Thirty-two

Taehyung honestly didn't help all that much with setting up for the party- well, if you count unwrapping plastic cups from their packaging and arranging them on the table as help, then sure... he 'helped'.

He got the chance to witness all the different costumes the guests showed up in. The guys didn't put much effort into dressing up compared to the girls who showed up in a variety of well-executed slutty nurses, slutty police officers, slutty school teachers. Was there an unspoken theme going on around here that he didn't know about?

Of course, he didn't bother to dress up as anyone. Just the thought of picking a costume and then all the effort needed to put it together physically exhausted him. Plus, he was sure Jeongguk wasn't going to dress up too so hey, in a way they'd be matching together... as normal humans.

That has to count right?

Around nine-ish, the apartment had escalated into a bass-booming-police-interfering-event-that-will-sure-as-hell-piss-off-the-neighbors type of party. Taehyung already knew he wasn't going to enjoy any of it so he had spent a good amount of his night locked up in Jimin's bathroom, sitting up on the counter with his phone in hand.

But his plan started to fall apart miserably when the knocks on the bathroom door got more frequent because apparently, the party guests needed to pee every now and then from all the booze they were carelessly consuming.

On another note, he had surprisingly run into Ki-woo from work. Jimin had mentioned something about inviting some of the people from Taehyung's office just so that they wouldn't think that he was a complete loser with absolutely no social life (yeah, Jimin meant that in the nicest way possible). Even outside of work, Taehyung's encounter with his short co-worker was weird as hell. So that basically took care of the awkward part of his night then.

However things did turn around when Jeongguk and Jin finally arrived at around nine thirty. Soon, he was all snuggled up with his boyfriend on the living room couch which no one really occupied as they were either busy dancing, refilling their empty solo cups or making sexual advances towards people way out of their league. It was the typical party scene.

Luckily, Jin and Yoongi were also there with them as they casually talked, having to yell every now and then with the loud music engulfing their words when they spoke too softly. Apart from all that, it was nice to just lounge there against Jeongguk who Taehyung had noticed seemed very relaxed tonight. He could just look at Jeongguk and know somehow that the man wasn't for once stressing about anything; work and all that other crap.

Jeongguk had one hand slung around Taehyung's back while the other held a beer bottle. Every now and then, he'd run his nose along the side of the other's neck up to his ear to whisper something that had the older giggling delightfully. With the music in the background, the aesthetic of the moment put both of them in a rather ecstasy-like high (without the actual drug).

On the other side of the couch, Jin and Yoongi both had beer bottles occupied in one of their hands too which truthfully had Taehyung feeling out of place a little. Though luckily Jimin had ordered a crate of those fizzy sodas that came in glass bottles mimicking the alcoholic beverage so Taehyung was indulging in one of those- he chose the apple-flavored soda.

At one point, Taehyung turned his body slightly so that he could face Jeongguk behind him. Honestly, he just wanted to look at his boyfriend. That's all. Under the darkness with the strobing lights making an appearance every now and then, Jeongguk looked even more hotter than usual. He had his lazy smirk on, slightly disheveled hair and those dark orbs of his that seemed to be piercing right into Taehyung's very soul.

"What is it?" Jeongguk asked lowly.

Taehyung shook his head with an erasable smile on his lips. "You look really good tonight." He mumbled, trying to push aside how he had originally described the other in his head.

"Oh yeah?" Jeongguk smirked wider, inching his face closer to his hyung while Taehyung's heart started its marathon. "I think you look better though." He flirted and had his free hand running up and down Taehyung's back.

It was all very nice and the mood was there; the mood that indicated it was time for Taehyung to climb on top of Jeongguk's lap and kiss the life out of him. It used to bother him to do things like this in public but he had gotten a lot braver these days. Plus, they were at a party and it was dark. Also, surely Jin and Yoongi had their own partners to attend to right now so it was all good.

It was NOT actually all good.

Because right then, before Taehyung and Jeongguk could've engaged into anything, a loud voice rising above the music made all four of them turn in a certain direction.

"Kim Taehyung!" Jimin was standing there with his hands resting on either sides of his hips, enraged in his Halloween costume. He was dressed up as a pilot. It probably had something to do with how he'd been saying that he was the host of the party so he had to show people that he was the captain.

But anyway, back to the current situation. An annoyed Taehyung sighed at his best friend. "What?"

"Why aren't you wearing the costume I laid out for you?"

A groan left the other. "Not this again."

"What's going on?" Jin asked from where he was, glancing back from Jimin to Taehyung.

"We made a deal that I get to dress him up in anything I want for Halloween and he's going back on his word." Jimin huffed out.

Out of the four men there, only three started chuckling while Taehyung frowned, getting up to sit straighter from the lounging position that he was previously in. "We made that deal a long time ago. Come on, let's just forget about it."

Earlier this month, Taehyung had forgotten Jimin's birthday. Well he didn't completely forget about it. He knew there was something going on that day, it just took him a while to realize it was his best friend's birthday. And Jimin even forgave him but with the condition that he got to dress Taehyung up for Halloween. At that time, Taehyung would've said yes to anything because he didn't think the other was going to follow through with the plan.

Clearly, he had been so wrong about that.

"You forgot my birthday Tae!"

Taehyung rolled his eyes. "I only forgot it for like, that morning. I eventually remembered and wished you, didn't I."

Jimin snorted. "Yeah only after Jeongguk reminded you."

Ugh! Taehyung groaned again. It looked like he wasn't going to win this time.

"Come on, let's get you in your costume." Jimin devilishly smirked, reaching out to pull the other off the couch. Before being dragged away, Taehyung turned around with wide eyes at the three other people there.

"Are you guys not gonna say anything?!" He especially looked at Jeongguk, praying his boyfriend would acknowledge his silent cry for help.

But no, instead he got a:

"Yeah, remind me to never make a deal with Jimin."

Then the others started laughing along with him. Taehyung scowled at Jeongguk for that before he was completely dragged away through the crowd of people into the hallway leading to the bedrooms.

Two hours passed after that with Jimin doing his level best in giving Taehyung a makeover. Seriously, Taehyung wanted to point out that he'd never seen the other work harder in studying for a test compared to this. It was around eleven when Jimin was finally done with his supposed 'masterpiece'.

Just to go over what exactly Jimin had done to Taehyung; it started with a trip to the bathroom to dye his hair black. Like really, Taehyung was literally knelt in front of the bathtub while the other soaked his scalp with some type of chemical to which he rinsed off with water roughly after twenty minutes. He didn't know why he just let Jimin do this to him so maybe a part of him actually looked forward to this makeover.

When they got back to the bedroom, Taehyung was instructed to put on the costume that was laid out on the bed. Every piece of clothing on there was pitch black starting from a pair of black lace boots, tight black leather pants, the equally black tank top, a fur-coat that reached down to his waist, a black choker, a pair of black diamond earrings and this all was just his attire... we haven't even scratched the surface of his make-up yet.

Smoky black eyeshadow dusted over his eyelids, right below his darkened eyebrows. Jimin didn't even bother to be subtle with the eyeliner, giving him cat eyes. When it came to the matter of his lips, the two best friends spent approximately four and a half minutes arguing over the lipstick that Jimin wanted to put on the other.

Taehyung actually screamed, "I will scratch you right now if you put that thing on me!" So eventually Jimin gave up and smeared some plain lip-balm over his lips instead.

Finally Jimin then allowed Taehyung to take a look at his reflection and he nearly fell backwards at how different he looked. Jimin came up from behind him holding something in his hand. He made Taehyung turn to face him and reached up place something delicately over his friend's black freshly curled hair. As soon as Taehyung turned back to the mirror, his eyes grew big.

"Cat ears?"

Only then did he realize the theme Jimin was going for here after looking himself up and down the length of his reflection. There was a lot of black, some fur, also a touch of some cat features-

"Oh yeah before we go out, there's something I should probably tell you." Jimin smirked with his arms crossed over his chest.

Taehyung looked back at him with a terrified expression on, awaiting his words. And then the last thing he expected to hear reached his ears.

"Jeongguk has a thing for Catwoman."
