Struggle
Two quick things...
One, the illustration above is a picture of a Blood Root flower. It is really poisonous and I advise you guys not to mess with it.
Two, I did not draw the picture. Trust me, I am not that skilled.
Enjoy the chapter!
Emolga's POV:
I can't believe I didn't think of this before! I thought to myself. I was very proud of my plan's success. I couldn't believe I had wasted all that time using attract, black mailing was so much easier.
Sure it is frowned upon by society, but hey! Most good things are. I was ranting to myself about my greatness while looking at Oshawott's scalchop when I realized a huge problem.
"WHERE THE HECK AM I GONNA HIDE THIS THING!" I shouted. I gasped and looked at the sleeping trainers and pokemon, to make sure that I didn't wake them up. I then came back to my problem. I couldn't carry it around, someone would eventually notice and make me give it back to Oshawott. I started to think about how Oshawott carried it around. The Scalchop was literally a part of Oshawott. 'Hmmm,' I thought. 'Maybe I could tuck it into my arm flaps.' I tried to tuck the Scalchop into one of the flaps that I use to glide, but was unsuccessful. I sat down and thought of a new plan.
I grabbed the scalchop and glided over to Iris' bag. After a bit of rummaging, I managed to find my pokeball. My think was that when Oshawott went inside his pokeball, his scalchop went with him. Maybe the same thing would happen with me.
So I touched my pokeball, and gripped the scalchop as a familiar red light surrounded me and transported me into my pokeball. It worked! I looked around my pokeball for a place to put Oshawott's scalchop.
For those who are curious, the inside of a pokeball differs depending on the pokemon that is in there. The temperature, atmosphere, even the gravity, depends on the Pokémon's preference. My pokeball had a grassy field, warm weather, and a huge apple tree in it. Except this was a special apple tree. All I had to do was knock on the trunk and tons of apples would fall out. It was awesome! I went to my apple tree and place the scalchop on one of the branches.
Now that the scalchop was secure, it was time to have some fun.
Snivy's POV:
(At breakfast)
Something was seemed off about Oshawott. He didn't talk to any of the other pokemon that morning. In fact, he seemed kind of, nervous. Almost like he was dreading something.
It pained me to see him like that. I don't really like to see others upset. Sure I act like I don't care, but in the end I don't want people to be sad or hurt inside. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a nagging voice. It was Emolga's voice. What the heck does Emolga want? I thought to myself. I was about to find out.
Oshawott's POV:
I was absolutely terrified thinking about what Emolga might make me do for her. I gulped as I heard her voice from near by.
"Oshawott! Bring your food to me please!" I was about to say no, but then I remembered that Emolga had my scalchop, and she could destroy it whenever she wanted to. I slowly got up and took my food bowl over to Emolga. She gladly excepted it. I sat back down and felt everyone's eyes on me. My face started to heat up so I pretended to be staring at a flower to try to avoid the awkward situation. Unfortunately, Pikachu saw and decided to investigate.
"Oshawott, why did you give Emolga your food?" Pikachu asked me. I couldn't tell him why or else Emolga would smash my scalchop. So I had to lie.
"I am not hungry any more." I felt so bad for lying to Pikachu, but I had no choice.
Pikachu was skeptical, but eventually gave up and walked away.
The same thing happened at lunch and dinner. Emolga forced me to give her my food. I was surprised at how much she ate. Not only did she eat my food, but she also ate her own food along with 30 apples she forced me to get for her.
I was so hungry that night, I couldn't sleep. My stomach was growling so much. I got up and went for a walk, hoping to get my mind off my empty stomach.
Unfortunately, it did the opposite. All of the sudden, the grass looked really good. I thought about it some more, and then put some in my mouth. Honestly, it was way too bitter for my taste. But, I continued to eat the grass and flowers until there was a patch of dirt in the middle of the field where the grass had been.
I still wasn't satisfied, but was too tired to eat any more. At least now my stomach would be a little bit quieter. I went to sleep, miserable from the day I had.
A week later.
I was really hungry. I had tried eating flowers last night, but soon found that they were poisonous. Before I could eat another one, I was vomiting. I really wished that someone would notice my scalchop's absence, so I could eat again. But alas, no one did. I was so weak that it honestly was hard to move. Of course my trainer, Ash, didn't notice though. He decided to train the next day.
Seriously? The time I can barely walk, he decides to put me against Snivy in a battle. It would be hard enough launching attacks because I have feelings for Snivy. But now I had to put not eating for the past few days on top of that. "Oh well," I thought, "at least I have tonight to prepare."
Snivy's POV:
Something definitely wasn't right with Oshawott. He seemed kind of depressed, and looked very weak. Of course, Ash didn't notice. He decided to let me battle Oshawott tomorrow. Which I usually wouldn't have a problem with. But, I was afraid of hurting Oshawott even more than he was hurt then. I had to figure out what was going on.
I took a walk to ponder over the situation. I was snapped from my thoughts when I stepped in something wet. I looked down and was surprised at what I had stepped in. It was vomit. Well, more like the kind of bile you would throw up if you didn't have anything in your stomach. I will spare the details of the substances appearance, but I will say that it had pieces of the poisonous Blood root. For those that don't know, Blood Root is a poisonous flower. If ingested, it can cause vomiting, weakness, and other unpleasant things.
But, who would eat a flower? It would be someone that was so hungry that he would eat flowers. That someone would probably be weak after eating the flower. One person, or should I say pokemon, came to mind. Oshawott. I had to find out if he was the one eating flowers. I decided that I would stay awake all night, and see who is eating flowers. One thing was certain, if it was Oshawott, I swore to Arceus that I was going to find out why and stop the issue.
