The reception dome was as beautiful as the ceremony one. The same lighting features was available but this time fairy lights came into play around the dinning table. 

The table was the center piece for the guests and the banquet of food was laid out in a semicircle around it. Shikamaru and Naruto had a table for themselves in front of their friends.

Naruto had busted his ass on the decorations and presentation of the wedding and it really showed in every detail down to the glasses he used. They gave a beautiful glow under the lights.

All around laughter could be heard as child and adult alike gathered around to see the unveiling of the cake. Naruto was extremely nervous for everyone to critic his work, only his kits encouragement kept him from ducking from everyone. Who knew cake hungry monsters would be great motivation.

"Alright let's get started." Naruto and Shikamaru carefully held the coverage that was shielding the cakes from view and what came into sight was a spectacular array of beauty.

"Amazing!" Ino screamed as she nearly lunged from her seat. "Naruto you have a talent like no other, not even my wedding cake came close to any of those." 

"Thanks Ino," Naruto smiled and brought out the knife. "Who wants to cut with us,"

"I call dibs on the gold and black one." Sakura yelled, TenTen nodded along with her. Next ensued was a war to cut their favorite cake with the couple.

Shikamaru brought the twins over who were looking so cute in their baby kimonos. "I think Shikaru and Haruto need to do something so they can cut with us."

"Agreed and it's my first time seeing Shikaru so alert since she was born, she was always half awake." Naruto tickled her in his grasp. "But look at you, your up and about." She giggled in response and Naruto cooed. Shikamaru watched them with pride swelling in his chest.

"Which one do you guys wanna cut." Shikamaru asked, Haruto gurgled and made a lunge for the one with black and white flowers while Shikaru went for the one that looked like stars in a night sky.

"Alright let's do them but the others have to do it too with you." Naruto said as he motioned for some of his friends and kits came around to share in the celebration. 

The cake cutting was ridiculously unfair. Everyone kept stealing each other's pieces to make their plates fuller. Shikamaru defended the dark blue one with stars, the rest was torn apart by the guests. Champagne spilled and food was passed around but one thing Naruto and Shikamaru were unaware of is the presents their friends had to give them. Shikamaru found it weird when Boruto and Shikadai came to blindfold them when everything settled down. Naruto clung to his arm as a way to find balance due to his lack of vision.

"What are you guys planning?" Shikamaru asked as he noticed the chakra signatures were moving about.

"Well it seems you both forgot that we have wedding gifts for you two." Sasuke chimed from somewhere on their left. The plates being cleared from the table were heard before boxes could be heard next.

"Well I hope you love them," Choji said before the blinds were removed. On the table were small boxes and Shikamaru deduced they were jewelry based gifts. It was all thanks to Naruto who has recently started to show an interest in jewelry. RIngs, necklaces, chains, earrings etc was all Naruto. To make it worse Boruto and Himawari had their ears pierced as well. Shikadai's was pierced from he was 5.

"Stop staring and open them." Gaara urged. Naruto didn't need to be told twice and picked up a dark blue box that was from Ino and Sai. Shikamaru grabbed the one from Choji and Karui.

Shikamaru blushed at the insinuation, he was brought back to Naruto's now permanent declaration of love. "You guys are just being cheeky."

"What we found out from Naruto beforehand and then we decided to buy that as a reminder." Choji defended as Karui chuckled.  Shikamaru rolled his eyes playfully before turning to Naruto who was busy eying something that sparkled in his side eye view.

"Ino this is almost too beautiful for me to take." Naruto murmured. 

"You better take you big dummy and love it. When it hits the moonlight it creates the perfect atmosphere for anything romantic." Ino sighs dreamily as she remembered the one she had home. 

"I somehow have a bad feeling for that." Shikamaru teased, Ino blushed and smacked him like old times. 

"Be nice Shikamaru they were being thoughtful." Naruto smiled and moved towards Sasuke and Sakura's own.

"Where do you guys find this beautiful shit to give us." Naruto wondered.

"It's an amulet filled with moon water. It's said to bring someone back from the brink of death." Sakura informed with a proud aura. 

"Is that your way of saying I might die." Naruto gave a sheepish smile. Sakura chuckled and Sasuke smirked.

Shikamaru turned to he Mizukage. "Where's yours I want to open your sadistic present."

"Keep dreaming, I forged your rings in my country that's a gift itself." She replied turning her head in a huff. Shikamaru laughed and grabbed Gaara's gift while Naruto got Bee's and Ay's.

To their surprise both were empty they gave questioning looks. "It's simple really, you both already have what you want and need in life so much so we couldn't come up with a suitable gift to give you. So instead the only thing we can offer is our continued support as your Jinchuriki brothers when times get rough or when your husband gets tired of your energetic self." Bee said looking away nervously.

"You guys are the best, you've both put yourself on the line more than once just for my safety and happiness and that's more than enough for me and my family." Naruto smiled one of his knock out smiles. 

As the gifts were wrapped up the couple got ready for pictures. In the dressing tent Naruto hugged Shikamaru from behind with a sombre smile. "What's wrong Naru?"

"Well we're married and our friends are overjoyed with the turn out." Naruto droned on and smiled a bit. "Shikamaru, I don't want to feel anymore heartbreak, I'd rather kill myself before I let this relationship deteriorate. I'll always continue to pour my heart out to you that is a promise of a lifetime." 

Shikamaru pulled him around and linked their foreheads together. "Naruto, I love you and I love that you never do anything half assed. I always knew if I were to advance a relationship with you I would have to give it everything I've got. And I did and it ended up with us being married and us having kids together. This is a promise of a lifetime, even after my heart stops beating I'll love you forever and always."

Naruto had little streams of tears flowing down his face. "You make me so damn happy." Shikamaru smiled and kissed him. Naruto's arms found their familiar place around the raven's neck as hands hung on his waist. They swayed in tune to each other, soaking up each other's warmth. Gentle hands stroked Naruto's back which brought a shiver at the sensitivity the tattoo created. When they pulled back their red faces making them burst  laughter before they got ready for the end part of their wedding.

Shikamaru finished pulling on his carefully while Naruto adjusted his to the right tightness.

"Fitting for a bride." Shikamaru teased as he held out an arm for Naruto. Naruto pulled on his hair nervously as he took the offered hand. When they came out they were startled by the flash of a camera. Boruto chuckled from behind the lens and pulled back with a cheeky grin.

"Got the best one." He bragged as he looked at it. Shikadai leaned over his shoulder to laugh at their red faces.

"You little brats." Naruto chased them down. Everyone watched fondly as Shikamaru came to stop him by sweeping him off his feet.

"Let's go you troublesome blond." Shikamaru carried him with ease to alter dome. They sat on the stage and the kids wasted no time to jump on and position themselves around the couple.  

"Well are you guys coming, it's a family photo." Naruto yelled, this made everyone spring into action. Naruto smiled as he watched Sai set up the camera. Boruto and Shikadai's friends fitted themselves in by standing behind the couple then came their parents. The Kages chose to stay on the ground and leaned against the raised alter. 

Sai timed the camera and it gave him enough time to get in his spot before the flash went off. Naruto took a moment and wondered if his parents were watching this, he also hoped Shikaku and Yoshio gave their blessing. 'Even Jiraiya-sensei must be grinning his teeth off. My family's grown from beyond Jiji and Iruka. And I wouldn't have it any other way.'

"Wait where's Iruka and Kakashi-sensei." Naruto yelled looking around, he should've known Kakashi was going to be a pervert and pull Iruka in the shadows for some adult fun. He sighed and prayed for the silver haired man when Iruka realized he missed the pictures.

"Worry later." Shikamaru smiled and turned back to the camera.

"3, 2, 1." The guests yelled in unison as they smiled widely. The flashed went off and captured another special milestone in their lives.
