Chaeyoung stared at her ceiling for a few minutes before she decided to try and sleep. She turned to her side, raising her legs up to her chest as she curled herself into a small ball. Her eyes were becoming heavier with each blink as she was being taken away by sleep. She was about to close her eyes for the night when she heard a noise at the foot of her bed. "I don't want to talk right now." She sighed, thinking that one of the guys had entered her room without her noticing.

When she heard no response and more loud noises she decided to uncurl herself and raise her head to look at what they were up to. She froze when her eyes fell upon a massive dark figure that seemed to be staring straight through her. It didn't appear to have much of a shape nor features. It was just a dark mass that reached up to her ceiling in height, looming over the foot of her bed. She gulped, her small hands grasping the sheets of her bed tight enough to turn her knuckles white. She regained her senses after staring at the figure for what felt like forever and was about to scream for help when the figure suddenly lunged forward and grasped onto her neck, its body hovering above her own.

Her eyes widened in shock and her body flailed like crazy, causing her bed to shake against the wall and items to crash and break onto the floor. The loud noises attracted the attention of Jin and Jungkook as soon as they heard the violent thudding and crashing. She clawed at the figure's hands to free her neck. Her mouth opened and closed in hopes of catching a breath but she was unable to, resulting in her consciousness slowly fading. She tried to stare the figure in the face but all she saw was darkness. Her body was losing its strength and her senses were shutting down until she heard pounding on the door.

"Chaeyoung! What's wrong? Open the door!" Jin yelled as he slammed his body against the door in hopes of opening it since it seemed to be locked. Jungkook tried to go through her wall but was unable to, slamming onto it instead. "Chae! I can't go through!" Jungkook shouted, grasping at his hair in frustration. Jin pounded harder on the door but was unable to do anything. They both stood helplessly outside of Chaeyoung's room, hoping that she was okay from whatever was going on.

"J-J-" Chaeyoung tried to speak with what strength she had left but she wasn't able to get anything out. The figure tightened its hold on her neck even more, stabbing her with what felt like tiny knives. "Stay strong, Chaeyoung-ah!" "Whatever is happening stay strong, please!" Both Jin and Jungkook were yelling encouraging messages as they felt like whatever was happening inside her room was a losing battle for her and they wanted to give her strength. Chaeyoung's weak body did as best as it could to try to roll itself off the bed and onto the floor. She squirmed, making her body move towards the edge of the bed.

She thought her life was going to be over until she heard a dark chuckle coming from the figure and then it suddenly disappeared, causing Chaeyoung to fall to the floor, panting for air desperately. Jungkook tried to walk through the wall and successfully managed it while Jin successfully entered through the door. They both gasped when they saw a weak Chaeyoung sprawled on the floor, coughing like a maniac as she grasped her neck with one hand. They both went to her side and kneeled by her. Chaeyoung was still in shock as she regained her breath. "C-Chae, calm down please. You're alright now, Jungkook and I are here." Jin said softly, motioning for Jungkook to give her space so she could breathe properly.

Jungkook complied and moved closer to Jin's side, helplessly staring at Chaeyoung who seemed like a fish out of water. After a few minutes, Chaeyoung's breathing became more stable as she breathed in shaky breaths. She finally glanced at the other two in the room, slowly lifting her body up and heading to Jin's direction. She wrapped her thin arms around his neck and sobbed into his chest. Jin gently wrapped his arms around her back, rubbing it softly in a soothing gesture. Jungkook clenched his fists, angry that he had to watch Chaeyoung suffer so much without being able to do anything to help her.

Her sobbing slowly came to a stop and was replaced by the sound of jagged breathing, her arms slacking and her weight falling completely onto Jin's body. Jin positioned one arm around her back and another around her legs as he lifted her from the floor. He turned to look at her room, which was now a complete mess of broken items. He turned his back to her bed and walked out of the room with a worried Jungkook trailing behind. Jin entered his own bedroom and placed her down on the center of his bed as gently as possible.

"Look at her neck, hyung." Jungkook whispered sadly as he pointed to Chaeyoung's once flawless pale neck completely covered in deep purple and red hand-like marks along with indents to the skin that were bleeding. Jin ruffled his hair and crouched down to the floor, grasping onto the edge of the bed for support. "What happened?" he asked himself. He wanted to scream and shout, maybe even cry at the moment but he wanted to remain strong. He always showed Chaeyoung a cheerful face but he wasn't sure how he was going to face her when she woke up again. Something this bad hasn't happened in a very long time. Why did this suddenly happen again? He wondered. She had been attacked by ghosts many times but they never caused this much harm. He was confused and scared for what might happen from now on. He desperately needed help and he would find it with or without Chaeyoung's cooperation.

He got up and rubbed his face to try and relax himself. "Hyung, are you alright?" Jungkook was worried because he hadn't seen Jin look this stressed before. Even when he decided to leave Busan after the accident in hopes of finding a better life with Chaeyoung and a ghost brother. Jin sighed and nodded. "I'm fine, Jungkook. I just don't know what to do anymore, you know? I feel so useless. I brought her here in hopes of helping her forget what happened back then but she still has nightmares about the accident and now this is happening again. She's family and I don't want to fail at protecting another one." He turned to look at Jungkook with the saddest smile Jungkook had ever seen.

He felt so much pain but there was nothing he could do. He was a ghost now so he couldn't physically comfort his own brother even if he wanted to. Jungkook had so many regrets, he wished that he was a better brother to Jin when he was younger but all he ever did was cause trouble. He used to hate Jin and his family so much. Jin's parents had adopted him to give Jin a brother since he was an only child and they were never present to be with their son. They did love him as their own but Jungkook didn't want to accept them nor Jin who tried his best to be on his good side. Jungkook was a brat that eventually matured but not soon enough. He caused trouble every now and again until he met Chaeyoung that is. She was the foundation for their brotherhood. Dealing with her made them grow stronger and their brotherly bond became what it is today. He still remembered how they first met and it made him chuckle every time.

Jungkook had decided to blow off some steam after school by taking a walk at the park. He hadn't alerted Jin that he was out so he kept getting calls and messages that he ignored. He just didn't feel like dealing with him. He was sixteen years old and he felt like he had the right to be his own boss and not take orders from anyone. He was just kicking stones that he found on the pavement he was walking on when he suddenly stopped in front of a park bench when he heard whimpering. There he saw a girl that was sleeping on a bench, her clothes completely tattered and her hair a mess. She seemed to be around the same age as him, her body small and frail looking. Jungkook panicked at the sight of her. He feared girls but he had the natural instinct to want to help her since she looked so defenseless. He knew that perverts would come to the park and he didn't want to think about what they would do to her if they found her like this. So he picked her up and carried her all the way back to his home, shocking a worried Jin that was about to scold him. Jin didn't even ask questions, he just took the girl from Jungkook's arms and placed her on the couch. He covered her body with a throw blanket that was already there. Together they waited for her to wake up and when she did Jin greeted her with a smile while Jungkook just stared in awe. The girl stared at them with a bit of shock and confusion before her soft features turned to a hard glare and all hell broke loose.

Jungkook shook his memories away for the time being and gave Jin a warm smile. "You never failed me, hyung. I decided to do that on my own. I was such a brat to you in the past. It's all thanks to Chaeyoung that I learned how to behave. She really fixed me up, that's for sure. I should have appreciated you more in the past and I'm paying for that now. Everything that happens is for a reason. These are my consequences but I'm alright with it, hyung. I can still see the both of you and I'm grateful for that. I'm not sure for how long I'll be able to be with you but I'll treat this time as if it's my last. So don't feel guilty, hyung. I'm still here. Just a cooler version of myself now." He said with a chuckle, giving Jin a playful smirk. Jin shook his head in amusement. "You were such a brat but you've become a man now, I'm proud." Jin looked at Jungkook again and sighed, a gentle smile forming on his lips.

He turned to look at Chaeyoung, determination rising in his being. "We'll protect her. She gave us her trust and I won't let her regret her choice. We will find what's going on and help her." Jungkook nodded, "that's the hyung I know and love." Jin rolled his eyes, grabbing the first-aid kit he had in his bedside drawer. He took out an alcohol wipe and leaned close to Chaeyoung, gently dabbing it to clear the blood away from her neck. Chaeyoung's face scrunched up in displeasure but quickly changed back to the frown it had before. Jin threw the wipe away and walked to the bedroom door, closing it quietly. He then turned the lights off and walked back to his bed, resting his body beside Chaeyoung's sleeping form as Jungkook hovered at her other side. "Let's stay by her side for tonight. Just in case anything happens, we'll be nearby." Jungkook agreed with Jin's words and smiled when he noticed Chaeyoung snuggling closer to them, her frown slowly turning into a content smile. "Goodnight, Chae. You're one strong girl. You'll get through this just fine." Jungkook whispered, quietly enough for Jin not to hear but enough to get a small reaction from Chaeyoung and his smile widened when she snuggled closer to him.
