.........
His head felt dizzy as he regained consciousness. He could tell that he was lying on his back and on a ship for that matter. He opened his eyes after a moment of silence. There were bright lights for a second or two before his eyes adjusted. He awoke to Rey looking down on him smiling broadly ,her hair tucked behind her ear.
"Rey..." He breathed. "What happened I-"
"Shh. It's okay. Calm down you're safe." She said quietly. "Were on the Falcon. The rest of the Resistance is in the other room." He attempted to sit up but grunted in pain.
"Stay down you're injured." She said calmly placing her hands on his chest pushing him down lightly.
"How long have I been asleep." He asked.
"A couple hours, 4 maybe 5 hours." She said gently. "How are you feeling."
"My head hurts." He said quietly his hand reached up to touch the side of his head.
"Let me see the side of your head." She asked. He turned his head to the right, Rey gasped as she saw a large raw gash on the side of his head right on his temple.
"How did I not see that." She muttered in frustration. "I'll be right back. Don't move." She added sternly getting up and walking out the door and closing it behind her.

Rey walked out the door and closed it gently behind her. She quickly walked over to the cockpit avoiding everyone as she passed. She could tell they were staring Finn particularly, she didn't pay attention to that though. She knew they thought it was strange how she'd been so quick to help him. To them he was still the enemy.
She walked inside the cockpit where Chewie and Leia sat in silence. Chewie was flying the Falcon with Leia simply sitting and thinking beside him.
"Leia do you have a cloth or a towel or something." She said letting out a breath.
"Rey." She said turning around in her chair to face her. "How is he." She asked in a serious tone.
"He just woke up. He has a head wound and I need something to help stop the bleeding." She replied.
"Take this." Leia said handing her a thick navy blue cloth from her pocket. Rey took it from her hand gently and gave her a smile.
"It used to be Ben's when he was a baby. Something about made him fall right asleep if I put it in his crib." Leia added.
"You can talk to him if you like." Rey told her.
"He doesn't want to see me. At least not right now. Tell me when he's healed. Even as a child he never liked it when more than one person saw him hurt or sick. It makes him feel weak." Leia smiled turning her chair back around.
Rey than turned on her heal back towards the small room Ben was resting in. Finn however stopped her mid way back by standing in front of the door.
"Finn could you please move." She asked politely.
"Not until you tell me what the heck you're doing." He said crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"What do you mean." She said clueless.
"Your helping the enemy." He replied sternly.
"Ben is not the enemy." She replied.
"Oh so it's 'Ben' now." He asked annoyed. "He's still a monster."
"No he's not." She replied.
"Rey what has he done to you." Finn asked her grabbing her hand.
"He hasn't done anything to me Finn." She said a slight bit of anger in her voice. She yanked her hand back.
"Then why are you acting so strange!" He said in a burst of anger.
"Finn I'm fine! Now let me pass!" She replied frustrated.
"No your acting like he's innocent! Like he hasn't murdered countless people! I've seen what he's like Rey!" He told her.
"I know that Finn! But he's changed!" She shot back.
"You honestly believe him! What every he's told you he's lying!" He replied.
"No he's not! He's never lied to me. Unlike you." She said sternly.
"What?! When have I ever lied to you."
"The first day we met! You remember it I know you do so I'm going to ask you once more. Let. Me. Pass." She stated.
"I can't believe you." He said walking away frustrated.
She rolled her eyes and walked into the room behind the door. She locked it behind her. She felt the need to punch or seriously injure someone. She stopped herself though and closed her eyes and calmed down.
Just like Ben had said. She thought. With that she turned and walked over to Ben who was still lying on his back.
She sat back down where she had been before at his side.
"How's the wound." She asked.
"It's still bleeding, giving me a headache and making me dizzy." He replied his hand covering the wound on the side of his head.
"Let me see." She said. He turned his head to the side and moved his hand away from the bleeding wound.
She took out the cloth from her pocket and lightly pressed it to the wound on the side of his head. They locked eyes for a moment. She blushed slightly and accidentally teased her arm.
"Ow..." He mumbled.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to press so hard." She muttered in response.
"It's fine ." He told her. "Can you help me sit up." He added.
"Here." She continued to hold the cloth in place and gently grasped his shoulder. She helped him upward and let him rest his back on the wall. She looked at him shyly before speaking.
"Ben." She said quietly.
"Yes." He responded.
"I need to know." She paused. "Have you ever lied to me." She asked in a serious tone.
He looked at her before responding for a minute or two. He scanned her with his eyes before her amber eyes met his dark ones. She had that pleading look in her eyes again from the elevator.
"Once." He admitted.
"When." She asked quietly.
"The first time we talked. I told you you were just a scavenger. I knew that you where something more." He whispered to her placing his hand on her cheek. She smiled at his touch. They both leaned towards one another unknowingly.
"Why do you ask." He questioned.
"Finn was just yelling at me because of this." She answered.
"I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble for you." He said.
"It's not your fault I came up with this stupid plan to get you away from the First Order . What was I thinking honestly." She said scolding herself.
"Your plan wasn't stupid I just screwed up. I shouldn't of gone after Luke I should have just met up with you in the control room like you said. I screwed up not you." He concluded.
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did."
"No you didn't!"
"Yes I did!"
"You didn't!"
"Yes I did Rey! All off this, this whole situation, heck the whole war is my fault because I turned to the dark side!" He said angrily. His rage began to boil to the surface. She took notice of this and spoke.
"None of this is your fault. Leia told me that Snoke was in your mind from an early age. It's Snoke's fault not yours. He was there poisoning your thoughts. You can't blame yourself for this." She said placing her hand on his scared cheek. He looked downward avoiding her gaze.
"Hey, look at me." She said quietly. He lifted his head to look at her. "You are not a monster. You're just broken." He looked at her and spoke.
"And what if I'm broken."
"Then I promise you now that I'll put you back together." She said in a soothing voice. He smiled at her slightly.
"Let me see your wound now." She said after an awkward silence.
He removed the cloth from the cut that he'd been applying pressure to. The wound seem to have stopped bleeding and the cut had almost fully healed.
"It looks a lot better." She told him.
His eyes seemed to zone out for a second or two before he responded.
"Good." He replied.
She was about to speak when someone knocked at the door. She looked at him and then walked over to unlock it.
It was Leia.
"How is he." She asked.
"He's doing a lot better." Rey answered.
"Rey may I speak with him alone." She asked.
Rey nodded in response and let her enter before she left. Ben stared down at his hands in his lap as Leia walked over and sat in the spot Rey had been seated at his side. He panicked slightly what was he going to say.
It was his mother he hadn't seen in 20 years for force sakes. He waited for her to say something.
"Hi." She said softly. He didn't respond.
"I understand if you don't want to talk to me but please just listen." She asked. He stayed silent.
"Ben please at least look at me." He obeyed and slowly brought his head up to look at her.
Tears filled her eyes as she saw his face. She still saw her little boy in front of her. "I thought I'd never see you again. After I heard about everything that happened at the academy I thought I'd lost you forever." She placed both of her hands on his face. Small tears started to form in her eyes before she continued.
"I'm sorry that I ever sent you to that training academy. I should have held on to you tighter and kept you at home instead." She told him. Her tears rolled down her face and then...
He broke down
Tears started to come fast on his face. He closed his eyes shut and began to sob.
"I'm sorry." He said between sobs. "I'm sorry I for what I did and starting this war and killing dad-" He tried to continue before Leia shush him.
"Shhhh. It's okay sweetheart. I forgive you." He rested his eyes on her shoulders and continued to cry. She hugged him as he cried into her shoulder. She rubbed small circles on his back to comfort him. Her other hand stroked his soft hair.
After a few minutes he lifted his head and wiped his eyes. Leia placed her hands on Ben's shoulders.
"I want you to know that all I care about right now is that you're safe, alive and home." She smiled at him.
"No matter what happens I will always love you because you're still my Ben." She added. He smiled gently back at her. She stood up and walked over to the door.
"Mom." He said before she grabbed the door handle. "Thank you for believing in me."
"I'm your mother it's my job." She laughed. She left the room and then Rey came back and sat at his side once again.
"See it's just like I told you on the Supremacy. She still loves you." Rey smiled at him.
"Maybe you were right." He replied.
"How long has it been since you've seen her." Rey asked.
"About 20 years." He replied. Rey's jaw dropped slightly. He laughed at her slightly before she spoke
"Promise me something." She said.
"What is it." He asked.
"Promise me that you'll never leave for that long again." She said seriously holding out her hand. He was hesitate at first but then took her hand shakily.
She smiled before throwing her arms around him tightly but being around his wounds. He froze at first but than slow snaking his hands around her waist. She rested her chin on his shoulder.
"Rey." He said.
"Yes." She said looking him in the eyes. He thought for a moment before taking his chance.
Without warning he kissed her hard on the lips. Now it was her turn to be hesitant if she should do this or not. Slowly she leaned on to him kissing him back. He had his back pressed against the wall behind him and he felt her hands move to his hair playing with it lightly. It tickled her hands and the gently touch of his arms around her waist was comforting.
They both pulled back for a breath. She rested her forehead against his smiling broadly.
"I love you." She said breathlessly:
"I love you too." He said.
She let out a tired yawn and rested her head on his shoulder. Smiled at her lovingly.
He laid her down on the bed he'd woken up in and lay beside her. She nuzzled her head into his chest as he pulled his cape over them like a blanket. He rested his chin on the top of head and wrapped his arms around her waist tightly pulling her as close to his body as possible.
He finally felt at peace after 20 years with her in his arms. He loved her more than life it's self. And all he wanted forever was that she was safe and happy.
