Andrew sighed as he walked to the library after school.
His day had been awful with getting handed four different study guides and three different sets of notes, he knew he was getting no sleep that night.
Well, he might. Percy had told him to come over, maybe she could pull him away from the books long enough to rest.
Who was he kidding, Percy would definitely make him sleep.
Andrew ran his hand through his hair and sat down at one of the tables. He was supposed to meet the new student he was tutoring. But he didn't see anyone else around. No one to make any noise while he opened a book and read.
A few minutes passed and he got worried, the library was only open so late, they had less than an hour.
The library door opened and a girl walked in, slightly out of breath. Her blonde hair was the color of sand, and pulled back from her face in a messy braid. Blue eyes landed on Andrew and blinked. Her mouth parted, like she was going to speak, but the movement stretched the light scar on her cheek.
From her eye to her jaw line, a jagged mark of raised skin was left behind. Like a nail had been raked down her face.
Andrew stood up, a bland smile on his lips, and decided it wasn't his business. If she told him, she told him, either way they were here for tutoring. "Hello, I'm Andrew. Luca, right?" His smile wasn't fake, but it wasn't real.
The smile he used with all the students. He wasn't their friend, though they had a pleasant time together.
His friends were currently out of school.
Though he knew one of his friends was lounging, sprawled out over her armchair while eating cookies and scheming about ways to get him to slow down. The thought brought a real smile to his face, and Luca shook his hand, a smile on her lips as well.
"Yeah, that's me." She said, her chin angled up and crossing her arms. Her orange shirt and shorts combo was like any other in the school. Andrew took one look at her eyes and knew she was smart. So why did she need these lessons? "So where do we start?"
She slipped into her seat across from Andrew, crossing her legs over the arm and leaning back. Her head tilted to the side, and a smirk ghosted her lips.
"I don't know, what are you having the most trouble in, Luca?" Andrew sat back down, folding his hands together and resting them in his lap, over his crossed legs. He picked a piece of black hair off his white shirt, no doubt who that belonged to.
Luca hummed before tapping her chin. "Math." Simply put, her tone was bored and not interested. "But let's not talk about school today, I want to hear about you." He leaned forward and grinned. "I've heard a lot of rumors, but I want to know who you really are."
Andrew sighed and rubbed at his temple. "Luca, we're here for you to be tutored."
"I guess the 'he's all business' rumor was true." Luca pouted and folded her arms. "But I saw you today at lunch, you were laughing and everything." She smirked, eyes dancing. "Why?"
No smile was on Andrew's face as he said, "Tutoring."
"Fine." Luca drew out the 'i' sound, hurting Andrew's ears.
At that moment, Andrew just wanted to be playing video games with a certain green-eyed weirdo.
"Okay, so where is your class right now?" Andrew let the bland smile take over, even as his mind wondered to the black hair that he had found on his shoulder. From when Percy had laid her head against him at lunch, when she had been laughing so much she couldn't stay upright. The smile that was on her lips had been enough to make Andrew grin back.
As the lesson wrapped up, Luca hopped up and smiled.
She wasn't bubbly, just annoying. Andrew was ready to head home and take a shower to clear his head.
"Well Andy, see ya later!" Luca blew a kiss as Andrew muttered, "Don't call me Andy."
A few minutes later Andrew had everything packed up and he was walking down the steps of his high school. "Well, that blonde sure seemed chipper." Said a teasing voice from the bottom of the stairs.
Andrew blinked then looked up, Percy stood there. She was leaning against her bike, parked on the side walk, and held out one of the two coffee's in her hands. Though the one she held back was mainly just sugar.
"Seaweed Brain?" He smiled with a raised eyebrow. She didn't usually wait for him if he had a tutoring session, she would just keep texting him when she knew they had stopped until he came over. "What's up?"
"Nothing, just that I felt that if I left you and only texted, you weren't coming over. And I know from Jay that you got tons of homework today." Percy passed the cup of much stronger coffee to the blonde and took a sip of her own. "I don't want a zombie for a bestie tomorrow, so you're coming over wither you like it or not."
"Pretty sure that's kidnapping." Andrew teased after taking a drink from his cup.
"Sure is." Percy grinned. "But it only comes to that if you don't come willingly."
"Well then this is a paradox, because I wouldn't be coming willingly either way, since you threatened me."
"But I know that even without my threat you would be going. So it is of your own free will."
"Got me there." Andrew chuckled, taking another sip of his coffee. "I guess I can come over, I have a tutoring session to rant about." He winked and Percy grinned.
