The night wore on as guests take their seat for the ceremony to approach. Sakura and Ino were running about setting up the contraption Himawari would be working to let loose the flowers to coat the the entire dome in various flower petals. They were the petals of the flowers Shikamaru used to propose. In the dressing room tents each member of the Uzumaki-Nara family was getting ready in their various kimonos all feeling some type of nervousness. 

Boruto abandoned his tent to sneak into his mother's for a last minute comfort moment. Naruto was surprised to see him but welcomed him all the same. "You know you and Shikadai are the ones walking me down the aisle shouldn't you be dressed?" Boruto puffed up his cheeks and hugged him around the waist.

"I know but I'm still worried about you marrying." He confessed. Then he felt something thump against his ear. His eyes widened as he listened to the steady beat of a heart. It wasn't his mother's so that means. He looked up to see Naruto smiling, his face was flushed and he scratched his cheek out of habit. "Your..." He trailed off when Naruto nodded in confirmation.

"Don't tell the others, it's a part of my vows." Naruto winked.

"That assures me now," Boruto smiled softly. Naruto quirked an eyebrow, Boruto shook his head and ran out back to his tent. Naruto was left in brief confusion before smiling either way. If Boruto was still troubled he would come to him or Shikamaru, with that settled he hurried into his kimono.

Himawari ruffled her layers a bit as the area calmed down for the commencing of the wedding. She had a simple roll of the flower girl. But knowing her Papa it wouldn't be simple as walking down the aisle throwing flowers along the way, now she had to pray her aiming practice paid off. She huffed and shoved the nervousness out of her heart and began her walk.

She felt eyes on her and smiled at the proud look Aunt Sakura had on her face and the sweet smile Lady Ino was throwing her way. When she reached the end of the aisle she saw her Father giving her an encouraging smile and with that boost she pulled out seven senbon needles.

The startled gasp of the guests made her smile as she targeted the the cream colored balloons mixed in with the lanterns above. 'Here I go,' She aimed and launched her assault, distinct pops could be heard and it wasn't long until the guest were under a gentle shower of flowers. Himawari bowed and took her place as the ring bearer as well. The guests clapped the girl and turned to see the expectant groom and his sons. 

Boruto and Shikadai were the first ones at the end of the pathway. They looked cool, calm and collected and their kimonos were beautiful. This time Sakura couldn't keep her squeal in. 

They smiled in unison and that made the girls swoon. But the jaws dropped when Naruto stepped into view taking a hand from each of his sons. Naruto was smiling that it glowed brighter than the lights they had used to illuminate the ceremony.

They began walking to the alter were their father stood staring at his soon to be husband. 'It's really happening, I'm marrying Naruto.' He felt a jolt of energy and he almost jumped out of his skin. He felt like bouncing all over the place and it took a lot to keep himself rooted. Not much could be said about Naruto, you could practically see him vibrating. 

Naruto had to drink in the sight of Shikamaru now because he knew one the ceremony was over he would be shedding those layers for something more comfortable. But he looked so handsome like those feudal era samurais.

He looked down and made a mental note to thank Konohamaru for lighting the pathway and the over head with lanterns, everyone was so busy with other things and couldn't be here at the time.

When he reached the end of the aisle Shikamaru took his hand and led him to stand across from him. Naruto could see the subtle nervousness in his slightly trembling hands and squeezed in reassurance. Shikamaru smiled at him and Kakashi took his place as priest.

"Well it's been a long time coming." He started off, everyone chuckled in agreement. "I knew this was in the works since I drafted your divorce papers. Now that the shrewds are gone we can finally make way for this happy couple."

"Kakashi-sensei." Naruto whined. Shikamaru laughed a bit.

"No it's my turn to speak, I've watched you grow from a prankster to Hokage, saw you married off and fathering two children. I thought all was well, so imagine my surprise to be drafting divorce papers. I was bitter, angry I was thinking Naruto has already suffered enough why does this need to come along. But imagine my surprise when I drafted Shikamaru's as well. I knew it wouldn't take long for this day to come, I'm glad that I'm not late." Chuckles rang around.

"I'm proud to be here and if Shikamaru ever hurts you just expect him to be decapitated. Shikamaru if Naruto hurts you just expect him to come back after being wacked on the head."

"I like how I end up dead and Naruto gets off without any trouble." Shikamaru grumbled.

"I'm getting hit Shikamaru, of course it's not scotch free." Naruto complained.

"But you live, plus you get hit all the time." Shikamaru defended, Naruto pouted and turned his head in stubbornness.

"Already settling into the old married couple roles." Sakura cat called. Naruto blushed and stuck his tongue out at her.

"Shikamaru I haven't been alongside you to see you grow but Asuma my bestfriend would always sing his praises. Your maturity will be greatly needed when dealing with Naruto, even though he's found himself in the Hokage chair he's still a goof."

"Why does it feel like your roasting me." Naruto murmured.

"Maa, maa I'm teasing." Kakashi laughed. He turned to Shikamaru with a endearing look. "Asuma would be proud of you Shikamaru and I'm happy to turn over the reigns named Naruto to you." 

A sudden cry rang out and they turned to the source. TenTen was leaning over a crib shushing baby Haruto. Naruto raised a hand and stepped off the alter and headed over the crib. TenTen was surprised to see him there. "I'm sorry, Shikaru twisted in her sleep and her foot caught his face." Naruto nodded and took Haruto out of the crib. Sending a small wave of chakra to the baby, Haruto hiccupped and snuggled into his mother's kimono.

Naruto smiled and headed back to the alter with baby in hands. "Now your vows, Shikamaru your up first." Kakashi gave a eye smile.

"Naruto I've known you since we were kids and even as young as we were I knew you'd be something special. We've grown together and at times we bashed heads but I always felt a small part of me love you because you're you. You took life by the balls and flung every assumed thought of what you were suppose to be back into the faces of everyone who dared to say them to you. It was great watching you grown into the person you are now and I'm proud to say I have you for the rest of our life." Shikamaru said passionately.

"Shikamaru." Naruto teared up.

"Now when I see you cuddling our child I can't wait to see it more of that as we grow older together. I love you Naruto and I love everything you are and everything you stand for. We've created the perfect family with you as the matriarch and I couldn't ask for anything else. You saw Shikadai's problem and solved it by just being you and taking time out to listen to him when I wasn't there and if that's not enough to fall for you more I don't know what is."

"Now for you Naruto." Kakashi smiled at the sincere smile Shikamaru wore throughout all of this.

"I feel sorry for you." Naruto said bluntly as he broke out in a grin. "I hope you know what your in for, a brash Uzumaki along with his kits from a former union. I have no intentions of letting you go and if I become overbearing then it's your job as my husband to endure it like you have as my bestfriend ever since we were kids. I love you Shikamaru and I honestly don't know what I would do if something ever happens to you. You saved me from a dark depression before it even had a chance to settle in. You accepted Boruto and Himawari on a different level than you did before and took on the role of father before you even realized. I love you and though I might not be really good with words right now because I'm trying not to break down in cries of joy just know you mean a lot to me. I'm proud to say that you're the father for our 6 children." 

Shikamaru gaped as the guests break out in approval. "Y-Your-"

"Yes I'm pregnant!" Naruto squealed, Boruto broke out in a knowing grin. Himawari jumped in spot and nearly lost her grip on the pillow with the rings. Shikadai smiled to himself and naturally slouched like his father.

"Looks like Naruto is out doing the women. And holding down a full time job." Sasuke smirked to himself. Shikamaru couldn't help himself as he swung Naruto around in his arms. Squeals of laughter poured from his lips and Haruto gurgled with a toothy grin. Shikamaru landed Naruto back on his feet. 

"I'm having another kid!" Shikamaru laughed at the absurdity, then he was brought back to the time Naruto snapped his wrist. 'Kami-sama.'

"Now with vows out of the way it's time for the tattoo unveiling." Kakashi took Haruto from Naruto's grasp. Boruto and Shikadai brought forward stools. Naruto and Shikamaru sat on them with their backs to the audience.  "This was chosen by each partner to give a representation of what your partner means to you."

The couple started to loosen their kimonos and pulled them off revealing the creation of love sprawled on their backs. The gasps could be heard before Gaara said in an unnaturally loud tone. "Fuck their beautiful."

"Now I'm even more curious as to what you had placed on my back." Naruto brimmed, Shikamaru looked over at him with tenderness. 

"It's the only thing that came close to what you mean to me." Naruto blushed and looked down clenching his kimono.

"Same for you, I hope you like it." Naruto smiled.

Lee brought a nice sized mirror to give the couple a first glance at what will be apart of them for eternity.

Shikamaru gawked at the tattoo Naruto gave him, he turned to the blond who was having a similar reaction towards his gift.

"It's so beautiful." Naruto choked up.

"I chose this for you because your a fucking angel and every time the sun hits you, your hair becomes the halo." Shikamaru breathed. "Your the very light guiding me to do things that go beyond what people expect me to do. And I'm grateful for it, this is my way of expressing that. you grant me freedom from things I didn't even know was shackling me down." 

"I chose this because your the one who's always got my back. You always stood in the shadows guarding me faithfully, covering my blind spots while I shined without a care and that makes you my yin and I'm your yang. One cannot exist without the other. Push and Pull, Life and Death. The connection bringing balance to each other." Naruto smiled as he took his hand.

"May we have the rings please?" Kakashi turned to Himawari who was readily by his side. "These rings are another representation of the choice you both have made to remain by each other's side. Himawari."

She stepped forward and offered the pillow to her parents. Shikamaru and Naruto picked up the respective rings and placed them on each other. Naruto was turning red at this point and it took all of Shikamaru not to plant him on the ground in raw pleasure.

"With this I now pronounce you husband and husband. Enjoy your lives together." Kakashi barely got the words out before Naruto jumped Shikamaru in a kiss. Their friends jumped on them and clapped their backs as praises rang out but it was all in the distance for the newly weds.

They were immersed in each other as they solidify that they are married. They have agreed in mutual happiness to stay together faithfully for as long as they lived. And it was with that thought that the remnants of pain or lingering felt for their previous marriages fell way to open the door of happiness that was to ensue. They pulled back smiling and Naruto was in his husband's lap and it felt damn pleasing to call Shikamaru his husband. Shikamaru was in a similar situation as he looked up at Naruto.

"Hey husband." Shikamaru cooed. 

"Hi," Naruto smiled and kissed him again.

"Save it we have a reception to go to." Boruto called as he hugged the two.

Laughs echoed as they moved onto the next dome for the night.
