...................

"Arthur, I literally spoke yesterday in the parking lot right next to you, how can you not remember that?" Mystery questioned curiously.

"How the hell can I pay attention when I'm fighting something in my head!?" Arthur hissed accusingly, hiding behind Lewis shakily, who was shaking his head, keeping himself from laughing.

"You make a semi good point. But you should have heard me. My voice was louder and deeper than this." Mystery hummed amusingly.

"Hey! Don't smirk at me like that! It's just weird! I mean, a dog is speaking english!!! None of you guys are freaked out!?" Arthur questioned, flailng his arms a little.

"Not really." Lance hummed.

"Hehe, yeah, he spoke with us earlier Arthur." Lewis chuckled into his large hands.

Arthur then proceeded to smack the jock harshly on the shoulder, growling at him with a pouting face.

"Hey! Don't you dare laugh it isn't funny! Am I not allowed to be freaking out about this? My reaction is logical!" Arthur grumbled.

"Hnhn, I'm sorry I can't help but enjoy seeing you freak out, it's in my nature." Lewis gave him a mischevious stare, chuckling into his hand.

Arthur blinked a few times before shaking his head. He then looked back down at the dog who was watching him from the couch with interest. Arthur had done a backflip over the couch and hid behind Lewis's massive shoulders in a Hysteria after the dog spoke. Arthur also may or may not have thrown his coffee at the dog in the process, which the glasses wearing canine managed to miss.

"Arthur you scream any louder like a girl you're gonna end up waking Vivi." Lance griped.

Arthur eyed Lance and pouted. "Well don't blame me for reacting as any sane human being would. I've kinda been through a lot in the past week!" Arthur sassily cocked a brow at everyone who had been snickering at him.

"We've all been through shit hotshot. But you don't see me freaking out." Lewis chuckled and shimmied his shoulders confidently.

"Oh, by the way you may wanna watch out for the salt." Arthur spoke blandly.

"AH! WHERE!?" Lewis then leapt, proceeding to hit his head against the roof.

Arthur growled with laughter and slapped his knees, wheezing and doubling over in pain at the same time due to said wheezing.

"Hey! Not fair!" Lewis pouted.

"It seems fair to me eheheheh." Arthur chuckled.

The house fell silent after everyone settled, and thoughts immediately began to flood into Arthur's brain. These certain thoughts leaned heavily towards the self destructive side, as they were bullying him and mocking his friendship with Lewis. Arthur's face visibly paled and grew more tired looking as these thoughts seemingly possessed him, his smile staying as his eyes looked more and more dull and lifeless.

"Oi." Mystery huffed, breaking Arthur from his head. "You spilt coffee everywhere. You gonna clean it up?"

Arthur looked at the spilt coffee and remembered having thrown his coffee mug at the dog in reflex. Arthur chuckled weakly and before moving towards the kitchen, mood twisting and lurching left and right as if trying to figure out what it should be. Arthur winced once when he bent over to grab some paper towels out of the lower cabinets before shuffling back over to the couch and floor, cleaning up after himself.

Arthur finished soon and stood up, tossing the trash away as well as the shattered pieces if the mug he had yeeted previously. He was proud if his clean up work and grinned at himself on the inside. Arthur then sighed, remembering everything was hectic and work was definitely out if the question.

Nap time it seems.

"Considering I now have to focus on healing, I'm going back to bed." Arthur sighed. "It should give me some time to think about you." He eyed Mystery closely before looking back at Lewis with a pained face.

His eye burned just looking at him, and it watered itself shut, so he turned away and headed back for his room. Arthur took one step inside before a hot hand placed itself on his shoulder, causing the jumpy make to flinch.

"Arthur. I don't particularly want to leave you to yourself." Lewis spoke out of worry. "Mind if I join you?"

"I don't have anywhere for you to sit that's comfortable. All I got is a stool and a work bench littered with wiring and metal scrap." Arthur spoke, trying his best to shoe him away.

"We are both men Arthur. Laying down next to you isn't a crime." Lewis chuckled before flying through Arthur and towards the bed.

A violent chill ran up Arthur's spine as a result from that and made him shriek before slamming the door shut behind him in fury.

"Oi! Ghost head don't do that man! That is like an invasion if personal space and privacy!!!" Arthur fumed.

"Relax shaggy I meant no harm by it. Besides you seemed to be not willing to move so I let myself in." Lewis shimmied his way into the covers of the bed, smirking.

Arthur felt his cheeks heat up in anger and embarrassment before stomping over to the bed, flopping down on his side, groaning into his pillow with finesse. Arthur was very tense at the fact Lewis was in his bed. He had killed his best friend and now they were in bed together. Arthur was also expertly hiding his face from the other, as his face was currently taking in a brilliant pink shade.

Lewis Pepper was laying in bed with him by choice. Arthur was topless weak and vulnerable, and Lewis had every advantage he could possibly have, including immortality and endless energy it seemed. Arthur tried to free his mind of sin but it couldn't help but wander.

Fantasies on top of fantasies piling up in a neat gay package that was Arthur's thought process. Hot guy on his bed, Arthur shirtless, if one where in his position they'd be flipping their top as well.

His mind took a selfish dip there, and fell further into the clutches of guilt and self hate and disgust however, as the person he was thinking lewdly of was dead by his own fucking hand that happened to be torn off by a wolf. No amount of self hate was good enough to Arthur.

He wished Lewis let him drop.

All of the gay left his mind and was replaced by a wave of depression and guilt. Sorrow that probably would never amount to Lewis's own swallowed Arthur up like a snake feeding on live prey, eating it whole and eating it in a painful and crushing slowness, squeezing and suffocating every ounce of hope from his body. His limbs remains motionless, head still face first in the pillow.

Again, that lusciously hot hand planted itself on top of Arthur's back, rubbing comforting and knowing circles into the aching and wounded skin, both causing more and less pain in different ways. Pain Arthur knew Lewis wanted gone, pain Arthur wanted to burn him alive until not even ash remained. He wanted to be burned until he was no more than atoms in the air, invisible and insignificant to anyone.

Gone.

"I'm here for you..." Lewis spoke with a tender baritone voice.

It was then, that Arthur caught on to the fact he had been crying. His shoulders were shaking and breathing had become staggered and uneven, giving away his mood to the man who didn't deserve to waste his time on a lowlife friend. His time was and should be better spent around Vivi. The moment that picture is shown to her she would probably remember everything, and the old days would come crashing back.

No more room for him anymore like usual. No more importance other than to provide a car. But now he couldn't even do that because Lewis completely smashed it to bits. After Vivi remembers, Arthur would be useless to the both of them, other than to bare witness to their growing love for one another. They were good together, so Arthur stood no chance, and he knew Lewis wasn't gay in the slightest so he had no sliver of a chance, especially now.

I bet looking at me disgusts him. I wonder if he is constantly angry around me and keeps it hidden on purpose. I wonder if is a form of punishment. Silent emotional torture...

Arthur's thoughts spoke loudly in his head with such confidence that it made total sense to him. Perhaps Lewis was in fact getting revenge in a different way. He had to...

This was more painful then being forgotten instantly. Letting their relationship strengthen just to throw him out when Vivi gains her memories. This was so much worse. He would rather Lewis hate him out right, and tell him he was pissed instead of lying and giving him false support.

False kindness.

Arthur felt his tears poor out faster into his pillow. He gripped it against himself tighter and curled up into a ball. He refused to speak back to the being behind him, who was rubbing his back gently. He refused.

He refused.

"It's alright Arthur."

Arthur's tears halted and everything within his core stopped functioning. His eyes widened completely against the cloth, ignoring the burning because of the contact. Something about that phrase.

Set. Him. Off.

Arthur felt his entire body go numb at that single line. That single lie that tore through him so violently, that his heart even skipped a few beats, and instead of quickening, it slowed down profusely. The hand against his back flinched with a violence, and Mystery ran into the room then, feeling a sudden shift take place.

"A-Arthur!?" Lewis stuttered.

"..." No response was heard, not even breathing.

"Lewis what did you say?" Mystery growled.

"I only told him everything was going to be fine!" Lewis hissed. "Don't go giving me that blaming look!"

"Well it was something else entirely if you managed to wrack up this violent of a reaction! I felt it from Vivi's room!!" Mystery barked, leaping into the bed with a wince.

"Grrr! Don't think I would purposefully fucking hurt him after all the shit he's been through! God dogs are so annoying!" Lewis growled and stood, a ghostly rage consuming him. "If you don't think I can handle my own friend's anger than what do you think I am!? I wouldn't, without reason, make someone that mad!"

"I'm sorry but I find that hard to believe. Considering you chased him down a highway, not taking the time to think a little harder on how you died!" Mystery scoffed.

"I'm not in the mood to argue with anyone! I could burn this room on accident if I get to mad mutt! Stop arguing and accusing me of something I didn't do!" Lewis hissed, veins popping out of his head.

"MUTT!?" Mystery hissed, fir bristling and teeth growing in size. "I'm sorry but did you just insult me!? The very being that straightened your head out on this whole situation!?"

"Yes! I do believe I did." Lewis sneered.

"You ungrateful piece of sh-" Mystery began.

"THE BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE HELL UP!" Arthur screamed loudly.

His body whipped to face them quickly, both eyes maddeningly wide and a very vibrant green, skin slowly crawling into a dead pale color. Lewis tensed and stumbled away, and Mystery dawned his large dog like form, growling threateningly at this.

"Arthur. You need to take a deep breath and calm do-"

"NO!" Arthur screamed, tears having dried. "GET OUT! NOW!"

"Arthur listen! I really didn't mean to upset you. I was just telling you-"

"Shit! You were telling me shit! A fucking lie to make me feel better about your LYING! EVERYONE IS ALWAYS LYING!"  Arthur wailed, tears forming again.

Arthur stumbled away from the two and into the corner of the room, where tie two supernatural entities followed. Lewis however, prevented Mystery from getting too close, himself included as to not make him feel more caged in like he probably already does.

"No one is lying to you..." Lewis responded quietly, holding his hands up in defense.

"Everyone is always LYING LEWIS! YOU! Mystery! Vivi... I'm sick of everyone. IM SICK OF ALL OF YOU TREATING ME LIKE IM NOTHING!" Arthur screamed, grabbing his chest's skin so hard he scratched it, causing himself to bleed, his face contorted into a look of utter anguish. "I know EVERYONE hates me! Especially you Lewis. But stop TORTURING ME WITH FALSE KINDNESS! I can't... I can take it anymore! Anything is better than this! Anything! You should have let me fall! And take away your anger! I-I can tell that you are angry with me. Lance won't even look at me the same way. And everyone is staring me down like a ticking time bomb."

"Because we are worried about you Arthur. Not because we are suspicious or being cautious. We are worried." Mystery stressed.

"I've never called you or treated you like your nothing. Why would you even think that?" Lewis frowned heavily, his beating locket going grey.

"Do I really have to say why!?" Arthur's eyes returned to normal slowly, like color bleeding back into them, though his skin stayed pale, tears flooding down his face. "Must I explain it!?" Arthur snapped. "My deepest wounds have to be ripped open just to open your eyes!?" Arthur fell to his knees, sobbing. "I became no one! No one! NO ONE! You two used me as a form of travel! You two Intensionally used me like fucking bait! Always! I was only good for transportation to the both of you! And no I can't even provide that because you WRECKED MY VAN!" Arthur hollared loudly, voice cracking. "I tried... So hard to bare that loneliness, and self hate, the guilty selfishness I felt around you twenty four seven! I was ignored, I never had a say in anything! And when I did you never even care-." Arthur choked on his words, folding into a ball.

"Arthur i-i"

"Have every right to hate my guts, Lewis." Arthur finished his sentence for him. "I'm no one but a coward who needs his friends to feel anything more than just miserable! I was always selfishly wishing for attention, always silently angry at the two of you for how perfect you were. Angry as to why you even bothered to keep me around when I was clearly just baggage to you both. I'm a horrible human being. And that caused this mess, my own weak and selfish mind...I'm so-"

"Shut up!" Lewis hissed angrily, covering his ears. "ENOUGH!"

Arthur and Mystery both flinched at the loudness, as did two on lookers from the doorway.

Vivi had woken in the middle of Mystery and Lewis's bickering, and had asked Lance to bring her to everyone. Lance was reluctantly holding her steady, wishing she'd just lay down, but she insisted and pestured until he caved. They both watched the scene, with bafflement and sadness.

And above all, guilt, and Vivi didn't even know why she felt so guilty. All she could remember was her and Arthur, but this Lewis guy, seemed pretty important to make Arthur so upset. She was told she had amnesia, so she guessed this ghost was someone she was close too and had forgotten.

"You need to stop blaming yourself for what happened in that cave. It was no one's fault! I am not. Angry with you! Or at least I wasn't until now!" Lewis stomped over and grabbed Arthur by his neck and forced him to his feet, aggressively holding him up, to where the blonde was barely managing to keep his toes on the ground. "Never! Have I ever thought of you as baggage! Or nothing! You are Arthur Kingsman! You were my friend throughout highschool and you are still mine now! You were always there for me, and I you. We had one another's backs sense they day we met when I stood up for you against rotten people. I may have spent less time with you once me and Vivi started seeing each other but that didn't change how I felt about you."

Arthur held the large hand that was clasped tightly around his throat, but not right enough to be suffocated. He had his full attention, and his was fully on Lewis. He stared those fury filled eyes down with wider ones, shocked ones.

"I'm not angry with you. I'm angry with the one who made us like this. I'm not sick if you, or lying to you or degrading you. I genuinely worry and care for you Arthur, don't ever doubt that for a second, and if you begin to feel that way again, talk to me instead if treating yourself as inferior. Don't. Think I didn't notice." Lewis pointed an accusing finger at him. "I never forgot you either. I still remember your favorite color, which is yellow. You love cars, and robotics. You hate metal music because it makes you anxious. You suffer from an emotional disorder that keeps you upset constantly. You hate spicy foods and you love pop and alternative music."

Arthur stared Lewis down, his shaking having long sense stopped. He stared at the male holding him in awe, and intense emotions that were throbbing through his busy yet empty brain.

He didn't know what to say.

"And don't you dare apologize. Ever. If anything I should be the one apologizing. I neglected the fact you needed more attention. I didn't spend enough time with you and kept putting it off. Having a girlfriend is not an excuse for shoving off friends. I'm truly sorry for making you think we forgot about you, and stopped caring for you. We never did. I never did. I'm still your friend. And you are still mine. And yes, I was angry with you and wanted revenge. But death kind of does that to people. Makes them stupid." Lewis chuckled the last part out. "I'm just- arthur...?"

Arthur's eyes had drooped considerably. His face had softened to a look of, releif and exhaustion. Seems a weight had been lifted, and a heavy one too, because Lewis swore Arthur felt a little lighter and looked less pale.

Arthur's eyes were dull and his pupils had become unresponsive, just as his eyelids closed. He seemed to have passed out in their interesting position.

Lewis gently released his hold and picked the blonde up, brushing the tear trails from the other's cheeks before moving him into the bed, tucking him in while being oblivious to the audience he had. Once he looked up however was when he noticed Vivi staring him down with a tired and worried expression, but a relieved all the same.

"He forgives you." Vivi smiled faintly at him. "I could tell before he passed out. He always did have a nasty habit of pushing himself when he shouldn't be."

"Speaking of. Why are you in here? Lance..." Lewis then eyed the male angrily.

"She pestured me and she begged. I couldn't resist her." Lance sighed. "Are you satisfied?"

"Indeed I am." Vivi grinned weakly, before looking to Lewis with a saddened expression. "I don't know you, but I do know your name Lewis Pepper. I'm sorry that I don't remember you, and it seems we were very close with one another so I take it you care for us very much. So I'm sorry if me in this state causes you any pain. I'll try my best." She grinned faintly.

"You can't help it. It's alright Vivs." Lewis's gaze softened.

"You can take me back now." Vivi smiled.

"H-here, allow me to help." Lewis quickly spoke, a deadbeat fluttering into exsistence and helping Lance while Lewis took her other side, walking her with Lance to her room to lay her down.

"Heh, if you were indeed apart of the crew. You need to redo your membership. You have supposedly been gone long enough. You need to go through initiation."

"Aye aye captain Vivi." Lewis chuckled.

Mystery settled down and returned to dog form. He wealth held a paw to his throbbing chest, wincing weakly as he felt his soul beating in pain. A jolt echoed through him while he and Lewis yelled, but he felt apart of himself mend back together.

He felt a little better, though he still had some holes, cracks were healing and the magic he held grew stronger. He smiled gently to himself as he looked at Arthur, asleep in bed with a smile on his peaceful face.

"Things seem to be turning for the better...let's just hope... Shiromori can understand why I can't come back now... especially after what happened with them today..."
