Some people always say that life is full of surprises. Others think that life is just what it is: Predictable. Well... That's proven to be wrong. Here's why:

Jin is a vegetarian. He can't stand the taste of meat. Naoki knows that. It's his lifestyle choice if he doesn't want to eat meat.

Here's the reason why life is a surprise:

The two sat in the kitchen of Naoki's house, eating breakfast. Eggs, toast, bacon; just a simple small breakfast for the two. They ate together silently, Jin staring at his bey Jormuntor while Naoki was going over some data points on his tablet.

Naoki, being as observant as he is, noticed a slight shift in his boyfriend's behavior, he being somewhat short tempered lately. He glanced up from his tablet, watching as Jin reached over and snagged a piece of bacon off the plate where they lay, taking a bite off the strip.

         "Hey Jin?" Naoki started, causing tired green eyes to look from Jormuntor to him. "You are aware that you are eating bacon, right?" He asked. Jin looked at the bacon in his hand and shrugged, taking another bite.
         "So?" He said, directing his gaze back to his lover.
         "It's just that... You've never liked eating meat in the past because you've always been a vegetarian. Are you feeling ok?"
        "I feel perfectly fine Naoki..." Jin said quietly, placing his bey in his pocket and finishing the strip in his hand. "There's no need to worry, alright?" He stood and stumbled over to his boyfriend, kissing his forehead softly.

Naoki sighed, placing his tablet on the table and grabbing Jin's hands softly.
        "You've been acting weird lately... You've been a bit short tempered, I just watched you eat meat, and I've noticed that you have been drawn to strawberries." The taller blader explained, staring into Jin's eyes.
       "What's your point Naoki?" Jin asked, blinking a couple of times.
       "My point is that you're a vegetarian, I've never seen you mad before, and the simple fact that you don't even like strawberries. It's always been blueberries for you."

Jin froze, his eyes going a little wide when he thought of something. He squeezed Naoki's hands slightly, a shaky breath escaping his lips.
         "I might be pregnant..." He said softly, making his lover freeze.
         "Pregnant?" Naoki echoed, tilting his head slightly. He chuckled softly, thinking this was all just a joke. "You must be joking... Don't pregnant people start craving sour things? I thought I read something on that. Even if I did, you're a male. You can't carry a child."

The green-eyed male tore his hands away from his boyfriend's grasp, an upset look in his eyes and his sharp teeth formed into a frown.
         "Naoki I'm serious..." He dead panned, making the teenage scientist look at him strangely.
         "Ok, then congratulations." Naoki said, deciding to go along with the joke.
         "Re... Really?" The smaller blader asked, his glare faltering at the response.
         "Well yeah. How about we celebrate after the tournament today?" Green eyes shined behind the shadow of his hat, his lips curling into a smile. "How does pie sound to you?"
         "I... I like pie." Jin smiled, shaking his hands around. Naoki grabbed his hands once more, kissing the backs of them before he stood and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
         "I know... Come on, let's go watch the tournament so I can treat you after." The taller male said softly, grabbing his tablet and leading Jin out of the house.

They walked around town, their hands clasped tightly together as they did. The tournament went well to say the least. Some bladers they liked moved on, and so did a couple they didn't. Even some they haven't seen before moved on.

The two walked through the door of a bakery, making their way up to the counter to order what they want. Naoki just decided to get some of the bread they serve while Jin lived up on his word and gotten pie. What kind of pie? Strawberry pie.

        "This is my point Jin." Naoki said as the two sat at a table in the bakery.
        "Maybe I just wanted to try something new... I thought I said not to worry..." Jin replied, taking a bite of his pie. The taller blader blinked, sighing before eating his own baked good.
        "Hey guys!" An energetic voice suddenly called out, making the green-eyed male jump and drop his fork on the plate. He breathed out, calming his heart before turning to the voice.

Valt Aoi had walked through the front door of the bakery, his mom apparently owning it, looking as if he just got out of practice.
        "What are you guys doing here?" He asked, looking at the other two bladers. Jin just shrugged and went back to his food, eating it happily.

Naoki placed his bread back on the plate, looking over at the bluenette.
        "Just eating something after the tournament. How about you?" He said, glancing over at his boyfriend.
        "Just got done with bey practice! Training for the upcoming team battles!" Valt beamed, taking off his bag. "But what's up with Jin? He seems a bit distance."

Jin looked up from the plate at the mention of his name, a glint in his eyes and a small smile gracing his lips.
        "I'm fine... We're just celebrating..." The small male replied, taking another bite of his pie. Naoki grabbed his glass of water, taking a drink of it as he looked at his lover.

Valt tilted his head slightly, confused at what the green-eyed male said.
        "Celebrating?" He echoed. "Celebrating what?"
        "Celebrating the fact that I'm pregn-" water splashed all over him, cutting his sentence short and drenching him. The black-haired male looked down at himself before his eyes snapped up to his lover, who was just setting down a now empty cup.
        "Sorry, my hand slipped." Naoki said, a bit upset. "Come on, I'll help you dry off." He grabbed Jin's arm, pulling him out of the seat and towards the door.
        "B-but... My pie." Jin looked from his boyfriend to the half eaten pie sitting on the table, it disappearing from his sight when he was pulled through the door. Valt tilted his head, genuine confusion written on his face.
         "What?"

Naoki was pissed off. Pissed off that Jin was going to throw a sick joke like this in the air. The smaller male stood in front of a wall in an alley, pulling at his now soaked clothes. The orange-eyed male slammed his hand on the wall, a fiery look in his eyes.
        "Jin..." He muttered bitterly. "You can't joke around like that in public. You can only do that to me at home..."

Jin wasn't even listening. He was too busy trying to get his very wet hoodie off for some relief, muttering to himself as he did.
        "My clothes are soaked... And there was still pie left..." Naoki deciphered from the sentences, making his glare soften. Jin put his hat back on after successfully getting his hoodie off, a shadow casting over his eyes from it.

The taller blader brushed a strand of black hair out of his face before resting his hand on his cheek, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to the smaller boy's lips.

Jin kissed him back on instinct, tightening his hold on his hoodie when he did. Naoki pulled away, leaning down to kiss his neck as he pushed him closer to the wall.
         "N-Naoki..." The smaller blader moaned softly, wrapping an arm around him. "N-now? What if s-someone sees?"
         "We're in an alley... No one's gonna see..." Naoki said softly, biting his neck suddenly. Jin pushed him off at that, shaking his head and rubbing his neck, leaving his boyfriend both shocked and confused.
         "No." He growled, glaring at him. "Absolutely no sex during the pregnancy."
         "What? Jin-"
         "Naoki, if you're going to be like this, then we need some time apart." He held tightly to his hoodie. "I have to go..." And he ran off without saying anything else, leaving Naoki to watch him leave and think about what just happened.

Jin walked into a clinic, his hands buried into his hoodie pocket as he checked into his doctor appointment. A few days ago, something happened. He still remembers the phone call he gave to his lover.

        "I started craving the sour things..." He said softly into the phone. Naoki nearly choked on the drink he had taken, patting a hand on his chest and swallowing.
        "Wh... What?" He coughed, shock in his voice.
        "The sour things... I never liked them before. But now, I can tolerate them. It's weird..."
        "Then... I think you need to get to a doctor. See if it's true that you're pregnant." Tears were already streaming the smaller boy's cheeks.
         "It's this Friday..." He said quietly, gripping the phone tighter. "I'll call you later... Love you."
         "I love you too Jin... Sleep well."

He'd be lying if he said he wasn't nervous, because he is. He's been in a blind state of mind when it came to him believing he's carrying an actual human inside him.

The doctor called him back, doing all of the necessary things when starting a checkup. She brought him back to a room, having him sit down as she washed her hands and put some gloves on.
        "Alright honey." She started, going to her clipboard. "What brings you by today?"

Jin fumbled with his fingers, his green eyes staying to the floor as he took a deep breath.
         "I... I need you to check something..."

Naoki unlocked the front door to his house, stepping inside and closing it behind him. He set his keys on the counter along with his tablet and his bey Nepstrius. Black boots laying on the ground caught his attention, making him raise an eyebrow.

        "Jin?" He called, walking through the kitchen to the living room, finding his boyfriend sitting on the couch, his hat and hoodie next to him and his head in his arms. "Hey there... What's wrong?"
        "I-it's just a stomach bug caused by a cold..." He whimpered softly, fresh tears trailing his cheeks. "Because of that, it made me crave things that are refreshing and full of protein... And the fact that men cannot carry a child..."

Naoki's heart ached, knowing how excited he was about this whole thing. He walked over to the couch and sat on the arm, reaching over and rubbing his back softly.
         "I'm kind of glad you aren't pregnant." The taller male confessed, making tired green eyes snap up to him.
         "What?" The smaller male felt hurt.
         "If you were pregnant, then you wouldn't be here..." Naoki knelt down next to him, taking one of his hands. "I missed you too much..." He pulled him into kiss, tightening his hold slightly. The smaller male kissed him back, tears still streaming his cheeks, happy he can feel Naoki's touch once more.

Jin sat up in his boyfriend's bed, a dull pain in his lower back and his black hair an absolute disaster. He moved to get up and get dressed, but a hand placed itself on top of his, stalling his movement.
        "Getting up already...?" Naoki asked softly, his voice quiet from sleeping. Jin smiled slightly, bringing the taller male's hand up and placing a soft kiss on the knuckles.
         "Yeah... I'm gonna get some training in with Jormuntor..." Naoki yawned, stretching his arms slightly before moving to lay on his back.
         "Ok... I'm going to sleep a little more... Love you..." The smaller blader leaned down and kissed his forehead, pushing some of his hair out of face.
        "I love you too Naoki..." He got up and got dressed, making sure Jormuntor and his launcher were in his pocket. He spared another glance at Naoki before walking out.

About two hours later, with Naoki already up and studying some new strategies for Nepstrius, his tablet suddenly went off.
          "Hello?" He answered, continuing to type away on his computer.
          "Hi there, I'm looking to talk with a Naoki Minamo." A female's voice spoke through the other end.
          "That would be me. May I ask who is calling?"
          "My name is Doctor Lucy Everfree from the Beigoma City clinic. I understand you have relations to Jin Aizawa, am I correct?" A clinic? Why does a doctor want to talk to him about Jin?
 
Naoki pushed his glasses up, turning more toward his tablet.
         "You are. I'm sorry, but why are you calling?"
         "I would actually like you to come by. We need to discuss some things about him." Doctor Everfree said.
         "Alright. I shouldn't be long, so I'll see you soon."
         "I look forward to meeting you Mr. Minamo. See you soon." With that, she hung up. Naoki leaned back into his desk chair and stared up at the ceiling for a minute, thinking about what she said. Was something really wrong with him?

He stood up, grabbing his bey and his tablet. He wrote a note for Jin if he were to get home before him and panic. He set out to the clinic that wasn't too far away, looking around as he did.

About ten minutes later, the clinic came into his sight line. Naoki pushed the door open, his orange eyes scanning his surroundings as he walked up to the receptionist's desk.
        "Excuse me, my name is Naoki Minamo. Dr. Everfree is expecting to talk to me." He told her, pushing his glasses up once again. The receptionist nodded, pointing over to a hallway.
        "Just go down that hallway, and her office is the third door on the right." She said sweetly, giving him a smile. Naoki gladly returned it, nodding to her.
        "Thank you so much." He replied. He made his way down the hall and stopped in front of the door at the end, taking a deep breath before knocking.

A soft 'come in' was heard, Naoki turning the knob and walking in.
         "You must be Naoki Minamo." A young woman who looked no older than 24 said, standing and holding out her hand. "I'm Doctor Lucy Everfree, it's nice to meet you."
         "It's nice to meet you too." He shook her hand, taking a seat after. "So, you wanted to talk to me about Jin. Is something wrong?"
         "Mr. Minamo, it's not the fact that something's wrong. It's the fact that I've discovered something incredible." She started, opening up a file. "Mr. Aizawa came in yesterday for a check up. He wanted me to check something. I was shocked at his request but I did it anyway."

She pulled out a photo, it being black and white, and set it in front of the teenage scientist.
         "This is his ultrasound picture.  At first, I didn't think anything of it, but as I kept staring at it, I realized there is something there." She explained, folding her hands together. Naoki looked at the photo, he too noticing something within it.
         "He's currently a month and a half." She said, making orange eyes snap up to her.

Jin had to be home by the time Naoki left the clinic. He's still in shock, not believing that this was actually happening. Was this reality? Was his mind playing a sick trick on him?

         "I'm home!" He called out as he walked through the door. Silence. He looked to the floor and saw Jin's boots there, but where's the smaller male? "Jin?" He walked around, checking all the rooms in the house.

Not the living room. Or any of the bedrooms. He heard something, it coming from the upstairs bathroom. The taller male came face to face with a closed door, the sound he heard coming from behind it.

He knocked softly, turning the knob and pushing the door open, finding his boyfriend distressed and throwing up the contents in his stomach. Naoki closed the door behind him and knelt down, pulling his hair back from his face and rubbing soothing circles into the green-eyed male's back.

Coughing followed after the wretched way to empty your stomach, Jin pressing a hand to his throat as it burned and finally turning to face Naoki.

His face was covered in marks, bruises among them and a forming black eye.
        "Jin, what the hell happened to your face?" The teen scientist asked, carefully cradling his face.
        "I kept... I kept messing up my launch... My bey... He kept hitting me... My arms are scratched up too..." Jin said softly, coughing after.

Naoki helped him up, flushing away the vile fluids before grabbing the first aid kit and leading him to the living room. He had his smaller lover sit on the couch, opening up the kit and working to clean and bandage the cuts on his face and arms.

        "Where did you go...?" Jin asked softly, watching his boyfriend as he helped him.
        "I had to speak with someone in town. At that clinic you went to yesterday. It was in regards to your health." Naoki replied, finishing off the cuts and leaning in to leave soft kisses on the bruises.
        "What?" The green-eyes male was honestly confused. "Was it that doctor I seen yesterday?"
        "It was. She wanted to talk to me about something she had discovered after seeing you." Naoki explained, a small smile gracing his lips. "She showed me a picture of your ultrasound and gave me incredible news."

The small male tilted his head, blinking a couple times as Naoki took a deep breath.
         "Jin... You're pregnant." He said, a wide smile stretching across his features. Jin blinked, shocked at the news.
         "B-but she said it was a cold... She left me heartbroken..." He said softly. Naoki held his hands gently, giving them soft kisses. "I'm... I-I'm really pregnant?"
         "It's true. I've seen it myself." The orange-eyes male smiled at him, pressing their foreheads together. "You're happy, aren't you?"

Jin didn't answer, gripping his hands a little tighter and pressing himself more into him.
          "I-I'm more than happy..." He said softly, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend after taking his hands back, smiling wide. "We're gonna be parents Naoki."

The taller male nuzzled him, for that he's going to have a child with the one he loves. He held him, feeling the weight on his chest increase which meant that Jin had fallen asleep.

Naoki grabbed under his legs, hoisting him up and walking upstairs, placing him in bed.
          "Get some sleep... You need it..."
