3. Wasn't that sloppy sensei? And I'm a girl Korosensei!

For the first time, I faced him front on for more than a second.

He froze at my smile. Or, is it my face?

I used my mouth to spit out several pieces of cut up anti-sensei knives I hid in my mouth, and having to hold me in place, he held up a tentacle to defend in panic.

Splouch.

A tentacle destroyed. He let go of my hands and leg, leaping back at Mach speed. This was a success. I took advantage of the fact that a teacher wouldn't hurt his students, and forced him into a corner. Brilliant. Now I know what I should do.

"That was sloppy, sensei." I smiled again. "I thought with Mach 20 you would be hard to kill. Hence Korosensei.

But really, sensei, could you actually be an easy mark?" I tilted my head slightly to the other side, and the two knives I held in my hands slithered back into my sleeves.

Done with the first experiment, I turned to the class.

"Sorry guys." I smiled, somewhat embarrassed at their gaping. Except this time, I didn't sense any sort of disgust or unfriendliness, which was relieving. "I just wanted to test out if my knife-up-the-sleeve trick would actually work. Anyways, I hope we have a great year together." I smiled, and for the first time I came to this school, some people actually smiled back, sincerely.

Too bad though. I won't be around for long.

"Leiko-kun, your seat is up the back, the one next to Karma-kun, since you're late for the term." Korosensei said, returning back to his cheery mood.

But there's just one thing he missed...

"Sensei, I mean Korosensei, I know this seems rude but, what did you call me?" I asked, leaning against the teacher's lectern.

"Leiko-kun..." he immediately responded.

"Splendid." I sighed out loud and straightened myself. "Korosensei, in case you haven't noticed, I am a girl." I said, gesturing at myself.

"Nuwah?!" He walked up close to me, and stared at my face.

The rest of the class also stared.

Apart from Rio, who is currently laughing her head off and taking pictures of everyone else's stunned face.

"But... aren't you the boy that kissed Rio-chan?" Korosensei stammered.

"Geez. What a bother. Korosensei, that was to make you embarrassed. And have some fun. It was planned, besides, I only kissed Rio-chan's cheek to make it look real. Although that day I never thought you were an assassination target." I confessed.

"Leiko-san, then your uniform..."

"Oh, this?" I looked down at my school uniform.

Pants not even from the school and school shirt with tie. "The girls uniform was too unfamiliar for me, I like this much better. Besides, I won't be able to kick properly in a skirt." I smiled at everyone innocently, scratching the back of my neck.

"Then, Leiko-san, I would advise you to change into the girl's school uniform immediately." Korosensei said, looking at me with a... Purple face with a cross?! Uh...

"Oh. I can't find it. And my mum told me we can't afford another one, so I used my pants from home that looked like the school pants instead and the second school shirt I had. Oh yeah, and I don't own any skirts by the way Korosensei." I looked down and glued my eyes to the floor.

Much better than looking at a room full of stares.

"Well... Leiko-san, please go to your seat and we shall continue with this English lesson." Korosensei used a yellow tentacle to point at my seat to the back and turned to the board. I heard everyone groan as he started writing.

"Hey, Leiko-chan!" Rio leaned towards me as I passed. "Nice job on delaying the lesson for twenty minutes! He wanted us to write another poem about tentacles..."

"Uh..." I laughed awkwardly and jabbed her on the shoulder for drawing attention to me again as I passed. My heart wavered for a moment. Am I really going to leave her?

I walked up to my seat, only to find it occupied by a bag.

"Hey, whose is this? I picked it up.

"Mine." that red head raised his hand. "I'm used to having it there."

"Ugh." this guy ticks me off. "Take it." I threw the bag at him and he caught it with one hand.

"What," he grinned, "Don't like my stuff tinting your new desk? They're kept close to me all the time~"

"Shush." I plopped down onto my new seat, and started taking out my stuff, ignoring that guy and the weird sensation burning on my face. Probably adrenaline.

"Leiko-san! Nagisa and Nakamaru-san will help you catch up on your studies. Sensei is going to Hawaii." and with that, he sped off at mach 20, leaving a trail of dust. Lunch time is gonna be like this, huh...

"Seriously? He does that every day?" I asked everyone around me, which is practically all of the class.

"Yeah. And hi, I'm Shiota Nagisa. Nice to meet you Leiko-san." Nagisa smiled and sat down on the desk beside me.

"Nice to meet you too Nagisa... uh, um, ch-?" I hesitated. Everyone around me started to grin and I desperately tried to fix my mistake. "Nice to meet you Nagisa-kun! Sorry about that..." I scratched the back of my neck in embarrassment.

"It's alright..." Nagisa smiled, and sweat dropped.

"I'm Yuma Isogai!"

"I'm Megu Kataoka!"

"Nice to meet you Leiko-san! I'm Taiga Okajima!"

"I'm..."

"I'm..."

"Hi! I'm..."

So many people introducing themselves at once!

As each person said their name, I did my best to remember them. Although I'll only need it for today. Nearly everyone was cheerful and ready to talk, conversations started easily, and I felt myself fitting in slightly as the mood around me lifted.

I smile regretfully, the world just won't let me have peace, would it? Another ache.

"Leiko-san, why can't you get another school uniform?"

Hmm? It was lunch time and my mouth is filled with apple, I swallowed. "Oh that. Well, my mums sick so she can't go to work and my part time job isn't that well paid." I said, biting into my apple once more.

"Oh. But what about your dad?"

"Dad, yeah, dad's nowhere to be found." I smiled sadistically around my mouthful of apple, "Haven't seen him since ten years ago.

I suppose he could be dead." Wow. I'm surprised at my own lying skills; so crap. Shouldn't I have made up a better excuse?

Everyone seemed to be taken aback by my statement, and my careless way of stating it.

"Sorry..." Nagisa started, but I held up a hand, just as Rio-chan burst into the room.

"Hiya! Guys, you know...what's up?" she started, but noticed the heavy atmosphere in the room.

"Nothing." I smiled back at her cheerfully. "And really," I said turning to Nagisa-kun. "It was nothing to worry about."

"Oh. That, right." Rio-chan quietened down and then shrugged, as if to shrug off the thought. "Returning to what I was trying to say before..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was already afternoon. Surprisingly, this Korosensei is actually one hell of a teacher. His teaching method is surprisingly effective. But what's more surprising, is that the red-haired guy next to me, is much more active at this assassin than me or anyone else. Very good as well, in fact. But Korosensei has his guard up against him. Apparently, he was the only student other than me who injured Korosensei, and a problematic student at that, too.
He came back to school from suspension the day before yesterday which was the result of his continuous violent behaviour. He seemed to be burning with energy, but I can't really say the energy is a good sort.
Not that I can talk.
Still, he's becoming increasingly irritated as the day goes on, and as his various assassination plans failed. During home economics, Korosensei actually put a pink apron with hearts on him while he was trying to get to Korosensei using the pan of soup he flipped. It was absolutely hilarious and... cute.
I don't think I've ever seen a guy in a pink apron. Hell, I've never seen anyone in a pink apron.
Ring! Riiinng!
The bell sounded as I daydreamed, and I jumped at the sound.
Standing up to pack my stuff, Nagisa-kun walked towards me. Actually, we've become pretty good friends since this morning. However much I tried to avoid attachments, I can't help it since his aura is just like Onee... God. snap out of this. What I'm trying to say is, Nagisa-kun is a great person to be around, the atmosphere is comfortable around him, unlike with Rio-chan, which is nice, but very dangerous and exciting at the same time. But with Nagisa-kun, it's pretty peaceful. A welcoming change from mine and Rio's mischief making personalities.
"Want to walk to the train station together, Leiko-san?" he offered.
"Nah." I smiled and swung my bag on to my shoulders. "I... want to try out something today." my smiled faded a little before I turned, walking out of the door.
"Karma-kun," Nagisa-kun turned to that red head, Akabane Karma as I walked out. "Do you want to come too..." he trailed off as Akabane stood up and walked out of the classroom, walking past me. "Hey Karma-kun!" Nagisa went off after him. And I went the other way, to the other side of the mountains.
I peeked behind me, and saw that Korosensei followed.
Speeding up my pace, I walked past the bushes and trees, until I reached a cliff. Sitting down, I started to take in the view.
The world seems so damn peaceful here.
Most of 3E are turning out to be nice, but I shouldn't care so much about that. Not anymore. A hollow ache.
My heart lurched.
I grabbed the ground beside me, dug my fingers into the soft dirt, and swung my legs across so that they're hanging off the cliff.
I feel so free here. No pain, no blood, no shouting or screaming, hallucinations or reminders of the past. Just nature. Pure nature.
But really. What is the point of this again? Life feels so much like a game now. A shit one at that. Sigh... I looked up at the sky, the sun and the faint outline of the destroyed moon. Preparing myself for the last time I will ever see them.
"Leiko-san. Can you move away from that cliff a bit? Sensei is worried." So Korosensei finally turned up.
I stood up and turned around to face him. "Korosensei." I smiled. "I never thought you would be a teacher. A real teacher."
"Of course, I am! A teacher is a teacher."
"Well, that just makes things. So much simpler." I muttered.
Looking up at my yellow target, I smiled again. "It's a teacher's duty to protect his students, even with his life, am I correct?"
"Yes."
"Well then... I can end this here." I smiled and took a careful step back, falling back off the cliff, whipping two guns from my pocket as air rushed around me, engulfing my fall from the cliff.
The wind sped past me, feeling hollow, I raised the guns.
I'm at least going to make my existence useful this time before I fade, to make up for my uselessness in the past. If Korosensei tries to save me from death, I can kill him in mid-air. If he let me die, then no one will ever trust him again. Then, as a human, or a teacher, his existence would cease to exist. Only an inhuman monster will remain. Brilliant. And if I were to die, it still will be a relieve.
Oh, really?
Of course. Of course. Two birds with one stone... I thought, but a hollow ache jerked my heart again. Onee-san... I miss you so much. Mother, and Father too... no, murderer...
My thoughts are starting to jumble up together, but I held my weapons tight, and pictures of the past flashed, bringing bloody memories back.
I griped the gun tighter as the ground neared, and neared.
Nearly there, Onee-san... I'll save the world or meet you.
In death.
