Chapter 5 - Daily Life Day 13 - Free Time Event - Hikari

The Monokuma announcement went off as always. However, Shiori was already awake.

Am I really that used to it by now?

It's only been thirteen days.

...

And yet, in those thirteen days, we've lost nine of our friends...

Shiori gathered herself together and started walking to the dining hall.

Midway through her walk, Kazue ran up to her.

"Meet me tonight at the dining hall before it closes."

She then proceeded to run away.

...What?

Shiori walked into the dining hall after a moment. Everyone was there, but nobody was eating as there was no food.

Usually at this time, breakfast was already prepared by Bunta and everyone was eating.

But Bunta wasn't here anymore, was he?

Tamao waved her over. Shiori sat down next to her.

"Yoshioka isn't here anymore, so nobody has made breakfast yet, huh?" Shiori murmured. Tamao nodded.

Isamu walked to the kitchen, entering.

Shortly after, they could all hear the stove turning on.

"Aw, look, he's gonna take his boyfriend's position!"

"Sonoda-kun, please just shut up!"

"What? Am I wrong, Nishioka-chan?"

Kazue frowned, "Jeez, she's just saying what we're all thinking."

"You talk about getting along and you all gang up on me. What? Is it to boost your little ego?"

Hoizumi rolled his eyes, pulling his hat downwards, "Someone just get duct tape and gag him."

Hikari stood up, "On it."

"Sit back down," Shiori deadpanned, "Nothing good is gonna happen if you do that."

"It'll shut him up! That's pretty good in my book!"

"Takayama."

Hikari grumbled, sitting back down.

Kazue glanced at Tamao and Hikari. The latter two nodded.

I wonder what's going on with them...

Isamu eventually walked out with some scrambled eggs for everyone.

"Thank you, Hamada."

"It's no problem."

Everyone ate their meals in silence.

"Screw this, I'm leaving," Tomoyasu pushed his plate away and walked out.

"He didn't even finish it," Kazue stared at the unfinished plate.

"Eh, what can you do?" Tamao stood up, handing her empty plate to Isamu. She waved goodbye before leaving the dining hall.

Shiori also finished her plate, taking it to the sink in the kitchen and leaving it there for someone, probably Isamu, to wash later.

She walked absentmindedly around the school, running into Hikari outside of the gym.

"Hey Doi."

Do you want to spend your Free Time with Hikari?

Yes
No

Hikari stared at the gym, "This is where we all met for the first time."

Shiori bit her lip, knowing where this was going.

"I met Ahiru and Katsushi..."

"I don't know why but it seemed like there was something pulling me towards them. Like I had known them before or something like that."

"That seems cliche, and a bad foundation for a fanfiction."

"Maybe. Who knows? Maybe I'm making it up. It doesn't really matter anymore. Cause they're both gone, aren't they?"

Shiori pat the taller girl's back.

Hikari rubbed her eyes, "I barely knew Ahiru for four days and it seems like we've already established an entire year of friendship. Katsushi and I just immediately clicked. T-They're both dead now, though, h-huh?-"

"It's okay to cry."

Hikari stopped talking, "....Hypocrite."

Shiori shrugged, "Maybe. Doesn't take away my opinion though."

Hikari smiled, before breaking down right there in the hallway, sliding down the wall into a ball. Shiori sat down next to her and let herself be moral support.

They both had a good talk about the events of the killing game so far and the effects of the deaths.

Hikari and I grew a little closer today.

Shiori walked into her room after that cry session with Hikari, even though it was mostly Hikari crying and Shiori comforting her.

Monokuma appeared suddenly.

"Get out of my room," Shiori immediately glared at the robotic bear.

"Whoa! Feisty, much? Anyways, I'm just here to give you this!" He proceeded to throw a small black item made of cloth at Shiori.

Shiori held it out, examining it.

You've have obtained Hikari's undergarments.

Shiori shrieked and tossed it away.

Did Monokuma steal that from Hikari's room?!

Shiori ran out to the hallway. As she exited her room, she saw Hikari exit her own. They made eye contact, both brightly blushing.

They realized it at the same time, before rushing back into the safety of their rooms.

Shiori groaned, leaning against her door, "Oh god, is this gonna happen with everyone?"

You have maxed out your Free Time with Hikari.

(A/N: aAaAaAaAaA, sorry this took so long! I'm a procrastinator)
