Chapter 6: Stop

"I'm in your nightmares~"

"HELP! SOMEONE PLEASE!!!!!!"

"And there's nowhere to run..."

"GET AWAY!!!"

"Got you seeing double vision lately~"

"CAN YOU see what I've beComeuhh! Stop it! GET OUT OF ME!!!"

"The hunt is over~"

"And now you are mine~!"

"Hide in shadows gives you safety, baby~!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

"But not this time~!"

"AAAAAAHH!" Arthur woke, lunging upright, going from still and slightly sweaty to awake, and frantic.

Arthur stared forwards at his wall, eyes wide and body shaking in terror. His metal arm instinctively raised up, and gently brushed his cheekbone, right under his left eye. His eyes blinked before skittering down at his sheets, staring in a panic as the memories of his dream replayed over and over.

It was large...huge in fact, the shape of something similar to liquid. It held no form and possessed animals and then...Lewis's corpse before chasing after him.

It got inside.

His vision swam the more he lingered on it, that thing, that familiar thing, he swore he saw that thing before.

Could it be...

"Are you alright?" Vivi spoke softly from the doorway.

Arthur tensed up at the voice, his mind snapping from it's panicked state to focus on her clearly. He stared her down for a while before nodding in response, running a hand through his disheveled hair.

"Y-yeah, I think so. Bad dream." Arthur sighed and let his hands fall to his sides, before moving himself out of bed.

He then noticed the missing skeleton.

"Where's Lewis?" Arthur asked our of curiosity.

Vivi smirked at him suggestively before leaning against his door. "He's cooking breakfast in the kitchen. Lance had to round up a cleaning crew to clean his parkinglot and store, it was kind of a mess. So he won't be here. He did tell me he had an old van in the back that still ran, he's fix it up good for you."

"..." Arthur nodded and stared at her a little while longer before looking away, tense. "Alright. I-I'm...going to use the bathroom, to change these." Arthur patted his back once.

"Yeah, I changed mine this morning. I'm stitched up good and healing still, not very bloody like It has been." She rubbed her side a little.

"That's good to hear." Arthur relaxed before moving over to his table, where he proceeded to detach his metal arm. "Would you mind helping me?" Arthur mumbled out his request as he took his shirt off.

"Sure." Vivi hummed.

The two moved into the bathroom, where there Vivi began to undo the bandaging. She whistled while she worked, though, she stopped once the bandaging and wound cover was gone. Her body even stopped functioning, or so she thought.

"Jesus..." Vivi whispered.

"What!? Is it okay!?" Arthur yelped.

"A-Arthur...it's already scarred." Vivi whispered, gently touching his back. "That's, impossible...Lance said it was a very deep gash. Those take well over a week to fully heal, considering he said Lewis stated it grazed your lung. Holy shit!"

Arthur shot up and turned his back to the bathroom mirror, and looked into his reflection, only to pale in color at the fact there there was, in fact, a very large scar on his back, and noticably, his bruises were healed and he wasn't even sore. He was completely fine, which, for once, wasn't a good thing.

"H-h-how in the..." Arthur whispered, his nightmare replaying again.

"That's very odd." Mystery suddenly spoke from the hall.

"What do you think?" Vivi made room for the dog as he pranced in.

Mystery looked up at his back, before his face grew a little serious. He then looked to Arthur's face, and noticed the paler color. He huffed softly and shrugged.

"Beats me. Could be the residue of past paranormal adventures, considering this one has been possessed before." Mystery reported before walking out.

"POSSESSED!? HE WAS NEVER POSSES...!" Vivi then followed the dog out, gasping.

Arthur felt everything melt away, as panic swallowed him. The room then, began to darken aside from his reflection, as he touched it with his only hand, staring himself down in the mirror with a very grim expression. His face twitched as he glanced down at his shoulder, where a metal piece was embedded to his skin, a place to hook his metal arm in.

Arthur sucked in a cold breathe, feeling every nerve in his body scream from terror and panic. Something he should have been used too, but this was on a different level. A panic coming from a source he couldn't run from.

Arthur then shook his head, slapping his face. "Fat chance! Dick." He hissed at his reflection before pointing at it goofily. "So long as I don't get mad you bitch. So long as I don't snap. You have no power over me. You are missing like...two thirds of yourself. Must suck being stretched thin. You may hurt my dreams and sleep. But fuck you if you think you can affect my waking life." Arthur snarled sourly.

"Annnd he's talking to a mirror." Mystery muttered.

"Eep!" Arthur yelped and flailed a little. "You're still here!?"

"Never left, Vivi is now questioning Lewis about his death, asking if you killed him by being possessed." Mystery shrugged. "You done pissing off your spirit problem?"

"Yup." Arthur rubbed his face. "And never, I do mean never, drag Vivi into anything ever again."

"She deserved to know."

"Selfish fuck."

"What did you say?" Arthur suddenly tensed.

"I said, she deserves to know the truth more than anyone." Mystery hummed. "Come along, Lewis is nearly done." Mystery hummed before prancing away.

Arthur rolled his eyes at the sass he just received from a dog, and turned the light off. Arthur moved I to his room and grabbed a shirt, using his mouth to fix it before pulling it over his head and onto him. He exhaled loudly before sliding on some slippers before shuffling into the main living space, and into the dining room to find Vivi setting the table, staring oddly at him before glancing at the missing limb.

"You only remembered in the parking lot right?" She suddenly whispered. "Being possessed and killing him?"

Arthur looked away, before nodding. He left the dining room as he felt her stare, before moving to the sweet sweet coffee machine. He pressed the on button and prepped everything for his morning coffee. Sweet sweet liquid just dying to go into his mouth. He pressed the largest cup option and watched as liquid brown poured into his mug.

"Mmmhmmm~!" Lewis hummed as he cooked omelettes. "This is smelling good."

"You enjoying yourself mama spice?" Arthur spoke over the sounds of sizzling and coffee making.

"You bet your ass I am." Lewis chuckled.

Arthur grabbed his mug before walking to the table, where he set the mug on a coaster before taking his seat, scratching at his face gently, enjoying the aroma of cooking food and coffee. Vivi vanished into the kitchen, where there was a set of whispering before Lewis entered with the cooked food, plating it expertly.

"Breakfast! Is done." Lewis bowed. "Vivi, want any jelly for your toast?"

"Yes please!" Vivi called from her room, before walking back in with her phone.

Lewis spread some jelly onto her toast before sitting himself down at his seat. Mystery hopped into his just as Vivi sat down and dug in. Mystery began to eat second, than Lewis, who could barely taste the food, but decided to eat it anyway, and then, Arthur.

He picked his cup up and sipped, before setting it down and grabbing his fork. He then rested his elbow into the table to put some weight onto it before digging in, eating slowly, him growing more self conscious the more he got stared at.

Especially when Lewis noticed the missing robotic prosthetic arm. His face contorted into one of extreme discomfort and sadness. Lewis's eyes lingered on the gap where an arm should have been, before his eyes went to the sleeve.

Arthur stopped eating then, as even Vivi began to stare at it, and she was used to it! Arthur dropped his fork on his plate loudly, on purpose, and rolled his head to face the two, raising a large brow.

"What?" Arthur said, thickly.

"..." Vivi looked away, blushing as she caught herself before stuffing eggs into her mouth.

Lewis however, moved over and sat down right beside Arthur. He moved over and looked at the gap, before shakily moving his hand back and forth, before raising it, only to feel metal where a fleshy nub should and would have been. He sighed and looked down with a depressed face.

"It's so...weird seeing you like this." Lewis mumbled. "I-It hurts knowing you had to experience something so horrible...with your metal arm it at least distracts from the fact you only have one arm."

Arthur swallowed before shivering as Lewis caressed his sensitive shoulder, rubbing his finger tips over the space where metal met flesh. Arthur hummed and stood, shaking his head.

"Stop it." Arthur spoke, looking tense and uncomfortable. "I'm...not hungry." He whispered.

His only hand, expertly snatched his coffee much before be crossed the dining room, and exited, vanishing down the hall leading to the boy's side of the house.

Lewis frowned and looked down at his own hand before sighing. He then felt a stare and looked up to meet Vivi's gaze.

"It's alright. He's just self conscious about it at times. He also woke up wrong." Vivi chimed. "He probably had a bad dream related to it. It happens."

"...I bet it does." Lewis nodded.

Arthur sat at his desk and peered about his creation. He sighed before grabbing a screw driver and a tray before going to work, unscrewing the plating that protected the interior work of his beautiful metal arm. He stared at it for too long, as everything began to sway.

He was seeing double then.

Arthur dropped the screw driver and gripped onto his head for support as he groaned in protest. He shook his head before standing up.

"Why are you acting up?" Arthur mumbled.

"Because I'm crawling closer~.",

"W...what do you...?" Arthur slumped before swaying again.

"In coming... Arthur...I'm coming.."

"Y-You are already..i-in me." Arthur grew confused, feeling his legs growing numb.

"The rest of me. And I grow stronger. You are again, my most fitting host~"

Arthur felt everything spin. He lost all feeling up to his waist, and his last sway couldn't be recovered, as he fell onto the floor, into his side.

"S...top." Arthur ground out before passing out cold on his floor.
