b'n able ta practice much..."

"Don't start with me missy..." Millie started to scold with a finger raised in her direction.

"Pft whateva..." Ayden scoffed as she turned back around to reconnect with Jin.

"Just don't push too hard... remember it's OK to step back if it becomes too much..." Moxxie reminded her gently with a hand to her arm and she nodded in response with her facial expression relaxing.

"Haaah... phew...."

She took a deep breath to reactivate the connection to watch Blitzø through Jin's eyes as he was still browsing the shop for a bit, but the Cherubs were chatting with the shopkeep.

While she was doing that, with Loona being an extra set of eyes watching the buildings around them, Moxxie pulled Millie aside to have a serious talk with her,

"Millie, what the Heaven's gotten into you?"

"I'm jus' remindin' her she's still grounded, someone's gotta enforce it." She argued while shooting him what looked at first sight to be an expression of impatience.

"It's not just that and we both know it...." Moxxie rebutted patiently and Millie turned away, making him ask with his calm voice, "What's really going on?"

Millie's stubborn expression melted away to one of crestfallenness as she admitted,

"Look Hon you were right before... the more we push to keep her close, the more she'll try to pull away... but.. I figured.. if I could be the one pushin' her to where she doesn't wanna listen to me... then she'll wanna listen to you more..."

"Millie..." Moxxie gasped quietly at that admission before Millie started to rant quietly,

"You two, hell you three, connect and empathize far more than she, they, and I will ever be able to... I'm alright with being with bein' the Bad Cop if it means she'll listen to you more and not endanger herself so recklessly all the damn time..." She sniffed and hurriedly wiped her eye before trying to cheer up as she attempted to reason, "Look we know it's working so why not keep a good thing going and-"

But Moxxie gently cut her off with his hands on her shoulders as he argued,

"Millie... it's manipulation... it may be because of good intentions in this instance but it's still manipulation... and they've both had enough of that in their lives..."

Millie looked back down as she realized he was right and he continued speaking,

"She's still getting used to having us, all of us, as her family after all the time she spent alone and they spent with a father who didn't care about them, and after all the drama with their blood families..." He trailed off before they both looked over to where Ayden was still leaning against a dumpster trying to maintain her connection to Jin despite the glow in her eyes flickering with Loona softly rubbing her back as she scrolled through her phone with her other hand and sparing her a glance every so often and even making her tail rise up to shield her from the dripping water when she saw her flinching a few times, "they want this to be their new normal but they both need space to make it their new, as stable as it can be, normal..."

"But do you know that...?" Millie questioned with a hint of doubt.

"I do, cause she and I talked that morning after that Greed Clown Pageant." He answered before adding, "She wanted to talk to you too but you..."

He trailed off with a down expression as Millie filled in as she remembered that morning after,

"I had gone to work and left her behind for her first day of grounding and you to watch her and make sure she stayed put... Ohhhh...."

Millie put her face in her hands as she slumped down against the wall and lamented, "Why's this so damn hard...?"

Moxxie took his place next to her with an arm around her shoulders as he hugged her close to answer,

"Being a parent never really gets any easier, we just have to figure things out along the way, learn from mistakes, and make sure that she knows we love and care for her while taking into account what she feels she needs..."

Millie looked down at the ground to process all that before her frown gently upturned to a slight smile as she spoke fondly while the tears that had been welling up in her eyes spilled out,

"Sounds so simple... Hehe..."

Moxxie pulled a handkerchief out from his coat's inner pocket and handed it to Millie to blow her nose.

"We just need to keep doing our best, like how Ayden's been doing her best..." Moxxie reminded her before suggesting, neither of them noticing how Loona's ear twitched in their direction in the near distance, "After this mission, talk to her, you don't have to be the Bad Cop to get through to her..."

She was about to say something back when Ayden yelled out of nowhere while grasping her paws over her eyes,

"YAAHHH-OKAAAaaay that's 'nuff o' that...!"

Even Loona got freaked out by her outburst as she nearly fumbled her phone while the crimson light went out from Ayden's eye before she went into a full-body disgusted shudder,

"Bl-l-l-egh!"

Just before Millie and Moxxie rushed back over to her but she kept her paws over her eyes as she yelped panicked,

"Nope! I can still see it! It's bu'ned onto my eyeballs!"

"What happened?!" Millie questioned urgently as she placed a hand on Ayden's shoulder and the other went to cup her temple before she shrieked again,

"What the fuck we'e Fizz and Ozz thinkin' wi'h that dildo?!"

"Wait, Blitzø is with Fizz?! Then what the fuck are we doing standing around here?!" Loona urged as she dragged Ayden out of the alley by the wrist to head toward Ozzie's factory/club.

Suppressing a groan of frustration at Loona pulling Ayden away the moment she was trying to have with her, Millie held her husband's hand as they followed the two.

Once they were a little ways away from Ozzie's, they decided to split up since Ayden reported that, before the dildo demonstration that made her want to claw out her own eyeballs, Jin had overheard the Cherubs hinting at making their move on Blitzø once they confirmed he was alone, which could've been anytime soon.

Ayden had gone with Loona while Millie and Moxxie had split up to be in two different alleys close to the large bush where the Cherubs were hiding and not-so-subtly observing the club while looking for Blitzø.

Ayden had reconnected to Jin, with a steadily burning headache as a result, and saw that they were positioned outside of the factory close to a bay door in the garage loading zone, still keeping an eye on the Cherubs while also staying close enough to Blitzø to protect him if needed.

"Anything?" Loona asked as she put her phone away to join in the surveillance.

"Nothin' yet..." Ayden responded until she saw, through Jin's eyes, that Fizz was comically driving a forklift that was toting-

"Ugh....!" Ayden rubbed her eyes in disgust before her fading connected hearing heard the Cherubs arguing and she tuned back in in time to hear Keenie yell,

'He's going to use THAT? On an innocent person?! We have to stop him now!'

"Shite!" Ayden hissed before raising a fist as she told Loona, who signaled the others, "Get ready..."

Before Cletus started calling them to arms,

'You're right. Okay guys, it's time. Now's our moment. Remember everything that horny little fudgeknuckle did to us because now, we make him pay. For the humans, for the heavens, and most of all for us! LET'S GO KICK SOME ASS!'

Before yelling out to where they could all hear from their positions,

"LET'S FUCK'EM UP!"

But the "move in!" signal from Ayden prompted Millie to strike Cletus down to the ground with her axe raised as she smirked at the Cherubs.

"W-What? How did you-OOF?!" Collin stammered out bewildered before being tackled down by Loona as she explained,

"Find ya? We were already following our dumbass boss to make sure he doesn't fuck up and lose our meal ticket."

Just as Keenie spotted Blitzø and was about to go after him, a shot made her stop as Moxxie appeared from the alley with his gun raised while he spoke mockingly,

"And you weren't exactly covert."

"We di'n't even really need ou' inside' ta keep track o' ya..." Ayden boasted with a smirk as she walked out of the alley while holding her elbow out so Jin could rejoin them and they leaped onto her arm to lightly bump their head with hers, making her smile as she praised them, "But they did good 'nyway."

"Mrow!" Jin happily meowed before the two siblings both smirked threateningly at the Cherubs just as Loona jabbed while wiggling her behind tauntingly,

"You got a lot of nerve coming to our neighborhood after the ass-kicking you took last time."

Making Cletus seeth,

"A lotta nerve, and a LOTTA upgrades, mutt!"

Right before he shot his robotic arm out and punched Loona away from Collin before it swung around to whip Ayden and Jin back right as it was reeled in and he fired a missile from his other arm toward Millie, who only narrowly redirected it using her axe to make it explode away from her but also causing her to crash through a store's front window from the shockwave.

Outraged at the attack on his wife and adoptive children, Moxxie began firing at the Cherubs with a vengeful look on his face.

"The boss! Get their BOSS!" Cletus yelled as he fired two more missiles at Moxxie before Ayden used her powers to control the fire in the propulsion to redirect them away, with limited success.

"Jin!" Ayden shouted from where they'd landed on the street and they darted away to get to Collin as he was lining up the shot with the back of Blitzø's head until Jin attached themself to his face with a yowl just before he fired, making him miss his mark and was promptly kicked back by Loona with Jin leaping into her hair as she yelled,

"No you don't, bitch!"

Ayden was back close to Moxxie, who was avoiding all of Cletus's rocket launches, as he ducked behind some rubble to avoid the fiery shockwave before readying his gun again before Ayden attempted to shoot him out of the sky,

*FWOO!*

Unfortunately, the fireball was weakened by the rain to where he could block it with a gauntlet before she was tackled to the side by Keenie.

*PSH!*

"This one's for you, you moggie freak!" Cletus yelled before throwing some kind of metallic cube where Ayden ended up wrestling with Keenie.

Some metallic transforming noises distracted Ayden long enough for Keenie to kick her off in the direction of the shifting device but just as she was poised to circle back to finish the job she was blocked by a barrage of dildos that were thrown by Millie as she panted exhaustedly from being thrown through a window before being tackled to the ground by the armor-clad Cherub.

Back with Loona, she'd been wrestling with Collin to keep him from firing his gun at Blitzø in the distance and succeeding only in redirecting the line of fire toward Millie, who used the shaft of her axe to spear a sewer lid to use as a shield before switching it to block Keenie's attempted attack with her double hand blades that she broke off before bragging,

"Sorry hun, you can play as me but that don't mean you're anywhere close-GAH!"

Abruptly, Cletus's robotic arm grappled out to snare Millie before she managed to grab Keenie by the throat with her tail to drag with her as she skidded along the street being reeled back toward Cletus.

*KLSH!*

"AHHH!"

But Keenie had managed to grab one of her blade shards to stab into Millie's thigh, making her shriek in pain as Keenie was preparing to attack again-

*PSH!*

"HRRRR!"

Only to growl furiously as she was thwarted by a warning shot to the visor from Moxxie in the distance.

"Mox!" Millie yelled out joyfully before using her tail to fling Keenie into a wall closest to him so he could pin her to the ground with his gun aimed at her head before announcing boldly,

"Welcome to Hell, bitch!"

Right before he was grabbed by the arms and dragged off into the sky with a yell that caught Millie's eye and made her react by slicing through Cletus's robotic arm with the shard that Keenie had stabbed her with to free herself before stabbing it into Cletus's suit's back as he yelled,

"Wait what in the-?!"

Making his suit malfunction to where its jetpack activated and they both took off to the sky after Moxxie and Keenie.

Meanwhile, Ayden was fighting against another robotic suit, this one modeled to look like her, but was operating all on its own without a wearer as it was firing short quick blasts of holy water, if the new burn on Ayden's tail was anything to go off of.

Ayden had attempted to use her fire on it but found her ability to throw fire severely impaired by the energy drain from connecting to Jin from afar multiple times and the rain that was still falling, plus she'd left her weapons back home, so she had to try a more hand-to-hand approach, rapidly kicking and punching it with sparking blows while avoiding its punches and blasts as well but it was incredibly difficult with the suit's durability.

"Arf!"

Ayden's ears perked up at the dog-like cry of pain along with a feline cry of surprise and looked over to see Loona in the distance hiding behind a pillar to avoid Collin's rapid gunfire with Jin at her feet and was about to go help her when she was grabbed by the neck with a loud,

"MREE!"

And was promptly pinned to the ground on her back in a chokehold with one hand before the other hand transformed into a funnel-like device that activated with the sound of a high-powered vacuum cleaner,

*VROOOOOOM!*

"HAAAAH!"

All at once, Ayden felt as if the air was getting sucked from her lungs and she started gasping breathlessly, making it nearly impossible to conjure a flame or reach to her chest to summon her Corrupted Blade.

The suit's visor started flashing red and a mechanical voice announced,

*Subject Weakened. Preparing Incapacitation For Return.*

Before the funnel withdrew and the suit was making a fist, ready to knock Ayden out before-

*MREOW!*

Jin came bolting over, heedless of the bullets still being fired in their direction, and air-bodyslammed the fist to make it narrowly miss Ayden's head, embedding into the street instead,

*KRSH!*

Before pouncing right onto Ayden and a light flashed before revealing just Ayden-Jin as they managed to slip out of the suit's grasp and quickly separated again with Ayden summoning her Corrupted Blade to stab right into the suit's back while Jin clawed the suit's visor off as it began malfunctioning,

*P-Preparing-ZRRT-Hellfire suppression-ZRTS-s-s-s-s-ystem failurrrrrre-ZZRT-protecting our great country-BZZZT-In partnership with Davies Corp-ZZRT-B-B-B-B-YEEEEEEeeeee....*

Ayden's eyes narrowed at the dying words of the suit before her ears perked up at the sound of Collin's rapid-fire halting at the same time that Cletus crashed on top of him and she and Jin saw Loona, in her human disguise, peeking out from behind a bullet hole-ridden pillar with her shoulder bleeding from being shot.

"You good!" Loona called out motioning to how Ayden was still grasping her Corrupted Blade as it sunk into the suit's back before swiftly pulling it out with some sparking wires and bent metal as she tried to sound blasé about it,

"Eh nothin' we coul'n't handle!"

Before her ears twitched up again at the sound of Moxxie's screams and looked up to see him, Millie, and Keenie falling from the sky,

"AHHHHHHH!"

"Shite!" Ayden yelped before Loona shifted back to her Hellhound form and grabbed Cletus's detached gauntlet to fire a missile at a nearby building,

*PSH!*

Before firing another to make the whole building topple over,

*PSH!*

During their freefall, Moxxie managed to shove Keenie away from him and Millie and the roof of the building slammed to the ground revealing a pool, giving the two of them something to land in with a splash while Keenie crashed to the ground unconscious in her busted up suit.

"~Laaahhhh~"

Ayden's ears ducked down and she held a paw to her forehead in exasperation when Millie and Moxxie rose up from the pool open French kissing for anyone and everyone to see.

Choosing to avoid watching the make-out session, Ayden double-checked to make sure that Blitzø didn't see any of what just happened and gave a sigh of relief when she saw him walking off out of sight in the direction of Stolas's mansion,

"Phew..."

Before she walked up to Loona to compliment her impressed,

"We really outta bring ya out in the field mo'e of'en..."

"Yeah, guess it's not so bad." Loona half-shrugged as she dropped the gauntlet to brush her hands off before noticing that Cletus was dragging his fellow unconscious Cherubs out of their suits and opening a portal with some kind of device.

"~Oh no they don't...~" Ayden's eyes and freckles glowed a haunting dark pink with her smirk as she and Loona walked up to the Cherub leader.

Loona picked him up by the wing so Ayden could pluck the device out of his hands before the trio was smacked through the portal by Loona's tail with a final scream with the portal closing behind them.

"The fuck is this thin'....?" Ayden looked over the device and tapped a few random buttons before it revealed some kind of menu where different symbols were listed around a compass icon; a round skull, an axe, a gun, a bone, and a fire.

"What the-...?" Ayden was about to mess with it some more when it was snatched out of her paws by Loona who promptly threw it to the ground to smash under her foot until it was nothing but a mess of wires and metal, "Hey!"

"Don't let'em get to your head, we beat them, day's done, let's go get something to eat." Loona stated before smiling goodnaturedly that made Ayden agree, still somewhat unsure,

"Yeh yeh 'lright..."

The two of them started walking toward where Millie and Moxxie were still making out in the pool, Ayden's tail quickly scooping up as many pieces of the device as it could and discreetly stowing them into her thigh satchel just as Jin jumped onto her shoulder to settle down after all the action.

"He'e." Ayden unraveled one of her glove wraps to hand to Loona for her shoulder before doing the same with the other one as she approached Millie and Moxxie, who were finally done kissing and climbing out of the pool so Ayden could hand Millie the other wrap for her thigh.

"Thanks..." Millie expressed her gratitude with a hand on Ayden's shoulder before she sat down to wrap her leg up.

"Guess the mission's ove' then eh?" Ayden asked as she butted her head against Jin's before they stiffened and jumped down to the ground to start meowing frantically.

"What's with them?" Loona questioned with a raised eyebrow before Jin gave off a long meow,

"MREEOOOWWW!"

And raised their butt to the air to flick their tail around agitatedly to reveal their gold ring was gone so Ayden placed a paw on their head to calm them down as she suggested,

"We'll find it, jus' relax."

Picking them up to go through the street rubble close to where they fought to find it.

Loona was softly smiling ruefully when she noticed Millie, having finished wrapping up her leg, about to follow her when she stepped in front of her to say bluntly,

"Don't be saying anything you won't be able to follow through on..."

Millie gave her a slight look of disbelief at the implication before she walked off to help Ayden and Jin find their tail ring with Millie following soon after.

A few minutes of searching later, Moxxie announced,

"Found it!"

Revealing he had found the ring near the punch crater the Ayden-bot had made so Jin scampered over to him and pounced on him so they could rub their face happily against his while meowing gratefully making him chuckle,

"Heh he.. Alright alright it was nothing."

Before they got off and waited patiently as he put the ring back on their tail before Millie commented as she, Ayden, and Loona walked over to them,

"It was real nice o' yer friends to get that for'em."

A closer look at the ring revealed small engravings of all 27 of their names on it: Einar, Maris, Eulises, Cofla, Caye, Mira, Brisa, Maizy, Sol, Marcie, Rufus, Ronen, Enzi, Freya, Dante, Helios, Heliosa, Blaze, Sonnet, Hugo, Zini, Gray, Agni, Isme, Cyrus, Luz, and Jo.

"Yeh Alex's been real suppo'tive o' them an' Remi keeps offerin' ta get them mo'e clothes and jewel'y stuff." Ayden chatted as they all started walking back to the Ring Elevator to head back to Pride.

"And from what I've heard about her, I'm guessing what she picks out isn't really their style?" Loona questioned with a rueful smirk.

"Nnnnnope!" Ayden starts laughing when she remembers how the last time she and Jin had hung out with Alex and Remi at one of her favorite stores, Forever 13, and she had spent the whole time dolling Jin up in frilly bows, dapper suits, and everything in between while gushing about how cute they were for hours.

At the mention, the others started laughing too when they remembered the photos that Ayden had sent through the I.M.P. group chat and Jin gave a whiny meow of embarrassment,

"Mreoooooow...!"

Before shooting Ayden a dirty look that quickly melted away when she scratched them between the ears and they settled back onto her shoulder, purring the whole way through the Elevator ride, only rousing to eat Ayden's travel puke, a motion that still grossed the others out.

A short while later, Loona bid goodbye to the group as she headed to her and Blitzø's apartment and Millie, Moxxie, Ayden, and Jin had walked to and were entering their apartment when Millie held Ayden up for a quick moment to give her back her phone with a "yeah, yeah..." expression,

"Go ahead and schedule your meeting."

Ayden gave her an appreciative smile and a hug that Millie returned before heading inside to give her some space to send Ozz and Fizz a quick text that she'd be free to meet them tomorrow or the day after while also sending a reply to Via's text about hanging out after her lesson with Stolas next week.

After hitting send, she headed inside only to be met with the sight of Blitzø on the couch looking downcast at the floor with Jin by his side, a paw on his right arm as his left arm was hugging himself, tucked under the right one,

"Uhhh...?" Ayden let out a noise of hesitant confusion and Moxxie answered her unspoken question in a hushed tone,

"We just found him in here like this..."

And she gave a look of disconcerted concern before she struggled to ask Blitzø,

"Did you 'n Stolas have a quickie o' somethin' caaauuuuse...?"

She trailed off when she couldn't bring herself to comment on the fairly short amount of time that'd passed from between the last of the fight with the Cherubs to this moment.

"We didn't even get to fuck... the pompous rich asshole..."

Fur bristling at the similar wording Striker had used, Ayden subtly shook herself off to question,

"What? Did he not give ya the crystal and tell ya he wants ya ta stay only if you wanna?"

"Well yeah he did but-" Blitzø pulled his left arm out from under his other one to reveal where a bright orange crystal now resided on the back of his left glove when he abruptly stopped talking and his pupils shrunk down even more before he questioned in a warning tone, "How did you know about that...?"

Realizing her faux pas, Ayden struggled to answer for a bit before fibbing,

"Uhhh.. I.. snuck out to see what happened...?"

"No you didn't, you were with us the whole time." Millie butted in and Ayden's whiskers, ears, and tail drooped down in frustration before her expression turned to one of slight fear as Blitzø harshly jabbed her in the chest with a claw to yell,

"You fucking told him to tell me that stuff didn't you?!"

"WHAT?! NO!" Ayden exclaimed indignantly before it switched to guilty hesitation as she explained in the face of her boss's wrath, "He jus'... at ou' last lesson yeste'day, he told me how he got that fo' you and asked me what he thought he should do and I jus'... told him to say what he felt was right an-"

She was cut off when Blitzø grabbed her by the front of her shirt to yell in her face,

"Whatever happened to staying the fuck out of me and Stolas's transactional fucking?!"

Ayden's fear quickly turned to anger at the accusatory tone as she shoved Blitzø off of her to shout back,

"Well 'scuuuuse me if that's ha'd cause you'e my boss and he's my teache'!"

She threw up her arms agitatedly as she continued yelling, the two of them full-blown arguing,

"You think I like gettin' dragged into the bullshi'ery you two get up to like I'm the thi'd wheel in some kinda shitty romcom?!"

"Hey! Don't be shit-talking Spirit!"

"I wasn't ev'n thinkin' about that! Satan! Do you eve' shut up about ho'ses!"

"Maybe if you'd actually deal with your own shit instead of burying it down and expecting us to fucking baby you every time you fucking snap then yoooouuu'd shut up about how ~hard your life is!~"

"Take it easy you two!" Millie exclaimed, torn between the two arguing just as Moxxie shouted,

"Sir this is going too far!"

But the two of them were ignored as Ayden's paws started sparking up with her agitation,

"Maybe it wouldn't be so ha'd right now if you and Stolas would jus' talk you' shite out!"

"Why does it matter so much to you that we work it out?!"

Ayden crushed her eyes shut as her face pinched up in pent-up bitterness and frustration when she shouted,

"Cause if you and Stolas can't make it wo'k what does that mean fer me and Via!"

As soon as the words left her mouth, Ayden wished she could've taken them back with the shocked expressions she received and she sputtered to change the potential conversation,

"N-no I di'n't-I-I don'-I-!"

But the next two words out of Blitzø's mouth shut her up immediately as her face fell, her pupils turned to slivers, and her blood froze in horror,

"You're fired..."

I'm sosososo sorry for the summer-long writing blackout.... I got a job as a waitress at a Vietnamese restaurant back in my hometown for the summer working six days a week and with that PLUS the fresh-off-the-shite-grill family drama that's been going on, you all can probably guess that it took A LOT of my time, energy, and motivation to do much creative stuff during my very limited free time.... ^^;

That and this episode and Apology Tour were hard to work with in terms of incorporating Ayden and Jin's stories with them being mainly Stolitz focused... but hopefully I did alright with the direction I'm going for the story and the hints for what's to come before the end of the season...

Speaking of, the Apology Tour episode/chapter should be released within the next few weeks since I'm about a third of the way finished by the time I'm publishing this chapter and ~theeeeeeen....~ *drumroll* a new three-part original episode that will be a Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel crossover will be taking place after that episode/chapter and before Ghostfuckers, whatever that episode ends up being about in October! I've already got the skeleton ideas and plot more or less organized for the three chapters, all that's left to do is actually write them so I don't really have a definitive release date schedule set for those yet... ^^;

Some notes and references for this chapter

That little transition from the I.M.P. office to the Lust Ring is similar to a transition that was done for "Caught in the Crossfire" in the "Scrambled Eggs" episode/chapter since I thought it was too funny not to use again for this timelineThe whole "Millie getting Ayden to hate her so she'll listen more to Moxxie" was partially inspired by an Owl House comic from MorningMark called "The Reason Why He is so Unreasonable" as well as personal experience with emotional manipulation from a parent and family member -_-The idea for Blitzø to show up at Millie and Moxxie's home was inspired by a mini-comic I found on Tumblr, whose creator I couldn't track down from the numerous reblogs vine..., where Blitzø shows up crying to Millie and Moxxie while they're sleeping in the aftermath of Full Moon and Millie comforts him while Moxxie gives him a horse plushieMight wanna pay attention to the robo-suit's final words.. they'll come back up again veeeery soon...Forever 13 is a spoof of Forever 21 in case that wasn't obvious ^^;A digital drawing of the D.H.O.R.K.S.
