Chapter 14
"Luke, he still doesn't answer! What am I supposed to do?" It's been three days and Louis still didn't answer Harrys' calls. His fear increased that he had lost Louis and it was Harrys' fault. It was a terrifying thought.
"I don't know. Have you tried texting him yet?" Luke suggested. He didn't seem as annoyed with Harrys' whining as yesterday, thankfully. They were in the city because school was over and they had nothing better to do.
"No." Harry answered Lukes' question, "I've already told you, I want to talk to him. Over What's app it's-..."
"I know, I know." Luke interrupted, "You want to see if he means everything he says, but I mean, maybe you could text him exactly that. Or tell him how you feel right now. I mean..." He sighed, "Right now he seems like an asshole but I don't think he's heartless, like, I don't think everything you told me was meaningless to him. And," He laughed, "you ditched me for him so often. Why would he spend so much time with you if he didn't at least like you as best friend or whatever?"
"I didn't ditch you for him!" Harry protested.
"Not exactly." Luke said, "You just made it clear that you'd rather do something with him than me."
Harrys' eyes widened, "Oh my-, I'm sorry, I didn't realize-..."
Luke laughed and interrupted again, "I get it. It's okay. You're in love."
"I'm not-..." Harry began protesting, but stopped when something caught his eyes. "Calum!" He yelled and walked faster.
The dark haired lad turned around and smiled as did Michael next to him. "Hey mate." Calum said and Michael pulled him into a hug as a greeting.
"Hi." Harry said, "Luke, this is Louis' room mate Calum and his friend Michael. Guys, this is Luke, my best friend."
"I thought Louis and you were best friends now." Calum wondered.
"Nah, they were more on boyfriend terms." Luke commented. They laughed while Harry blushed.
"Speaking of." He interrupted, "Did he say anything to you? About me, I mean."
"Err... not really, didn't see him much since, I don't know. He's moping around. When he's in this mood you should better wait 'till he comes to you. He wouldn't tell you anything that's bothering if you ask him to." Calum explained, "Why? What happened?"
"I don't exactly know." Harry shrugged, "After our date on saturday everything was fine, but tuesday in dance class he suddenly avoided me and wouldn't explain why and okay, I might have called him a idiot but I wanted to apologize but he doesn't even answer his phone." That was the fastest he ever spoke such a long sentence and now he took a deep breath since he didn't while he talked.
"Wait, wait," Calum waved his hand around pointlessly, "You went on a actual date? Like, we're going to be boyfriends kind of date?"
"Yeah." Luke answered, "And they already snogged."
"Wait." Harry blushed because of Lukes comment but ignored it, "He didn't tell you?"
Calum shook his head, "No, he didn't even tell me he liked boys."
He sounded hurt and so did Harry as he asked, "Do you think he doesn't? That he just played me?" Harrys' stomach churned at the thought.
Calum shook his head again, "No! Gosh, no. Louis might be a sassy bitch and trust me when I say you don't want to get on his bad side, but he wouldn't do that. Especially not to you. He adores you."
"Then what happened?" Harry wondered, trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach.
"Maybe he is afraid." Michael said, for the first time in this conversation.
"Of what?" The curly haired asked.
"Well, I don't know when he figured out he liked boys but I'm guessing you were the reason. And maybe he wasn't ready to come out. He tends to run away from his problems instead of talking about it." Michael explained.
Luke chuckled, "Wasn't Calum supposed to be his best friend?"
Calum smiled fondly and threw an arm around his temporary red haired friends' shoulders, "Michael is good at figuring out people. Always was." Michael blushed. "Anyways," Calum continued, "I'm going to talk to Louis."
"Okay," Harry agreed, "But don't pressure him. I think he likes Eleanor," He tried to ignore the painful tug in his heart, "And if she makes him more happy than me," He took a shaky breath and blinked his tears away, willing himself not to cry, "Then I'm happy for him."
"Oh dear," Michael cooed and stepped to Harry to wrap his arms around him. That caused Harry to break and he cried into Michaels' shoulder. Calum and Luke stood beside the emotional pair awkwardly and didn't know what to do with themselves. People passing gave them looks but Michael didn't care and cooed at the crying boy in his arms, "Everything will be okay, shhhh... We'll talk to him, okay? I'm sure there is another explaination, and if that's it then you deserve better. But I bet he still likes you very much, don't lose hope, Haz, it's okay, shhh... It will be okay..."
"Michael?" Harry asked between hitches of breath.
"Yes?"
"I love him."
Michael sighed, "I know exactly how you feel, trust me..." Harry pulled his head back to look at him questioningly through his mist of tears. "Don't ask." Michael answered to the unasked question. Harry nodded slowly.

Later in the evening when Harry was already in bed he looked at his phone and tried to figure out what to write Louis.
Earlier in the shopping mall Luke, Calum and Michael did a great job keeping his mind off of Louis. The topic wasn't mentioned again and they had a great time together.
But now Harry wanted to know what was going on with Louis and apparently the boy didn't want to talk. So he texted.
Louis, I don't know what's going on but I really want to talk to you about whatever it is because I really like you and I thought you did too. But if you don't that's okay. You can be with whoever you want and I know you can have whoever you want. So maybe me having you was too good to be true but I really don't want to lose you as a friend. So I'm sorry for whatever I've done and just know that I'm always here for you.
