Day four

The fact he says " better" makes him sound like a brother 😭😅😭😅😅😭

I sighed. " It really is beautiful, isn't it Pi?"

" Piiiikachu!" Pikachu said sweetly.

I sighed, leaning against the ship's barrier as I remembered what Blue told me and Gary.

And you two's better stay out of their path!

I looked at Pikachu. " Oh, Pikachu...."

" Pi?" Pikachu turned.

" Nothing, it's just....." I looked at the ocean. " What Blue said. Not to cross their paths. If we don't do that, how are we supposed to-"

Suddenly I heard a snicker from behind me. Before I could process anything, someone had pushed me overboard. I was going to fall into the ocean...

... But I didn't.

I looked up, confused, and saw Blue struggling to hold me.

" Just... Hang... On..." He groaned.

I looked at my bag, then Pikachu, who was looking at me with concern. " Hey, Pikachu?"

Pikachu looked at me, and I threw my bag. " Promise me, Pikachu. Promise me you'll take care of them!"

_ Pika?"

I turned to Blue. " And promise me you'll take good care of them."

Blue blinked. _ what?"

" Just promise!"

Blue nodded. " Sure, bu-"

I twisted my arm and fell into the ocean. I could hear Blue yelling, but I didn't turn back.

My pokemon would be safer without me.

I gasped for air, looking at my watch.

Two hours.

Two hours since my Pokemon would be guaranteed safe

I sighed softly.

Pikachu.

My sweet baby girl.

Though I had only had her for a few days, we had grown super close.

Like very.

And now.....

" Piiiiikaaaaa!"

I could even hear her sweet-

" Pika pi! Pikachu!*

" Pikatchu!"

Wait.... Those voices....

I turned, and in the distance I saw two Pikachus and two boys rowing

" Pikachuuuu!" Pikachu jumped into the water and paddled to me.

" Pika- CHU!" I yelled as I sneezed

" Pika?*

I sniffed and smiled. " Oh I'm fi- ACHOOOO!"

Blue and Gary managed to row closer, their expressions a mixture of frustration and relief. Pikachu clung to me, her little paws resting on my shoulder as she nuzzled against my cheek, clearly upset.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Blue shouted as the boat finally reached me. He stretched out a hand to pull me aboard, glaring. "What were you thinking, jumping like that?!"

Gary quickly grabbed the oars, stabilizing the boat as Blue hoisted me out of the water. I landed with a soggy thud, Pikachu still glued to my shoulder.

I sneezed again, wiping my nose. "I-I was just trying to keep you guys safe. If I stayed, I’d put all of you in danger." I glanced at Pikachu, who had big, watery eyes. "I wanted you to be okay, Pikachu."

"That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Gary muttered, shaking his head as he passed me a towel. "Do you seriously think abandoning us was the solution?"

Blue crossed his arms, his usual smug demeanor replaced by something closer to anger. "We're a team, genius. You don’t just leave us behind because you’re scared. That’s not how this works!"

I looked down, ashamed. "But what if something happened to you guys because of me? I couldn’t live with that."

Blue softened a little, though he was still scowling. "Something did happen. You almost drowned! And now, you're sneezing like crazy because you’re soaking wet!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu chattered in agreement, shaking her tiny fist at me before clinging to my side again.

Gary leaned in, giving me a serious look. "Listen, we’re in this together. If there’s danger, we face it together. None of this running away nonsense, got it?"

I nodded reluctantly, feeling tears sting my eyes. "Got it..."

Blue rolled his eyes but ruffled my wet hair. "Good. Now let’s get you dried off before you catch pneumonia or something."

Gary grinned, his annoyance fading into something more playful. "Yeah, because the last thing we need is Nurse Joy scolding us for letting you fall into the ocean."

"Very funny," I muttered, though I couldn’t help but smile.

As the boat made its way back to the ship, Pikachu stayed curled up in my lap, her ears twitching as if to make sure I was still there. I hugged her tightly and whispered, "I’m sorry, Pikachu. I won’t do something that dumb again. Promise."

She chirped softly, forgiving me instantly.

Blue glanced back at us, shaking his head but smiling faintly. "You really are something else, you know that?"

"Yeah," Gary added, smirking. "A lot of trouble."

I stuck my tongue out at both of them, but inside, I felt warm. They were right. We were a team, and no matter how dangerous things got, we’d face it together.

Ten minutes later I was back on the S. S. Anne, in a room, in dry, warm, fuzzy clothes, blanket drapes on my shoulders, holding hot chocolate, being warmed up by my Growlith, and Blue checking on me.

Blue sat across from me, his usual smug expression replaced by something quieter, almost worried. He held a first-aid kit in his lap, carefully unrolling a bandage.

"Hold still," he muttered, reaching for my arm. "You got a pretty nasty scrape when you fell into the water."

I sipped my hot chocolate, feeling the warmth spread through me, but it didn’t ease the ache in my chest. "I didn’t mean to make you guys mad," I said softly, avoiding his gaze. "I just… I just wanted to keep you safe. Even if it meant—"

"Drowning?" Blue cut me off, his voice sharper than I expected. He looked up from the bandage, his blue eyes locking onto mine. "You think we’d be okay with that? You think letting yourself go like that is keeping us safe?"

I opened my mouth, but no words came out. I didn’t know how to explain it, how the thought of anything happening to them terrified me more than the idea of being lost to the ocean.

"Look," he said, softer this time, as he wrapped the bandage around my arm. "I get it. You care about us. But sacrificing yourself isn’t the answer. It’s not brave, it’s—" He paused, searching for the right word. "It’s selfish."

"Selfish?" I blinked at him, startled.

"Yeah." He tied off the bandage and sat back, crossing his arms. "You think we’d just be fine, huh? Like we wouldn’t care if you were gone? Newsflash, genius, we care about you too. You’re not just some trainer running around catching Pokémon. You’re… you’re part of this team. You’re family."

My throat tightened, and I stared down at my mug, the steam curling up into the air. "I didn’t think of it like that," I admitted, my voice barely a whisper.

Blue sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Of course, you didn’t. You’re too busy throwing yourself into danger and making dumb decisions. But we’re here now, and you’re stuck with us. Got it?"

I managed a small smile, even as tears pricked the corners of my eyes. "Got it."

"Good." He stood, closing the first-aid kit with a snap. "Now, get some rest. And don’t even think about doing something stupid again. Gary and I have enough to deal with without you playing hero."

As he turned to leave, Growlithe snuggled closer to my side, his warm fur pressing against me. Pikachu perched on my lap, her tiny paws resting on my hand. I looked at both of them, then back at Blue.

"Hey, Blue?" I called out, my voice catching.

He paused at the door, glancing over his shoulder. "Yeah?"

"Thanks. For… for caring."

He shrugged, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "Yeah, well. Somebody’s gotta keep you alive, right?"

As the door clicked shut behind him, I leaned back against the pillows, feeling a little lighter. Maybe he was right. Maybe I didn’t have to do it all alone. After all, I wasn’t just a trainer—I was part of a team. A family. And for the first time in a while, that thought made me smile.

Day four could also go like this.....

I sighed. " It really is beautiful, isn't it Pi?"

I twisted my arm and fell into the ocean. I could hear Blue yelling, but I didn't turn back.

My pokemon would be safer without me.

The cold ocean water splashed against my face as I treaded helplessly, trying to stay afloat. My heart raced, and I gripped the bag tightly, my thoughts only on my Pokémon. What had I done? They were safe, I told myself. Blue would take care of them. But still, the guilt gnawed at me. Why had I fallen into the ocean in the first place? Why had I left them behind?

I let out a shaky breath and glanced around, the vastness of the ocean stretching endlessly before me. I could barely see anything—just the waves rolling beneath me.

Then, out of nowhere, I heard it.

“Piiiiikaaaaa!”

I blinked, squinting through the mist of the ocean. In the distance, I saw two Pikachus swimming toward me, and with them, two familiar figures—Blue and Gary, rowing in a small boat.

"Pikachu!" I yelled as the little electric mouse paddled furiously toward me, her yellow fur slick from the water.

"Pi-pi!" Pikachu squeaked, finally reaching me. Without wasting a second, she leaped into my arms. I could barely hold on, but I wrapped my arms around her, feeling relief flood through me.

"Pi-kaaaa!" Pikachu nuzzled me with concern, her little eyes wide.

I smiled weakly, but it quickly turned into a sneeze. "ACHOOOO!"

"Bless you!" I heard Blue yell from the boat, his voice loud and clear, even over the sound of the waves. He and Gary were paddling toward me as fast as they could.

"You're such an idiot," Gary muttered, shaking his head as they got closer. "You know that, right?"

"Could've figured that out myself, thanks," I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite the cold. I was freezing, my whole body shivering uncontrollably.

Blue's eyes softened when he saw me, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he quickly reached over the edge of the boat, pulling me up with surprising strength. "Alright, that's enough swimming for today," he said as he helped me into the boat.

I winced, my legs barely able to hold me up. The cold had seeped into my bones. "Blue, you’re... a little rough there."

"You're lucky you didn't drown," Blue replied, his voice a little gruff, but there was an undertone of concern in his words.

Gary muttered something about me being a walking disaster, but I was too exhausted to argue. I slumped onto the seat, and Pikachu climbed onto my lap, curling up to warm me.

"Thanks," I muttered, still catching my breath. "I guess... I shouldn’t have tried to leave."

"Obviously," Blue said, though his voice was softer now. "Next time, don't do something stupid like that. Got it?"

I gave him a weak grin. "Got it."

The boat rocked gently as we made our way back to the shore. By the time we landed, the sun was starting to set, casting an orange glow over the water. But I was in no condition to enjoy the view. My head was spinning, and my leg was throbbing from the injury I hadn’t noticed before in all the chaos.

“Alright, let’s get you back to camp,” Gary said as he helped me out of the boat. He was surprisingly gentle for someone who usually liked to tease me.

Blue, on the other hand, was already rummaging through his bag, pulling out a first aid kit. "Don't even think about moving," he said, his voice more commanding than usual. "You're in no condition to be walking around."

I raised an eyebrow. "And where exactly did you learn how to use a first aid kit?"

"Not that hard, you know," Blue muttered, kneeling beside me. "You just need to know how to patch yourself up. Now hold still."

I watched as he expertly cleaned the cut on my leg, then wrapped it with bandages, his hands moving with practiced precision. I could feel the sting of the antiseptic, but I gritted my teeth and didn't make a sound. Blue was right, I was lucky to have him and Gary around.

"All done," Blue said, his face serious. "Now no more heroics, alright?"

I chuckled weakly, still shivering but feeling much better. "Yeah... I got it. No more jumping off boats."

Gary shot me a look. "Good idea."

Blue helped me sit up and gave me a gentle nudge. "Get some rest. You’ve had a long day."

I nodded, feeling the weight of the day finally catch up to me. Pikachu, still on my lap, nuzzled me again, as if checking to make sure I was okay.

"Thanks, Blue. Thanks, Gary," I said softly, feeling a warmth in my chest that had nothing to do with the bandages on my leg.

"No problem," Blue said, standing up and brushing off his hands. "Just don’t do anything like that again."

"I promise," I said, my voice barely a whisper as I closed my eyes and leaned back against the rock. The night air was cool, and I finally felt safe, surrounded by my friends.

"Pi!" Pikachu said softly as she nestled beside me, and I drifted off into a peaceful sleep, knowing that my Pokémon and I were going to be alright.
