Blue being my kid's doctor
I walked into the Viridian City Gym. " Bluuuuue?"
Gary sighed, pushing a stroller. " I don't want to be here."
Blue came from a room. " Yeah?"
" Remember how I said you were going to be my kid's doctor?"
Blue nodded with a raised brow.
I stepped to the side and he gasped.
Blue stared, frozen, at the sight before him. Behind me, Gary stood awkwardly, his hands gripping the handles of a stroller. Inside it were two tiny, babbling babies.
"Wh… Wha… Why…" Blue stammered, pointing at the stroller. His mouth opened and closed like a Magikarp out of water.
I grinned, stepping aside proudly. “Meet Jay and Mimi!”
Blue’s eye twitched. “Mia. Please tell me you’re joking.”
“Nope!” I said cheerfully. “They’re here, they’re real, and guess what? You’re Jay’s doctor!”
Gary groaned, leaning heavily on the stroller. “I told you I didn’t want anything to do with this…”
Blue blinked at Gary. “And you’re okay with this?!”
“Do I look okay?!” Gary snapped, gesturing at the stroller with exasperation. “She dragged me into this! I woke up one day, and suddenly, I’m a dad!”
Blue pinched the bridge of his nose. “Mia. Explain. Now.”
I rolled my eyes. “It’s simple. We had kids. Jay’s yours to take care of medically, and Mimi’s mine because she’s adorable and needs my constant supervision.”
“That’s not an explanation!” Blue shouted.
Gary muttered under his breath, “Don’t try to make sense of it. I gave up hours ago.”
Blue crouched down, staring at the babies. Jay giggled and waved a tiny hand at him, while Mimi cooed and reached for my hair.
“Okay, hold on,” Blue said, standing up straight and pointing at me. “How am I supposed to be a doctor? I don’t even know the first thing about taking care of a baby!”
“You’re smart,” I said, waving it off. “You’ll figure it out. And don’t worry, I’ve already written everything down in a detailed guide. It’s in your mailbox.”
Blue’s jaw dropped. “You left a guide… in my mailbox?”
Gary chuckled darkly. “Oh, it’s not just a guide. It’s an entire booklet.”
I nodded proudly. “Exactly! And don’t worry, Blue. I made sure to include diagrams.”
Blue threw his hands in the air. “Diagrams?! Mia, this isn’t a science experiment!”
Gary sighed, lifting Mimi out of the stroller and cradling her. “You might as well just go along with it. Resistance is futile.”
Blue looked between us, clearly torn between frustration and disbelief. Finally, he pointed at me. “You owe me cake for this.”
“Done,” I said with a grin. “And don’t forget—you’re also the godfather.”
Blue groaned. “Why me?”
Mimi giggled, reaching for Blue’s finger. Despite himself, he smiled slightly. “Well, at least one of them likes me…”
Gary smirked. “Yeah, don’t get too comfortable. Once they start crying, you’re on your own.”
Blue glared at him. “You’re supposed to be the dad!”
Gary shrugged. “And you’re supposed to be the doctor. Good luck.”
I clapped my hands together. “This is going to be amazing!”
Blue groaned again, rubbing his temple. “This isn’t amazing. This is a nightmare.”
The Viridian City Gym was pure chaos. Blue paced back and forth, cradling a screaming Jay while Gary struggled to keep Mimi from climbing out of her stroller. Meanwhile, I sat on the gym leader's chair with a drink in hand, looking entirely unbothered.
"Blue, do something!" Gary shouted, trying to wrestle Mimi back into her seat. "She's got Pokéballs in her hands! She's gonna throw one!"
Blue groaned, bouncing Jay in his arms. "What do you think I'm doing, Gary? And why do I have to handle everything?!"
I lazily waved my drink in their direction. "Because you’re the doctors. Duh."
Gary shot me a glare. "We’re not doctors! You can’t just decide that!”
I raised a brow. “I literally can and did.”
Jay let out a particularly loud wail, and Blue winced, adjusting the baby in his arms. "Why is he crying?!"
Gary snapped, "I don't know, Blue! Maybe because he's a baby?!"
"Why aren't you helping?!" Blue retorted, glaring at Gary while still trying to soothe Jay.
"I am helping!" Gary shouted back, pointing at Mimi, who was now halfway out of her stroller. "She's trying to escape!"
I sipped my drink with a grin. "She’s an adventurous one. Takes after her mom."
Blue spun around to face me. "Mia, get over here and help!"
I leaned back in the chair, twirling the glass in my hand. "Nah. You’ve got this, Doctor Blue."
Jay let out another ear-piercing wail, and Blue groaned, his frustration reaching its peak. “You don’t even know what you’re doing, do you?” he said, glaring at Gary.
Gary huffed. “Oh, like you do! You’ve been bouncing that kid for ten minutes, and he’s still crying!”
"At least I’m trying!” Blue shot back.
“Trying and failing!”
Jay’s wailing reached new heights, and Mimi, seemingly inspired by her brother, started screaming too.
Blue looked ready to collapse. “Mia, for Arceus’ sake, put the drink down and help us!”
I sighed dramatically, setting my glass on the armrest. “Fine. Give me Jay.”
Blue practically shoved the baby into my arms, stepping back and throwing his hands up in defeat. The second Jay was in my arms, he stopped crying and stared up at me with big, curious eyes.
Gary blinked. “Are you kidding me?”
Blue stared, his jaw dropping. “What?! How?!”
I smirked. “It’s called mom magic. You wouldn’t understand.”
Gary crossed his arms. “Oh, really? Then why don’t you use your ‘mom magic’ on Mimi too?”
I shrugged. “Because you’re holding her, and I’m on a break.”
Blue groaned, running a hand through his hair. “This is a disaster.”
Gary slumped into a chair, Mimi still squirming in his arms. “We’re not cut out for this, Blue.”
I laughed, rocking Jay gently. “Welcome to parenthood, boys. You’re doing great.”
Blue glared at me. “If you call this ‘great,’ then I’m scared to see what a mess looks like.”
Gary sighed. “We’re already in the mess.”
Jay giggled in my arms, and I grinned down at him. “Oh, come on. This is the fun part!”
Blue and Gary exchanged a look, both clearly questioning every life choice that had led them to this moment.
