Timeskip, Friday

The 104th Cadet Corps were out running in the rain and mud. They had all gotten in trouble for Eren and Jean getting in a fight. The rain was heavy, the gear over 35 pounds, and the thick mud on the ground made it tough to run. Shadis and you had been making them run for almost 12 miles now, and Shadis was the one saying that they were done, but you persisted, and wanted to seer it into their brains that this is the type of punishment they would receive if another event occurred.

Shadis: Y/N, we should head back now, it's almost supper time.

Y/N: Once we do 15, we'll go. You can ride ahead uncle if your that hungry.

Shadis: Just don't run them to death.

He went along while you rode your horse in front of the group. You watched as they struggled to push through. Even Mikasa was struggling a bit to keep up ahead.

Y/N: COME ON!! KEEP IT UP!! I COULD DO THIS WITH TWICE THE WEIGHT YOU'RE CARRYING!!

You looked back and saw people were starting to slow down. You fell back, and screamed your head off at them.

Y/N: IF YOU ARE NOT WITH THE REST OF THE GROUP IN FIVE SECONDS, WE ARE DOING ANOTHER 10 MILES!!

The cadets who were behind suddenly had a burst of energy and caught up to Mikasa and Annie in the front. When you hit the 13th mile you came up with a plan.

Y/N: ALRIGHT! ONCE WE HIT THE 14th MILE, I WANT YOU ALL TO SPRINT AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! I'LL BE CHASING YOU! IF I CATCH YOU, YOU'RE REDOING THE ENTIRE RUN BACK AT MILE 1!!

The cadets grew terrified, and began to pick up the pace. You were nearing the 14th mile, and began to count down.

Y/N: 10!!.....9!!....8!!.....7!!.....6!!.....5!!....1!!!! GO!!!

You caught them by surprise, and they burst into an all out sprint. Their gear and bags were fumbling all over them, and cadets were piling over each other. You didn't go full speed because you knew on your horse you would just blow by them. You saw Annie and Mikasa racing against each other, neck in neck. The sight of the camp came into view.

Eren: OHH GOSH!! WE'RE ALMOST THERE!! KEEP GOING GUYS!!

Cadets: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They all made it back to the training grounds, and collapsed into the mud. You stopped in front of then, and looked down to see half of them passed out, the others breathing heavily. You hopped down from the horse and walked in front of them.

Y/N: Now, what did we learn?

Cadets: Don't start fights.

Y/N: That's right. You're all lucky I was being nice.

Eren's Thoughts: THAT WAS HIM BEING NICE!?!?

Ymir's Thoughts: I'll admit, he's hot, but he's also a huge fucking asshole.

You began to walk away, and when you took a glance at Annie, you saw she was dead tired. Looking to see all the cadets were now out of it, and laid down, you took this opportunity.

Y/N: *whispers to Annie* Hey, come on, let's go before they see.

Annie: *whispers back* Huh?

Y/N: You're lucky I like you. I'll help you up, but hop to it, I don't want them seeing that I have a favorite.

She blushed when you said she was your favorite, and you wrapped your arm around her, and helped her up. You carried her to the supply depot, and dropped of her gear and ODM gear. You sat her down on the table, and leaned against the wall, looking at her.

Y/N: You okay?

Annie: I'm just a little tired is all. Nothing I can't handle.

Y/N: Here.

You took off your jacket that was under your poncho, and gave it to her. She snuggled into it, and tried to cover up as much as possible.

Y/N: Still cold?

Annie:...F-Freezing..

You moved to her side, and wrapped your arms around her. She snuggled into your chest, and you both stayed there for sometime.

Annie: You could get in trouble, if we're seen like this.

Y/N: Trust me, I've got it covered if we're seen. My uncle treats me like his own son, and just wants me to be happy.

Annie: How did you end up here with him? Where are your parents?

Y/N: *sigh*...Do you really wanna know?

Annie looked up to see you were looking out the window, staring at the pouring rain.

Y/N: It all started when wall Maria fell...

Flashback, The Day Wall Maria Fell

The morning sun rose over the wall, and the light shined down upon a small little home near the front of the gate. Through one of the windows, the sunlight began to slowly cover a sleeping boys face. His (H/C) hair shined with the light, while his (E/C) eyes slowly fluttered open. He yawned and stretched his arms out before sitting up. He rubbed his messy hair, and slowly turned so his feet were slightly dangling off the bed. His foot touched the floor, and shot back up from the cold feeling it gave off. He began to dangle his foot around, until eventually he found his slippers, and slipped them on before standing up. He walked half awake towards the door, and bumped into his dresser along the way. Once he exited the room, he looked down the hall to see if anyone else was awake, but alas, none of the doors were open.

???: They must still be asleep..

He groggily walked towards the master bedroom, and once he entered, he could see a two people, a man and woman, sleeping in the same bed. He slowly crawled into the bed, between the two, and laid down, face first. His movements didn't go unnoticed, and the woman turned to face the boy.

???: Y-Y/N? What are you doing up so early?..

Y/N: I'm hungry mom...

Mom: *sigh* That stomach of yours is never ending. Go wake up your sister, alright dear?

Y/N: *groans* 5 more minutes.

Mom: You can't be hungry and sleepy at the same time.

You walked out the room, and entered the one across from them. Inside, you saw your older sister, Clara, sleeping soundly in her bed. You crawled into bed, and flopped down face first.

Clara: *groans and groggily opens eyes* Y-Y/N?

Y/N: Good morning..*yawns* Onee-sama.

Clara: What are you doing in my bed?

Y/N: Mom says to wake up, we're gonna make breakfast.

Clara: Alright, just let me get changed *yawn* I have to meet with the scouts later today anyways.

Y/N: They're coming back from their expedition, aren't they?

Clara: Yeah.

Y/N: Alright...*yawns*

You left her room, as she got up, and closed the door behind you. You went to the living room, and laid down on the couch. After a few more minutes of rest, you heard the sound of step coming towards the room, and looked to see your mother was now awake, and walking towards the kitchen. You followed her, and sat at the tables with your eyes closed.

Mom: So Y/N, are you going with your sister to go see your uncle?

Y/N: Yeah...I missed him since he left...*rubs eyes*

Mom: What would you like for breakfast dear?

Y/N: Can you make (Fav. Breakfast) please?

Mom: You got it sweetie.

She began to cook away at the stove, and your sister entered the room in her Garrison uniform, and proceeded to help your mother cook. Your family has always been one to join the military, your mom was a scout before she had your sister. After having her, she left to raise her. During her time as a scout though, she met your father, and they both fell in love with each other. They were the tag team duo of the scouts, and were second compared to Levi. Your father switched positions in the military, and became a member of the Garrison so he could work closer to home, and have less of a risk of coming back wrapped in a bloody tarp. As they were cooking, you heard footsteps coming, and saw your day stood in the hallway.

Dad: Morning, Y/N, why'd you wake up so early? Usually you sleep in.

Clara: Yeah, it's unusual. Now I'm afraid the Titans are gonna break through. *giggles*

Dad: Oi, don't talk like that. You never know what could happen.

Clara: I was just kidding, anyways, grab a seat, breakfast is ready.

Y/N: Yay!!

Your family laughed and your dad ruffled your hair. You all began to eat and have a conversation among each other. You weren't wealthy at all, in fact, you guys had to scrape for a living, but your family was what was most important to you. Your father always told you that no matter what, whether rich or poor, in a bug house, or on the streets, your family is what's most important, and you must treasure it forever....little did you know that today was the last day you would see them....after you all finished eating, you got ready, and were standing at the door with your sister and dad.

Dad: We'll be back as soon as we can.

Mom: Don't forget to buy some ingredients for tonight's dinner.

Clara: Bye!

Mom: Be safe!

The three of you set out for the military HQ that was set up in Wall Maria.

Present

Annie noticed that while you told the beginning of your story, you were tearing up. She took out a cloth, and dried your tears.

Y/N: *sniffle* Thanks, I didn't even know I was crying. *chuckle*

As you told your story, she couldn't help but feel terrible, for she remembers that day all too well.

Flashback With Annie, The Day Wall Maria Fell

Outside the walls, three children could be seen in the tree line of the forest near the first wall the humanity was hidden behind. The small team consisted of two boys and one girl, one boy had short blonde hair, with hazel eyes. The other boy was rather tall and slender, had dark brown hair with brown eyes. The girl, bow she was something, blonde hair with icy blue eyes. Those eyes almost looked soulless, and could kill a man. They stared out towards the tall wall, and began to devise a plan.

???: Okay, so, do you guys know what you have to do? Bertolt?

Bertolt: Yeah, I have to change into my Colossal Titan, and then smash the wall in right, Reiner?

Reiner: Right, Annie?

Annie: I use my scream in my Titan form and get all the regular Titans to chase me back to the wall. I grab Bertolt, and we hide inside.

Reiner: Yeah, and I'll smash through the next wall in my Armored Titan. Guys, let's do this, not just to go home anymore, but for Marcel.

Bertolt nodded, and Annie just kept her usual deadpan look. She watched as they ran towards the wall, and she turned towards the forest, and looked to her right hand which had a ring on it. She flicked it with her thumb, and a small needle flung out. She stared at it, then back at the forest.

Annie's Thoughts: Just get this stupid mission done, and I can go home. People will die, but it's what's necessary. It's my mission as a warrior, and I must complete it.

With that, she cut her thumb with the needle, and transformed into her Titan. She let out a scream that echoed for miles, and the titans came running towards her. She ran towards the wall, and saw Bertolt coming out of his titan. One of the titans as it was walking in, saw him, but went on. Annie saw this, and was confused, but ignored it, picked up Bertolt, and ran into the walls to find Reiner. She saw that the Titans were already everywhere, and the fires soared high. While on her way, she saw Titans surrounding a group of soldiers. A young woman who had (H/C) hair, and an older male with (H/C) hair as well. They were surrounded by titans, and she noticed by their feet, a woman with (F/C) hair, who was crushed under a boulder. Then she saw a boy, who was being dragged away by someone in a green cloak that had wings on the back. The boy was yelling out.

(H/C) Boy: WAIT!!! WE CAN'T LEAVE THEM!! MOM! DAD!! CLARA!!!!!!!!!!!

???: I'm sorry Y/N! We can't do anything! They're out of gas! So am I! I made them a promise! I'm going to keep it! I will protect you!

Y/N: STOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!!!

She watched as the two soldiers were picked up, and eaten alive. The sounds of their screams sent a shiver down her spine. She felt a sense of guilt, but dropped it, and ran into the second wall.She found Reiner, and they came out of their Titan forms, and snuck onto one of the last ships that was leaving for Wall Rose.

While they rode it, Annie noticed the boy she saw was also on the boat. He was crying into the chest of the man who pulled him out of there.

Y/N: WHY!?!?! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN!?!? *sobs* WHY ARE THEY HERE!?! WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flashback Over

Y/N: So, that's what happened to my family.

Annie satred in disbelief. She couldn't believe the boy she saw that day, was the same boy who she had fallen in love with. Guilt and regret poured into her conflicted heart, and her breath hitched. You noticed she seemed shaken up, and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Y/N: Hey, you alright? Annie?

Just then, lightning struck, and snapped Annie out of her shocked trance. She looked to see you had a look of worry on your face.

Annie: H-Huh?

Y/N: You okay?

Annie: Y-Yeah...I'm alright....

Annie's Thoughts: We.....I.....I killed his family.....I watched as his family was eaten......ohh God.....

Annie began to tear up, and covered her mouth with both her hands.

Y/N: Annie?

She clung to you, and buried her face in your chest.

Annie: I'm sorry....I'm so sorry..*buries face deeper and sobs*

Y/N: Why? It's not your fault. *embraces her*

You held her as she sobbed into your chest. You two stayed there for a while, all the way to supper. You carried her secretly to her barracks, and laid her in bed. She had tear stained eyes as she stared at you.

Y/N: I'll pick you up tomorrow for our date. Night Annie.

Annie: N-Night Y/N..

You have her a kiss on the forehead, and moved the blanket over her. You walked out the room, while she laid there, in sadness and regret.

Annie: I'm sorry Y/N...I'm so sorry...

She cried again, and fell asleep from exhausting herself with her emotions.
