I have a lot of mythological elements in the book. On first glance it points at only Shiva and Parvati story, but there's more to it. Today I will tell you guys a little bit about it.

Rudra and Indumala's story is a parallel drawn to Shiva and Parvati story. That is why Indumala is an ansh(divine part/child) of goddess Kali (Kali is same as Parvati) and Rudra is an ansh of Shiva.

Aryamna's story will have elements of Kemetic mythology and Persian mythology. I have taken elements from it and fused it with other pantheons, giving certain a touch of my own. Amun is the one who is coming from Kemetic mythology, and from Persian mythology we have Ahriman and Angra Mainyu. While many consider these two to be same, I am taking Ahriman and Angra Mainyu to be different entities.

Hamal the Second is referred to as the god Angra Mainyu. Both Aryamna and Hamal the First have relation to Ahriman, while Aryamna is also related to Amun. This is why one might find Aryamna to be similar to Vishnu as well!

Angra Mainyu is the fake Amun. Angra Mainyu and Ahriman are seen as evil, with the former being the eternal evil while the latter is evil by choice.

Then there's Ekapada and Karnonos. Ekapada is a Vedic deity while Karnonos is a proto-celtic deity. Karnonos is a Lord of Nature and Wild Animals, much like Pashupati (who also had relationship to yoga and is seen as a form of Shiva) from Indus valley civilization.

Ekapada is the one-footed goat, thus the goatee boasted by Aryamna.

In the series, Ekapada and Karnonos are synonymous. Also, they are a part of the greater god Amun. Say, if Amun is a sun, then Ekapada is a ray of the same. Amun and Angra Mainyu are children of Kalika, with Angra Mainyu being the firstborn. Ahriman is a ghost twin.

The recurring theme of the horned god, ram head and stag is due to these deities and for the representation of masculinity.

As the story progresses, we will find more deities. Since Amun is there, his wife Mut must be too. Khonsu and Khepri, Geb and Nut, Selene– they are also mentioned. But since we haven't gone to future books yet, let us end this spoiler-less (I tried) guide for now.
