Day 16

Yes that day ?? Was say 15 so I just skipped it

Eh

But anyway....

" Uh.... Mia?" Someone asked

I moaned something and turned over in my bed. " Five more minutes mommy."

" Is she okay?" Someone else asked.

" Are you sure she's champion?" A third asked.

" Believe it or not yes." A forth said.

I felt someone put their hands under my and made me stand up, gripping onto my hand.

" Mmm, coming mom." I mumbled.

The person pulled me forward with their really thin hand- wait was that even a hand?- and to a wall.

" Ow." I muttered.

" Saur...."

" I'm awake, I'm awake " I yawned as I stepped out of the bathroom.

" Saur Ivysaur."

" Though this doesn't look like my room, Bulby."

Then I turned forward, stopped in my steps, and let a blood curling scream.

" WHY ARE THERE GYM LEADERS IN MY ROOOOOOOOOOOOM?!"

" Pika pi!"

I turned to Pikachu. " What do you mean this isn't my room?!"

Brock cleared his throat. " Well, Mia, you see.... You're actually in my gym."

I blinked. " Then what are the others doing here?"

Erica laughed softly. " We're here for the meeting."

I blinked. " Uh huh. A meeting. Right."

" Char, Charmander!"

I raised a brow at my first type lizard. " Okay, so I slept walk all the way here. How was I able to-" I scrolled when I felt the jingle in my pockets

Realization dawned upon me. " Oh."

Blue crossed his arms. " Are you done or can we continue with our meeting?"

I rolled my eyes. " Yeah yeah. You try-"

I tripped over my own feet, yelping as I went stumbling back.

" Yeesh what's with me these days?* I muttered.

Misty helped me up. " Well, coincidentally, we came here to discuss your... Habitats."

" What habits?"

" The habits you acquired after becoming... Champion."

I blinked. " So?"

Lieutenant Surge cleared his throat. " Well, young miss, it so happens the other day we found out you were taking pills.".

I shrugged. " Yeah, so? Becoming champion is difficult, realize it or not."

" Squirtle!"

I looked at Squirtle. " Get down from there, you!"

" Squirtle...."

I groaned. " Okay okay stay where you are. I'm coming."

" Saur."

I turned to Bulby. " Yes?"

He pointed to my nose

" I can smell just fine, thank you."

Koga shook his head. " He means you started to scrunch your nose up too."

" I've always done that."

I walked to the rock wall and looked at Squirtle. " Don't move, okay?" I called.

" Squirtle!"

I turned to Pikachu. " Stay down here, okay?"

" Chu!"

I gripped the walls. " Okay let's do this!"

I carefully climbed... And climbed... And climbed...

When I finally reached Squirtle I held his Pokeball up. " Squirtle return now!*

When Squirtle was sucked back in I realized I had lost my footing.

And I went falling down.

" IVYSAUR GET OUT OF THE WAAAAAAY!" I screamed. " GO!"

" Saur?"

" I'LL BE FINE JUST MOVE!"

Ivysaur moves just as I hit the ground on my back. " Ow...."

Pikachu came running. " Pika Pika piiiii?!"

I sat up and pet Pikachu. " Oh I'm fine."

Then I looked at the gym leaders. " Okay end of discussion. My habits are mine to deal with. This meeting is concluded. Good day!"

"Uh, Mia," Brock started, his arms crossed as he watched me limp away dramatically. "You do realize this isn’t just about you, right?"

I paused mid-step and turned back, eyebrow raised. "How is this not about me? I’m the Champion, right? Doesn’t that mean I get to decide how to handle my habits?"

Erika sighed, stepping forward with her calm demeanor. "Mia, being Champion isn’t just about battles. It’s also about setting an example for others."

"An example?" I scoffed, brushing dust off my clothes. "Like what, climbing rock walls to save a Squirtle? Because I think I nailed that."

Lt. Surge chuckled, shaking his head. "Kid, you’re reckless. That ain’t what Erika means."

"Then what does she mean?" I shot back, arms crossed.

Misty stepped forward, her hands on her hips. "She means that your sleeping pill habit and your chaotic lifestyle are worrying people. We’re here because we care about you, not to scold you."

"Care about me?" I repeated, my voice laced with disbelief. "You all barely know me! And besides, I’ve got it under control."

"You call falling off a wall ‘under control’?" Koga asked, his tone flat. "Because if so, your definition is... unique."

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, so I’ve had a few mishaps. Big deal."

"Big deal?!" Misty snapped, clearly losing her patience. "Mia, you’ve been running yourself into the ground. Do you know how many gym leaders have noticed?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Wait, so you’ve all been gossiping about me? What happened to minding your own business?"

Blue, leaning against the wall, finally spoke up. "It’s not gossip if it’s concern, Mia. We’ve all seen how exhausted you look, how you’re always jittery and unfocused. If you don’t take care of yourself, how do you expect to keep being Champion?"

I opened my mouth to argue but closed it again when I saw the genuine worry in their faces. Even Lt. Surge, who usually looked like he could wrestle an Onix without breaking a sweat, seemed unusually serious.

Pikachu tugged at my sleeve. "Pika pii."

I sighed, crouching down to pet her. "Okay, fine. Maybe I’ve been a little... off lately."

"A little?" Erika asked, raising an elegant eyebrow.

"Okay, a lot," I admitted, standing up and facing them. "But it’s not like I have a manual for this whole Champion thing. I’m just... winging it."

Brock stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "You don’t have to do it alone, Mia. We’re here to help."

"Help?" I blinked, genuinely surprised. "You’re gym leaders. You’ve got your own responsibilities."

"And part of those responsibilities is making sure the Champion doesn’t burn out," Misty said firmly. "We’re a team, Mia, whether you like it or not."

I looked at each of them, their expressions ranging from stern to supportive. It was weird seeing them like this—not as gym leaders I had to defeat but as people who actually cared.

"Alright," I said finally, rubbing the back of my neck. "I’ll... try to do better."

Lt. Surge grinned, giving me a thumbs-up. "That’s the spirit, kid."

"Just don’t try to fix everything overnight," Erika added gently. "It’s a process."

I nodded slowly, a small smile forming on my lips. "Thanks, guys. I guess being Champion isn’t so bad when you’ve got a team like this."

"Good," Blue said, pushing off the wall. "Now, can we finally get back to the actual meeting?"

"Wait," I said, holding up a hand. "Before we do... can someone explain why I woke up in Brock’s gym?"

Brock laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, about that... You sleepwalked here."

"And no one thought to wake me up before I climbed a rock wall?!" I groaned, throwing my hands in the air.

The gym leaders burst into laughter, and despite myself, I couldn’t help but join in. Maybe being Champion wasn’t just about battles and victories—it was also about having people who had your back.
