Chapter 1 - Daily Life Day 3 - First Motives

Shiori woke up to the Monokuma announcement.

"Everyone please head to the gym right now."

That can't be good.

She headed over to the gym after taking a shower and changing.

As she walked in, the entire room went quiet.

"Hi Doi-chan!" Tamao waved, smiling brightly.

Katsushi groaned, "How can you be so energetic?! We haven't even had breakfast yet!"

Monokuma popped up from the podium, causing everyone to jump back.

"So, why hasn't anyone killed yet?!" He asked angrily.

"We're all friends!" Chiyo yelled at him, "We wouldn't kill someone just to get out! The police are probably looking for us at this very moment!"

Monokuma snickered, "Well, to speed up the process, I'm giving you your very first motive! How exciting!"

"Motive?" Bunta asked, blinking.

"What does that mean?" Ahiru frowned, glaring at Monokuma.

He pulled out sixteen video tapes from somewhere.

They each had a label with their names on them.

"Take these to the AV room and watch them!"

He then disappeared after dropping the tapes on the ground.

Shiori picked up the tape with her name on it.

"What's an AV room?" Hikari asked, holding up her tape.

"It means Audio Visual room," Mayumi answered.

"Oh! I think I saw it earlier," Daiki mentioned, "It's down the hall! Follow me!"

The group followed Daiki down the hallway into they entered the room.

"So there are sixteen computers here," Hoizumi noticed.

"So we should each take one!" Sadako added.

Shiori took a seat at a computer and inserted her tape into the player next to the computer.

(I'm stealing the first game's motive. Sorry. But I have plans!)

She put on the headphones plugged into the computer.

The screen turned on and started playing a video.

Shiori audibly gasped. The video contained her parents and little brother sitting on a couch that seemed to be inside an office.

She stared as her parents started talking to the camera.

"Shiori, we're so proud you made it to Hope's Peak! The school told us that they would be sending this to you!" Her mom cheered.

"Although, your talent is a bit weird, we're happy that you made it!" Her dad added in.

"Just because you're in a fancy school now, don't go forgetting about me!" Her little brother pointed a finger at the camera, pouting.

Shiori smiled. She really did miss them.

"Such a normal happy family!" Monokuma giggled in the video.

The screen turned to static. When it returned to normal, her family was gone and the room they were in was all torn up.

"What could've possibly happened?" Monokuma asked, fake shock in his tone.

He giggled, "Upupupu, the only way to find out is to graduate!"

The video turned off.

Shiori slowly became aware of her rapid breathing as she stared at the blank screen.

"What?"

There's no way it's true. He's just messing with you. It's not real. He's just trying to get you to kill.

But as more and more people started crying or gasping around the room, she slowly began to doubt her thoughts.

She took off the headphones and took a glance towards everyone.

Some were barely shaken, while others were straight up sobbing.

"N-No, it's not real. It's not real," Tamao whispered rapidly from beside Shiori.

Her voice cracked in the middle of her rambling.

Several people shot up from their seats and left the room. Shiori only noticed Sadako and Chiyo leave the room, but clearly more people had left already.

Shiori took a deep breath.

She still had to get through the day.

All at once, the day passed by, like she had just blinked and it was over.

Shiori didn't even remember what she did or who she hung out with.

As she settled into her bed, she let out a deep sigh.

No one's actually going to murder over this, right?

God, she hoped so.

Sorry I reused a motive! But I have plannssssss! Also you can vote for free time events again.
