The two fourteen year old boys stood outside nervously waiting for the go ahead to visit their mother, the ten year old daughter rocked on her feet and played with the tie on her kimono. The two year old twins were clinging to their father's legs as they waited to see Mama. Naruto wasn't one to get sick, hell Kurama healed anything that was abnormal in Naruto' body but pieces of flesh floating in his bloodstream was a delicate manner and Kurama was anything but delicate. The new baby was cleaned by a nurse and brought to the family. They hadn't even gotten a chance to name him and as sad as it might be he wouldn't be named until Naruto woke up.

Deep inside his mind Naruto was having a quiet talk with Kurama about the traits of his new son.

"So my son has the same traits as me when I was still in my mother's womb." Naruto summed up in a sentence.

"Yes, when you were conceived you pulled on my chakra absorbing bits that ultimately gave you your whisker marks. He pulled and it resulted in his claw marks. I'm sorry Naruto." Kurama apologized. Naruto slapped his nose.

"It's not your fault or my son's fault, it just shows that his chakra is compatible to yours." He smiled. "Just like how we're compatible." Kurama shook his head at his tamer.

"Say Kurama do you want to roam free after I die." Naruto said looking out at the wide lake in the mind scape. Kurama scoffed.

"No thank you I've already stretched my legs during the war,"

"But after I die would you want to be sealed again?" Naruto pressed.

"Yes I would, but only with someone from your DNA." Kurama stated. "After all your all the only humans I'm willing to protect."

"So my new born son, would you take him as your tamer when he gets older or when I die." Naruto looked at his giant kitsune with hope.

"I would be honored Naruto but that decision belongs to him." Kurama said, Naruto smiled.

"As long as you like him I have no qualms with him making the decision. Plus if he's anything like me when I got to know you I'm sure he will be happy with the decision." Naruto grinned and jumped on Kurama's head to snuggle up. 

"Ne Kurama, how about we do this evenly." The blond hummed.

"What do you mean." Kurama asked confused.

"Well I'm having kids and I want them to get the experience I have with you so would you mind giving them a kit each? Like a familiar of sorts? Think of it as like a way to pass on a tradition. Mito and Mom were not the nicest to you but then I came along. So it's like a Uzumaki trade to have a fox counterpart."  Naruto said as he felt sleepy.

"I'll think about it kit." Kurama said closing his eyes. 

"Thanks Kura." Naruto muttered into his fur.

Naruto woke up to an incessant beeping with was going at a steady rate. It annoyed him to no end so he tugged at whatever was making the noise and sighed in relief as it stopped for a moment before a long drawn out beep was heard. That queued in a lot of foot sounds and screaming. Naruto clutched his ears as the room filled up with family and doctor staff alike. 

"Can you shut the machine off and can you be quiet? My ears are ringing." Naruto groaned, both requests were followed and Naruto fell back into bed with a heavy sigh.

"How do feel Naruto? You had your family quite worried." Sakura said running a healing hand over him. 

"I feel alright, a little winded I guess but I feel fine." Naruto murmured.

"Well your body is not fine, you have to stay over night so we can finish filtering out the pieces of flesh in your blood." She said calmly, Naruto nodded and they left except his family. 

"I'm not gonna die so come on I know your all still babies so climb on." Naruto encouraged. They were careful not to jostle the hand that had multiple tubes injected. Himawari was closest to that hand and carefully flopped herself onto his tummy. Boruto and Shikadai were on either side of his feet and the twins tumbled around on his chest. Shikamaru sat by his side holding their new addition.

"Did you name him?" Naruto asked as he raised a hand to caress the mop of blond and black hair.

"No we wanted you here for that," Shikamaru said in a choked voice. Naruto gave him a weird look and he saw that the others were shaking. "Do you know how scared we were,  do you know how frightening it was to watch you shake on that bed. To know that your bleeding out in the worse way possible." Shikamaru broke down into tears. 

"Papa I was so scared, so many doctors." Hima murmured into his stomach, Naruto could feel the tears and he wanted to move his hand to pet her hair but it was filtering his blood and the other one was caressing Shikaru's head who was sobbing in his neck. Haruto was on the other end doing the same.

"I want to caress your head but my arm is preoccupied." Naruto said. "Maybe if I shift it a bit-"

"No!" Rang through the entire room in unison. Naruto froze all movement. 

"Stupid Mom, don't move that arm, please don't." Boruto cried, Naruto was still not use to his son being so open about his emotions. At one point the little booger would swear and curse that he didn't like him. Now Boruto didn't want to lose him.

A pressure in his thigh made him avert his eyes to the silent crier in the room. Shikadai was staring out away from him but his hand was clenching down on is thigh. He was concerned about that empty look on his face. "Shikadai look at me." He said softly so he wouldn't startle him. Shikadai seem to register his voice because he turned to him.

"Just checking that your still warm." He said in an empty voice. Naruto teared up. 

"Shikadai I'm here I'm not leaving you." Naruto choked out. He was brought back to the time when he was first pregnant and Shikadai came in the bathroom for a talk. How he asked for Naruto not to abandon him. "I would never leave."

"Please don't leave, you can't leave." Shikadai laid on top of his sister who was sniffling in their Mother's stomach. Boruto joined the pile and they laid in silence. Shikamaru stayed by Naruto's head ruffling it softly.

Despite them crying Naruto felt warm, he never knew that family could keep you so warm. He sighed and closed his eyes, he nearly fell asleep when a soft giggle dragged him out, he looked back at his unnamed son and pouted. "What should we name you little one?" Naruto said in s drowsy tone as he shook off the sleep that was so close to hugging him.

The baby gurgled again and reached for him. Naruto cooed and the baby grabbed his outstretched finger. Shikamaru smiled at the scene and was caught off guard when the baby reached for his hand that was in Naruto's hair. "Want to be named by both of us?" Shikamaru teased when the baby had both of his parent's fingers in his grasp. Said baby gurgled in agreement. 

Naruto found this too adorable but he had a name in mind. It was the name the girls dubbed them when they first got together it was a nice mixed of their names and he found it cute. "How about Shikanaru?" Shikamaru chuckled a bit.

"You want our son to be named our ship name?" He said smiling.

"Come on Shika~" Naruto cooed. "Even you have to admit our ship name is amazing."

"It is Naru~ but are you sure, the fangirls might choke him to death when they find out about his name." Shikamaru said shivering at the thought of Ino and Sakura hugging the baby senseless.

"Don't worry they won't kill him." Naruto smiled.

"Well your mother has spoken Shikanaru do you like your name?" Shikamaru asked as the newly dubbed Shikanaru smiled a toothless grin. "Your damn cute you know that."

"All of them are, don't go picking favorites." Naruto slapped him lightly. Shikamaru kissed his forehead. Naruto blushed.

"At least put it on my lips." Shikamaru obliged, Naruto smiled. 

"Naruto," Shikamaru murmured against his lips, Naruto hummed in response. "This is our last kid." Naruto whined in response but Shikamaru wasn't budging. "Nope now shut up and kiss me back." Naruto sighed and kissed him.

'I wanna sleep can't you both shut up' Boruto thought as he shifted a bit on his brother's back. 'We all know mom isn't going to accept that Dad. We know this.'

A/N- When Shikamaru and Naruto first got together Boruto and Shikadai were 12, Himawari was 8 and the twins just shot out the womb. Then in two years they got married which would make them the current age up top. Just a little foot note for the ones who might be confused.
