Chapter 20: The Battle begins.
In-out-flashing-Black-brightness!!
"Lewis...this place is scary!"
"Oh Arthur, suck it up, me and Mystery will take the lower tunnel, you and Lewis take the higher ground. Love ya lewie!"
"Love you too Vivs, come on Artie, let's go, stay close if you feel that scared."
It hurts, something was torn off. Metal, the metal was torn off. It smelled...it smelled of iron...of blood!
Blood...
Blood...
Blood.
There was blood, a lot of blood, he smelt in the air.
"LEWIS! OH MY GOD!!! AAAAHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!!"
"Gnnnnnn!!!" Arthur growled, the smell of blood and burning flesh and the feeling of lightheadedness and searing agony rippled through his body, causing him to writhe against the carpet, now starting to soak up his blood as the foreign arm dig bone and veins and muscles into his shoulder, ripping everything, arteries and veins open to reconnect itself.
Vision blotting in and out, mind ripping into two as vision blurred and swam, tears flowing numb and uncontrollably down his face as his world was submerged into pandemonium. Pain, a sizzling pain, deafening shrieks not belonging to him overpowered his own cries, everything unrecognizable.
He didn't know up from down, he lost all balance and self awareness. He even momentarily forgot where he was, or what was happening, because all he knew and all he could know in that moment was agony and anguish in a scale that wasn't human.
POP
S N A P!
Pain partly stopped, blood stopped, ripping stopped, but burning continued, though compared to earlier it was nothing.
Then he felt something cold and very powerful branch through his body! Something unstoppable it felt, branching, creating a feeling overpowering loss.
"Mnnuuhhg..." Arthur hissed, his left side feeling increasingly numb, vision in his left completely vanishing.
Arthur was able to move then, as well as hear, and noticed he was surrounded by spikes. He growled, but it came out animalistic, not sounding anything like a human, or like him. He hissed and with a flinch, he snarled and struck the floor, green colored fire and spikes breaking through the ground, stopping figures from getting any closer, figures he could be quite make out past the heat, burning and stiffness.
"RAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" Arthur gripped his head, shooting to his feet, anger and pain swallowing his mind, dread...caged...he felt caged.
Get away...
Get away!!! Arthur thought suddenly, and instantly began to freak out, clawing at his own face, nails digging into his cheeks, clawing at the invasive feeling, the prickling itch inside his head.
"GET BACK!" Arthur snarled, his hands suddenly whipping forwards, heat expelling from his palms, green fire materializing and rippling through the air, melting the nearby paintings, carpet slowly shifting into rock.
"ARTHUR!!!" He could hear someone a scream.
Who!? Who!? WHO!?
Someone who wants me dead.
No.... that's not right. No...it's correct. But that's not what he sounds like...
That was-!
"GAAAH!!! LEWIS HELP!" Arthur screamed out in desperation, losing his ability to control his arm and legs, watching himself through only one working eye as he lunged over all the spikes and drop kicked Mystery hard enough to send him flying. "Shut it bitch!" Arthur snarled to himself, his right eye's vision beginning to grow clouded.
"Fuck! Arthur hold on! This is gonna suck!" Lewis shouted.
He grabbed Arthur's left arm, the arm with the eye, and proceeded to catch it on fire, his free hand grabbing Arthur by the neck, smashing his head against his chest to hold him close.
Arthur screamed out in pain, flailing and kicking his legs, tears falling once again as he felt his flesh start to cook and even burn away.
"Shhhh, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." Lewis teared up, hands shaking as he singed the arm beyond repair, thumb caressing his neck softly, tears falling down his face, black, thick, and full of sorrow, his locket pulsing and turning blue.
Lewis watched as Arthur's screams lessened, and the squirming worsened. His signal that the nerve damage in his arm was great enough to allow him to rip it off at where it was connected back. He winced and kissed the top of Arthur's trembling head before violently twisting the arm, nauseated as a sickening crunch filled the air, followed by a very loud wheeze from Arthur.
"Shhhh...." Lewis whispered softly, tears falling down his face as he ripped the arm off detaching it from the joint due to the strength it was using to cling, which meant...Arthur...
His shoulder was now half gone, more damage than there was previously.
Lewis chose not to think about that at the moment as the blonde in his grasp managed to shove him away, snarling lime an animal, his eyes both green, and pissed. His good arm was completely green, but normal skin was still speckled throughout.
The bastard sucked itself further into Arthur...
Now or never...
Lewis made sure the arm was cooking, not giving it a chance to gain sentience. He heard Mystery howling as he barreled in, only to pause, blocking their exit incase Arthur and his parasite tried to run away and escape.
"..." Lewis shook, with rage, wincing as he knew this would suck for him as much as it would for Arthur.
He flung himself directly at the man...body vanishing into a void flooded with dread and agony, and weakness.
Into Arthur Kingsman.
********
...
...
...
...
...
Stop the bleeding!
It's already singed!! It's not gushing so stop panicking!! Where the fuck is that mutt running off to?
.
.
..
..
It hurt me, wait not me, but I felt it.
It hurt him.
Was...was this void...is this void...his head?
In waves of blinding flashing colors, a floor appeared beneath no body, but he could feel his consiousness standing, though invisible. The colors moved in a hypnotic away, before the black sky also shifted into color.
The floor remained as a strobing arrangement of color, while the sky of darkness lit up with images, playing back like videos, all in first person.
All from the point of view of Arthur.
Memories...
These are your memories...
Can he hear me think?
Can I speak?
Why am I so small...and everything else's big?
Lewis...was very, very new to this feeling. He felt like a spec in the vast oblivion of images, small, hard to spot, yet he could feel almost everything going on inside his-Arthur's head, and feel everything he was currently feeling.
How does he take control....if he's this small?
How...?
It's impossible, but in order to save him, he must find out how to do the impossible.
For everyone's safety.
"AH! WOAH! LEWIS THAT'S GROSS! BLEHGUH!" A memory began to emit sound, catching Lewis's attention.
"Hahaha, you gotta be nice to them." Lewis saw himself, through Arthur's eyes kissing a lama, petting it as the animal relaxed and laid down.
This man is so perfect... He heard Arthur's thoughts from the memory, causing the floor to shift colors.
Why did that memory play?
Why? Lewis thought.
Who does he think he is~!
A harsh thought followed by a darkening green swallowed all of the memories, each, and every frame like panel shifting to the memory of seeing Lewis's writhing body in a bed of spikes, flooding fear and anger through Lewis, causing him to violently flinch.
Growing smaller.
"Hello there~! Intruder." A large mouth formed through the memories of choking and laughter that echoed everywhere. "How pathetic~! I'm not even fully here and yet I am farm more superior than you. Hnhnhnhn~! Artie Artie, you sure pick them." Two identical toxic green eyes formed against the panels, intensively staring at the small pink ant that was Lewis.
Lewis growled angrily, feeling a fire boil and burn his insides, he felt like this...huge thing was a horrid disgrace that didn't belong.
He was better than him. He couldn't, no, didn't have the right to down talk him when HE was the intruder. Not himself, but the green demon.
He felt himself get a little larger then and he hissed in anger.
"You are the pathetic one here." Lewis growled angrily. "I'm not the one who needs a body to stay strong."
"Funny, I see things from a different view. You were the one who got killed by a scrawny little fuck I happened to borrow the left half of. That's just sad for a brute man like you. You chased him down and cried like a bitch the moment you realized what really happened. You are the one the size of a pebble in his mind. Quite sad." The mouth smirked wickedly.
STOP IT! YOUR HURTING HIM! NO! nonononononono!
"Quiet!" The mouth hissed.
His large green eyes dulled a little, his attention traveling elsewhere.
Arthur.
Lewis used this moment to think, and he though hard, and silently. He looked at his feet and at his hands, and then noticed the green presence had no body, he was...Arthur's body at the moment. Lewis was small because he wasn't in control. He had very little because of its grips into his emotions and mentality.
There was a way then.
Take control.
Release Arthur from his fear and rage, and sadness.
Remember when you were bullied? You talked such shit about em to me. Lewis thought, smiling. This guy isn't any different Arthur. He's just a bully but he's gotten into your head. Remember the fat guy and his ginger pal that managed to get inside yours? Who saved you from them?
L-Lewis- I-Is tha-
"QUIET!" A harsh wind filled the oblivion, but the floor flickered with pink and purple, slithering through the green like very small worms.
I stood up to them, and fought them off for you. You never slept so soundly than after that. I need you to put a little faith in me, Artie. I need a little help from you. This sucks, trust me...but please, focus on me. Come find me babe. Lewis smiled to himself.
A huge wave of magenta rocketed from his feet and he grew in size, by a lot, and felt like a giant.
He could feel fingers, wiggle them as they clawed at something soft, furry, and wet. He could smell iron, dust and wood, as well as salt. Lewis got a brief flash then of Mystery, bloodied with blood in his teeth, Arthur's blood.
Lewis had two sets of fingers, but they were from green arms, they were beginning to blot with pink dots here and there. One was made of skin, another was made entirely out of a glowing translucent limb. Energy.
Lewis blinked and he was back inside the space, feeling himself spreading more and more, before halting at something cold and angry, mean and in the center of all of that, pushing and fighting his way towards releif was Arthur, hands from no where and everywhere grabbing and holding him down, chains with embedded words of hate and horrid things etched on them, and with him, hugging him back was the punctured corpse Lewis used to be right before he turned into this ghost he was now.
It made Lewis's skin crawl.
"You know better Artie..." Lewis suddenly heard the corpse, in his voice speak soothingly to a green blinded Arthur, fighting forwards to only feeling.
L-Lewis-! L-
"Shhhh, I'm already here. Just close your eyes and let me envelope you in a cold comfort."
"Arthur...come to me." Lewis suddenly seethed, flashing beginning to spark behind his consiousness again.
Then....
Everything...and everyone...vanished.

"Hnnm...wh-...what happened to- oh God! THAT ARM!" Vivi sprung upwards, only for her head to smash into a metal bar, causing her dark world to somehow swim.
Vivi groaned and moved her hands, only to feel them bound together behind her back. She shimmied her shoulders and felt a wall behind her, and kicked her feet, to find them both bound as well and her room to move about was severely limited.
"Owie..." Vivi winced as a sharp pain shot through her feet, a sharp pain that followed a grinding feeling in the center of them. "Ouch! Oh owie owie ouch! Fuck! I-I think I-I broke something!" Vivi whispered out her grimacing tone.
Vivi panted heavily as slowly moved sideways, her heartbeat throbbing through her feet with each step, feeling them swell in her socks. She slowly bent down to the best of her abilities and used her crowded space to her advantage, wedging herself in order to lift both legs up to her chest, moving her arms painfully, but efficiently in front of her, setting her feet back down.
"Alright. Smart!" Vivi grinned to herself.
Her smile instantly turned to an opened mouth with a scream escaping as two huge blue wooden branches shot through whatever she was in, and rip off the front of the place confining her. Bright light burned through her and she winced hr eyes shut, and flinched when huge hands grabbed her arms and yanked her out of the unknown prison.
Vivi struggled and yelped, unable to see, only to freeze up upon realizing who saved her from her confinement.
Shiromori.
She was burned, and a little battered, but other than that she was fine. She and Vivi shared a very long stare with one another before the other looked down at Vivi's feet.
"They're broken." Miro spoke softly.
"Y-yeah. Can you set me on my be-" Vivi then tensed. "W-Wait! The arm! The arm! Where's Lewis a-and Arthur!? They're in trouble!" Vivi wailed miserably, fear bubbling inside her gut.
Shiromori sighed, letting the sudden crash followed by an animalistic whine answer her as it loudly echoed through the mansion. Vivi tensed and quickly shot a glace to her bedroom door, she then looked behind her to find Lewis's coffin was her prison.
"..." Vivi felt tears well as she looked back down at her feet. "...Shit!" She hissed.
"Yup. Shit. This situation sucks I know. But you seriously don't wanna witness the mess. Lewis managed to possess him from the sound of things downstairs, but he isn't taking him over. The real battle is going on currently inside your string bean of a friend." Shiromori stated as she carried Vivi to her bed and sat her down gently.
Vivi covered her face, the temperature instantly beginning to get cold enough for Vivi to see her own breathe hang in the air. She whined and curled up, ice forming under her and freezing her sheets as she gripped her face tightly. Seeing the ice made Shiromori's composure slip a little. She hissed in anger and remembrance and backed away, as if scalded, only to tense even further when Vivi let out a mewl of a cry.
"Damnit..." Shiromori sighed to herself before walking over to the bed, laying down behind Vivi.
"I can't go downstairs because of the fire the two are spewing." Shiromori instantly spoke, hearing Vivi's breathing catch.
"Y-you- c-can't?" Vivi whined.
"Nope. I'm literally wooden. You expect me to be downstairs with fire everywhere?" Shiromori cocked a brow and sighed. "I'm a tree spirit. If I burn to a crisp that's it, game over. I can't do that to Mystery..." She trailed off.
Vivi watched her, and for some reason, felt a little less useless and alone, and turned to face her, hiding her face partly in her blue scarf.
"You really seem to care for Mystery..." Vivi mumbled.
Shiromori smiled weakly despite herself, and nodded. "He technically brought me into exsistence. Fed my flower and eventual I became a forest. We were...close. he could hear my thoughts, as I was still just a tree back in Japan." Shiromori hummed to herself, looking at her large hands. "We were happy. He gave me blood to keep me growing stronger, and I became addicted it it, and to him." Shiromori sighed and closed her eyes, tearing up some. "It all ended when your ancestors tore us apart. Froze my forest...and I became this. A vengeful and wrath fueled woman of a tree, seeking vengeance in both her and Mystery for leaving me. He never told me why... He just vanished.
I've been hunting him down ever sense, until I recently found you two together..." Shiromori scowled.
Vivi shivered with realization. "You were pissed at me...because he chose my family over you?" Vivi whispered.
"That's exactly it. I was mad at him. And mad at you." Shiromori sighed. "But I could never...tear you two apart now. Kitsune's are very loyal and complex beings." Shiromori nodded to herself.
"How so?" Vivi asked, curious and intrigued.
"Mystery is able to connect his soul to that of others. He holds a place for us in his soul. Each time someone gets ripped away from him, or something horrid happens, it breaks him. When I came here I could feel his wounded soul. He can't take much more currently. If anything happens to us, Mystery's soul could shatter, it's why he has so many tails. It grows when someone tries to tear his bond away, or when someone he loves dies. I've seen it." Shiromori stated. "Seeing Arthur and Lewis the way they are must be crushing him."
Vivi winced and sighed softly. "It's crushing me too. Evidently I've forgotten things because if that green monster." Vivi sighed. "I hate not knowing everything. And I know those two are hiding something from me." She whimpered and covered her eyes. "I hate being useless. It's...a new feeling I'm not fond of really. They always bend over backwards for me. Especially Arthur. He's always taking the brunt of stuff for me... So I wouldn't get hurt. And now he has.thus problem and I can't even repay him by helping."
"You are helping plenty by staying up here." Shiromori stated. "He can't hurt you with Mystery holding him downstairs."
A loud crash followed by Arthur's strangled scream thst sounded very foreign echoed through the house, causing Vivi to whimper and cover here ears. Shiromori watched her, finding the action very, very childish.
She could be help but sigh helplessly and draw Vivi close, letting the other use her chest as a pillow as she gently rubbed her back. Vivi clung to her and cried into her chest as the other felt hopelessly scared and in a great deal of pain due to her feet. Shiromori watched her, and hummed softly, allowing petals to flutter off her head, and into the air, by a wind she was creating, they then glowed a soft bubblegum pink as they dances, creating a melody.
"Sakura....Sakura...noyamamo satomo~, Miwatasu kagiri, kasumika kumoka , asahini niou, sakura~ sakura~ hanazakari." Shiromori sung softly with the melody her petals played, soothing Vivi as she looked up to watch them sway, her eyes growing half lidded and tired. "Sakura, Sakura~ yanoino sorawa, Miwatasu kagiri~
Kasumika kumoka~ nioizo izuru. Izaya izaya miniyukan."

Yoooo! Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Sorry for the longer waits between them, my health and life situations are a bit everywhere. Got a sprained ankle that refuses to go away, and it has been around two months now. I also have work and school and other things to stress over, so it's been a little hectic trying to balance this with writing and sleep XD. I'm super sleep deprived y'all. Anyways. The melody to what Shiromori's song was is down below. Love this song so much.
