"So Taehyung... Jeongguk tells us that you're a journalist."
The brunet looked up from his plate. "Yes I am." He smiled at Mr Jeon who asked the question. Before the older man could respond to the brunet's answer, his wife piped up from beside him.
"Oh so you read the news then? Do you get to be on TV?"
"Well, no. I haven't worked there that long so I basically just do research, interview people and write reports." He wasn't stuttering but under the table, he had his right hand in a fist on his thigh, suppressing his nervousness.
But his body soon visibly relaxed as a hand came over his fist, immediately loosening it. He turned to Jeongguk next to him, who passed him a quick comforting smile.
The four of them sat in pairs across each other around the huge rectangular dining table. In between them, a huge feast had been laid out on top of a white tablecloth. Not even a single dish was Korean- or Asian as a matter of fact. Everything was rather Western, ranging from a perfectly roasted chicken to the bowl of salad that looked almost too pretty to eat with its variety of colorful vegetables. Near each of their plates sat a glass of red wine.
Would it be embarrassing that Taehyung still haven't favored alcohol yet? He was almost twenty-four now (he's currently 23) and hated bitter drinks more than anything.
"Don't worry honey," Jeongguk's mother smiled as she dabbed a napkin over her burgundy-colored lips. "You'll get there soon enough. By the way, what kind of research do you do?"
The brunet was still trying to get used to the woman's gentle tone as he sat up a bit straighter in his seat. "Well..." He thought about the last interview he did. "I interviewed this animal pound owner last week. She was finding homes for some newborn puppies that had been abandoned. She got a lot of publicity after that. Stuff like that..."
"Oh... puppies you say," Mrs Jeon nodded with a playful look in her eyes as she directed her gaze to her own son. It looked like she was still stuck on the puppies, disregarding the rest of Taehyung's story. Then, "Why don't you boys get a puppy together?"
Out of nowhere?
"A puppy?" The brunet furrowed his brows.
"Didn't Jeongguk tell you?" The woman continued.
By now the said raven-head was shaking his head at his mother, signalling for her to not say whatever it is that she was about to say.
"Mom, no..."
"When our Jeongguk-ie was a little boy, he begged us for a puppy but we said no. And he wouldn't stop crying for an entire week, even refused to eat, go to school or sleep. Quite a tantrum he threw." She finished with a smirk to her son, who was facing down at the moment, cheeks turning into a light pink blush.
"Yeah but then we bought him that toy car instead and he finally stopped crying." Mr Jeon added.
Taehyung couldn't stop smiling at this. He squeezed the younger's hand once as their hands were still intertwined under the table. He could just imagine a little Jeongguk looking all sad with his cute cheeks and big shiny eyes with a pout. So very adorable.
The rest of dinner went by smoothly.
The brunet felt a little stupid now for worrying so much. His boyfriend's parents were just so nice to him. As they talked more and more, he got more comfortable around them. It was great but the best part of all was seeing the smile on the younger's face. This was what Jeongguk wanted; for his parents to get along with the person he loves.
When Mrs Jeon had announced that dessert would take a while to be prepared, the raven-head offered to show Taehyung around the mansion. So they were now walking through the hallway on the second floor. Hand in hand, Jeongguk led his hyung in a certain direction, still familiar with the place he grew up in.
"You're not nervous anymore right?" The younger casually asked.
Taehyung shook his head with a smile. "No. Your parents are great people. They're so nice to me." He chuckled. "I was really worried for nothing, huh."
"See I told you- oh in here!" Jeongguk excitedly pulled the older towards a door.
They entered into that room. As soon as the raven-head closed the door behind them, he switched on the lights. Instantly, the once pitch black room illuminated displaying a neat bedroom before them.
The brunet took in everything, from the way the grey sheets on the bed had no wrinkles on it to the jacket hanging off the back of the chair at the study desk. He noticed a bunch of CDs stacked on the ground next to a basketball and a bunch of posters hung up on the wall. It really looked like an ordinary boy's room but something about it just screamed Jeongguk's name.
"Am I really in your room right now?" The older playfully asked as he detached his hand from the other and went to explore the place.
He heard the raven-head chuckle behind him. "Yeah but I think my mom cleaned up a bit in here."
Taehyung stood near the bed, his hand running over the soft fabric of the duvet as he looked at the picture frames that crowded the nightstand next to it. He wasn't surprised to see a picture of Jeongguk and Hoseok together. Which reminded him-
'We should really go see Hoseok, we haven't seen him since we got back here."
Jeongguk approached the older from the back humming in agreement. "Yeah, you're right. I'll give him a call soon."
A smile sat on Taehyung's lips as he looked at the little knick-knacks arranged next to the frames when a folded paper caught his attention. He wouldn't have given it any attention but the paper looked really familiar. Before he could stop himself, his hand was already reaching out to it.
He unfolded the paper and a very familiar newspaper page greeted him back.
"What?" He asked, mostly to himself as his eyes scanned over an article that he wrote ages ago; an article for the university's newspaper about a certain raven-head wining a cooking competition.
The brunet turned to Jeongguk who was already gazing in his direction, glancing back and forth from him to the paper he held. "Oh, you found that..." The younger grinned nervously as he came to stand right next to his hyung.
"Namjoon gave me a copy of the school's newspaper saying there was an article written about me." He explained now also looking down at the said paper.
"You kept it all this time?"
A little smile made its way to Jeongguk's lips. "After I found out that you wrote this article, I just kept it with me."
"Why?" The older turned his head to face his boyfriend next to him.
"It was just after a week since we met at the coffee shop and I..." The raven-head hesitated a little before lifting his head from the paper to look at his hyung. "...I got to know you a little. And before I knew it, I was reaching for this article all the time just to read what you wrote about me over and over again."
A small sigh left him. "I realized that when I couldn't stop reading this, I definitely had this little crush on you." He lastly added, making Taehyung's eyes widen a little.
Jeongguk had a crush on me even back then? Oh my, why is that so cute...
The older chose not to say anything to that. Finding out about the younger's crush on him was already enough to awaken the butterflies in his stomach. He looked at the paper in his hands, folding it back to the way it was.
Suddenly, two arms wrapped themselves around his waist from behind. His back was pressed against a firm chest with a chin resting atop his right shoulder.
"I'm so happy hyung." His boyfriend's honey-like voice whispered into his ear.
Taehyung hummed in response, leaning back.
The younger continued, "Everything is finally right now and I have you in my life. That's all I want..." His voice trailed off as his lips met the skin on the side of the other's neck.
Slowly, the older's eyes fluttered shut, his hand blindly reaching forward to put the paper back onto the nightstand. He was sure he missed and the folded paper fell to the ground but there were more important things that required his attention at the moment.
Like Jeongguk's lips now moving along his jawline.
A deep throaty sigh erupted from Taehyung as he focused on each of the gentle kisses his boyfriend littered all over his skin. "Jeongguk..." He lightly called out.
He then felt a familiar impatient sensation course through him, making his hands itch.
The brunet had realized that nowadays his self-control had literally deteriorated to just about nothing whenever he'd get intimate with Jeongguk. There were several occasions where he pinned the raven-head down against the bed, pulling off the other's shirt in such haste to prove it.
Maybe it's because he'd gotten a lot braver?
Or was he just horny all the time now?
He hoped it was the first one.
Although right now, Taehyung had already turned around in the other's arms and connected their lips together. His hands rested on the younger's chest, feeling the hardness of his well-built body beneath his suit.
When Jeongguk darted his tongue into the brunet's mouth, he instantly gripped fistfuls of the fabric of the raven-head's blazer beneath his hands. A muffled moan melted into their kiss when the older felt his ass being squeezed.
A dazed Taehyung was left slightly panting and disappointed when the warm lips left his. He opened his blurry eyes to see the other looking around the room before finally settling his gaze back on his hyung.
"What?" The older breathed out.
"I almost forgot that this is your first time being in my room," He smirked. "We've done all sorts of things in your room, maybe we should do something in here too?"
"But... we're already kissing."
Jeongguk rolled his eyes and abruptly pulled Taehyung closer, making the tips of their noses touch. "I'm not talking about kissing..."
Oh.
"Oh." Taehyung's ears were as red as tomatoes now. He had no idea what they were going to do but his body tingled with anticipation. Still- "Your parents are downstairs."
A few silent seconds passed before the raven-head sighed. "I guess you're right. It's a shame though, I already had so much in mind..." His voice got lower as he ran the tip of his nose over his hyung's cheek with his eyes closed.
"Like what?" Taehyung found himself asking as he closed his eyes too, his voice also very low like they were in a library right now.
"Do you really want to know?"
"Hmm... yes." The curiosity was killing him.
"Well-"
The sudden groaning of the bedroom door being opened ajar pulled them out of their little world. Taehyung was rubbing his slightly watery eyes, turning around to fix his tie while Jeongguk ran hand through his hair, licking his shiny lips.
A head poked into the room. Mrs Jeon smiled widely, not really realizing how disheveled the two of them looked.
"Dessert's ready!" She beamed but then narrowed her sharp eyes. "Was I interrupting anythin-"
"No!" Jeongguk and Taehyung both simultaneously replied (almost a little too fast) before she could finish her sentence.
"Okay then. I'll see you boys downstairs."
With that, she finally left.
Taehyung and Jeongguk locked gazes before sharing a short laugh together. That was really close.
"We should head down." The raven-head gestured towards the door.
The older nodded and soon they were already leaving the room. Besides feeling thankful that his boyfriend's mother didn't see them doing anything, Taehyung still couldn't help wonder what was the other going to say if they hadn't been interrupted.
Well, there's no harm in asking right?
So he reached a hand out to the younger's elbow to get his attention as they were now passing through the upstairs hallway.
"Yeah?"
"What were you going to say back in there?" He tried to ask casually as possible.
Jeongguk narrowed his onyx eyes for a moment like he was figuring out what Taehyung meant before he finally understood. Immediately, a smirk comfortably sat on his lips.
"Well, we'll just have to come here again for you to find out."
