1: Bare Minimum
"Are you excited, YN? I was excited on my very first day on tour with the Bangtan Boys too." Mi Cha guided you to the trailer where you would be staying with the rest of the hair and make-up crew. "Now, you said you could do hair too, right? That was a contingency of us hiring you. Because if one of the hair guys gets sick, then you have to be able to cover for them. Usually the boys don't change hair colors in the middle of tour, but you never know."
She tutted her tongue and shook her head.
"But don't worry about their hair right now, honestly. You're going to have enough on your plate already. Set your stuff down here and grab your kit. I'm going to take you and the new hair guy, Taemin or something, and the lead hair guy Iseul. You'll each practice on each other to nail the looks as best you can until it's time to go."
"But I don't have the same hair as the group..." You mentioned as you quickly set your duffel bag on the bunk bed, took your large, black, rolling make-up bag with you.
"Not for styling. He's going to practice other things. Combing gently, getting gel out and other specific comfort items. You just got off tour with Highlight, right?"
"Formally, Beast. Right. A bit of a different aesthetic from BTS here." You followed behind Mi Cha, but her pace was quick. Really quick.
"That's why I'm here. But I won't be here to watch you do your make-up in three days when we're sending the boys out on stage. Which is why I'm watching you do it now." Suddenly, she stopped and you had to stutter-step to avoid running into her. Looking around her wide body, you saw that the other two aforementioned people were already there.
"YN." You introduced yourself as you bowed.
"We all just go by our first names here. Even the boys, although they use their nicknames more. So don't even bother with formalities." The older man nodded to you. "I'm Iseul."
"Taemin." The younger man stood up and bowed back.
"Sit back down. We will at least let the pretty young lady go first. That way you can look pretty when you're doing her hair." Iseul chuckled to himself.
"Are you ready? Get set up." Mi Cha turned away from you and began amicably chatting with Iseul as you gulped. You could tell this was one final test. That was the problem with your line of work. It was never stable. One terrible look; one horribly unsatisfied customer and you were gone. It didn't matter if you had just done the make-up of the gods, your next look had better be right.
So you laid out everything you thought you might need immediately. Lotion, foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow, primer, finishing powder, lip stain, lip gloss, blush, mascara, eyebrow pencil, eyebrow stencil, eyebrow filler, tweezers. No where near everything that you would actually need, but it would do for the moment.
"Alright, Mi Cha, I have the bare minimum out."
"See? Eh? Good attitude on this one." She motioned at you to Iseul. "Alright, let me start by giving you their usual every day looks for meet and greets or for their social media pictures. Taemin, are you ready? Let's get pretty."
