Day 13
Sorry sorry I just have a lot of good ideas for this
Lorelei tried to stifle a laugh but failed miserably, her shoulders shaking. "Mia, calm down! You're misunderstanding something here."
Greta blinked at Lance, who shrugged, clearly amused. "Why do I feel like this is partially your fault?" she asked him.
"It’s not my fault she didn’t let me finish," Lance replied, arms crossed, watching me flail like a Whismur in distress.
Bruno stepped forward, his brow furrowed. "Kid, what’s with all the noise? You’re scaring Dragonite!"
"BECAUSE I CAN’T FIGHT PROFESSOR OAK!" I screamed, pointing dramatically at the professor, who merely stood there, smiling calmly.
"Mia," Greta said slowly, placing her hands on my shoulders, "listen to me. Professor Oak isn’t the one you’re battling."
I froze mid-scream, blinking rapidly. "Huh? Then why did Lance—"
Lance cut me off, exasperated. "I was trying to explain, but you ran around like a Pidgey in a thunderstorm."
"So who am I battling?" I asked, still wary.
Professor Oak stepped forward, adjusting his glasses with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Well, my dear, it’s not me... but it is someone you might recognize."
As if on cue, the door creaked open, and a shadowy figure stepped into the room. My heart sank when I saw who it was.
"Gary?!" I yelled, my voice cracking.
Gary smirked, arms crossed and looking every bit the smug rival he always was. "Surprised to see me, Mia? Ready to lose?"
"No," I replied immediately. "No, I’m not ready, and no, I’m not battling you!"
Lance sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Mia, you’ve come this far. You can handle this."
"I’M TEN, LANCE!" I yelled, throwing my hands up. "TEN! I’m not emotionally prepared to deal with him! Have you seen how annoying he is?!"
Gary gasped, mock-offended. "Annoying? I’m your rival! You should be thanking me for pushing you to be better."
"Better?!" I shrieked. "You’ve been a pain in my backside since Pallet Town!"
Bruno leaned over to Lorelei and whispered, "Should we stop this?"
Lorelei smirked. "Nah, let it play out. This is way more entertaining than I expected."
Greta nodded. "I mean, Gary does deserve it a little."
Meanwhile, Gary looked thoroughly unimpressed with my outburst. "Are you done yet, or should I give you a minute to finish your tantrum?"
I glared at him, my fists clenched. "You’re impossible, Gary. And no, I’m not battling you. I’ll just—" I glanced around the room, my eyes landing on the window. "I’ll just jump out the window instead!"
"Mia, no!" Lance yelled, but it was too late. I bolted toward the window, throwing it open and half-hanging out before Lance grabbed me by the back of my shirt.
"Let me go!" I whined, flailing my arms. "I’d rather face a horde of Gyarados than battle him!"
Gary snickered, leaning casually against the wall. "Scared, huh? Guess that makes me the real champion."
That did it. I stopped flailing, my blood boiling. " Take that back." I growled.
Gary's eyes widened. " Oh no."
And like that, I had turned full anger.
Let's just say anger me.... Liked to yeet people and jump on people.
And no one could stop me.
Gary's smirk faltered as he took a cautious step back. "Uh, Mia, let’s talk about this—"
"TAKE. IT. BACK," I growled, my fists clenched so tight my knuckles turned white.
Before anyone could intervene, I lunged at him like a feral Mankey. "MIA, NO!" Lance yelled, but it was too late.
Gary barely had time to yelp before I tackled him to the ground. "Take it back, Gary!" I demanded, shaking him by the collar of his shirt.
"Okay, okay!" Gary shouted, his voice cracking. "I take it back! You’re not scared!"
But that wasn’t enough for me. Anger-me had fully taken over. "AND WHO’S THE REAL CHAMPION, HUH? SAY IT!"
Gary winced, trying to shield himself from my furious pokes to his chest. "Y-you are! You’re the champion!"
Lorelei doubled over laughing, tears streaming down her face. "Oh my Arceus, this is gold."
Greta was trying her best to keep a straight face but failed miserably. "Should we… stop her? Or just… let her tire herself out?"
Bruno crossed his arms, grinning. "She’s got spirit. I say we let it ride."
Professor Oak, however, looked mildly concerned. "Mia, my dear, perhaps you should let him go now."
"Not until he admits I’m the greatest trainer ever!" I declared, standing triumphantly over Gary, who was now lying flat on his back.
Gary groaned. "Fine! You’re the greatest trainer ever. Just get off me before I pass out."
I huffed, brushing imaginary dust off my shirt. "That’s more like it."
Lance pinched the bridge of his nose. "Mia, you can’t just tackle people every time you’re upset."
"Well, it worked, didn’t it?" I replied, crossing my arms.
Gary slowly sat up, glaring at me. "You’re insane, you know that?"
"And yet, you still wanted to battle me," I shot back with a smirk.
"Pika pi!" my Pikachu cheered from the sidelines, clearly enjoying the chaos.
Lorelei finally managed to catch her breath. "You know, Lance, maybe you should just let her run the league. She’s clearly got the, uh… ‘energy’ for it."
"Absolutely not," Lance muttered, rubbing his temples.
Gary grumbled as he dusted himself off. "You know what? I’m still gonna beat you in battle."
"Oh, you wish," I shot back, grabbing a Poké Ball from my belt. "Let’s settle this right here, right now."
Gary stood, his confidence returning. "Fine by me. But no tackling during the battle, okay?"
"No promises," I replied with a sly grin, making everyone groan and laugh simultaneously.
And thus, our battle began, with everyone else watching closely—mostly to make sure I didn’t try to yeet Gary across the dojo again.
