"What do you mean?" Jace was sure he could hear his own heartbeat right now and Alec turned his eyes to him. "He won...he got what he wanted and I let him get it." The voice of Alec wasn't filled with pain or anger anymore but what it was filled with was worse and it scared Jace because you only had this tone if you gave up. Alecs voice was filled with indifference because he didn't care anymore and he gave up. He gave up always trying to escape the hell William put him in and he gave up trying to fight for his happiness. "Alec...you know that's not true. Look who you are now...you are happy and you love...you live." Jace knelt in front of his big brother trying desperately to not let Alec slip through his hands and Alec chuckled bitterly. "You don't understand. I only live until he decides to break me and no matter how fast I will run he will always get me. Even he is dead he is still controlling me and no matter how hard I try he will always be right next to me...remembering me what I really am. I'm nothing but a broken toy. " Jace felt how the fear creeped up his legs and wrapped it self around his heart as his brother was talking with this lifeless look in his face. "Okay...stay here, I'll call Magnus." Jace knew he couldn't reach Alec right now and he could only think of one person that was able to help Alec right now. He wanted to get up to call Magnus but Alec grabbed his hand stopping him and Alec swallowed hard. "Don't...I don't want to see him right now." This sentence almost scared Jace more than the moment he saw his brother after William rapped him and his eyes started to tear up. "Alec...you need to tell me what happened. I want to help you but I can't help you if you don't let me." Jace was on the edge of breaking down because he felt like he was losing his brother and he didn't even know why he was losing him. "You can't help me...no one can." Alec stated while this war inside of his head finally came to rest but only because Alec didn't care anymore. He didn't care to fight anymore and let the dark thoughts consume him and the pain was at a point he didn't even feel it anymore. After so many tears Alec cried because of the pain that William caused Alec could finally say he was used to it. Jace heart dropped to the ground and his whole body tensed but he wouldn't give up. He carefully wrapped his arms around his big brother hugging him and Alec didn't stop him but he didn't hug back either.

Magnus was so glad when this long meeting was finally over and he took a deep breath. The meeting took way longer than he was expecting it to be and he really missed Alec more with each minute that passed. He stood at the window of his office trying to order all the new information of the meeting but he could only think about Alec. He could only see his bright smile and his sparkling eyes but he felt this odd feeling in his chest. He knew Alec was hiding something and after breaking his head over it the whole night he decided to just ask him. He promised Alec to never let him push him away so he wouldn't let him do that now so short after they just decided to move in with each other. Magnus felt his phone vibrating in his pocket and quickly took it out frowning when he saw the name. He was expecting a call from many people but he surely didn't expect one from this person. "Jace...why are you calling? Is something with Alec?" Jace never called Magnus before so he was really worried when he actually did and the long silence on the other side let Magnus heart beat faster. "I think you should come... Magnus...he...I think he gave up." Magnus heart stopped as he heard the last words and he dropped the phone on the ground. The fear shot through Magnus body like a wave of electricity and his heart started to beat way too fast. Magnus just left everything not caring about his phone or anything else and rushed to his car. He had to get to Alec as fast as possible because if Jace was right Alec was hiding something that was worse than anything Magnus imagined...//tbc
