The dinner was going really well and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun even one person was still missing. Jace didn't show up yet but no one knew where he was and Alec already called him a few times always only reaching his voicemail. Robert told them that Jace said he had to do something really important and hurried out of the house at 5pm. Alec had a slight guess what he was doing that was why he didn't call him anymore after Robert told him about it. "Mhh...Magnus... this is so yummy!" Max moaned rubbing his belly and the room was filled with chuckles. "Thanks, Max. Your brother helped me cooking it." Magnus answered flashing Alec a soft smile and placed his hand over Alecs that was resting on the table. "You helped him? Is your kitchen alright, Magnus?" Izzy teased a little making Alec graon and he rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Oh shut up. I wasn't the one who burned water." Alec  answered making Izzy gasp and Simon looked at her with wide eyes. "You did what?" Simon asked shocked and Izzy gave her brother a death glar but Alec only smirked at her. "It only happened once..." "Yes but only because after that mom didn't let you in the kitchen anymore." Alec added feeling like this was a really important part that had to be added and Izzy rolled her eyes dramatically. "Wow...you two could be twins. That eyeroll has to run in the family." Magnus said when he saw Izzy rolling her eyes just like Alec usually did and Alec chuckled. "Don't worry...I couldn't cook until I was 27 and only learned it because I had 3 children who wouldn't eat McDonald's every day." Miranda chuckled and Mark smiled at her. Alecs family and they got really good along and since Miranda was only a few years older then Maryse Alec actually could see the chance for a nice friendship. Mark also remembered him a lot on his own father but his dad was maybe a little more the softy than Mark. "Mark, Alec told me that you share my passion for golf." Robert said after he finished his dinner and Magnus looked with a frown at Mark. "You like golf?" Magnus was pretty surprised because he didn't expect Mark to like this kind of sport. Mark seemed more like the guy who watched boxing or football but not golf and Mark chuckled. "Yes, I go usually every two weeks. Surprised?" Mark answered looking at Magnus who shook his head and continued to eat. "Maybe we could go together once. I heard there is this great spot just 35 minutes away from here." Robert suggested and Maryse was in a deep conversation with Miranda about the new art museum that was supposed to open next week. "Are you tired, Buddy?" Alec asked when he saw how a big yawn left Max lips and Max nodded rubbing his eyes. It was already 8:45pm and for Max this was actually late since he had to get up at 6am for school. "He had a long day, poor baby had his sport day today." Maryse answered and pinched Max cheek a little but Max was too tired to complain about the name so he just rolled his eyes. "You wanna sleep? I can go upstairs with you. I'm sure it isn't a problem, right Mags?" Alec asked looking from Max to Magnus who quickly shook his head and smiled at them. "Of course it isn't!" Magnus answered and the little boy looked pretty relieved about the option. "Can you carry me?" Max asked acting more tired so he wouldn't have to walk anymore and Alec sighed with a smile on his lips. "Sure, big baby." Alec chuckled and got up but he pressed a quick kiss on Magnus lips before he took Max in his arms. The two of them went upstairs and Alec laid with Max down on the bed for a while until he was asleep. It didn't take long for Max to drift off to sleep but the more funny thing was that it didn't took long until Alec either. He fell asleep with the laughing of the others filling his ears but it was gone soon and he fell into a deep comfortable sleep. Magnus had to say he could get really used to have family dinners like this more often and he liked how everyone got along with each other. "Oh my god!!!" Izzy suddenly yelled and almost hit her phone in Simons face who backed away confused. "Babe, what the hell?" Simon asked until he saw the picture and his jaw dropped. "Oh my god." Simon breathed and pulled the phone closer so he could see the picture better. "What is going on?" Maryse asked when she saw their shocked expression and everyone got really curious. "Look at this." Izzy said still not believing it and showed Maryse the picture. "Robert! Oh my god." Maryse exclaimed and pulled Robert out of his seat who let the fork fall because he was so shocked. "He did not!" Robert couldn't believe what Jace did and he looked at the picture with an open mouth. "What did he do?" Magnus asked and Izzy looked like she was planning something already in her head. "He...he and Clary...their are engaged." Simon answered and Magnus looked like he saw a mouse running over the table. "I gotta tell Alexander that!" Magnus answered and hurried up the stairs to his room. "Alexander, you won't beli..." Magnus stopped to talk when he saw Max and Alec in his bed both tight asleep. A soft smile spread over Magnus face and he just couldn't help himself. He took out his phone and made a picture of the two of them because it just looked to adorable. Max was laying on the top of Alec almost with his whole body and Alec had his lips slightly open while his eyes were covered by a few hairs. Magnus quietly walked closer to him and he whipped the hairs out of his face before he placed a soft kiss on Alecs forehead. "Sleep well, Sunshine."
